At University Hospital, Carly comes face to face with her son Nicholas.
Carly
"Nicholas, I didn't expect to see you here."
Nicholas
"Well someone needed to be here for Aunt Vivian. No one seems to care about her. Not even you."
Carly
"That's not fair."
Nicholas
"How is that not fair? She poisoned and left for dead. She needs someone by her side to will her out of her coma. Dad's not around anymore thanks to you. It's a good thing that she still has me."
Carly
"Vivian has done a lot of bad things."
Nicholas
"And so have you, but people still stand by you. What is so different about Aunt Vivian?"
Carly
"Do you know what she's capable of? She tried to kill your sister."
Nicholas
"I don't have a sister."
Carly
"Yes you do. Melanie Layton is your sister. Vivian tried to kill her to get to me. Then when that didn't work, she tried to convince Melanie's father's fiancée that he was cheating on her with me."
Nicholas
"Like that would have been a stretch?"
Carly
"It wasn't true. All that did was cause trouble and now there she is, in her coma. I'm sorry that happened to her, but I mean what do you expect?"
Nicholas
"I'm going to find out who did this to her as well as other things."
Carly
"What other things?"
Nicholas
"They are not of your concern."
Nicholas says before walking away. Carly calls after him.
Carly
"Nicholas! Nicholas!"
But he doesn't care; he just walks on to the elevator. Carly gives up. She turns around and Nick is standing there. Carly is startled.
Carly
"Nick, you scared me."
Nick
"You called?"
Carly
"No, no I was talking about my son."
Nick
"Oh. I didn't know he was in town."
Carly
"Me either until I saw him leaving Vivian's room."
Nick
"Oh how nice."
Carly
"Yeah. Well I have rounds."
Nick
"Of course, have a good one."
Nick watches as Carly walks away. He gets a text message from an unknown number that reads "It's done". Nick smirks. At Stephanie's apartment, Stephanie lies on her bed flashing back to her fight with Jamie. The last thing she remembers is falling down and hitting her head. She suddenly sits straight up.
Stephanie
"Ouch."
She says as she rubs her head. She looks around.
Stephanie
"What happened last night? I don't remember getting home."
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath then checks the time. She notices that she's late for work.
Stephanie
"Oh no! I'm late."
She jumps out of bed and heads for the shower. Across town at the Salem Inn, Nathan is passed out in bed. He stirs a little before he slowly opens his eyes. His vision is blurry.
Nathan
"It's morning?"
He asks confusedly. He nudges Melanie to wake up.
Nathan
"Melanie, wake up."
He keeps nudging, but she's not budging. He looks over and notices something's wrong.
Nathan
"Melanie?"
He turns her over and he realizes it's not Melanie, but a dead Jamie! He screams then falls to the floor. He backs up far away from her body.
Nathan
"What the hell?"
He asks himself. Stephanie rushes off the elevator and drops her bag. She bends down to pick it up as Lexie's walks up.
Lexie
"Stephanie, are you ok?"
Stephanie
"Yes, yes I'm fine. I'm sorry that I'm late."
Stephanie says as she walks up to the nurse's station. Lexie follows.
Lexie
"It's fine. I'm just glad that you're ok."
Stephanie
"Why wouldn't I be?"
Lexie
"I don't know."
Lexie says confusedly.
Stephanie
"Well I am. I'm going to get to work now."
Lexie
"Ok Stephanie."
Stephanie heads to her office. Nick watches her from around the corner. Bo arrives at the Salem Inn. Nathan sits in shock as he watches the CSI unit scan the scene. Bo walks up to Nathan.
Bo
"Hey Nathan, what happened?"
Nathan
"That's not Melanie."
Bo looks at Jamie's body then back at Nathan.
Bo
"Yeah that's Jamie McCormick. Do you know how she got into your room?"
Nathan
"No. I don't even know who she is. I got this room for Melanie and me last night."
Bo
"Where's Melanie now?"
Nathan
"I don't know."
Bo
"What's the last thing you remembered?"
Nathan
"We ate dinner."
Bo sees the room service cart. He motions for someone to check it out.
Bo
"Ok what happened after that?"
Nathan
"I felt sleepy so I lied on the bed. The next thing I knew, I was waking up next to, whoever she is."
Bo
"Jamie McCormick. She is…was Eddie Saunders' wife."
Nathan is stunned.
Nathan
"I didn't know Eddie was married."
Bo
"Me either until she showed up in my office not too long after his death."
Nathan
"I have no idea why she would be in my room and where the hell is Melanie."
Melanie is chained to a wall in a basement. She suddenly comes to. Her vision is blurry.
Melanie
"Where am I?"
She mumbles to herself. Carly's at the nurse's station with her back to the elevator as Bo and Nathan walk off. Bo notices her and walks over to her.
Bo
"Carly."
Carly turns around. She sees Nathan in a confused state.
Carly
"What happened, Nathan?"
Nathan
"Melanie's gone."
Carly freaks out.
Carly
"What do you mean she's gone?"
Carly yells. Stephanie watches from around the corner. Lexie rushes up.
Carly
"What happened to my daughter?"
Nathan
"I don't know."
Lexie
"Nathan, let me take you to an exam room."
Carly
"No he needs to tell me what happened to my daughter."
Bo
"I will answer any questions. Nathan needs medical attention."
Lexie leads Nathan to an exam room.
Carly
"What happened to Melanie?"
Bo
"We're not sure."
Carly
"What do you mean?"
Bo
"Nathan called it in. He and Melanie were eating dinner last night then they passed out. Nathan woke up and Melanie was gone."
Carly
"Oh my goodness."
Carly says as she begins to cry.
Bo
"There's something else."
Carly
"What?"
Bo
"There was a dead body in the room."
Carly
"Who?"
Bo
"Jamie McCormick."
Stephanie's shocked.
Carly
"That Eddie Saunders guy's wife, right?"
Bo
"Yes."
Stephanie flashes back to her fight last night with Jamie. She remembers rolling around with her then hitting her head. She comes back.
Carly
"How did she get in the room?"
Bo
"Not sure. Nathan never met her."
Carly
"That is so…so weird."
Bo
"I agree."
Carly
"Any leads?"
Bo
"Nothing yet, but I'm not going to stop until I find Melanie. Ok?"
Carly shakes her head yes then falls into his arms and cries on his shoulder. Stephanie steps back and bumps into someone. She quickly turns around and it's Nick.
Stephanie
"I'm sorry Nick."
Nick
"It's fine. What's going on with Carly and Bo?"
Stephanie
"Melanie's missing."
Nick
"No she's not, I know where she is."
Stephanie's curious. Nicholas arrives at the Kiriakis mansion. He knocks on the door. Henderson answers the door.
Henderson
"Hello, how may I help you?"
Nicholas
"I'm looking for Victor Kiriakis."
Henderson
"I'm sorry, but he stepped out for the moment. Would you like to leave him a message?"
Nicholas
"No that's fine. I'll find him myself."
Henderson
"Very well then."
Henderson closes the door as Nicholas turns to walk away. Back at the hospital, Stephanie waits for Nick to say where Melanie is.
Stephanie
"Where's Melanie?"
Nick
"She's with Nathan. They went on some romantic retreat."
Stephanie
"Oh I thought you actually had a lead or something."
Stephanie glazes at Bo and Carly until Nick gets her attention again.
Nick
"That's what they told Aunt Maggie."
Stephanie
"Well apparently they got separated somehow."
Nick
"How so?"
Stephanie
"I don't know. Lexie's checking Nathan out right now."
Nick
"Oh wow. That's crazy. I was just talking to them yesterday morning and now this happens."
Stephanie
"Yeah it's weird."
Nick
"Well I'm going to call Maggie and let her know what's going on."
Nick pulls out his phone as he walks away. Stephanie tries to process everything. Bo and Carly sit down in the waiting room. Bo hugs Carly close. They're interrupted by Bo's phone ringing.
Bo
"Excuse me."
He says as he reaches for his phone. He answers.
Bo
"Hello? Yes. What? Ok thanks."
He says as he hangs up the phone.
Carly
"What is it? Is it about Melanie?"
Bo
"No it's about Jamie. Her car was found at Cheatin' Heart. Apparently she was about to skip town."
Carly
"Why?"
Bo
"No clue, but will find out why. It could be the key to finding Melanie."
Bo wipes away the tears from Carly's eyes. Bo's phone goes off again. He pulls it out.
Bo
"Hello? Yes. Thanks for letting me know."
Bo hands up.
Carly
"What now?"
Bo
"They recovered Melanie's phone in the woods near the Salem Inn. They found it ringing."
Carly
"Do they know who called her?"
Bo
"Yeah, Max."
Carly
"Oh no. Max has to know about Melanie."
Bo
"I'm going to call him."
Bo starts to dial his number when Lexie walks up.
Carly
"Any news on what's wrong with Nathan?"
Lexie
"Yes, he was given a sedative. Probably through something he ate or drank. I didn't see any injection marks."
Bo
"That's good. We're going to have that tested."
Lexie
"He's resting now."
Carly
"Could I go in and talk to him?"
Lexie
"He's still out of it a little, but you can."
Carly
"Ok thanks."
Bo
"I'm going to call Max and check in with the station."
Carly
"Ok."
Carly says before she walks to Nathan's room.
Lexie
"So any idea where Melanie is?"
Bo
"No clue other than finding her cell in the woods by the Salem Inn."
Lexie
"I hope she's alright. Carly just found her. I would hate for anything to happen to her."
Bo
"Same. I'm not going to rest until Melanie is found."
Lexie
"Oh yes. I should get in contact with Daniel. He should be coming in soon."
Bo
"Oh yes do that."
Lexie
"Ok."
Lexie says before walking away. Bo pulls out his phone and calls Max. He doesn't answer so Bo leaves a message.
Bo
"Hey Max, its Bo. Um…call me as soon as you get this message."
Bo says before hanging up. Nicholas arrives at the Brady Pub he looks through the window before walking in. He stands by the door and surveys the room. He notices Aaron sitting at a booth. Nicholas quickly turns away and sits on the opposite side of the Pub so that he doesn't see him.
Nicholas
"That's him."
He says to himself. Arianna approaches him.
Arianna
"Hello, welcome to the Brady Pub. I'm Arianna. May I get you something?"
Nicholas
"A coffee please."
He says.
Arianna
"Sure, coming right up."
Arianna walks away to get Nicholas some coffee. Nicholas stares continues to stare as Aaron who gets a phone call. He answers.
Aaron
"Hello? What? I'm on my way."
Aaron hangs up his phone then rushes out of the Pub. Nicholas gets up to leave, but then he sees Nicole walk in on her phone. He sits down and watches her.
Nicole
"Hey Chloe. I'm at the Pub early so you should get here early too. You have some stuff to tell you girl. Love ya, bye."
Nicole hangs up her phone and takes a seat near Nicholas. Arianna walks up and hands him his coffee.
Arianna
"Here you go sir."
Nicholas
"Thank you."
He smiles at Arianna and takes a sip of his coffee. She looks over at Nicole then back at Nicholas.
Arianna
"Oh you don't want to go anywhere near that one."
Nicholas
"Why not?"
Arianna
"She's nothing but trouble. Trust me, you're better off alone."
Nicholas
"Oh. What's her name?"
Arianna
"Nicole Walker."
Nicholas
"Nicole? That's a beautiful name."
Arianna
"Yeah sure. Umm…Did you want anything to eat?"
Nicholas
"No thank you."
Arianna
"Ok. Just let me know if you change your mind."
Nicholas
"I will thanks."
Arianna walks away and Nicholas refocuses his attention on Nicole who is looking at a menu.
Nicholas
"Nicole."
He says with a smile. Carly enters Nathan's room. She walks up slowly to his bed as he lies asleep. She takes a seat next to his bed as Nathan slowly opens his eyes.
Nathan
"Melanie."
He whispers. Carly touches his hand. He looks over at her.
Nathan
"Carly? Where's Melanie?"
Carly
"Bo's working on finding her."
Nathan
"He needs to hurry up. I need her."
Carly
"I need her too."
Carly says trying to fight back her tears.
Nathan
"We ate dinner then I don't remember what happened after that. I felt really sleepy."
Carly
"Lexie said you were given a sedative."
Nathan
"Someone did this to me to get to Melanie and they will pay for this."
Carly
"You're damn right."
Lexie and Bo are talking when Daniel show up. They look over at him. He looks back at them. He notices they're upset. He walks over to them.
Daniel
"Why the long faces?"
He asks. Lexie and Bo look at one other.
Daniel
"Is somebody going to answer my question?"
Bo
"Yeah. I don't know how to say this…"
Bo starts. Daniel interrupts.
Daniel
"Then just say it."
Bo
"Melanie is missing."
Daniel
"What do you mean missing?"
Bo
"We believe she was drugged and kidnapped overnight."
Daniel
"You believe? That's all you can do is believe? What about Nathan? Where's he?"
Bo
"He's in a room."
Daniel
"A room? Which room?"
Lexie
"He was drugged. He was given a sedative."
Daniel
"So you can find Nathan, but not Melanie? Of course."
Daniel walks around in circles for a moment.
Daniel
"I need to go pay him a visit."
Bo
"Maybe you should calm down first."
Bo suggests as he tries to stop Daniel from walking away.
Daniel
"Don't tell me to calm down."
Bo
"You can't go busting in on Nathan."
Daniel
"And why not? It's his fault my daughter is missing."
Bo
"He was drugged to. It's not his fault. Don't go in there and start yelling at him about this. It's just as upset as you are about this."
Daniel pauses to let Bo's words sink in.
Daniel
"Fine. I have patience to see anyways."
Daniel says before walking away. Bo takes a deep breath.
Lexie
"Did you get in touch with Max yet?"
Bo
"He didn't answer. I left him a message, but he hasn't called me back yet."
Lexie was about to say something, but she gets paged.
Lexie
"Sorry, I need to check on this patient."
Bo
"It's fine. I'll check in with the station."
Lexie
"Ok."
Lexie says before walking away. Bo's about to try Max again when Aaron approaches him.
Aaron
"Are you Commissioner Bo Brady?"
Bo
"Yes I am and you are?"
Aaron
"Aaron McCormick. I'm Jamie's uncle. My niece is dead?"
Bo
"Yes. We found her body this morning. I'm sorry for your loss."
Aaron
"This is bull. I want my niece's killer found right now."
Bo
"My team and I are working on it."
Aaron
"Is just standing here working on it?"
Bo
"I can assure you, I'm working on it."
Aaron
"Yeah just like you found Jamie's husband's killer and then let her go. That makes a lot of sense. Maybe we should be questioning her."
Stephanie comes around the corner and sees Bo and Aaron talking.
Aaron
"What's her name? Stephanie Johnson?"
She pauses for a moment then hides around the corner.
Bo
"It was in self dense. I already explained this to Jamie."
Aaron
"Whatever. I'll find out who did this to my niece and make them pay."
Aaron says before walking away. Bo takes a deep breath.
Bo
"Today, today."
He says to himself. Stephanie flashes back to her fight with Jamie briefly then comes back.
Stephanie
"What happened last night? How did Jamie end up dead?"
Melanie attempts to free herself, but to no avail so she begins to scream for help.
Melanie
"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!"
Suddenly, a man appears in the shadows.
Man
"Oh shut up already."
Melanie
"Who…who are you? What do you want with me?"
She asks frighten.
Man
"To make you pay for what you did."
Melanie
"What did I do? Who are you?"
Man
"You'll learn…in due time."
He said before walking away.
Melanie
"No…don't walk away. Come back. Let me go. Let me GO!"
She yells.
