It was Sara's birthday, Grissom and Sammy quietly walked downstairs and started to make breakfast.
Sara woke up to the sound of Kellan crying, she quickly got up and went to see Kellan. She picked him up when she got to him.
"What's the matter baby boy? Do you wanna come sleep with mummy?"
She walks back through to her room, Kellan in her arms. She slips under the covers and lays Kellan on her chest softly stroking his head.
Grissom and Sammy quietly creep up the stairs and to Sara and his bedroom.
"Happy Birthday Mommy!" Sammy shouted.
Sara, looking shocked but happy, smiles at them "Thank you baby."
"We made you pancakes with strawberries and chocolate sauce."
"It sounds amazing" Grissom place the tray, with the pancakes on it, next to Sara.
Sara kisses his cheek "Thank you" she smiles.
"Your welcome honey, Happy Birthday" he smiles back.
"Can we give mommy her presents now daddy? Please" Sammy begged.
"Let mommy eat her pancakes first then presents, okay?" he answered her while picking Kellan up off Sara's chest.
Sammy nodded. Sara started eating her pancakes, she offers Sammy some which she accepts. Sara and Grissom laugh as Sammy gets chocolate sauce down her chin.
"Come here baby, let me clean you up" Sara laughed as she grabbed a tissue and cleaned Sammy's face.
"Thanks mommy. Can we get your presents now since you're finished?"
Grissom nodded his head, passing Kellan to Sara and heading downstairs with Sammy taking the try with them. They returned a couple minutes later with the presents.
"Here you go mommy" Sammy says handing Sara some of the presents, Grissom giving her the rest.
Sara starts to open her presents. She got some perfume, clothes, books and a silver chained necklace with SGK on it.
"We've got you one more present, just let me go get it" Gil said while leaving the bedroom.
He came back quickly. "Here you go" he said handing her a medium sized box.
Sara slowly opened it, a tear slid down her face as she saw what it was. A picture of the four of them out at the park a couple weeks after Kellan was born.
"I love it, I love everything, thank you."
"Sammy cuddled into Sara who wrapped an arm around her. Gil sat closer to her kissing her forehead softly.
"I'm glad you love everything, now go get ready. We've got to go out."
"Where we going or are you going to leave me wondering?"
"Leave you wondering dear. Now go get ready, we need to leave in just over an hour" he laughed.
"Okay, okay, I'm going for a shower" she said getting up out of the bed.
"Good, I'll get the kids ready."
An hour later the Grissom family was ready and set off in the car.
"So are you going to tell me where we're going yet?" Sara asked batting her eyelids at him.
"Fine, we're going to the park you love for a picnic with the gang" Grissom said giving up keeping the surprise, he never could when it came to Sara.
"Really, that sounds great. Thank you babe" Sara replied kissing his cheek when they stopped at a traffic light.
"No problem dear."
They drove the rest of the way with only the sounds of Kellan gurgling and Sammy singing.
