THE DNA DOESN'T LIE
It's Christmas Eve in Salem. It's a very cold winter day. The forecast is calling for a huge snow storm this evening. EJ is sitting in the living room waiting of news of a DNA test. He flashes back to killing Aaron then having one of his guys look into proving whether or not Mia is Nicole's biological daughter. He comes back when Nicole interrupts him.
Nicole
"Hey EJ."
He turns around to see her.
Nicole
"You're up early."
EJ
"Well it's Christmas Eve."
Nicole walks over and sits next to him.
Nicole
"You're supposed to wake up early on Christmas Day not Christmas Eve silly."
EJ
"Oh well."
They smile at another. The doorbell rings. Harold announces that he'll answer it.
Nicole
"I wonder who that could be."
EJ
"I don't know."
Harold answers the door. A man hands him an envelope and tells him it's for EJ DiMera. Harold takes the envelope then the man walks away. Harold closes the door then heads to the living room to deliver the envelope to EJ.
Harold
"Sir, this came for you."
Harold hands EJ the envelope then walks away.
Nicole
"What's in the envelope?"
EJ sits silently.
Nicole
"Should I leave the room?"
EJ
"No, you should stay. This concerns you."
Nicole stares confusedly at EJ. EJ opens up the envelope and pulls out the results. He reads them then looks at Nicole.
Nicole
"What is it?"
EJ
"It's a DNA test."
Nicole
"For who?"
EJ
"You and Mia."
Nicole is surprised.
Nicole
"Me and Mia?"
EJ
"Yes, she's your daughter."
Nicole
"Mia? Mia McCormick?"
EJ
"Yes"
Nicole takes the results from EJ's hands and looks them over.
Nicole
"How can this be? I don't remember giving birth to her."
EJ
"Sit down and I'll explain."
EJ explains to Nicole what he found out about her and Aaron. Nicole is shocked about the whole thing and begins to cry. EJ confronts her. Later that afternoon, EJ and Nicole head down to Grace's grave site. Nicole places some on your grave.
Nicole
"I can't believe that I have a teenage daughter. Who I conned to get her baby who is my granddaughter so I could switch her with Sydney. Gosh. I'm a horrible person."
EJ
"No you're not."
Nicole
"Yes I am and starting today, I vow to be a better person. No more schemes. Just going to be the best person I can be and the best mother I can be."
Nicole cries on EJ's shoulders as Mia and Chad walk up behind them.
Mia
"Why are you all sad faced?"
Mia asks. EJ and Nicole look over at them.
EJ
"There's something you guys need to know."
Mia
"What?"
EJ
"Nicole is your mother."
Mia chuckles.
Mia
"Yeah right."
Nicole
"It's true."
EJ and Nicole explain everything to them. Afterwards, they all hug. Later than evening the snow is really coming down as Lucas and Sami are preparing for the Horton Family Christmas Tree party. They stop in the Square to get some hot chocolate. Lucas looks in his pockets for his phone.
Lucas
"I think I left my phone inside. I'll be right back."
Sami
"Ok."
Lucas heads back inside. Sami's then approached by Dr. Walters.
Walters
"Hello Sami Brady."
Sami is startled.
Sami
"You scared me."
Walters
"My bad?"
Sami
"Yeah right. What the hell do you want anyways?"
Walters
"I'm just making sure you're keeping our little secret a secret."
Sami
"Yes I am. Now go away before Lucas comes back."
Lucas
"Too late."
Sami freezes.
Walters
"Well I have to go. Bye."
Lucas tries to stop Walters, but he's too fast for Lucas.
Lucas
"What was he talking about?"
Lucas asks. Sami's about to answer, but Lucas interrupts.
Lucas
"And don't lie to me."
Sami takes a deep breath.
Sami
"I can't tell you or you'll get hurt."
Lucas
"Tell me."
Sami
"Sydney is really Nicole's daughter."
Lucas
"Really? I have a feeling something was up, but I trusted you. I stupidly trusted you again."
Lucas yell. Suddenly, Walters comes up from behind Lucas and knocks him in the head.
Sami
"What the hell?"
Sami kneels down to check on Lucas.
Walters
"I told you not to tell. Now it's time for you to pay and then I'm going to take Sydney far far away from here."
Sami stands up and gets into Walters' face.
Sami
"You stay the hell away from her."
Walters
"Make me."
Walters says and he walks away. Sami kneels down again to try and wake up an unconscious Lucas.
Sami
"Lucas, Lucas. Wake up!"
She begs as she shakes him, but he remains unconscious. Will walks up.
Will
"Mom, what happened to dad?"
Sami looks up at him.
Sami
"He fainted."
She stands up.
Sami
"Call 911."
She shouts before rushing off.
Will
"Mom!"
He yells, but Sami ignores him. Chloe arrives at the DiMera mansion. Harold lets her in and takes her coat.
Harold
"Nicole is not back yet, but you're welcome to wait for her. I put out some fresh snacks for you and your little one."
Chloe rubs her better.
Chloe
"Why thank you Harold. So sweet."
Harold smiles.
Harold
"Let me know if you need anything."
Chloe
"Thank you."
Chloe takes a seat on the couch then calls Joy.
Chloe
"Hey Joy."
Joy
"Hey Chloe. How are you and my niece doing?"
Chloe
"We're great. Just calling to tell you that I'm at the DiMera mansion…"
Chloe starts, but her phone starts beeping. She takes it off her ear and notices it's dying.
Chloe
"Oh no. Shoot."
Joy
"Hello? Hello? Chloe?"
Joy tries to call Chloe back. Chloe calls for Harold, but he doesn't respond. So she gets up to try and find him and finds him on the ground in the foyer thanks to Dr. Walters. Chloe screams.
Walters
"Ah, Chloe Lane. Nice to see you again."
Chloe
"What…what…"
Walters
"Happened? Why did I hurt poor old man? Well it's simple. I want your baby."
Chloe panics as she rubs her belly. Joy is frustrated that she's not able to get a hold of Chloe. Mia is about to leave the Pub and notices.
Mia
"What's wrong?"
Joy
"I can't get a hold of Chloe. I feel that something's wrong."
Mia
"Where is she?"
Joy
"I think she said the DiMera mansion."
Mia
"Well I'm heading over there now. I can give you a lift."
Joy
"Really?"
Mia
"Yea, why not?"
Joy
"I always got the feeling that you don't like me very much."
Mia
"I don't…well didn't. Let's go."
Mia says as she heads for the door. Joy follows. Back at the mansion, stands at the mercy of Dr. Walters.
Chloe
"Why do you want my baby?"
Dr. Walters
"So that I can get money of course. I really wanted Nicole's brat, but well she's not here and I'm in a rush so yours will do. Let's pop this baby out."
Chloe slowly and nervously backs away from Dr. Walters. He slowly follows her with an evil smile on his face. Chloe backs into a wall. Dr. Walters walks up to her just as her water breaks. Dr. Walters look down then back up at her.
Dr. Walters
"Perfect timing."
He lets out an evil laugh. On the road, Sami races through the snow to try and get to Sydney before Dr. Walters. Not too down the road Nicole's on her cell talking with EJ who's at the hospital.
Nicole
"Hey, almost home. Chloe's going to meet me there."
EJ
"Excellent. I'm about to talk with Phillip right now."
Nicole
"Ok. Well I better get off the phone. It's really coming down out here."
EJ
"Drive safely sweetie. I love you."
Nicole smiles through the phone.
Nicole
"I love you too. Bye."
Nicole hangs up. She tosses her phone in the passenger seat. She looks up just as Sami is heading straight for her. They both swerve to miss each other and crash on the side of the road. They both are motionless. Sami comes to first. She tries to start her car, but it won't start. She slowly gets out of her car. She quickly notices that she recognizes the car. She rushes over and finds Nicole unconscious. She tries to wake her up. Nicole slowly wakes up.
Nicole
"What the hell?"
She looks at Sami.
Nicole
"Do you not know how to drive?"
She yells.
Sami
"Well you seem normal."
Nicole
"Move you idiot."
Nicole says as she attempts to open her door, but she can't. Sami offers to help.
Sami
"Let me help you."
Nicole
"I can do it myself."
Sami attempts to help Nicole. The door suddenly opens sending both ladies flying back.
Nicole
"I told you I had it."
She yells.
Sami
"I helped."
Sami yells back. They both slowly get to their feet.
Sami
"My car won't start. Does yours?"
Nicole
"I don't know, I'll check."
Nicole gets back into her car to try and start it, but hers won't either.
Nicole
"Nope."
Sami
"I can see that."
Nicole gets out of her car.
Nicole
"Great, we're stuck with no car."
They look at each other and both say "Phones." They get back in their cars to get the phones. Nicole finds hers. Sami can't find hers. They get out of their cars then meet in the middle of the road.
Sami
"Can't find mine."
Nicole
"Found mine."
Sami
"Can you call for help for me too?"
Nicole
"I'll think about it."
Nicole begins to shiver.
Nicole
"Ugh it's so cold."
Sami
"If you call for help. I'll tell you where to find a cabin not too far from here."
Nicole
"Deal."
Nicole dials 911, but gets a busy message.
Nicole
"I guess because of the storm 911 is too busy. I'll call EJ."
Sami
"EJ? Don't you know anyone else? Oh yeah I forgot you don't have any friends."
Nicole
"I do too. Chloe's waiting for me and EJ's with Phillip. They can come and help us."
Sami
"Whatever."
Sami huffs as Nicole dials EJ. EJ answers.
EJ
"Hello?"
Nicole
"Hey, we have a problem."
EJ
"We? Are you and the baby alright?"
Nicole
"Yes I'm fine. The baby is fine. It's Sami and I."
EJ
"Why are you with Sami?"
Nicole
"She caused me to crash."
Sami
"What?"
Nicole
"Can you and Phillip come and get us? We're on the side of the street near the cabin on the east side."
EJ
"I know what you're talking about. We'll be right there."
EJ says before hanging up. Phillip walks up to him.
Phillip
"What happened?"
EJ
"Nicole and Sami got into an accident. They need our help."
Phillip
"Sure why not."
Before EJ and Phillip could leave, Lucas is wheeled into the ER and into an exam room with Will close behind. Phillip rushes up to him.
Phillip
"What happened?"
Will
"I don't know. He was just lying on the ground. My mom shouted call 911 then ran off."
Phillip
"What is she in such a hurry for?"
EJ
"Good question. I'm about to find out."
EJ says before rushing out. Chloe collapses on the ground holding her tummy in pain.
Walters
"It's a good thing I was here you know since I'm a doctor and everything."
Chloe
"Get the hell away from me and my baby."
Chloe shouts.
Walters
"But you're going to need me to help you."
Chloe
"I don't need your help."
Walters
"Oh but you will. I'll wait."
Walters laughs as Joy and Mia arrive.
Joy
"What the hell is going on?"
Joy yells. Walters and Chloe look over at them.
Walters
"I'm just here to help."
Chloe
"No he's not. He's trying to take my baby."
Joy
"What?"
Chloe
"He wants to sell my baby."
Joy
"You want to do what with my niece?"
Joy asks with an attitude.
Walters
"She's confused. It's the hormones talking."
Joy
"Well we'll just see what the police have to say about this."
Joy pulls out her phone to call 911. Walters pulls out a gun and points it at Joy and Mia.
Walters
"Put the phone down."
Joy throws her phone on the ground.
Walters
"Let me see your phone too blonde."
Mia pulls out her phone and tosses it on the ground.
Walters
"Good girls."
Joy and Mia stare nervously at Walters pointing the gun at them. Chloe screams in pain distracting Walters. Mia grabs a vase and throws it at Walters hitting him in the head. He falls to the ground. Chloe screams in pain again. Joy rushes to her side. Mia walks over to check on Walters. He's still breathing but is knocked out. She decided to kick him in the head for good measure.
Mia
"He's not really good at this whatever he was trying to do here."
She states.
Joy
"A little help over here."
Joy suggests. Mia walks over to help Joy and Chloe. I think the baby is coming.
Mia
"Shouldn't the baby daddy be here or something?"
Chloe
"Yes call Phillip."
Joy rushes to get her phone and calls Phillip. Phillip's talking with Will when he gets the call.
Phillip
"Hey Joy."
Joy
"You need to get to the DiMera mansion right away."
Phillip
"What's wrong?"
Chloe screams.
Phillip
"What's wrong with Chloe?"
Joy
"She's having the baby."
Phillip
"I'm on my way."
Phillip hangs up.
Phillip
"Sorry Will. Chloe's having the baby."
Will
"It's cool."
Phillip
"Call me when you find out how Lucas is doing."
Will
"Ok."
Phillip takes off to the DiMera mansion.
Chloe
"I don't think Phillip's going to make it here in time."
Joy
"Mia, help us."
Mia
"Um…what am I supposed to do?"
Joy
"You've had a baby before. You know how this goes."
Mia
"Yeah I was the one doing the pushing."
Chloe screams get louder.
Joy
"Help please."
Joy pleads. Sami and Nicole find a cabin to go into to get out of the storm. As soon as Sami closes the door they hear a huge crash.
Nicole
"Oh my gosh. What was that?"
They look out the window and notice that some snow has fallen from the roof is blocking the door.
Nicole
"Nice going Sami now we're trapped."
Sami
"It's not my fault it's snowing."
Nicole
"Everything that is happening right now is your fault. I don't have time for this or you. And I'm pretty sure we're going to freeze to death."
Sami
"I can start a fire."
Nicole
"Please no. You've done more than enough today."
Sami
"Fine then."
Nicole
"Where you off to so fast anyways?"
Sami stand nervously.
Nicole
"Earth to Sami. Hello, answer my question."
Sami
"I guess you should know."
Nicole
"Know what?"
Sami
"That…that…"
Nicole
"Spit it out."
Sami
"Sydney is your daughter."
Nicole is astonished. Sami panics.
