An Unwanted Turbulence
Sitting on one the passenger seats in the plane, Gray was ecstatic that he would be finally be able to go home.
Just a couple more hours, he thought after waking up. There wasn't as if he could do much in the plane other than eat, read, and sleep.
Rarely did he cared to watch the movies programmed into the little screen in front of him nor did he listen to his music knowing that he would be tired of it quite fast.
So, he decided to fall back to sleep once more, and hoped that they would've landed by the time he wakes.
However, before that could happen, the whole plane began to undergo some massive turbulence—and it was a big.
The lights were switching on and off as the whole thing continued to shake as if hit with an earthquake. People were beginning to panic.
Shit! Gray made sure to tighten his seat belt, and got the emergency items ready.
The announcement made by the pilot wasn't helping the rise of insecurity everyone was feeling, and the attendants themselves weren't doing good either.
This wasn't your ordinary by-passing turbulence, because it only got worse.
Lightning had hit a wing, messing with the turbine engine and caused it fail.
Gray had the courage to actually slide the cover up to see what was happening outside. His eyes widened in surprise to see the wing combusted in flames.
Holy shit… the dark-haired felt a lump stuck in his throat as fear began making its way throughout his body.
They weren't going to survive … With the condition they were all in, he knew this became a fact.
He cursed the gods for putting him in such an unfortunate situation, before clutching onto the armrests of his seat.
Gray looked down at the locket around his neckline, and decided on opening it as it may be the last time he'll see his face.
He let out an endearing smile from seeing the happy expression on his beloved.
I'm sorry, Natsu … It looks like I won't be able to make it for our 10th anniversary together.
He braced himself as the gravity and the pressure around began to constrict him. They were falling; falling to the depths of the vast waters below.
Natsu placed a single red rose with a silver ring around it on the hard cement.
His expression was solemn as he stared at the grave of the man he loved.
"Bastard … Who told you die off like that?"
He clicked his tongue as if he had been angered, but the tears forming in his eyes said otherwise.
"… And you couldn't have waited to at least let me propose to you properly."
He knew his voice was beginning to crack; it had all been too much.
He was planning to finally settle down together for their 10th anniversary, and he had been looking forward for the other's return.
Nevertheless, the moment he had turned on his television and headed to the news channel to just check the weather, the news about a plane incident—specifically the one that his lover had told him beforehand he was going to take—hit him hard.
"So unfair." The strength in his legs seemed to have left him as he kneeled on the hard stone-pathway.
He couldn't stop the tears from falling any longer:
"What do I do now, Gray? … What do I do now?"
