Chapter 25: Another Conflict

Randy's POV; The early morning of July 12th

"Mm . . ." I grumble under my breath as I slowly opened my eyes, the smell of eggs wafting through my nose as I slowly sat up in bed. I slide back the curtains that hid the lone window in the room to see the N.Y. skyline in the near distance, the sun shining brightly above the city skyline. I slowly lift the bed sheets off of me and climb out of bed, letting my nose guide me toward the kitchen area where the smell of eggs would most likely be coming from.

I pass by Alanna, who was still sleeping in her bunk bed, before reaching the kitchen area to see my 'Manda standing right in front of the stove, sliding an omelet right onto a small red plate with her right hand, her left hand rubbing her throat as she concentrated on her work.

"Good morning sweetheart . . ." I say with a smirk as I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed. "What are you up to this early in the morning?"

"I've made myself an omelet . . ." she tells me with a smirk as she put the skillet into the sink. "The normal pregnancy symptom of craving certain foods has finally got to me. I woke up this morning craving an omelet, and now here I am with an omelet."

"If that's the case, why are you rubbing your neck like your blood craving is bothering you?" I ask with a smirk as she takes out a fork from one of the drawers.

"Because not only do I have a craving for omelets, I'm craving blood," she tells me simply as she walks over to me. "And you know exactly whose blood I'm craving for right now."

"If it's Hal, I believe something can be arraigned," I say with a smirk as I watch her walk over to our bedroom. ". . . Be warned: his blood may taste like Red Bull."

"I heard that Randy!" I hear Hal yell from the driver's seat as I follow 'Manda back to our room.

"You were supposed to!" I call back in a voice that was loud enough for Hal to hear, but low enough that it wouldn't disturb my slumbering little girl. I close the door behind us before turning my attention to Amanda as she pokes at her omelet. "So babe, do you want to eat your omelet first, or do you want to have my blood as your first course."

"The burning in my throat is much stronger than the grumbling of my stomach . . ." she tells me with a small pout as she puts her omelet onto the small counter next to the bed. "Blood first, then eggs."

"Alright . . . you are feeding for two after all . . ." I say with a smirk as I sit down next to her. "Or at least . . . I think you're eating for two. You may be carrying twins or triplets . . . maybe even quadruplets for all I know."

"Yeah . . . I just got used to the idea of being pregnant for the first time alright," she tells me with a chuckle as she leans her head toward my neck. "Don't make me freak out over the possibilities of multiple births on the same day okay? Let's take this one step at a time."

"Fine . . . but it's possible, just remember that," I say with a smirk as I pulled her into my arms. She narrows her eyes at me before leaning to my neck, her lips kissing my skin before her fangs pierce the flesh. "Don't take too much or else you won't have enough room for your omelet. I'd hate for it to go to waste."

"Don't worry about it. If I don't want to finish it, then I can just give the rest to Hal." she tells me with a mental chuckle as she begins to siphon out my blood to satisfy her own thirst.

"That's mean . . ." I mumble, my voice becoming slightly slurred as she continued her intake. "Haven't you thought of the possibility that I may want your omelet?"

"I have . . ." she tells me as I feel her fangs finally leave my flesh. I smirk at the sensation of her lips kissing my skin before looking down to see her looking at me with a blood tinted smirk on her face. "But since you know how to cook, I figured you'd whip up your own breakfast."

"Way to think ahead babe . . ." I say with a smirk as I lay back down on to the mattress. "And speaking of babes and thinking ahead, we're going to have make an appointment for you to have a sonogram missy."

"Hmm . . . vampires do sonograms?" she asks me unsurely as she raises an eyebrow. "How does that happen?"

"Well, to put it simply . . . it's definitely not like the sonograms that human women go through." I say with a smirk as I pecked her forehead. "Don't worry . . . you'll see what I mean when you have to do it. And if it makes you feel any better, I'll make the appointment myself."

"You know a place?" she asks me as she lets out a small chuckle.

"Thanks to my mom and Sam, I know quite a few we can visit while we're on the road," I say with a smirk as I laid my hand on her protruding belly. "But we'll wait until your belly gets a little bigger before that happens."

"Fine by me . . ." she tells me with smirk as she takes back up her breakfast. "So, what are your plans for Ms. Alanna? What is the Viper going to do for his little girl on her special day this year hmm?"

"Well . . ." I say with a smirk as I cross my arms. "I plan to make Alanna her favorite breakfast and then we give her the gifts we got her afterwards. . . I'll let her use the laptop to Skype with her mother before I have to go practice for the house show at MSG tonight. I'll leave handling the birthday girl to you while I'm gone. . ."

"You can count on me . . . however, I hope she don't mind me taking her along to visit my grand aunt in the East Village. I owe her a long overdue visit." she tells me with a small salute. "What else is there?"

"Alanna's really been asking me to take her around Manhattan for her birthday, so we'll do just that after I'm done with practice. I'll meet you at your aunt's address and then we'll go around the borough. We'll have dinner after that, and then we conclude the day with you two watching me work during tonight's show." I further explain as I let out a small breath.

"I see you have it all planned out . . ." she tells me with a smirk as she takes a bite out of her egg. "But you may want to build up your strength before you put your plan into action mister."

"Yeah . . . no thanks to you missy," I say with a smirk as I get back up on my feet. I walk out the room and over to the fridge to grab a blood bag from the bottom drawer before returning, Amanda already finished with ¾ of her omelet. "Wow . . . I never realized you could eat this fast."

"Sometimes a craving for blood can really work up an appetite for human food." she tells me with a shrug as she finishes up her meal. "So . . . you're mostly going to be a lumberjack tonight huh?"

"That's what it says in the script . . ." I tell her with a shrug as I bite into the bag, the red liquid soon flooding my mouth. "I'm basically stuck being one of the lumberjacks for John's title match against Bray."

"Won't Hunter just have you try to interfere with the match any way you can so that John could lose the title?" she asks me curiously as she puts her plate off to the side. "As a part of The Authority, it is your job to try to get the WWE World Heavyweight Championship off of John in any way you can."

"That's basically it, but Hunter hasn't told me anything about that yet . . . I'm supposed to meet with him before practice first to discuss it," I tell her as I momentarily defang myself from my food. "But what can you really do as a lumberjack in a Lumberjack Match?"

"Even though your usual job as a lumberjack requires you to get the opponent that's in the match back into the ring if he slips out of the ring, you can always . . . I don't know, beat the crap out of the person before rolling him back in." she tells me with a smirk as I sit down next to her. "You've done it in the past."

"That I have . . . sorry John, but you will get your ass kicked if you roll out the side of the ring where I'm at . . ." I say with a smirk as I went back to my early morning feeding.

"Daddy . . . what's going on?" we hear Alanna suddenly ask us as she appears in the doorway, her hands rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she let out a small yawn. "Why are you going to beat the crap out of Uncle John?"

"Well . . . it's part of my job honey," I say with a chuckle as I drop the empty wrapper into the trash bin. "I have to beat up John, as well as the other wrestlers on the roster, in order to get paid. If I don't get paid, how will I afford to buy you any gifts for your birthday?"

"Good point . . ." she tells me with a shake of her head as she walks over to us. "And speaking of gifts, where are they?"

"I'll be right back . . ." I say with a smirk as I got up from my seat and walked out the room. I quickly make my way over to the front of the bus toward the cupboard right behind Hal's seat. I quickly take out mine, Amanda's, and Hal's gifts out and then make my way back to the back of the bus, just in time to see Alanna test out her braiding skills on Amanda's hair.

"Oh Alanna look!" says Amanda with a strained smirk as she points at me while my little girl mercilessly pulls at half of her hair to put it into a pigtail. "Your father is back, and he's brought gifts!"

"Gifts?" she asks her happily as she turns to me, going wide eyed as she saw the gifts I held in my hand. "Are they all toys?"

"Yes . . . they're all toys." I say with a chuckle as I close my eyes. The sudden whoosh of wind and the feeling of having the gifts being removed from my hands get my attention, so I opened my eyes to see that Alanna and her gifts were all gone. "Where'd she go?"

"I'm guessing to the bunk beds." Amanda tells me with a smirk as she points behind me. I turn around to see Alanna sitting on the bottom bunk, feverishly ripping the gift wrap away to reveal her presents underneath.

"These presents are amazing!" she exclaims with a big grin on her face as she looks over her haul. "Thanks everyone!"

"You're welcome Alanna . . ." I hear Amanda say with a smirk as I feel her arms wrap around my waist, "Now Mr. Viper, don't you have a birthday breakfast to prepare? Some of are starving here."

"That I do . . ." I say with a smirk as I watch her rest her chin on my shoulder. "Are you really still hungry after the blood and omelet you had?"

"A little . . ." she tells me guiltily as she lets out a small whistle. "This baby of ours is going to make me pack on a few pounds that's' for sure."

"Then I better start cooking then . . ." I say with a chuckle as I break out of her grip. I quickly peck her on the cheek before heading off to kitchen. I have a few mouths to feed.

Normal POV

"Hey! There's Mr. Viper!" called John as Randy walked down the ramp to see all of his friends, except for Ted, already crowding around the ring talking about tonight's show. "You were supposed to be here half an hour ago! What took so long?"

"Sorry, but Alanna got real picky with me during breakfast this morning," said Randy with a shrug as he stretched out his arms. "That girl can really get peculiar when it comes to her waffles."

"Oh yeah . . . isn't it her birthday today?" asked Cody as he rolled himself into the ring. "She turns seven, right?"

"That's right . . ." said Randy as he leaned against the ring apron. "Alanna wants me to take her around Manhattan to show her some of the sights, so 'Manda and I are going to do that after practice."

"Where are those two anyway?" asked Sheamus as he raised an eyebrow.

"There heading to 'Manda's great aunt's place in the East Village. Amanda has to make up for lost time with her relative, so I'll meet them up there after the practice session is done. . . ." said Randy as he looked around the group, now noticing that a certain person wasn't among them. "Uh guys, where's Ted?"

"I don't know . . . last time I saw him, he was heading off to catering to get something to eat," said Kofi with a shrug as he noticed that the man in question was already walking down the ramp. "Oh look . . . there's the man of the hour now."

"Hey guys . . ." mumbled Ted as he let out a shaky breath. "You will not believe who I just ran into while on my way here."

"Was it someone that finally told you that you're not the most beautiful man on the planet?" asked Cody as he let out a small chuckle.

"No, and you're a dick for even saying that to me Cody," said Ted as he looked on with a mock hurt expression. "I saw Lesnar. He's here in the building."

"What!" said John as a blunt expression came across his face, his eyes narrowed into slits at the prospect of The Beast Incarnate being in the same building as them. "Why is he here?"

"I think I can explain that for you guys . . ." said Monica as she jogged down the ramp, dressed in a black sports bra and black sweatpants. "The Anomaly is here with Heyman to discuss the possibility of Lesnar headlining another pay-per-view soon."

"Which one?" asked Randy as he raised an eyebrow.

"Most likely SummerSlam, from what I gathered," said Monica as she shrugged her shoulders. "They're giving the plan the name Plan C, and if everything goes according to plan, then you can expect Lesnar facing John in the main event in L.A. in a few months' time."

"Well that's depressing to hear . . ." mumbled John as he shook his head. "Is Lesnar even going to be in a few matches on Raw and SmackDown before SummerSlam supposed to come around?"

"From what I heard, the answer to your question is a no," said Monica as she rolled into the ring. "Apparently, they're going to give it to him, just like that."

"You've got to be kidding me . . ." muttered Wade as he shook his head.

"Says the guy with the bad shoulder . . ." said Sheamus as he snuck a look at Wade. "You still pissed that you lost the Intercontinental Championship."

"I was forced to give it up . . ." grumbled Wade as he clutched the shoulder in question. "Even though being a supernatural is fun and all, it gets annoying when you heal in a matter of hours, but you still have to sit out for a couple of weeks in order to sell the injury, as well as show the humans that you're perfectly like them and suffer injuries like the rest of them."

"I hear that!" called Edge as he shook his head in agreement, as well as everyone else that was vampire, werewolf, or shapeshifter. "That's probably one of the worst parts of being a supernatural professional wrestler."

"Oh boo hoo for the rest of you . . ." grumbled John as he and Ted looked at the group a Tad disdainfully. "Me and Ted here wish we could speed heal like the rest of you, but no, we have to visit the doctors and the hospitals just like the ordinary folk."

"Oh calm down John . . ." said Randy as he showed off a toothy grin. "Having an injury is practically the only time you actually take a break from wrestling, Mr. Workaholic."

"I take breaks from wrestling . . ." said John as he countered Randy's words.

"Sleep, eating food, and using the bathroom don't count John!" Randy said instantly to counter any comeback John had planned. Everyone broke out into a fit of laughter, at Randy's words, but soon quieted down when they spotted Heyman and Lesnar appearing at the top of the ramp.

"Oh great . . . what do those two want?" asks Kofi as he adjusted his ponytail filled with dreadlocks.

"You think they'll actually come down here to the ring?" whispered Ted, keeping his voice as low as possible so that the two in question wouldn't hear them.

"I hope not . . ." grumbled John as he took a seat on the steel steps. They all watched the two as they talked at the top of the ramp. Paul pointed down to the ring, to John specifically, as he talked to Brock and the Anomaly shook his head in agreement to his manager's words. Soon enough, they were walking down the ramp toward the ring. ". . . I guess my hopes were in vain."

"Hopefully they'll make their visit quick . . ." grumbled Cody as he walked over to the barricade. "I can't stand the funky smell Heyman is giving off."

"You and me both . . ." grumbled Randy in agreement as he shook his head. Brock shot unimpressed looks at all of them, Randy especially, before turning his attention to John, who was currently tying his laces. Heyman tapped on John's shoulder, and once he looked up, he was face to face with the Beast Incarnate.

"Can I help you two?" asked John as he adjusted the ever present baseball cap on his head. "Do you need help finding the exit or something?"

"Very funny Mr. Cena . . ." said Paul as he let out a small chuckle, which was a very annoying sound to hear, especially to the ones that had super sensitive hearing. "We just wanted to see how the current champ was doing."

"Yeah . . . like you two could ever care about that . . ." said John as he shook his head. "Now what's the real reason why you came down here?"

"We just came down here to tell you the good news . . ." answered Brock as a small smirk came across his face. "Remember what I said earlier in the year, about me coming back because I wanted to challenge the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Well, now it's official. "I'm going to challenge you for those belts come SummerSlam."

"Oh . . . well isn't that good for you." said John as he looked at him dryly. "You'll be my opponent come SummerSlam?"

"That's correct . . ." said Heyman as he shook his head. "With Mr. Kane and Mr. Orton here failing to claim the championship time and time again, failure after failure . . . well, the Authority will have to go to drastic measures, aka, my client here."

"He does know everything's scripted right?" Cody whispered as he stood next to an annoyed looking Viper.

"When it comes to Brock, nothing is scripted for him . . ." muttered the Viper as he shook his head, his tattooed arms crossed over his chest as he stared at the three. ". . . Just look at Punk."

"Oh . . . good point . . ." muttered Cody as he shook his head.

"Okay Heyman . . . what makes you so sure Brock will beat me this time around?" asked John as he shrugged his shoulders. "I've beat him before."

"Oh trust me Cena . . . things will be different this time when we face each other in L.A.,
said Brock as he let a small chuckle past his lips. It practically sent shivers down John's spine. "I would tell you more, but I'll just leave you guessing for now."

Brock let an even louder chuckle pass his lips as he backed away from John. He slowly turned on his heels and started walking back from where he came, Heyman quickly right behind him. He already had one foot on the ramp, when he noticed Randy standing mere few feet away, now lost in thought as he kept his arms crossed. He shook his head before spinning around and landing a punch right at Randy's eye. The Viper stumbled into the barricade, clutching the left side of his face, which was already swelling due to a few broken bones in the damaged area. Once he spotted Brock standing in the middle of the ramp, Randy tried to lunge at him out of fury, but Cody managed to restrain his fellow vampire before he could move another inch. Due to the blood he had earlier in the morning, he was currently stronger that Cody, using his strength to his advantage in order to slowly creep along the floor in order to get to Lesnar, but Wade and John added more strength into the mix, firmly keeping the pissed off Viper at bay.

"Randy, calm down . . ." said Ted as he emerged as the voice of reason, standing in front of the seething Apex Predator in order to get his attention. "It's not worth it . . . Trust me, I know it's tempting, but it's definitely not worth it."

"You don't know that . . ." said Randy as he watched as Heyman began dragging Brock away from the season. "Just let me at him already!"

"No!" exclaimed Ted as he shook his head. "What would Alanna and 'Manda think if they saw you like this right now?"

At the mention of two of the most important females in his life, Randy looked at Ted with a hard gaze. He soon let out a small breath before shaking his head. Wade, Cody, and John slowly let the tall man go, but as soon as they loosened their grips, Randy moved away from them and got Brock from behind him, nailing him with a hit to the back of the head that sent him down to the ramp below.

"What the hell did you do!" exclaimed Heyman as he looked down at his fallen client.

"What?" asked Randy as he shrugged his shoulders. "What goes around comes around."

And with that, Randy left the scene, a small smirk showing across his face as he walked through the curtain.
