Chapter 30 The Two Visits
Normal POV
"What are you doing in here?" asked 'Manda with a smirk as she walked into their bedroom with a jelly filled donut in one hand and a clean napkin in the other. Randy looked away from his phone to see her slowly approaching him, a small smirk coming across his face as he patted the empty space right beside him on the bed.
"Come over here to find out," said Randy as a small smirk came across his face, his voice very inviting as he continued patting the empty space. Amanda complied with his wish. She turned around to close the door before getting into bed, sliding comfortably into the spot next to the Viper, her head resting right on his shoulder as he continued looking at his phone's screen. "I'm just scrolling through a few old photos, nothing big."
"Uh huh . . ." said Amanda as she bit into her donut, the red jelly starting to ooze out of the pastry. "See any good photos you took that caught your eye?"
"There have been a few . . ." said Randy as he wrapped his free arm around Amanda's frame, his hand laying snugly right on the side of her baby bump. "Do you remember this photo I took of you at my birthday party?"
Amanda moved the phone over so that she had a better look at the screen. The screen displayed her image, one of the last photos that were taken of her before she became pregnant. She was shown leaning against the wall with one hand placed on her slender hip, while the other stayed right at her side. She was staring straight at the camera, her blue eyes looking very intent.
"Oh yeah . . . I remember this photo," said Amanda as she let out a small chuckle. "I can't believe it's been more than five months since that photo's been taken. . . Time really does fly huh?"
"Five months . . . do you know what this means?" asked Randy as a big grin came across his face. "You're almost there baby! You're more than halfway through your pregnancy already!"
"Oh . . . oh shit you're right!" said Amanda as realization dawned on her, her eyes widening in shock. "I can't believe it's been this long already. . . And we haven't even done a sonogram yet!"
"Don't worry . . ." said Randy as he pecked her forehead. "I can just ask my grandparents if there are any supernatural clinics near the ranch. If there ends up being one nearby, we'll make it a priority to pay a visit before we have to meet back up with the roster. If there isn't a clinic, well we'll just wait a little longer before we do a sonogram . . . How's that?"
"You have everything thought out huh?" asked Amanda as she took another bite out of her donut.
"You said it, not me," said Randy as he tapped his finger on the screen and scrolled to the next photo, which was also taken during his party. It was originally supposed to be of him taking a selfie, but Amanda photo-bombed him and planted a kiss on his cheek just as the photo was taken. "The only selfie I was planning to take on my birthday and you ruined it."
"I didn't ruin it . . ." said Amanda with a smirk as she snuggled a little closer to him. ". . . I just made it extra special."
"Uh huh . . ." said Randy as he let out a small chuckle . . . and then Nate suddenly opens the door and pops his head into the room. "Great . . . what do you want Nate?"
"Now is that anyway to greet the little brother you know and love?" asked Nate with a pout as he did his best puppy eyes at him, which only got him a hard glare from Randy in response. "Damn that stare of yours is mean."
"I asked this once, and I'll ask it again," said Randy as he let put his phone back into his pocket. "What do you want Nate?"
"I'm just here to tell you that we've finally reached grandma and grandpa's driveway," said Nate as he shook his head. "Grandma and grandpa's long, and I mean LONG, driveway."
"We're finally here?" asked Randy, still not believing what his brother was saying. "How long before we finally get to the ranch?"
"Hal says another 10-15 minutes, tops," answered Nate as he shrugged his shoulders. "But you should see the area we're in. It's amazing!"
"I can already smell the forest from here," said Randy, sarcasm evident in his voice as Amanda began to leave the bed. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to the front of the bus. The front windows offer the best few," said Amanda as she finished the last of her donut. "Aren't you coming too?"
"I've already been to their ranch once before. I've seen the area around it before." said Randy as he sat up and rested his back against the bed's headboard.
"Yeah, but I bet you haven't been here in years," said Amanda as she walked over to the door with her arms crossed over her chest. "Am I right or am I right?"
"Well . . . you do make a good point," said Randy as he quickly jumped out of bed. "I am curious to see how much the place has changed since the last time I've been here. They were renovating when I last visited, so who knows how much they changed about the place."
"Well . . . if you come to the front of the bus, you'll see how much the place has changed since the last time we visited," says Nate as he suddenly popped his head through the doorway once again. "We've reached the main house, you two. Come check it out."
"Alright, next time you decide to pop your head into my bedroom, I'm going to punch you in your face." Randy threatened as he held up a clench fist. Nate instantly paled before running to the front, muttering something about scary older brothers under his breath.
"Do you have to be so mean to your brother?" asked Amanda as the two felt the bus come to a stop. "He was just telling us that we finally have reached your grandparents' place. That's all."
"Are you really asking me that question?" asked Randy as the two walked over to the front of the bus, passing by a sleeping Alanna, who was sleeping in one of the seats at the table. "You are really asking me that question, when you've known Nate for all your life just like I have?"
"Uh . . . good point," said Amanda as she shook her head. The two walked over to the front windows, their eyes going wide as soon as they looked at the large house before them. It was an expansive, one floor, wooden style home with a lot of windows. It was definitely a house that could put most celebrity's houses to shame. "This house is beautiful . . ."
"I'll say . . ." said Nate as Hal finally opened the door. "I hope grandma and grandpa have a pool."
"Is that the only thing you currently care about right now?" asked Amanda as she raised an eyebrow at the younger Orton, who was already down the stairs and halfway out the door.
"YES!" exclaimed Nate as he left the bus and hightailed it toward the house steps. Amanda could only shake her head in response before turning around to see that Randy already had his sleeping little girl in his arms.
"Hey, when you come back to get your bags, can you ask your grandparents where I can park this bus?" asked Hal as Amanda and Randy disembarked.
"Sure thing!" called Randy as the two made their way to the steps. When they got to the top, they saw Nate knocking on the door a few times before placing his hands on his hips, as if he was tired that no one was immediately answering the door. "Give it some time Nate. Someone will answer the door eventually."
"I know . . . you're right," said Nate as he shook his head. "I don't know . . . I'm just real excited to see grandpa again, you know?"
"Oh I know . . ." said Randy as a small smile came across his face. "It's been way too long since we've seen him if you ask me."
"True that . . ." said Nate as he shook his head in agreement, and then he noticed Alanna still sleeping on Randy's shoulder. "Um . . . wouldn't Alanna want to be awake to greet her great-grandparents?"
"Let her sleep . . ." was all Randy said as they listened to a pair of footsteps that was coming up from behind the door. The door soon opened to reveal Rita, who was in her normal youthful form, and Bob, who was also in his younger form. Bob looked similar to both Randy and Nate, especially in the stoic facial expression he was currently showing on his face, as well as the fit frame he was currently sporting, considering the fact that he was shirtless and in a pair of swim trunks.
"Aw . . . you guys finally made it!" exclaimed Rita with a grin as she pulled Nate in for a hug. "I bet it was a long journey wasn't it?"
"A thousand miles of driving to be exact," said Nate as he hugged his grandmother. He then turned to his grandfather, who only looked at him with a small smirk on his face. "I know you're still wet and all, grandpa, but I'm going to hug you anyway."
"I figured you would . . ." was all he said as he let himself get hugged by Nate. As soon as the two were finished with their hg, they turned to see Rita already hugging Randy, who was still holding a sleeping Alanna. "How long has she been asleep?"
"She's been asleep for a good while now . . ." answered Amanda as she hugged Rita. "I think it'll be awhile before she wakes up again."
"I see . . . and how is the future mom doing?" asked Bob as he walked over to her with his arms outstretched. "Don't worry about me being wet. I think Nate's shirt made for an excellent towel."
"I'm doing fine Bob . . ." said Amanda as the two hugged. "A bit bloated, but I'm fine."
"Ah . . . the wonders of pregnancy," said Rita as she let out a small breath while Bob greeted his tattoo sleeve wearing grandson. "Well come on inside you guys. Don't be strangers."
"Uh . . . just let us get our bags first," said Randy as he handed Alanna over to 'Manda. "And uh grandpa, you wouldn't happen to know a spot where the bus driver could park our tour bus do ya?"
"Oh yeah . . . there's an open barn we just had renovated down the pathway. He can park the bus in there," said Bob as he walked inside. As Nate and Randy walked back to the bus to get the luggage, Amanda followed Rita and Bob into the house. As Bob headed to the pool at the back of the house, Rita gave Amanda a quick tour of the house.
"So Amanda, do you know what gender your child's going to be?" asked Rita with a hopeful smile as they walked into the hallway where all the bedrooms were located. "Is it going to be a boy or a girl?"
"Randy hopes it'll be a boy. I'm hoping it'll be a girl." answered Amanda as they stepped into one of the roomy bedrooms.
"Hoping?" asked Rita as she raised an eyebrow. "You mean . . . you haven't gone in for a sonogram yet?"
"Nope . . . we haven't really found the time to do that just yet . . ." said Amanda apologetically as she put Alanna right on the bed. "This will be Alanna's room right?"
"Yeah . . . this'll be her room," said Rita as she walked back out into the hallway. "I'm guessing the busy travel schedule really hurts you when you're preparing for the arrival of a baby right?"
"Yep . . . we haven't really been preparing so well these past few months," said Amanda as she shook her head. "Preparations would go a lot more smoothly if we just knew what the baby's gender was . . . you know?"
"Oh I know . . . I've been in your shoes before . . ." said Rita as she shook her head, just as Randy and Nate appeared at the end of the hallway. "And I think I can help you with your little sonogram issue."
"You can?" asked Amanda as Nate set Alanna's things down in her room. "You know a clinic that caters to supernaturals around here?"
"Yep . . . there's a supernatural clinic just down the main road from here. All you have to do is turn right when you reach the road, drive a good five miles, and it should be there on your left," answered Rita as she pointed her thumb to the door behind her. "Nate, this will be your room."
"Thanks grandma . . ." said Nate, before he walked into the room and closed the door behind him.
"Grandma, do you need to have an appointment at the clinic in order to get in?" asked Randy as the three continued walking down the hallway.
"Oh no . . . you just need to walk in, sign your name, pay a small fee, and that's basically it . . ." said Rita as they stopped at a third door. "This will be your room you two . . . Are you planning to go to the clinic today?"
"Yeah . . . I think that's a good idea . . ." said Amanda as she and Randy exchanged a quick glance with each other. "It'll be nice just to get it over with and finally know what the baby's gender is going to be once and for all."
"Alright then . . . we can lend you a car from the garage and you guys can be on your way," said Rita as she shook her head. "The place closes at nine, so you have a few more hours to get it done today."
"Wait a minute . . . you just said 'a' car," said Randy as he narrowed his eyes for a minute. "That sounds like more than one car . . . Care to explain?"
"Well . . . I finally learned how to drive," says Rita as a big smile came across his face. "I've been driving for myself for a few years now, and it's been pretty great."
"I thought you didn't like the idea of driving!" said Randy as Amanda walked into their room to check it out.
"Well . . . at first I didn't," said Rita as she crossed her arms. "But then your grandfather kept urging me to learn to drive. I just got tired of him badgering me about it, so I went to a nearby driving school and well, the rest is history."
"Wow . . . look at you adapting to the modern ages grandma!" said Nate with a cheeky smile as he popped his head into the hallway.
"Are you saying I'm old?" Rita asked him bluntly as she narrowed her eyes at him.
"No . . ." said Nate as he tried to act all cool about it. Rita walked over to him and grabbed him by his collar to drag him down the hallway, much to her grandson's shock. "What did I do wrong?"
"You didn't do anything wrong . . . I just need someone to help me organize my book collection, my very LARGE book collection," said Rita as she shot him a large sneaky grin. "You're gonna love it Nate."
"Oh joy . . ." said Nate as the two disappeared from the scene. Randy only shook his head as he lugged the bags into the room. He looked up to see Amanda looking out the window, her hands right on her bump as she looked out into the beautiful landscape that surrounded the house.
"So baby . . ." said Randy with a smile as he dropped their bags by the king sized bed and walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her, letting his hands rest on top of hers. "Are you ready to do this?"
"Of course I am . . ." said Amanda as she pecked his cheek. "I want to know what the baby's gender is already."
"Don't worry honey . . ." said Randy as he pecked her lips. "In a few hours, we'll know whether or not the baby is a boy or a girl. Just you wait."
Amanda's POV; An hour and a half later
"Alright babe, here it is . . ."
I look up from my sketchbook to see that Randy had pulled the car into a parking lot that was right next to a large, rectangular wooden building with sliding doors as its' entryway. Randy parks the Chevy truck in the spot right in front of the entrance, as if he wanted to tell the receptionist at the desk 'Hello, we're here!'
"So this is the clinic your grandmother talked to us about . . ." I say with a smirk as I fiddled with the amulet around my neck. Randy and I were in our disguises once again. Even though it was a supernatural clinic, we weren't taking any chances. A WWE fan is a WWE fan, and when they want to get a photo of their favorite superstar, they'll get their photo. . . No ifs, ands, or buts about it. "They don't even have a name on their front."
"It's the same with most supernatural clinics . . ." he tells me with a smirk as he cuts the truck's engine. "They like to go incognito . . ."
"Then how do supernaturals find out about them . . . ?" I ask as we unbuckle our seatbelts. "Do you just hear about them from others?"
"Actually . . . yeah, that's exactly it." he tells me with a smirk as we get out of the car. We make our way into clinic, the whole waiting area looking like a sterile with its' eggshell white walls and matching white furniture.
"Hello . . . How may I help you?" asks the woman at the desk as she puts her hair into a ponytail. Even though she was seated, we could tell that she was a full figured woman, and through the short looking skirt and cleavage bearing top she wore, we could tell that she was someone that didn't mind revealing some skin for the public.
"Uh yeah . . . my girlfriend here is pregnant and we're here for a sonogram for her . . ." Randy tells her, obviously ignoring the fact that she was eyeing him with a predatory gaze.
"Alright then . . . I just need her to sign her name and pay the $40 entrance fee," said the woman as she handed me a clipboard. I quickly sign my name before Randy could even pull out his wallet. "Oh . . . you can just go down the hallway to the fifth door on your right. That's where the scan will take place . . . Your boyfriend here can handle the rest of the business here at reception."
"O . . . kay," I say unsurely as I turned to Randy. All he does is shrug his shoulders as he pulls out his wallet, his eyes showing that he was definitely uncaring when it came to the receptionist. Leaving him to deal with her, I walked down the hall and into the designated room to see a medical bed, a desk, and a digital monitor. Besides a few pregnancy posters and a few chairs here and there, there was nothing else in this room.
"Now . . . why is a big, strong man like you hiding your true self with that amulet around your neck?" I hear the receptionist ask in a very sultry voice. To top it all off, she was very loud, even with my enhanced hearing. "Why are you hiding yourself?"
"Let's just say I'm very well known in my profession and that it would be detrimental to both me and my girlfriend if we revealed our true selves to the public," I hear Randy tell her in a serious tone of voice, a VERY serious tone of voice. "Now . . . I've paid the fee, so . . . we're done here."
I hear him step away with conviction, appearing at the doorway with a stoic expression on his face as he approached me with his hands in his pockets.
"She's a succubus isn't she . . .?" I ask with a knowing look on my face as I resist the urge to shake my head. I only guessed she was a succubus through the way she was dressed. Her flirting with my man just cemented it.
"Oh yeah . . ." he tells me with a shake of his head. "Even if I had a wedding band on my finger, she probably still would come after me."
"For some reason, people say that married men are the more sought after ones . . ." I say with a small shrug. ". . . Especially if they're hot."
"I may not be married . . . but I am hot." he tells me with a smirk as he pecks my cheek, just as the doctor appears in the doorway, reading a document very close to her face.
"Hello . . ." says the doctor as she moved the document away from her plump looking face. "My name is Dr. Lawrence . . . I understand you two have come in for a sonogram yes?"
"That's correct . . ." I say with a shrug as I take a seat at the medical bed. "So . . . how exactly is the sonogram supposed to happen?"
"Hmm . . . You're not the only pregnant woman to have asked me that question . . ." says Dr. Lawrence as she moves a chair and puts it in between the bed and the monitor. "The process is actually quite simple . . . For starters, I'm a witch, and I specialize in scanning and visual projection spells."
"Scanning and visual projection?" Randy asks her with an eyebrow raised as he takes a seat in a chair on the other side of the bed.
"Yep . . . to put it simply, I'll be the active sonogram machine . . ." she tells me with a small reassuring smirk as she turns the monitor on. "I'll use a spell to turn my right hand into a scanner, and I'll move my hand around your stomach just like how a regular sonogram specialist would use a scanner on a human pregnant woman. . . I'll then cast a projection spell on my left hand and place it on the monitor. . . What I scan with my right hand will be projected onto this monitor by my left hand. Do you understand?"
"I understand fully." I say with a shake of my head as I swung my legs onto the bed.
"Hey . . . as long as it's a woman doing this scan, I'm good." says Randy as he lies back in his seat.
"He has protectiveness issues doesn't he?" Dr. Lawrence asks me with a knowing smirk as she began waving her hands around in certain patterns, each one distinctly different from the other.
"Well . . . he's my soul-mate after all, so I guess it's part of the job description," I say with a shrug as I lay back in the bed. "Plus, we have had . . . a few issues in the past when it comes to me getting attention from other guys."
"I see . . . I won't pry any further," she tells us instantly as she notices the dark look coming across his face, even with his disguise on. ". . . Alright, the spells are ready . . . Can you roll up your shirt please?"
"Sure . . ." I say as I take hold of the hem of my shirt. I roll up my shirt, letting my bloated tummy out from under the fabric. The doctor gently touches my stomach, her fingers gently skimming across my skin before the whole palm touches it. Even though her hand was definitely cold, it didn't bug me not one bit, not just because being a vampire allowed me to not get bugged by changes of temperature or the weather, but because up on the screen was the sonogram of our baby, right inside my womb. "Oh my God . . ."
"That's our baby . . ." I hear Randy whisper in awe as the doctor begins to move her hand around my stomach. "That's our baby right on the screen."
"That's correct . . . and from what I can see so far, your baby is developing well," says Dr. Lawrence as she observes the monitor. "The head's all there . . . so is the neck . . . torso . . . the four arms . . . ."
"Wait a minute . . ." I say suddenly as I scrunch my eyebrows in shock as I look at the screen. "Did you just say four arms? That's not normal."
"I know . . . I just didn't read the monitor correctly," she tells us with a small chuckle as she shook her head. "There are four arms in your womb alright, but they're all not coming from one baby."
"Uh wait . . . what do you mean?" Randy asks her suspiciously as he switched his glances between the doctor and the monitor.
"There are four arms in your girlfriend's womb, but it's not coming from one baby," she tells us as she looks at the monitor. "The arms are coming from two babies. You two are expecting twins."
"Holy shit!" I say in absolute shock as I turned to Randy. "Twins?"
"Hey . . . I told you that having more than one baby at the same time was possible," he tells me as he tries to do a little smirk, but he's so shocked that he couldn't manage it. "To be honest, I didn't think it would happen on the first try."
"Don't be celebrating just yet you two . . ." says the doctor as she turns to us with a smirk on her face. "I haven't told you the twins' gender yet."
"Oh yeah . . . we've been at odds about our unborn kids' gender for weeks now," Randy tells her with a confidant smirk on his face. "So the twins are boys right? We're gonna have twin boys right?"
"Nope . . ." she tells him with a knowing smirk. "Congratulations you two, you are going to be the proud parents of twin girls! Isn't that exciting?"
"Did you just say twin girls?" I ask as the biggest smile I've worn in months come across my face. "We're going to have twin girls?"
"That's correct . . ." she tells me with a nod of her head. "Aren't you two excited?"
"YES!" I say with a grin on my face as I rolled down my shirt, just as a loud thump came from somewhere on my left. I turn around to see that Randy was face first on the ground, his eyes wide in shock as he quickly got back to his feet. "Are . . . are you okay?"
"I'm fine . . . I'm just letting the idea of having two more daughters coming into my life sink in, that's all," he tells me quickly as he dusted himself off. "It's no big deal."
"Uh huh . . ." I say with a smirk as I swing my legs off the table. "You could have fooled me."
They're expecting twins! TWIN GIRLS!
