Aaaaaaaaa. I'm tired. And I have to march this morning. Great. Love band *sarcasm*
"Hey! Feliciano!" Lovino called out as he headed towards Feliciano's room. He opened the door and walked in. "Get your ass up right now, dammit! We're going out to eat tonight!"
Feliciano's room was pitch black, the windows covered entirely by black drapes, allowing no sunlight in. The werewolf was curled up under his darkly colored blankets. "Going out... Go without me," he murmured, shifting slightly to see his brother's outline silhouetted in the doorway. "You will enjoy yourself far more if I am far away from you..."
"Fuck no," Lovino retorted as he walked over to the window and threw open the curtains to let the sunlight stream into the room, instantly brightening it. "You're going to go, dammit. Got a nice surprise."
The younger moaned and pulled his comforter over his head. "Please do not force me into something we both know will end as a horrible disaster for the poor people who are only trying to enjoy themselves..."
"You know, I think that the whole fucking point of forcing some bastard to do something is to NOT ask for their damn permission," Lovino answered, then walked over to the bed and yanked all of the blankets and covers off, throwing them into the closet and leaning against it with his back to keep Feliciano from getting in and retrieving them. "Now get your damn shoes on and let's go! Now!"
Feliciano sighed and looked up at his brother. He only had on a black tank top and dark grey boxers. The colors made him appear even paler than he usually was. Blinking slowly, he sat up, putting his feet on the floor. "... Why are you so insistent that I go with you, dear brother? You have not wanted to be near me since... since everything that happened..."
"I…. was being stupid. Now just fucking come with me… please."
"..." A soft sigh slid from Feliciano's mouth. "Very well." He stood up and moved to his closet door, gently moving Lovino to the side before pulling it open and picking out more dreary clothes and putting them on. "Where are we going, dear brother?" he asked, walking towards the bathroom.
Lovino calmly watched him. "You'll see."
Feliciano watched him suspiciously for a moment. "... I'm not sure I trust this... But I suppose what remains of my shattered faith rests entirely with you, so I will go along with this." He went into the bathroom and shut the door, going to reapply his eye liner before they left.
Lovino rolled his eyes as he grabbed Feliciano's art kit on the way out (without his brother's knowledge) then forced Feliciano to get into the car and drove them to the local conservatory and paid for two tickets. "In here," Lovino said as he made Feliciano walk into the building then shut the door behind the two of them.
"Brother... why are we... here...?" Feliciano asked, looking around at the butterflies fluttering around them. His eyes followed a bright blue one, watching it flitter around him. Slowly, he reached out towards the beautiful creature, allowing it to land gracefully on his hand.
The older twin smiled a little as he watched. "Thought you needed to get out for a while. Take some time to yourself," He answered as he held out the art kit for Feliciano to see and take if he wanted to. "Problem with that, dumbass?"
Feliciano glanced over and saw his art things. He said nothing, however, as he took the kit and slowly sat down as to not scare away the delicate insect. He brought the butterfly closer to his face, looking over it's details with careful inspection. He opened his sketch book, took out a pencil, then began to draw the winged thing resting on the back of his hand.
Not wanting to disturb his brother, Lovino sat down a good distance away on a bench then leaned back to watch.
The younger didn't seem to notice his twin's movement, as he continued to sketch the butterfly.
Lovino watched until he yawned and his eyes slowly began to drift shut until he was asleep. still leaned back with his head hanging back over the back part of the bench completely unaware of everything, even as a large purple-red butterfly flew over and perched itself on his nose.
The flash of color caught Feliciano's attention. Finishing his picture, he looked over. He stared silently for a moment, then moved closer, the blue butterfly flying away as he went to a different position to draw the creature that had perched itself on his twin.
Lovino murmured something as he twitched then settled down.
A short while later, Feliciano finished his picture and simply sat, watching his twin sleeping. He began talking to himself softly. "Dear brother looks so very fragile... So breakable... As though the smallest thing could shatter him to pieces..."
Lovino continued to sleep, unconsciously shooing the butterfly away only for it to land on his nose again when he set his hand back to his side, causing his glasses to become slightly askew from the action.
Feliciano reached out and gently fixed Lovino's glasses. His stomach then chose to grumble and he sighed. "Brother. Dear Brother," he said, shaking his twin's shoulder. "Wake up. It is time for somber nourishment."
Lovino grumbled and shifted around as he slowly blinked open sleepy eyes and glanced at Feliciano as he rubbed them. "Huh….? I seriously fell asleep here….?"
"Yes, brother. A butterfly very much enjoyed your nose as a resting place." He picked up his sketch book and showed him the picture he had drawn of the purple-red butterfly on his twin's face.
Lovino blinked then grumbled to himself. "Ugh… damn bug… thinking they own the fucking place… Ready to go?"
"I have been prepared for this moment the moment my life began."
"The hell's that supposed to mean?"
Feliciano sighed dejectedly. "It means yes, dear brother."
Lovino blinked again, then shrugged. "Fine. Pick where you want to go. Just as long as it's none of that German shit."
"What I desire is inconsequential. What is it you yearn for, my dear brother?"
"The hell's that supposed to mean?"
"It means I am curious to know your hearts desire."
"…. Just pick something will you?"
The werewolf sighed again. "Very well. I feel as though the warmth and love one receives from their native land's culinary arts would perhaps heal my twisted broken heart, if only a small amount. To make the pain I carry with me bearable."
Lovino glanced at him. "… fine. Pasta and pizza it is then."
"Let us be on our way from this home of winged beauties."
Lovino rolled his eyes as he headed to the car, started it up, and drove off once the two of them were inside and buckled up.
Meanwhile across town, Alfred was running around frantically, searching high and low for his cranky British boyfriend. He happened to spot Francis outside a flower shop and sprinted up to him. "Francis! Francis! Have you seen Arthur!? I-I can't find him anywhere!" he cried. His face showed his distress, telling the Frenchman this was absolutely not the time to try and make a joke.
"He's not at home?" Francis asked in concern. "That's…. not like him…."
"A-And his front door was wide open! It looks like there was a little scuffle, but it doesn't look like anyone left and nothing was damaged!" Alfred began to pace back and forth, wringing his hands. "What if he's been kidnapped?!"
"Hmm…. I see… We'll have to get everyone to look for him…." Francis muttered. "Think you can find a good place for all of us to meet?"
"Arthur's house. Everyone meet there. Maybe Kiku, Lovino, or Feliciano could smell out whoever took him."
"Oui. I'll meet you there." The French vampire ran off.
Alfred ran the other direction, off to find more of his friends, his worry for his boyfriend only growing, tearing at his heart. Who had taken him? Why? What was being done to him right at that moment? He couldn't believe he had failed so horribly. What kind of hero let the love of their life be kidnapped?
"So is this the merman?" A sudden, random voice said.
The American's eyes widened and he froze for an instantly, then quickly spun to see who had spoken. "Who's there?" he demanded, his hands curling into fists. How did this stranger know what he was? Was the owner of the voice involved in what had happened to Arthur?
"It's him. You have what we need to get him?" Another voice asked.
"Think so. Finally we can cross him off the list." The first voice said as something in his hands started to glow.
"W-What are you doing!? Get away from me!" Alfred yelled, his eyes locked onto the glowing light. His fear activated his adrenaline and scales formed on his legs. He tensed, then burst towards whatever was watching him, ready to fight for all he was worth. "GIVE ME BACK ARTHUR!"
However, Alfred was ignored as the glow changed to blinding then faded away. "He's done. Let's go."
Alfred fell to the ground, white spots popping before his eyes, feeling dizzy and sick to his stomach as all his strength drained from him. He swayed for a moment, then collapsed onto his side. His scales faded away and he was soon unconscious, laying in the middle of the side walk.
Kiku, who happened to be coming down the street at the time, gasped and ran over to him and started to check him. "Alfred-kun! Are you alright?!"
But, unfortunately for the kitsune, the group had yet to leave and while he was distracted by the unconscious merman, they used another spell on him, knocking him out and causing him to fall down onto Alfred, the two of them now laying there on the sidewalk.
Gilbert was attempting to purchase some beer in the liquor store. Seeing as he was failing rather horribly and not feeling like spending a night in jail, he sighed and left the store empty handed, sticking said empty hands into his pockets, pouting at the unfairness as he walking back towards the vampires' apartment.
He was aware he was being watched as soon as the eyes where on him. He continued on casually, pretending nothing was wrong, though he was listening hard ,trying to pinpoint their location in the crowd around him.
Then, at that moment, his phone started to ring.
Letting out a shaky breath, having been startled by the ringing, Gilbert took his phone from his pocket and flipped it open. "Ja?" he asked, his voice cracking slightly as his crimson eyes scanned the crowed, looking for all the world as though he was a normal teenager simply looking for a friend rather than a vampire looking for whatever was after him.
"Oh my Gil~. Did I catch you at a bad time?" Francis' voice spoke from the phone.
"I'm not sure yet, Franny," Gilbert murmured, beginning to walk again, staying in the crowd. "Something is after me, I can feel it. But I can't see it anywhere."
"….. you too? Alfred said he thinks something happened to Arthur. Everyone's supposed to meet at Arthur's house. Think you can get there without being followed?"
"In all honesty? No, I don't think I can. But something weird is definitely going on. I'm going to call Ludwig and tell him to keep an eye out. Get a hold of whoever you can and warn them to watch their backs. I think someone may be after us, Francis. Be careful, alright?"
"Oui. Make sure you stay safe too. Good luck. I'll get back to you when I can." Then Francis hung up.
Gilbert quickly dialed his brother, chewing his lip nervously as he waiting for the other to pick up.
The call was picked up in a matter of seconds. "Ja? Who is it?"
"Are you kidding me, Ludwig? You really didn't recognize my phone number and I've had it for years, but you memorized Feliciano's number the first time he gave it to you!?" Gilbert demanded.
"I know it's your phone, Gilbert…" Ludwig sighed, "But after the last five times you've left your phone somewhere only to have some stranger call me I had to check first. Not to mention that prank Alfred had pulled before with your phone."
"... And what prank was this?" the albino scowled.
"Just him trying to pretend to be you. Now why did you call?"
"Lame. Anyway, I was calling to tell you-" Something slammed into Gilbert, sending him sprawling and making him let go of his phone. As he had been talking, the vampire had unknowingly moved away from the crowd, leaving himself defenseless to attack.
Just like Alfred and Kiku before him, there was bright flash of light to blind the Prussian vampire as one of the men picked up Gilbert's phone and disconnected the call, then when they were finished with the spell, ran off.
Left alone, Gilbert managed only a few shaky steps before he fell to the ground and passed out.
Back at the vampires' apartment Ludwig glared at the phone before grabbing his jacket and rushing out. After running around searching for his brother, he saw something up ahead and ran up to discover the still unconscious bodies of Alfred and Kiku.
As Ludwig approached, Alfred began to stir, groaning softly.
"Alfred…? What happened?" Ludwig asked as he started to check the two of them.
The American held his head as he slowly sat up. "Ugh..."
Ludwig frowned more as he watched. "We have to get out of here. Come on." He gently picked the two of them up and ran off after calling Francis and Antonio and ordering them to go locate Gilbert.
Alfred tried to speak, but all that came out was an unintelligible mumbling.
"Ugh…. Dammit, Feliciano… making me go get the damn food…." Lovino grumbled and cursed to himself as he walked down the street back to his car. "Next time, HIS ass is going to get it!"
A hand suddenly tapped him on the shoulder. When Lovino turned around, he was slammed into his car. He saw a flash of white light, then he was released and whatever had held him was gone and the werewolf was again alone.
Lovino blinked as he looked around then shook it off and headed home. After checking to make sure he wasn't followed, he pulled into the driveway and started inside. Why was he feeling so strange…?
Antonio happened to turn the corner a short distance away. He spotted his boyfriend instantly, a bright smile forming on his face as he waved his arms around excitedly. "Lovi~! Lovi Lovi~!" he called cheerfully, bouncing towards the Italian.
"What the hell are you so damn happy for, you bastard?" Lovino asked, confused, as he started getting the bag out of his car.
"Because I get to see you, of course~!"
Lovino rolled his eyes and went to reply but then paused and stared over at the tree. "SQUIRREL!" He exclaimed then raced over and glared up at the furry creature. "D-Dammit! Look at that little fucker's smug ass face! Taunting me! That's fucking it! I'm getting the little asshole right now!"
The Spaniard blinked in surprise. "Lovi...?"
Lovino growled as he circled the tree to find a way to climb up it. "You saw that right?! That little fucker's fucking taunting me!- HEY! Knock off your fucking squeaking and shit, you dumbass squirrel! I'm going to fucking get you, dammit!"
"Lovi, that squirrel isn't taunting you. It's just scared from your yelling."
"He IS fucking taunting me! He fucking got to you! Didn't he!"
"Um..." Antonio picked up the discarded food bag. "Let's go inside, querido," he suggested, walking towards the house.
Lovino shot one last dirty glare at the squirrel, then followed Antonio inside.
The vampire went into the kitchen, setting the bag on the counter. "Feli's probably hungry. You should call him down. By the way, hows the plan to get him back to normal going? Has it had any success at all yet?"
"He drew some butterflies today. Not sure if that fucking counts or not," Lovino answered, then headed out of the room and kicked the door to Feliciano's room once he reached it. "Hey! Feliciano! Get the hell down here and eat!"
From inside the room, Feliciano's reply flowed out to his twin. "While I may fulfill my mortal desires, my immortal soul remains unattended." Then the doorknob to his room turned and opened, allowing the younger Italian out into the hall.
"Whatever," Lovino retorted with an eyeroll. "You go down and eat while I making that fucking squirrel pay for taunting me."
"... Is that a metaphor?"
"Why the fuck would that be a damn metaphor?!" Lovino snapped as he started heading back down stairs. "The asshole was taunting me! Squeaking and all that shit!"
Feliciano reached out and gently took his twin's hand, patting the back of it lightly. "You've come undone."
Lovino glared at him and yanked his hand free. "The fuck are you talking about? Ugh... Come on. We're almost to the damn kitchen."
The twins entered the room where Antonio was waiting. The Spaniard smiled and waved in greeting. "Hola, Feli. How have you been?" he asked. He hadn't talked to Feliciano much, just as weirded out by him as everyone else by his change of attitude.
"As well as one can be when they live in ceaseless torture all the long days," the Italian responded simply.
"Uh... Yeah... Good... I think..." Antonio said, blinking.
Lovino rolled his eyes and mouthed to the vampire, 'don't fucking ask' before inching towards the door and slip outside.
"Brother dear, come sit by me," Feliciano said, sitting at one of the stools in front of the counter. "You need nourishment."
"Fuck no! I'm busy, dammit!"
Feliciano sighed softly, looking hurt. "Very well... I am sorry for worrying over your well being. I shall not interfere again."
Lovino flinched as a guilty look appeared on his face before he returned to the counter and hugged Feliciano. "S-Sorry, dammit… Don't be upset with me…."
"I cannot be upset with you, dear brother," Feliciano murmured.
"T-Thanks…." Lovino mumbled as he slowly let go then tensed up and started growling as the doorbell rang. He ran towards the front door, but instead of letting out a howl, he let out a loud bark instead.
Antonio and Feliciano glanced at each other, then followed the elder Italian to the front door. "I've never heard you bark before, Lovi. Are you feeling alright?" Antonio asked the other, worry filling his voice.
However, Lovino didn't hear him as he continued growling and glared at the door as his ears began changing to floppy dog ears and a slightly curled at the tip dog tail grew as the Italian changed and starting to shrink slightly.
Antonio quickly wrapped his arms around Lovino, picking him up and holding him.
In a matter of seconds, Lovino was a good sized dog and was currently barking loudly, straining and squirming to get at the door.
The two stared at Lovino in shock, then glanced at each other.
"This is... not good," Antonio said, his eyes on the dog in his arms.
"Perhaps we should take him to see Yao. He might be the only being capable of curing my dear brother," Feliciano suggested.
"Yeah, it's worth a shot," the vampire agreed quickly.
Hearing the two talking, Lovino stopped barking and looked back at them, whined to be put down.
"It's okay, Lovi," Antonio cooed, petting Lovino's head. "We're going to see Yao now, alright?"
Lovino watched him and nodded before trying to bury his face into Antonio's shirt.
The three arrived at Yao's store just as Ludwig did, the German carrying a mumbling Alfred and unconscious Kiku over his shoulders.
Antonio held Lovino securely, figuring that the Italian would most likely try to attack Ludwig.
"Oh, the love of my heart and better half of my soul," Feliciano sighed, moving towards the blonde. "Strange things are afoot. Our friends have been endangered and our very lives could be at stake. Surely you have some thought of how we could fix this?"
"Er…. What exactly do you mean, Feliciano…?" Ludwig asked in confusion as Lovino peeked his head out and started growling at Ludwig, while at the same time Francis came up to them while carrying Gilbert.
"Hm? What happened?" The French vampire asked, then cooed when he saw the dog. "Aww~! Isn't he the most adorable thing~? What are you doing with that little cutie, Toni? Cheating on your little wolf boyfriend~?"
Antonio rolled his eyes. "This IS Lovi, Francis," he explained.
"… but that's a dog."
Before Antonio could answer, Feliciano appeared at Francis' side. "Indeed he is a dog. Something has happened to my poor, dear brother. No longer is he the great majestic alpha that I follow with supreme confidence. Now he is merely a creature lower than myself. He will require our assistance to return to his former glory," the younger informed the Frenchman.
Francis yelped lightly as he jumped back in surprise, accidentally dropping Gilbert in the process. "O-Oh… R-Really?"
However, Lovino growled in annoyance at the statement and angrily barked at his brother and tried to squirm free of Antonio's arms to smack him with his paws.
Feliciano ignored his brother, instead nodding gravely. "Really, dear friend."
Finally, Lovino managed to squirm free and darted over to his brother and smacked his leg hard before dragging a paw down his face when he had Feliciano's attention.
"I hold your glasses in a safe location until you have returned to your mortal being," Feliciano said, patting Lovino's head gently.
Lovino huffed and shook his head as he smacked Feliciano's hand with his paw, then padded over to the door, pushed it open, and ran inside to go find Yao.
The nature spirit was in the kitchen, growing a few plants. Without turning around, he said, "Hello, Lovino. I see you've all gotten into a bit of trouble, haven't you?" The Chinese man turned around and walked to the dog standing in the doorway, kneeling down and gently petting his head.
Lovino stared at him as he backed up and tilted his head in confusion.
Yao smiled. "Yes, I know it's you, Lovino."
Lovino whined and went to paw at his ear but stopped when he began whimpering and shaking.
Yao quickly retrieved a blanket and draped it over Lovino's shoulders. "How are your glasses working out?" he asked.
"F-Fine…" Lovino panted as he turned back to a normal human form. "F-Feliciano has them…. B-but what the HELL was that dog shit?!"
"I'm not sure. Has anything strange happened to you today?"
Lovino frowned as he thought about it and stood up. "Well…. When I had to get our damn food today some asshole slammed me against my damn car… and there was this blinding white light… but then as soon as it was gone, the asshole was gone too. I figured it was just a figment of my imagination…" Then he glared out of the room. "Feliciano! Hand me my fucking glasses already will you?!"
Feliciano shuffled into the room, offering his twin the glasses case. Yao blinked upon seeing the younger brother.
Lovino mouthed to the nature Spirit, much the same as he had done to Antonio only a short while before, 'don't fucking ask' before turning back to his brother and taking the case away, putting the glasses back on. "Well? What the hell happened to the other bastards in there?"
"Attacks from unknown sources," Feliciano answered. "Poor Alfred is barely able to express his anguish."
"Dammit!" Lovino cursed as he stomped his foot then glanced at the other victims. "Just what the hell is going on?! What is this shit?!"
