I got up two hours early to post this. I'm in Colorado with my girlfriend currently, but since I always update by 6 or 6:30 am in Ohio, I had to get up at 4 am to make it be "on time". Appreciate it.
Things getting intense~. Hope ya'll enjoy it~!
The brothers fell for what seemed like an eternity before they were spat out into the open sky. They had long since passed out from fear and they landed with a harsh thump on something made of wood.
Lovino was the first one to come to, and he sat up with a wince then began looking around, his glasses somehow having reappeared on his face. Awkwardly standing up, he looked all around him and paled. "W-What the hell?! W-Why the hell are we on a fucking SHIP?! Feliciano! Wake the fuck up right now!"
Groaning softly, the younger of the pair sat up, rubbing his head and looking all around him, quickly becoming just as confused as his twin. "W-Where are we?" he asked, moving closer to his twin, scared. They were surrounded on all sides by the ocean, the vast blue sea stretching for miles in every direction. It was night time, and the waning moon was high in the sky, the deck looking as bright as in the day time to the twins, the stars and moon more than enough light to see by.
"W-We must have just missed the full moon," Feliciano commented, pointing the the pale orb that hung in the sky. "L-Lucky for whoever's ship we l-landed on, huh fratello?"
"Lucky?!" Lovino screeched as he whipped around and glared at him. "We're on a fucking SHIP! How's that fucking lucky?! Where the hell are we anyway?!"
Shocked, Feliciano backed away from his twin, his eyes filling with tears. "W-Why are you yelling at me? I-I was just trying to m-make the situation at l-least a little better..." he whimpered, trying not to cry.
Lovino quietly cursed as he rubbed his forehead. "Sorry … I didn't mean to fucking yell at you."
"L-Lets just find out where we are," Feliciano mumbled, looking away.
"Does your cell phone work?"
"Um..." Feliciano looked down at himself. "Oh. Um... Fratello? We're naked."
Lovino blinked, then slowly looked down, his face going pale. "FUCK! Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"I guess that makes sense..." Feliciano mused to himself. "We didn't have our clothes while we were doggies, then we turned into wolves, then we got here. So, I guess since we didn't have clothes when we came through the whatever it was thingie, we don't have them now. But, I don't know how your glasses appeared..."
"Whatever, dammit," Lovino grumbled, annoyance in his tone. "This is a damn ship. Let's just find some extra clothes on here." He paused and looked around. "Where is everybody on this damn thing?"
"It is nighttime, fratello. They're probably sleeping."
"Even better. We can go find clothes without worrying about being caught," Lovino huffed and began stumbling off, not used to walking on a boat.
The two wobbled across the deck to a door that they hoped would lead them down into the body of the ship. Opening it and discovering a stair case, they managed to go down without making to much noise, bumping into each other repeatedly.
Once at the bottom, then sniffed out a laundry room. It was pretty easy to find. It smelled like death.
Going inside, they managed to find clothes that didn't make them want to hurl, and quickly put them on, relieved to be clothed again. This done, they sat side by side and began to whisper to one another, trying to figure out their next step.
"Fratello, what are we going to do when they find us?" Feliciano asked. "What if they throw us off the ship? I-I don't think we're anywhere near land, and I don't think I can swim as far as we would have too, and we wouldn't know which way to go..."
"Need to find out more about these bastards… Maybe we can offer to work if we can stay on here? What do you think?"
"I-I guess we don't have any other choice. I-It's kinda scary though... What if they're a ship full of murderers?" the younger asked, shifting nervously.
"What? Like pirates?" Lovino asked as he glanced over at him.
"S-Si. Exactly."
"…. You get a good look at the flag outside?"
"N-No, I missed it when we fell and I didn't think to look up before we came down here. Why? D-Did you see it? Was it a pirate flag? Fratello, are we going to die?" The pitch of Feliciano's voice rose with each word, the teen beginning to panic.
"O-Of course not, dammit! We just have to keep our heads! A-And not do anything stupid!"
"B-But you tell me I'm stupid all the time! H-How can I do anything not stupid if I am stupid!?"
"You know what I fucking mean!"
Before Feliciano could say anything else, there was the hiss of metal scraping metal, and a sword was suddenly pressed to their throats. Then, there was a familiar sounding laugh.
"Keseses. What do we have here? Some stowaways." The sword on Lovino's throat was pressed a little closer. "What should we do, Fran? Suck them dry here and now, toss their carcasses into the sea? Or should we take 'em up to Toni?"
"Take them to Toni~. They're cute. It's a shame for it to go to waste~."
Lovino gasped as he stared at the two. "A-Albino bastard! French bastard! W-What the hell do you bastards think you're fucking doing?! What about that fight with that magic group or whoever the hell they are?!"
Gilbert hissed, baring his fangs at Lovino. "Shut up, stowaway. Don't speak to us like we're friends." The Prussian reached down and grabbed Lovino's hair, yanking him up, his red eyes narrowed in an angry glare. "Don't ever address us so intimately again. Got it?"
Lovino yelped as his eyes flashed gold. He shot a quick, fear-filled glance at Feliciano.
Feliciano whimpered, trembling in place, looking at his twin with wide eyes, terrified.
As quickly as he'd picked him up, Gilbert dropped Lovino back to the ground, his sword going back to the Italian's throat. "Fran, is it just me, or do they smell different than most humans?" he asked, his angry glare turning into a look of curiosity.
Francis glanced between the two with a calculating look on his face. "Oui… sort of like... dogs…."
"W-Well that's because we own some, dammit!" Lovino said quickly, trying to lean away from the blade.
"Don't fucking move another inch," Gilbert snapped, pressing the tip of the blade into the Italian's neck harder. "No one was fucking talking to you, so hold your tongue. Besides, only nobility can afford dogs, and you two are not nobility."
Lovino teared up and trembled, trying to keep still. Just what was going on?!
"My, these two are interesting~," Francis chuckled. "I'm sure Toni will enjoy them~. He's been looking for some new toys after all. We should take them to him right away."
"Ja. Come on, stowaways. You get the honor of meeting the Captain," Gilbert said, laughing at the fear on the twins' faces.
Prodding the two onto their feet, Gilbert and Francis led the pair up onto the deck. "Is he in the navigation room with Ludwig?" the albino asked.
As the two conversed, Feliciano covered his face, beginning to cry in fright.
"I think he just got done," Francis answered with a smile on his face. "He probably waiting in his cabin until breakfast is called."
Gilbert rolled his eyes. "Yeah, waiting for the food we don't need. Ugh, it's annoying pretending to be human." He looked down at Feliciano and smirked, reaching down and roughly grabbing his chin, jerking the sobbing Italian's head up. "It's that right, little faker? You two aren't human either, are you?"
Feliciano whimpered, trembling.
"Don't fucking touch him!" Lovino snarled as he slapped Gilbert's hand away, his eyes blazing gold.
Faster than either boy could follow, Gilbert dropped Feliciano onto the deck, then slapped Lovino, hard, across the face, sending the teen crashing to the ground. "Don't ever touch me again," the pirate spat. "You are nothing to me. I have no qualms over killing you. Don't push your luck."
"F-Fuck you…." Lovino spat out blood as he held his cheek.
Gilbert hissed and lunged at Lovino, only to stop as Feliciano threw himself in front of his twin protectively, looking up at him in terror.
The albino's eyes widened slightly as his mind flashed back to the night he had been changed into a vampire. He had done the same thing to protect his younger brother. It had worked, but only for a few years. Then the vampire had returned and bitten Ludwig anyway.
He backed away from the twins, covering his eyes. "F-Francis, you take them to Toni. I-I need to find Ludwig. R-Right now." Without waiting for the other to answer, he ran off in search of the German boy.
Trembling harder than before, Feliciano whipped around and hugged Lovino tightly, crying quietly into the elder's shoulder.
Francis, knowing exactly what the problem was, took over leading the brothers after dragging the brothers to their feet and forcing the two to move. When they reached Antonio's cabin, he knocked on the door. "Toni?" he called. "We found some interesting stowaways."
"Stowaways, huh?" There was the sound of movement, then the door opened, reveling the Spaniard.
Antonio looked far different than the twins had ever seen before. He was wearing dark brown boots at stretched up to his calves over a pair of black pants, a white shirt that was open at the chest, reveling his tanned skin, the shirt cuffs feathering out around his hands. Across his shoulders, a long red coat, trimmed in gold fluttered in the breeze. On his head, sat a large black hat, decorated with red feathers. But the most intimidating thing about him was the huge battle axe strapped to his back. His hair was also much longer and tied up with a green ribbon.
"Well who is this?" he asked, smirking slightly, leaning down and gently holding Lovino's face up into the light. "I don't believe I remember allowing someone as good looking as you onto my ship. And I would have remembered a face like yours." He looked over at Francis. "Where is Gilbert?"
"Had to do something," Francis answered. "Ran off pretty quickly too."
At the same time, Lovino's eyes widened in shock. "A-Antonio….?" the Italian stuttered as he gently set his hand on Antonio's. "I-Is that you, bastard….?"
"Bastard?" The Spanish teen looked down at Lovino, his eyes narrowed slightly in confusion. "Don't think anyone's ever called me that on my own ship before. How rude. You should watch your tongue while you're here, whoever you are."
Lovino flinched as he teared up again, quickly yanking his hand away. "N-No…. Y-You're not him… W-Who the hell are you?! I want MY fucking Antonio, dammit!"
"Well, seeing as how I'm not the only Antonio in the world, it's quite possible I am not the Antonio you're looking for. But, I am Antonio Fernandez Carriedo. Nice to meet you. So what are your names?" the pirate asked, giving them a familiar, friendly smile.
Lovino shot Feliciano a wary look, silently asking him what to do.
The younger shrugged, still a little scared. He turned to look at Antonio and said, "I-I'm Feliciano V-Vargas, and this is m-my older twin brother, L-Lovino. H-How do you d-do, M-Mr. Carriedo?"
Lovino swallowed, then added, "W-We were hoping to work for you….."
Antonio blinked. "You want to join my crew?" He was quiet for a moment, then he leaned down to look at each of the twins closely in turn. "Hmm... There is something you have to do before you can join my crew."
"W-What do we have to d-do?" Feliciano asked, flinching away slightly.
"You have to tell me what exactly you are. You are not human, I can tell. You smell like an animal, but you look normal. Gilbert, Francis, and I are vampires, as is Gilbert's little brother, Ludwig. Only a select few members of this crew know. So I need to know what you are in case anything happens so we can control it."
Feliciano looked at Lovino, beginning to sweat, his eyes wide and slightly luminescent, his worry right on the edge of a panic attack powerful enough to set his transformation into motion unless the elder did something to help calm him down.
"I-I…. I don't know if we can tell you…." Lovino stuttered nervously. "Y-You… m-might not like it…."
"Alright, let's make a deal. You can either tell me right now, or I'll toss you both off the ship. We're in the middle of the ocean. Have fun swimming back to land," the Spaniard said, crossing his arms over his chest.
Lovino flinched then stuttered. "W-We're shapeshifters, dammit! We can change into dogs!"
"Show me."
"W-We can't," Feliciano murmured, looking at the wooden planks under him, shaking in fear of Antonio's reaction.
"Why not?" Antonio asked, his voice deceptively calm and friendly.
"W-We can't really control it….." Lovino stuttered nervously.
"I don't think you're shapeshifters." The Captain moved closer to the two, towering over them. "You don't smell like one. You smell like forest animals. Now, you can either tell me the truth, or you better take a deep breath."
Feliciano began to cry and he clung to Lovino tightly, hiding his face in his twin's shoulder.
Lovino flinched and looked down. "W-We're werewolves…."
Antonio smiled and leaned back. "There. Was that so hard? Follow me. We're going to find a place for you two to sleep." He started walking away as the twins stood still, looking at each in confusion. "Oh! And one more thing." The Captain turned back to face them, then gestured to either side of himself.
"Welcome to the Delphinus."
