Chapter 39: Bump in the Night

Randy's POV

"Damn the movie shoot went longer than I thought . . ." I grumble to myself as I shift the bag of Chinese takeout from my right hand to my left so I could grab my key card from my pocket. "The movie shoot was supposed to stop at seven, not nine. . . 'Manda probably fell asleep already . . . I hope she's not mad at me for coming back so late. She'll probably make me sleep on the couch as punishment."

Once the elevator doors opened up, I quickly make my way through the hallway until I reached the suite. I instantly spot the sliver of light that was peeking out from the crack under the door and I could hear Amanda's slow heartbeat from inside, which was a little closer to the door than I thought. . . In other words, she wasn't waiting for me in our bedroom.

"Okay . . . I may be in trouble after all," I mumble to myself as I unlocked the door and slowly opened it. I let a sheepish smile come across my face as she looks up from her magazine with an eyebrow raised from her seat on the couch. "Hey babe . . . How was your day?"

"I should be asking you that . . ." she tells me with a smirk as she slowly gets up from her seat. She was dressed in a simple black camisole and shorts, her shirt fitting her so snugly that it was showing off her baby bump perfectly, as well as showing off a bit of her ample cleavage . . . Damn, am I lucky or what? "What happened? I thought you were coming back hours ago?"

"I was supposed to, but it was decided that due to the hunter threat in the area, we were going to increase production by adding in a few more hours of filming each day." I tell her with a small sigh as I put the food on the coffee table.

"So basically, you're going to be home later than previously planned huh?" she tells me with a shake of her head. "Well . . . that just sucks doesn't it?"

"You have no idea . . . I would rather get back to you early rather than later than expected," I tell her with a shake of my head. "So . . . what happened while I was out? Has anything new happened with our girls yet?"

"Besides some more kicks to my spleen and kidneys, it's been perfectly normal in terms of the twins," she tells me with a small smirk on her face as she looks down at her belly. "They are quite the kickers if you ask me."

"Ah . . . just like their mother when she's in the ring," I tell her with a peck to her forehead before I lean down to kiss her bump. " . . . And girls, can you please try not to kick the crap out of your mother's organs? She was completely intact before she was pregnant with you two, and I want her completely intact after she gives birth to you two, you hear me?"

"Way to take charge babe?" she tells me as she lets out a soft chuckle. "C'mon, let's eat in our bedroom. You can tell me about your day there."

"Didn't you eat already?" I ask her with an eye brow raised as she picks up the food and walks toward our room.

"I did, but I bet you still bought food for me anyway because you wanted to make sure I ate while on your watch right?" she asks me with a smirk before stepping out of view.

"Hmm . . . guilty . . ." is all I say as I concede to her point. I take off my jacket and slip off my shoes once I walked into our room, sneaking a look at 'Manda from time to time as she prepared our bed. "Did you let a maid in to clean up the place today?"

"Nope . . . I called down to the front desk to tell them not to send a maid to clean up our room during our stay," she tells me with a shake of her head as she slowly crawls into bed with the bag of food in hand. "I figured it would be a good idea . . . I wouldn't want to find out that the maid was one of those hunter you know."

"Good call . . . good call," I say with a shake of my head as I climbed into bed, wrapping my arm around her to bring her close to me before I fully got myself settled on the mattress. "So . . . how was your day?"

"It was pretty normal . . . I watched TV . . . I ate popcorn . . . I watched TV while eating popcorn . . . I talked with my sister over the phone . . ." she tells me as she rolls her head to the side. "It was a pretty simple day overall . . . how about you? How's the movie filming going?"

"It was pretty fun . . . I wish you would have been there to see me in action . . . you would have loved it." I tell her with a grin as I nuzzled her hair.

"We all can't get what we want . . ." she tells me with a shake of her head as she takes out one of the trays. "For example, I don't want to have a painful childbirth, but I know I'm going to have to go through one in order to deliver our girls."

"Which is one of the biggest reasons why I'm glad I'm not a woman . . ." I tell her with a shake of my head. "When it comes to giving birth, women have the utmost respect from me in that category. It must be a killer to birth a baby."

"You can say that again . . ." she tells me with a chuckle as she looks up at me. "You know your mom told me about the day she had to give birth to you . . . She said that giving birth to you was a lot harder than giving birth to either of your siblings."

"Why?" I ask her with narrowed eyes as she handed me the tray with the ribs inside. "Because I was the first one she had?"

"That . . . and the fact that you were also the fattest one she had to give birth to," she tells me with a chuckle. ". . . Or was it because you were a kicker when she gave birth to you . . . I forget."

"You better hope the day you give birth you don't go through the same things my mom went through," I tell her with a shake of her head as I watch her scoop a spoonful of rice into her mouth. ". . . Especially when you can pop any day now babe."

"Yeah . . . which also worries me a little . . ." she tells me as I feel her body go tense a bit. "I mean, yeah I could pop any day now, but where will you be once that happens?"

"I'll probably be out on set filming my movie . . ." I tell her as realization slowly dawns on me, the meaning behind her words finally sinking in. "Oh . . . I see where this is heading."

"You see it right?" she asks me with a tense chuckle. "Haven't you ever thought of the slight possibility that I could go into labor while you're out filming your movie? You could be hours away from me when the time comes . . . By the time you get back to me, I would probably be cradling one of the twins by then."

"Babe . . . I only work like . . . an hour and a half away," I tell her as I think about it. "And besides, I would absolutely do anything in my power to be by your side when you give birth. There is no way I would miss it . . . I'm going to be there for you no matter what. If I have to leave mid-scene to be at your bedside, then so be it . . . I'm not going to miss something so big in our lives."

"Now you just sound corny . . ." she tells me with a shake of her head, a small smile playing on her lips as she looks up at me. ". . . But thanks for telling me that."

"You're welcome babe . . ." I tell her with a grin as I pecked her lips. ". . . You know, I always wanted our twins to be born in St. Louis."

"And why can't they?" she asks me as she scrunches her eyebrows together. "It's not that hard to hop on the bus or go on an airplane back home to St. Louis so I could give birth there."

"Yeah, but I still have my movie to film . . ." I tell her with a shake of my head.

"And it's that much trouble to put down what you're doing so that you could rush back to our hometown so you'll be there for me when I give birth?" she asks me in a challenging tone. "I never realize things were that complicated for you babe."

"Don't be funny 'Manda . . ." I tell her with a shake of my head, but I couldn't help but let a small smirk come across my face at her statement. "You're right . . . with me being the main character in the film, they can't continue the movie without me, especially since they don't have a backup understudy who has shapeshifting abilities so he could play my role while I'm gone. . . . They would have to stall movie production till I get back. . . What I'm worried about is that the producers won't allow me to leave filming because they want to get it all done quickly, especially with the hunters around. If the heads of the movie have to stall production, then that just puts the cast and crew at an even greater risk at being caught by the hunters."

"I see where you're getting at," she tells me with a shake of her head. "On one hand, it would be nice to have me give birth to our girls back home in St. Louis surrounded by friends and family, but if we do that, then we're putting your coworkers at risk by making them stay in the same area with the hunters, especially since we still have no idea when they'll leave."

"But there is also the possibility that you may go into labor while I'm out filming 'Manda," I tell her as I let out a small whistle. "I would have to rush back here to be by your side because I absolutely have no plans of having you be all alone and ready to give birth when there are hunters out there."

"And you know what the best part about this situation is. . . We absolutely have no idea where a supernatural clinic is in this area?" she tells me with a sarcastic chuckle as she turns on the TV attached to the wall in front of us. "We certainly got ourselves into quite a bind haven't we?"

"We sure did . . . although I could just ask some of the guys that are from this area where a clinic is," I tell her as I think about it. "But yeah . . . we got ourselves in quite a situation babe."

"Eh . . . we should probably just sleep on it," 'Manda suggests with a shrug as she steals a piece of my food. "It's always best to think about things after you get a good rest."

"What is that? Your new philosophy?" I ask with a smirk as I steal a piece of food from her in return.

"Yes . . . and you got to admit. It's a pretty good piece of advice babe," 'Manda tells me with a smirk as she waves her fork around. "Some of the world's best thinkers get their greatest ideas after a good night's rest."

"I think you're just saying that because you love to sleep," I tell her with a smirk, which earns me a slap to the forehead in return. "But yeah . . . it is a pretty good piece of advice."

Normal POV; A few hours later

Thump . . . thump . . . . thump . . . .

"What the hell . . . ?" mumbled Amanda as she slowly opened her eyes at the sound of the weird thumping noise that was coming from behind the wall on her left. "Randy . . . please tell me you hear that thumping noise too?"

"Yeah . . . I hear it," Randy told her tiredly as he cracked one eye open as he looked up at the wall where the thumping sound was coming from. "It's been going on for the past 20 minutes now."

"It sounds like someone getting the crap smacked out of him, or her . . ." mumbled Amanda as she lifted her head off of Randy's shoulder to look at the wall that Randy was gazing at. "What do you think our neighbors are doing over there?"

"Kinky sex?" Randy instantly blurts out as a suggestion, which gained him an annoyed look from Amanda in return. "What? You're the one that asked the question! And besides, you got to admit that it is a strong possibility."

"Randy? Were you dreaming about us having sex again?" Amanda asked him bluntly as she narrowed her eyes in a disapproving manner.

"Maybe . . ." Randy told her innocently as he gave her a wide eyed look, most likely because he was shocked that she figured him out so easily. "Why do you ask?"

"Probably because that small tent there is starting to show up when it wasn't there moments ago . . ." said Amanda as she pointed to the small tent in question. "Does that give you a hint?"

"Yeah . . . it does," said Randy as he shook his head. "Do you mind helping me out with my little problem dear?"

"Sorry, but this snake will not be conducting any more sexual activity till after the delivery of our twins . . ." said Amanda as she pecked her mate's lips. "I'm sorry babe, but you are going to have to look to yourself for some relief on this one."

"Well that's just great . . ." mumbled Randy as he slipped the covers off his body and slowly got out of bed. "I'll be right back."

"Don't keep me waiting too long Mr." said Amanda as she watched her serpentine beau walk into the bathroom. Randy quickly turned on the lights and walked over to the toilet. He pulled his boxers down his legs, but stopped short when he felt a pair of hands begin to slide around his waist.

"I thought you were sitting this one out?" Randy said with a little smirk as he turned around to see Amanda standing right behind him with a playful smile across her face.

"I am . . . I said that I wasn't going to be conducting any more sexual activity until after I give birth," explained Amanda as she planted a kiss on Randy's neck. "However, I never said I was going to stop watching you conduct any sexual activity before I give birth."

"Oh . . . so you're just here to watch me masturbate huh?" Randy asked with a chuckle as Amanda guided his hands to his hardened shaft. "Well that's nice."

"C'mon . . . you don't like an audience?" Amanda asked with a smirk as her lips became dangerously close to Randy's earlobe.

"I love to have an audience when I'm wrestling . . ." said Randy as he turned his head to look at his mate better. ". . . But when I have to give myself some release, that's a whole different story, hon."

"C'mon . . . I'm the only person you would be doing it in front of baby," said Amanda in a husky whisper. "And if it makes you uncomfortable, do it just this once and I promise I'll never ask you to do the same thing ever again."

"That seems fair enough . . ." said Randy as he looked down at his still hardened shaft, which only got harder due to Amanda's presence alone. "You really want to watch me do this?"

"Randy, I've watched you stroke yourself before. This shouldn't be any different." said Amanda as she let out a soft chuckle, but then, she suddenly cut herself short as she turned to face the entryway, her stare taking on a curious edge to it as she let Randy go.

"Something wrong?" Randy asked her as she felt her body go tense behind his.

"Something happened in the next suite . . . something bad," mumbled Amanda as she quickly walked out the room. Randy let out a small groan at that, quickly realizing that his shaft was going down at the same time. Once his erection finally settled down, he pulled his boxers back up and walked out the bathroom to find Amanda standing beside the wall that stood as the barrier between their suite and the one right next to them. "The walls are pretty thick, so you have to really focus in order to listen in on them. A barrier's protecting their minds, but I can still see some of their thoughts."

"Whose thoughts?" asked Randy as he walked over to her. "What's going on 'Manda?"

"There are hunters in the suite next to us . . ." whispered 'Manda as she turned to the wall, her sentence making Randy's blood run cold. "Apparently, they've just finished eradicating the demons in the next room. . . Just listen in."

Randy shook his head before he leaned a little closer to the wall, almost pressing his ear to it in order to hear better.

"Alright, those two demons are done like dinner," said a gruff voice from within the room as he let out a loud chuckle. "Their bodies should disintegrate within a couple of hours, by then we will be long gone from here."

"But we may get the chance to return to this place . . . maybe in the near future hopefully." said a second voice, much more feminine than the first. It held a maniacal edge to it that unsettled Randy and Amanda both.

"What do you mean Sydia?" asked the first voice, his tone sounding curious at her intentions.

"Don't you ever read the messages the boss sends everyone?" asked Sydia as a loud slap, and then a loud groan of pain, echoed through the wall to reach the snake couple's eardrums. "There's a film being made near this hotel, and it's staffed by supernatural beings galore. He's still talking to the advisors about it, but if he gets the okay, then we'll be allowed to do a little bit of havoc on set."

"That's nice . . . but wait, is it a high profile movie?" asked the second voice as he sounded like he was preparing himself for another slap from Sydia. "You know very well that we're supposed to stay away from those."

"No Neo . . . it's not a Hollywood blockbuster type of thing," said Sydia, sounding rather annoyed by Neo's line of questioning. "It's one of those straight to DVD kind of movies, and I heard the WWE has a huge stake in this thing."

"The WWE . . . That company has a great history of being a full supernatural-staffed enterprise," said Neo, who now sounded astonished. "Whenever they partner with a film studio to create a new movie, they always have one of their wrestlers in the film."

"That's right . . . and I heard that the Viper is the wrestler they got doing this movie Neo," said Sydia as her voice started to sound malicious. "The Viper is from the Orton wrestling lineage, which is one of the most well-known vampire families in all of the States, especially in the Midwest. Do you know how much recognition a hunter could get for killing someone from that clan?"

"A lot I'm guessing. . ."

"And you would be guessing right Neo," said Sydia as she let out a small chuckle, which sounded crueler than the first. "And the best part is this: I heard that he also has his mate here with him as well, and she's pregnant . . . very pregnant, about to give birth to be exact. If we take her out too, we'll be taking out a whole family of vampires right there."

"Wow . . . it sounds like you've been dreaming about this kind of scenario for years Sydia," said Neo as he let out a nervous chuckle. "It's . . . huh, it's actually kinda scary."

"Hello . . . killing a vampire from a well-known and influential family is a very big thing to accomplish Neo," said Sydia as her voice went as sharp as a knife. "It's a very high bar to reach Neo, and I want to reach it, but first we're going to have to get the okay first. Once we do get the okay to get those supernaturals working on that film, I'm going for Orton first for sure. His mate will follow soon after."

"You don't have a caring bone in your body huh Sydia?" mumbled Neo as a pair of footsteps began to walk away as if he or she was retreating.

"Only when I'm at work," was all Sydia said, her voice sounding a bit fainter due to her walking away. "Now let's go Neo, we got to make ourselves scarce before the sun rises."

"Coming!" exclaimed Neo as his footsteps followed after hers, a door closing shut behind them before the room became silent. Once they were gone, Amanda looked up to see the anger showing in Randy's eyes, and after hearing what those hunters just said, she couldn't blame him.

"Babe . . ." said Amanda as Randy quickly walked over to his charging phone. 'What are you doing?"

"I'm calling a travel agent. I'm booking you on a flight back home to St. Louis," Randy told her adamantly as he began dialing numbers. "After hearing what that bitch just said, I can't afford to leave you here alone in the hotel. . . Hell, I can't afford to have you stay in this area any longer now that we have an idea on what those hunters will do next!"

"I understand . . ." mumbled Amanda as she crossed her arms as if she was holding herself together. "The only problem I have with your plan is that you're not coming along with me."

"I still have to do my job babe . . ." said Randy as he brought his phone to his ear. "But once the movie filming is done, I'm going to get my ass on the first flight out to St. Louis so I could be at your side."

"And what are you going to do if the hunters attack the set during filming?" asked Amanda as she took a seat on the bed.

"I may fight for a while, but if things get too tough, then I'll leave." said Randy as he began to redial the number after realizing he typed it in wrong.

"And what will you do if you get a phone call where you found out I went into labor while you were out filming?" asked Amanda as Randy sat down next to her.

"Then I'm definitely going to drop what I'm doing to find the quickest flight out to St. Louis so I could be there when our little girls are born." said Randy as he began to hear the dial tone echo out from his receiver.

"Well . . . as long as you have your priorities straight, I'm fine with it," said Amanda as she let a small sad smile come across her face. She then moved to wrap her arms around Randy's tense shoulders, the man visibly relaxing as he rested his head on her shoulder. "Just promise me you'll stay safe alright?"

"I promise . . . Besides, like hell I'll die before seeing the birth of our twin girls . . ." said Randy with a superior smirk on his face as he looked up at her. "I'm not missing that for anything."

"I'm glad to hear that . . ." said Amanda as she heard the sounds of a sleepy sounding travel agent echoing out from the receiver of Randy's phone. "Oh . . . I guess you have a reservation to make."

"Yeah . . . I'll be back," said Randy as he broke free from her grip. "Try to go to back to sleep. I got to take this."

"Alright . . ." said Amanda as she kissed him on the lips before he left the room. She snuck a quick look out the window to see the moon hanging high in the sky before she rested her head on her pillow, her thoughts going toward the near future as she closed her eyes.
