I am/was writing this chapter during the Walking Dead Zombie Bowl. So this might end up looking like a notes chapter vs an actual chapter. Also I apologize for taking this long to write it out. I've gotten a little distracted *cough*Ghosts *cough* GTA V *cough, hack.

"Do you guys hear that?" Tank questions as the sound of church bells echo through the air. Everyone looks up and around, trying to find the source.

"Which direction is it coming from?" Sophia asks. Richtofen is the first one to locate the originating destination of the sound, thus leading the group onward. However, finding the bells via sound proves to be difficult as the noise bounces off the trees.

"Let's go! If momma heard the bells then she might go to them." Sophia calls to Tank and the others with hope in her voice.

"Or maybe your mom's ringing the bells herself," Nikolai would comment. "Just like Nikolai's ma used to do. Ring a cow bell and dinner would be awaiting Nikolai." When Sophia and the others look at him with confused looks, he'd respond. "What? Nikolai's family had cow bells. I used to live on a farm you know."

The next ring of the church bells gives Sophia some hope and she'd scamper up ahead, although she keeps calling to the other marines to hurry up. Her smaller frame makes it easier for her to duck through the branches and trees while the others are forced to push onward at a slower pace.

Branches and leaves shift as Rick emerges from the trees, Shane following behind along with Carol, Daryl, and the others. A white church stands in the middle of a clearing, a graveyard and gravestones surrounding parts of the structure. Yet at the same time there's the feeling that something's missing from the shelter.

"That can't be it. Got no steeple, no bells," Shane comments as Glenn and Andrea emerge, also looking at the church. "Rick!" The Sheriff takes off in a run towards the church. Shane and Daryl run behind him, shotgun and crossbow in hand. The sign standing by the white building reads "Southern Christian Church of HOLY LIGHT." "Revelation 16:7"

Rick runs up towards the doors, Daryl close behind him with his crossbow raised. The officer makes a 'quiet' sign with his hand to his lips before the he and the red-neck open the doors. Inside they'd see the church is surprisingly neat and clean, three people sitting in the seats as if church was still in session. Snarls can be heard as the walkers turn towards the group, glaring at them like they've interrupted mass. Shane stands between Rick and Daryl, his mouth open in an expression of 'what the hell'. Rick's hands grip his Colt Python as the walkers stand up from the seats. Tucking the gun away, Officer friendly reaches for a curved machete that Lori hands him. The group's melee specialists split up, Rick heading down the outside of the left seats while Daryl takes the right, trading Glenn his crossbow for the Advanced Gator machete.

As the walker lumbers up to the Grimes father, the blade gets swung like a sword into the skull of the male corpse. When the body falls to the ground he then uses the blade like a butcher, delivering two sharp hacks to ensure the brain is destroyed.

Shane, having recovered from his daze, wields a sawtooth machete and stabs the second walker right in the jaw. The third walker would seem to look between Shane and Daryl as the hunter moves in for the kill. The gator blade slams itself into the creatures head, sending it slumping to the ground. With all the walkers taken care of, the group begins to relax.

"Sophia!" Rick calls out as the group enters the church. Daryl would walk up to the statue of Jesus on the Cross. "Yo, J.C., you taking requests?"

"I'm telling you Rick, this isn't the right place. It's got no steeple," Shane repeats with an 'I told you so' tone. As he'd say that however, church bells start ringing. Daryl's the first one moving towards the door while everyone else either steps to the side or runs out with him. The red-neck takes a left, only to stop in defeat when he's noticed the speakers on the corner.

"A timer. It's on a timer."Glenn confirms as he'd shut the speakers off, silencing the ringing bells.

The group just rises above yet another hill when Takeo motions for the group to hold. Sophia would stop as well, looking at the Imperial and the other marines. Everyone remains silent for a few moments before Takeo releases a string of Japanese curses.

"What is it Takeo?" Nikolai would ask the samurai after standing still for several seconds; a task Nikolai seems to have trouble with. "Do you hear something?"

"I don't hear anything." Tank comments when the Imperial doesn't respond.

"Exactly, the bells of the temple have grown silent. It will make our trek very difficult now." He responds grimly. Everyone adopts frowns as the information sinks in, Sophia moving a little closer to Dempsey. Realizing that this is making the lost little girl down, the marine takes the role of leadership.

"Let's keep moving. Ooh-Rah."

Ok everyone, I know this chapter sucks, but I'm starting to get back into writing. But I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I hope to continue this.

Oh, just something to think about: Nikolai loves his vodka, but what I'm wondering is; will the group have enough/find enough when they reach the prison (remember, 9months at least between seasons 2 and 3).

I'm either going to make him sober up a little like his Origins version, or I'm just gonna say he's gone crazy and thinks everything he drinks is vodka.

Re-reviews:

JudgementDragon25: (CH1) I'm going to go with the Original original-crew (shi no numa - moon version), mostly due to the fact that those guys are the ones we all know and love. (At the same time, I MIGHT make Nikolai a little less of a drunkard since he'll be running out of vodka at the end of season 2. Unless anyone has an idea for an alternate substance)

As for Brutus; sorry but as of now I don't have any plans on introducing him since I don't (currently) have any good explanation as to how or why he's existing when the other walkers are just slow and such. The power-ups, mystery box, and perks; while interesting, wouldn't be able to fit into this story.

lolperson2: (Ch 1): I don't think I'm going to add any characters from the campaign, due to how the story's based on the zombie side, thus leaving no room for campaign characters.

(Ch2): I did think about adding in Samantha, but as of right now I do not have any way to make her appear, nor where to make her appear.

inMyOwnHead1990: (CH 1): Thanks. I'm glad you think it's interesting. To be honest, I was surprised that no one attempted something like this before.

(Ch 2): Again, I'm glad you're interested in it.

g man: I'm glad you like this. Like I said above, I was surprised that I was the first one to make a Walking Dead/CoD story.
