Chapter 43: Baby Aftermath
Normal POV
"I'll repeat it again so you can get it into that thick skull of yours John . . ." said Randy as he let out a small chuckle, his uninjured hand holding his phone up to his ear as he leaned against the wall. His eyes were on Amanda, who was currently cradling their daughter Daniela in her arms. Their other daughter Gabriella was currently asleep in the medical crib on her mother's right. Randy couldn't help but smile at the scene before him. Just that morning, he watched his mate give birth to their two little girls and now here they were, just enjoying the peace and quiet that had now befallen them. "The older twin's name is Daniela and the younger twin's name is Gabriella alright? It's not the other way around."
"I hear ya, I hear ya . . ." said John as he let out a small chuckle. "The older twin is Dani and the younger twin is Gabi. I got it . . . So, how's the hand faring? Is it still giving you problems?"
"It's gotten better . . ." said Randy as he looked at his wounded left hand 'Manda held onto that morning during delivery. When she noticed that Randy was looking at the hand she almost crushed earlier in the day, Amanda shot him an apologetic stare, which only made the Viper mouth 'Don't worry about it' in return. "All I needed was a blood bag to get the healing process started, that's all . . ."
"How's Amanda doing?"
"She's doing fine Johnny Boy. She's doing fine," said Randy as he shook his head. "The doctor said that since everything's been going smoothly so far, she would release Amanda and the twins around mid-morning tomorrow at the earliest."
"Nice . . . and what about the rest of the family?" asked John. "How are they holding up?"
"I got some of them doing various tasks for us as we speak . . ." said Randy as he let out a soft chuckle, careful not to awake his sleeping daughters in the process. "Monica and I had to drive all the way from Kansas City to get back here. Since their brother Mason had to go back to Kansas City to work on an ongoing case there, I asked him to drive the car that we had to rent out back to the airport rental place. Becky and Nate are at the loft gathering some stuff we'll need tomorrow, and Monica, our parents, and my grandparents are off getting the baby supplies . . ."
"So . . . it's basically a family effort you got going on right now huh?" said John as he let out a small chuckle. "You have the whole family working for ya huh?"
"You can say that again?" said Randy as Alanna walked into the room. "Oh . . . Alanna just walked in. I'll call you back later John."
"Tell her and 'Manda I said hi . . ." said John as he practically rushed his words before the Viper had the chance to hang up is phone. "And Randy, I'm still waiting to hear if I'm going to be the godfather or not."
"I'm still thinking about it the potential candidates for that role, but don't worry John. You are definitely one of the frontrunners." said the Viper as he finally hung up his phone. Once he put the device in his pocket, he looked up to see his eldest daughter at Amanda's side, both of them looking down at the sleeping Daniela in silence. "It took you long enough to get here Alanna."
"I know, but can you blame me?" asked the little girl as she spoke in a low whisper. "I have school and homework and dance practice to get through, like on a daily basis . . . I have a lot on my plate Daddy."
"Of course you do sweetheart . . ." said Randy as he walked over to the empty chair that was right next to 'Manda's bed. "So, where's your Mom and Josh? There's no way you could have gotten to this place on your own."
"They're downstairs at the gift shop looking for a 'Congrats on the new twins!' gift for you guys," answered Alanna as she climbed onto her father's lap. "They forgot to get one while we were on our way here, so as soon as we walked in to the place, they made a beeline straight to the store by the reception desk."
"Alanna, do they even know you're in here?" asked Amanda as she eyed the little girl suspiciously.
"Nope . . . I left while they were looking through the teddy bear section," said Alanna, as if she was proud of her little achievement. "Once I walked out the shop, I followed Daddy's scent all the way up here, and now here I am."
"Oh Alanna . . ." said Amanda as she shook her head. "You're probably making them worried sick right now. I bet they're searching the first floor right now trying to find you."
"Should I have left a note?" Alanna suddenly asked as she raised an eyebrow, which earned her a small chuckle from her father in return. ". . . Hmm, maybe I should have left a note."
"Yep . . . yep, she is definitely your daughter," said Amanda as she turned to her chuckling beau. "I bet you would have done the same thing if you were in her position."
"Actually, I did something similar to that when I was a little kid," said Randy as a thoughtful look came across his face. "When Nate and I were traveling with our dad to visit our cousins down south, we had to rush back home when Mom went into labor with Becky. While Dad and Nate were looking for gifts in the gift shop, I snuck away and found Mom's room. I wasn't allowed to actually go into the room, but unlike this place, the walls were definitely not soundproof . . . That was the most I ever heard mom curse. I was scarred for a good three months after that."
"I guess your mom didn't take childbirth that well that day huh?" asked Amanda as she shook her head at the thought.
"No she did not . . ." said Randy as he shook his head, just as Sam and Josh walked into the room. "Compared to her, you handled it like a champ."
"You couldn't have waited till after we bought the gifts Alanna?" asked Sam as she placed the two teddy bears and balloon bouquet over on a nearby counter. "We were looking everywhere for you."
"Well now you found me . . ." said Alanna as she jumped off her father's lap. "And I'm sorry for going off on my own without telling you . . . I just wanted to see my sisters already and you two were taking so long to decide on something, I just went ahead and left you two to look for the gifts yourselves."
"You should have heard her on the way here . . ." said Josh as he leaned against the wall. "The only thing she could talk about throughout the whole car ride was her sisters."
"Well, becoming an older sibling is an important thing . . . take my word for it," said Randy as he shrugged his shoulders. "But just to be on the safe side, Alanna, try to wait for your mom and Josh to finish shopping before you move on to a different location okay?"
"Alright . . ." said Alanna as she walked over to the crib that was holding Gabriella. "Which one is the older twin anyway?"
"Your sister Daniela, the one in 'Manda's arms, is the older twin," explained Randy as he pointed to the sleeping girl. "Your other sister Gabriella is the younger twin."
"Daniella and Gabriela . . . Dani and Gabi . . . So you did use my suggestion . . ." said Alanna as a superior smile came across her face.
"I have a feeling she's going to brag about this for a long while . . ." said Josh as he shook his head. "Once she gets her way, she can't help but rub it in just a little."
"Hmm . . . sounds like someone else we know," said Sam as she and Amanda shared a knowing look before turning to the sheepish looking Viper. "Randy tended to act like that sometimes, especially when he was still known as the Legend Killer back all those years ago. Isn't that right Ran?"
"Uh . . . you could say that again." mumbled Randy as a nurse walked into the room.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but visiting hours are ending in five minutes . . ." said the nurse as she looked at the chart in her hands. "I have to check the patients' vitals pretty soon, so I'll be back once everyone has cleared the room."
"Well, don't we just have some good timing then," said Josh as his tone took on a sarcastic edge. "We basically rush here to see you guys and then we find out we're going to have to leave because visiting hours only last for five more minutes."
"Well . . . we did take a little too long to pick out the gifts," said Sam as she thought it over. "And traffic was a nightmare on the way here. I guess it couldn't be helped."
"Don't worry guys," said Randy as he gently took Daniela out of her mother's arms and placed her in the medical crib beside Gabriella's own. "The doctor said that she could release Amanda and the girls tomorrow morning at the earliest, so you won't have to worry about visiting hours getting in the way again for long. . . Now everybody out. Amanda's had a long day and she needs her rest."
"Well aren't you blunt . . ." said the Anaconda as she watched as her mate began to usher everyone else out the room.
"I may be blunt, but it's for a good cause," said Randy as he shot her a small smirk. "Now get some rest. I'll be back in a few minutes."
"Are you going to stay the night with the rest of us in here?" asked Amanda as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why of course . . ." said Randy as he shook his head. "If I can't fit on the bed beside you, I'll just sleep on the chair . . . or the floor, whichever one is more comfortable."
"My bet's on the floor . . ." said Amanda as she shot him a small conniving smirk. Randy only pouted at her for a millisecond before leaving the room, which earned him a soft chuckle from his mate as he exited. Once he closed the door behind him, he guided the three down the hallway and around the corner, as if he didn't want what he was about to say to be heard by 'Manda, even though the rooms were soundproof both ways.
"So, is everything going according to plan?" asked the viper as he looked at three intently.
"Everything is going according to plan," said Sam as a small smile came across her face. "Everyone you and Monica managed to invite are either flying in tonight or flying in early tomorrow. I called Becky and she said that she, Nate, and Marvin are almost done decorating the loft and Monica and the parents are almost done with all the shopping . . . Everything is going smoothly Randy, so you don't have to worry your voice infested head about mister."
"Thanks Sam . . ." said Randy as he let out a small sigh of relief. "I just want everything to go well for 'Manda and the twins' homecoming tomorrow."
"And it will Daddy," said Alanna as she tugged on his hand to get his attention. "If not, don't worry, I'll RKO some guys if things don't go well."
"Oh dear . . ." mumbled Josh as he winced at the thought. Randy and Sam couldn't help but laugh at Josh's reaction to the idea. ". . . I better not end up a victim again."
"Wait a minute . . . she's used my signature move on you before?" asked the Viper as he couldn't help but let out another chuckle.
"More times than you can count. . ." said Josh as he walked down the hallway toward the elevators. Alanna only winked at her father before following after Josh, leaving the two exes to talk with themselves.
"How much leniency do you give Alanna in regards to Josh?" Randy asked Sam curiously as he raised an eyebrow.
"Enough that I find myself regretting it sometimes, and grateful that I let it happen on others," said Sam as she gave him a hug. "Tell Amanda we said bye, and we'll see you both tomorrow."
"Tomorrow it is then . . . Don't be late!" said Randy as he watched as Sam walked over to her daughter and mate. Sam only gave him a thumbs up before joining Josh and Alanna inside the elevator cart. Once the doors closed, Randy shook his head before walking back to Amanda's room. He waited outside of the door till the nurse that entered her room earlier walked back out after checking out everyone's vitals inside. Once she gave him the okay to go back in, Randy walked in to see Amanda watching TV with the volume on low.
"Hey, since you're spending the night here, I asked the nurse to bring you a blanket and a pillow." said Amanda as she pointed to the chair where the items lay.
"Aw . . . thanks babe," said Randy as he pecked her on the forehead before heading back to his seat. "So, how are everyone's vitals anyway?"
"They're good . . ." said Amanda as she watched Randy drape his blanket over his body. "The others have already left?"
"They're on their way home as we speak . . ." said Randy as he put his pillow behind his head. "I suggest you get some sleep babe. You have a long day ahead of yourself tomorrow."
"I do?" asked Amanda as she raised an eyebrow. "Care to tell me what tomorrow is going to entail for me?"
"Nah, I'll keep that a secret for now," said Randy as he grabbed the remote from off the bed and used it to turn the TV off. "Now get some shut eye. I don't want a tired Anaconda come morning."
"Fine . . . I'll go to sleep," mumbled Amanda as she stretched out her fingers. "But I hope whatever you have planned tomorrow is good."
"Trust me babe . . ." said Randy as showed off a toothy grin. "You're gonna love it. I promise."
Amanda's POV; The next day
"Hmm . . . that sounds like one of the girls . . ." I mumble to myself as I slowly crack my eyes open, the sounds of one of my babies crying and Randy trying to quiet her easily reaching my ears. I look around the room to see Randy at the counter changing Gabriella into a pink onesie, the day year old crying as he did. I look to my left to see that Daniela was asleep in her crib, already dressed in a purple onesie. "Having some trouble there babe?"
"Well, you can say that . . ." he tells me as he continues to finishes changing Gabriella. "Daniela was no problem. She was awake when I changed her, but she fell asleep once I put her back in her crib. Gabriella, on the other hand, is gave me a hard time through the whole process. . . I think she's hungry."
"Bring her over here . . ." I say as I sit up. Randy picks Gabriella up in his arms and brings her over to me as ordered, crying the whole way through as she did. Once he passes her over to me, I soon find out that Randy's right. "Oh yeah . . . she's hungry alright."
"She's been crying for food this whole time . . ." mumbles Randy as he walks over to the counter, where a baby bag decorated with little flowers was lying in wait. "If only babies knew how to speak English as soon as they came out of the womb, it would make life that much simpler for parents like us. By the way, Dani was hungry as well when I changed her, but I just fed her some formula because you were still in deep sleep mode."
"I see . . ." I say with a shake of my head as I pull the collar of my hospital gown down to reveal my left breast. Instinctively, Gabriella stops crying and latches onto my boob as soon as I move her head close enough to it, sucking on it as much as she could in order to get her fill. "Uh . . . where did you get the baby bag?"
"Monica and Becky came by earlier this morning as soon as visiting hours started," Randy tells me as he packs away the baby bag. "They brought this baby bag for the girls and they brought a separate bag for us. You'll find your change of clothes in there."
"Well, that would explain why you're in a different outfit than what you wore yesterday," I say with a smirk as Randy walks back over to me. "Wait a minute, isn't like, half your wardrobe still back at the hotel in New Mexico?"
"Yeah . . . I rushed back here remember?" Randy tells me with a shake of his head as he picks up a small black duffle from the ground and places it on his chair. "I didn't have enough time to pack all my stuff and take it with me."
"I can't argue with that . . ." I say with a shake of my head. "What time is it anyway?"
"It's almost ten . . ." he tells me as he takes a peak out into the hallway. "Are you hungry babe?"
"For blood: yes. For human food: also yes," I tell him simply as I dislodge Gabi from my chest once I felt she had enough milk for breakfast. She doesn't complain as I look down at her, her eyes looking a little sleepy as I gently rock her back and forth. "Hmm . . . feeding her did the trick. She looks like she's going to fall asleep any minute now."
"I better get her back to the crib then . . ." Randy tells me as I hold her out so that Randy could take her. Once he got her back to her crib, he turns to me curiously. "You think you're able to walk now after what you went through yesterday?"
"Hmm . . . I can try," I say as I lift my collar back up. I take the bed sheets off my body and slowly swing my legs off the edge of the bed. I slowly push myself off the bed and onto the ground and take a few steps, and despite the sore feeling that I get from down there, I walk just fine. "I still feel sore from yesterday, but it's nothing that a little blood can't fix."
"I'll go ask one of the nurses for a blood bag then," said Randy as he hands me the black duffle. Your clothes, a toothbrush, and a travel sized tube of toothpaste is inside-"
"Say no more," I say as I place my hand on his mouth in order to shush him. "I know where the bathroom is in this room. I can handle the rest."
"Well aren't you cocky . . ." he tells me with a smirk as I take out my clothes, the toothbrush, and the toothpaste from out the bag.
'No . . . I'm just being practical," I say as I peck him on the lips. "Now go get me my blood bag. I'm starving here."
"You're wish is my command my lady," he tells me with a slight bow. I let out a small chuckle at his antics before making my way over to the bathroom. Unfortunately for me, the bathroom didn't have a shower, so I was left to just changing into my clothes for now. Once I did that, wash my face, and brushed my teeth, I stepped back out into the room to see Randy waiting patiently with a blood bag in hand, his cell phone in the other.
"So, what's going on with your movie so far?" I ask with a smirk as I put my toothbrush and toothpaste back into the duffle bag before taking the blood bag from his hand and quickly bite into it.
"Well . . . since I'm here and not there, the producers are postponing filming till next Monday," he tells me as he puts his phone away. "And since today's Friday, I get to spend the whole weekend with you and the girls."
"Hmm . . . how much longer is filming supposed to last?" I ask as I lift my fangs from off the bag.
"Another three weeks, not including Thanksgiving of course," he tells me quickly as he hands me my shoes from off the ground. "We should be done by at least mid-December, give or take."
"Just in time for Christmas Randy," I say as I finish the last of my drink. "And since you're not scheduled for any WWE events until . . . next year, you don't have to go straight to an event to do any work."
"Nope . . . I can just spend a peaceful December with you, the girls, and the rest of the family," he tells me with a grin as he pulls me into his arms. "That's a Christmas present in of itself."
"Uh huh . . ." I say in agreement as he pecks me on the nose. "So, how long do we have to wait till me and the twins can finally be discharged from this place anyway?"
"The doctor is actually waiting for us at the reception desk down the hall by the elevators right now," he tells me as he picks up the duffle bag and drapes the strap over his shoulder. "Once you put on your shoes, grab Gabi and the baby bag. I'll grab Dani and we can be on our way."
'Sounds like a plan to me . . ." I say as I break out of his grip. I drop the blood bag rapper into the trash and quickly put on my shoes before donning my coat. Once I had the baby bag strapped onto my shoulder, I gently picked up Gabi in my arms before joining Randy and Dani at the door. "We're not forgetting anything are we?"
"Uh . . . no," says Randy as he gives the room one last quick look. "Let's go."
I follow him out the door and into the hallway toward the reception desk, where the doctor that helped with the delivery was waiting patiently with her clipboard. Once she had gotten through some last minute things and procedures, she signed off on the discharge form. Randy had to hold Daniela with one arms in order to sign off on our release, and soon enough we were on the elevator on our way out of the place.
"So . . . how exactly are we going to get back home to the loft anyway?" I ask curiously as we step out of the building.
"Monica drove my Range Rover over here, now complete with a couple of car seats for our little girls here," he tells me with a smirk as he scans the lot. "Oh there it is . . . it's the first one by the entrance."
It didn't take us long to reach the Range Rover, and once we got Dani and Gabi settled in their own respective car seat, we were on our way home, with Randy driving and me sitting in between the baby car seats in the back. Although, I have a feeling Randy isn't bringing us home that quickly.
"Randy, you do know you just turned us in the direction that takes us longer to get home right?" I ask as I looked at him suspiciously. "What's the meaning of this?"
"Just sit back and relax babe . . ." he tells me with that mischievous smirk of his. "I'm just taking us on a more scenic route. We'll go grab something to eat for breakfast and then we'll go home. I have a surprise waiting for you back home that you're going to love."
Normal POV; An hour and a half later
"We're home girls!" said the Viper with a grin as they pulled into the driveway of the loft. With a wave of her hand, the Anaconda used her powers to open the gate telepathically, the silver gate rolling up on command. Randy drove the car into the building and parked it right next to his mate's Camaro before cutting the engine, the grin still apparent on his face. "Welcome home ladies."
"Hmm . . . whatever surprise you have in store for us must definitely have both of our families involved in it," said the Anaconda as she began to unbuckle the straps that held the twins in their car seats. Dani and Gabi could only respond with little baby sounds as their dad opened up the door on Gabi's side. "Then again, there's a whole bunch of cars with rental stickers parked outside the property. Care to explain?"
"You'll see once we get upstairs . . ." the Viper told her sneakily as he took Gabi out of her seat. "Now let's get on missy."
'Alright, just let me get out first . . ." said 'Manda as she got out of the car. Once she got Dani in her arms, the two made their way over to the elevator. Once they were inside, Randy pressed the button to go upstairs while Amanda took a small whiff of the cart.
"Why do I smell all of our friends scents mixing about in this elevator?" asked Amanda as her face looked like realization was starting to dawn on her. Randy only smiled at her in return as the elevator reached their floor, and once the doors opened up, she saw exactly why. "Oh no, you didn't . . .!"
"Oh yes he did!" said Monica as she, their friends, and their families all stood on either side of the hallway. "SURPRISE! Consider this your homecoming/baby shower."
"Homecoming/ baby shower huh?" asked Amanda as he snuck a peak at the highly decorated living room that was just down the hall. "Well this is just perfect . . ."
"Aw . . . the twins look so cute!" called Layla as the girls cautiously neared the two. "The curly haired one is Gabriella right?"
"Yep, and the straight haired one is Daniela," said Randy as he slightly adjusted his grip on Gabi. 'Say hi you two."
Dani didn't say anything. She just looked at everyone curiously, but Gabi made a few gurgling noises, which earned some swooning from most of the room, especially from the Divas.
"Well . . . I guess we figured out who's the talkative one of the two." said Nate as he looked at his two nieces.
"C'mon, let's not crowd around the two parents alright?" called Calypso as she broke free from the group. "I know we all have a lot to talk about and a lot of questions, but let's give them some time first before we answer them alright."
"That's fine with us," said Edge as he crossed his arms. "Besides, we can wait a little longer to find out who's the godparents right everyone?"
"Have you given that any thought?" asked Amanda as telepathically sent the message to her beau. "Because I haven't."
"Me neither babe . . ." said Randy, who looked just as sheepish as she did. "Me neither . . ."
Who're the godparents? We'll find out soon enough.
