Okay so the last few chapters I forgot to put disclaimers. Just so you know I don't own any songs that I put in this story! I might change the lyrics a bit so that they will fit the setting and character or what the character has experienced describing perfectly. There is going to be lots of plot twists in the upcoming chapters, so prepare for a ride worth wild.

Disclaimer: I don't own B.O.B or Circle of Life from the Lion King, Strange Sight from the new Tinkerbell movie The Legend of the Never beast, Frozen Heart from the movie Frozen, and finally I don't own Wings By Little Mix.

I wake up to the sound of shuffling. I don't feel like getting up at all. "Rise and shine princess, you got a big day ahead a ya!" Bill shouts in my ear.

"I'm up, I'm up!" I say crawling out of bed.

"Boy, you slept in late," he says.

"Hey don't judge! I've been through more than you think." He gives a confused expression.

"Never mind, just forget I ever said anything," I say quickly to cover it up. There's no way I'm telling them what happened. At least not, right now. I walk to the washroom occasionally smiling at someone, or waving hello. After a quick shower, I headed back to my barrack. I get dressed and put on all the things I need, when I realized something. How was I going to hide my guitar? I searched and searched that big brain of mine, but the idea just never came to me. I smacked the palm of my hand against my forehead repeatedly.

"Uhm Ashley, you ok?" Lipton asks, looking at me with concerned eyes.

"Yah I just don't know where to put my guitar," I say. Then an idea popped into my head. "Why didn't I think of that earlier?" I say jumping out of my seat.

"What did you think of now?" he asks cautiously. After all that's happened he probably thinks I'm insane.

"I could just give it to Uncle Sink."

"Uncle!?" Lip exclaims.

"Don't tell anyone Lip okay?"

"Okay..." he says. I give him a big toothy grin.

From the day we arrive on this planet

And blinking, step into the sun

There's more to see than can ever be seen

More to do than can ever be done

There is far too much to take in here

More to find than can ever be found

But the sun rolling high

Through the sapphire sky

Keeps great and small on the endless round

It's the circle of life

And it moves us all

Through despair and hope

Through faith and love

Till we find our place

On the path unwinding

In the circle

The circle of life

It's the circle of life

And it moves us all

Through despair and hope

Through faith and love

Till we find our place

On the path unwinding

In the circle

The circle of life

'That was beautiful,' Lip whispers. "How did you ever come up with that?"

"I just, I just," I stutter.

"It's ok I understand. We better get moving." he says nodding his head towards the door. We both get up and join the rest of the paratroopers.

"Hold on I have to get this to Sink!" I shout running in his direction. I almost pass right by him but I halt myself. "Sir could you hold onto this until after the march?"

"Sure thing. You run along now, get," he says. I run all the way back to easy company.

My feet are aching my muscles are all worn out, when we were told to set up camp I nearly collapsed. "Lieutenant Lovato!" Sobel shouts.

"Yes Sir," I reply.

"I expect supper served by 1930."

"Yes Sir!" I say marching off. I was handed a pot thing full of grub and was told to pass it out to all of Easy. I poured one last bowl for myself, before putting the pot back in its place. "Ash over here!" George shouts. I walked over to the boys and plopped down right next to Bill. After several minutes of silence, I decided to break the quiet.

"You know, my Oma would've never approved of this food. She'd make you dump it all out, and then she'd give you Eintopf with a side of Apfelstrudel."

"An Apfel what now?" Bill ask.

"Apfelstrudel, which is apple strudel in another language," I say.

"I haven't heard of any Italian food like that," Frank says./span/p

"That's because I'm not Italian. I'm Scottish from Papa's side, and from Mama's side..."

"And from your Mom's Side...," Joe says, raising his eyebrows./span/p

"Nothing just forget I said anything." I stare at the grass near my feet and softly sing to myself.

Strange Sight

You stand in the light

You're wrong, but you're right

And my heart's beating wildly

Strange how I'm scared but delighted

Afraid, but excited too

You have a cold heart

You're reckless and distant,

But I'll be persistent

I will understand you

Strange how I'm drawn to the danger

I reach out my hand to you

Do you long to be left all alone?

Set apart with a heart made of stone?

Let me help, let's begin

Let me learn

Won't you let me in?

All the light, let it show

You are a strange sight

Some new kind of wonder

With good hidden under

I'm sure that it's true

Strange how your dark doesn't faze me

No, I won't give up on you

Do you long to be left all alone?

Set apart with a heart made of stone?

Let me help, let's begin

Let me learn

Won't you let me in?

All the light, let it show

If you're caught in the shadows

And turned all around

Lost in the darkness

You will be found

If you hear my voice

Follow the sound

Cause I'm here to guide you home

Do you long to be left all alone?

Set apart with a heart made of stone?

Let me help, let's begin

Let me learn

Won't you let me in?

All the light, let it show

Do you long to be left all alone?

Set apart with a heart made of stone?

There's a light that you shine

There's a love, I see it in your eyes

All the dark, let it go

You're not alone

When I look up everyone's eyes were trained on me. I let out a nervous laugh, and run my fingers through my hair. "I know how to ride horse," I say.

"Oh really?" George questions.

"Yes really. In fact, I'd always be riding Angus from dawn until dusk. He was the sweetest horse you'd ever meet."

"Didn't you ever get hungry?" Jo asks.

"Before I left I'd Take a basket full of food, and I'd ride Angus Down into the heart of the forest."

"I know if I were you I'd get lost," bill says.

"Bet you would," I sigh giggling. "You know I used to eat all day back then, but for some reason I never got fat. Hmm then puberty came and every girl I knew already had breast and ass, and all I had was a brick wall."

"Yes but you're not a flat chest no more," Don says pointing at my chest.

"Well of course I'm not. Jesus I remember wishing for bigger boobs and ass every night," I say. "Now I got giant watermelons in the front!" The boys fell into a fit of laughter.

"Let me guess, you regretted it afterwards?" Jo questions.

"You bet yah!"

"I went and complained to my Ma about it once; you know what she said to me? She told Ashley baby don't worry about your size, you know boys like a little more booty to hold at night." I say with a chuckle.

"She does have a point," Tab points out

"I got an idea. Why don't we all turn in for the night?"

"Great Idea!" Everyone scrambles to their feet and heads to his tent.

Later that night I lay wide awake staring at the back of Georges head. The heat of bodies all around me was over whelming. I sat up with a sigh and crawled out of tent kicking George in the head in processes. I walked a little ways away from my tent sit down in the grass, and stared up at the stars. For a moment grief grips my heart.

Flashback

December 25, 1937

"What the fuck are you so afraid of," I shout.

"Shut up leave me alone!"

"No you shut up! Why do you shut me out! Wh-why do you shut the world out! WAT THE FUCK ARE YOU HIDING FROM!"

"I SAID ENOUGH!"

"Don't you dare tell me that's enough cause both know it isn't!" she flinches. I start to walk down the hall, and climb up the stairs making sure I slam the music room door shut behind me.

"I silent tears flowing down my cheeks as the memories of the past flood my mind. Why was I so stupid! Why couldn't I just keep my mouth shut! I let out a frustrated sigh as I realize just how cold it is, yet I don't really feel it. I crawl back into the tent. Shivering I curl myself into a ball and try to keep myself warm, pretty soon I feel my eyes closing and I fell asleep, with my sister occupying my mind.

"JESSE!" I scream sitting up. I run a hair through my hair, realizing it was all a dream. "Not real, not real, not real," I murmur to myself, standing up.

"Ashlynn come on Sobel getting aggravated," Don says, peaking through the flap of the tent.

"I'm coming," I say. I short while later I join the rest of the boys, and we continue the rest of our march. For a while all you can hear is the rhythm of boots marching on the ground. I nudge Don with my elbow, and point to my mouth gesturing that I'm about to sing. He seems to understand so he starts off singing

"We fall upon the risers..." until eventually everyone joined in. I waited for the right moment before I butted in with a song that came from the mountains of Germany strong A/N :( Not really)

Born of cold and winter air,

and mountain rain combining.

This icy force both foul and fair,

has a frozen heart worth mining.

So cut through the heart, cold and clear.

Strike for love and strike for fear.

See the beauty, sharp and sheer,

Split the ice apart,

And break the frozen heart,

Hup! Ho!

Watch your step!

Let it go!

Hup! Ho!

Watch your step!

Let it go!

Beautiful!

Powerful!

Dangerous!

Cold!

Ice has a magic,

can't be controlled. Stronger than one,

stronger than ten,

stronger than a hundred men!

Ho!

Born of cold and winter air,

and mountain rain combining.

This icy force both foul and fair

has a frozen heart worth mining.

Cut through the heart, cold and clear.

Strike for love and strike for fear.

There's beauty and there's danger here.

Split the ice apart,

Beware the frozen heart...

My cheeks heat up as I realize that everyone went silent and the only sounds were the sound of boots marching, and the occasional cough from someone.

"Where did you learn that from lieutenant?" I hear Sobel ask.

"My Oma, Sir," I say.

"Oh really? And where did she learn it from?"

"I don't know, Sir." I could feel the glares Sobel was getting from every direction.

"Mmm really and who is your Oma," Sobel questions.

"My grandmother, Sir."

"Where is she from?" My eyes widen as I hold my breath. I don't want to answer that question, but if I don't I may be shot in the head. I chew on my lip avoiding eye contact with him.

"I asked you a question Lieutenant."

"I'm sorry Sir but I can't bring myself to say it," I whisper.

"Well then don't sing anything that isn't some song of taught you all before, without my permission."

"Yes Sir," I say.

"Very well then," he says walking back into his positions. An hour passes before I have the courage to speak.

"Permission to sing Sir," I shout.

"Permission granted," Sobel says. I look over in Dick's direction and he gives me a curt nod.

"Stay away from romance songs Lieutenant," Sobel warns.

"Alright sir," I say. When we moved to my Oma's Mansion in Mississippi, it was when I was 9 turning 10. The kids at school always teased me. They'd call me Richie rich girl, and they'd often say that I had no idea what it was like to go to sleep on an empty stomach. Little did they know, the only reason why we moved in with Oma was because we lost our home because papa didn't have enough money to pay taxes. One day I came home crying like crazy, and my mama asked me what was wrong. I told her everything, from the easing to the hair pulling. That day she said to me," Ashly Hun don't waste your life, just spread your wings my little butterfly. Don't let what they say keep you up at night And if they give you shhhh... Then they can walk on by. Darling they can't detain you cause wings are made to fly."

A wide smile spreads across my face as I think of the most perfect song to sing.

Mama told me not to waste my life

She said spread your wings my little butterfly

Don't let what they say keep you up at night

And if they give you shhhh...

Then they can walk on by

My feet, feet can't touch the ground

And I can't hear a sound

But you just keep on running up your mouth yeah

Walk, walk on over there

'Cause I'm too fly to care, oh yeah

Your words don't mean a thing

I'm not listening

Keep talking, all I know is

Mama told me not to waste my life,

She said spread your wings my little butterfly

Don't let what they say keep you up at night

And they can't detain you

'Cause wings are made to fly

And we don't let nobody bring us down

No matter what you say – it won't hurt me

Don't matter if I fall from the sky

These wings are made to fly

(Hey, hey, woo!)

I'm firing up on that runway

I know we're gonna get there someday

But we don't need no "Ready. Steady. Go!", no

Talk, talk turns into air

And I don't even care, oh yeah

Your words don't mean a thing

I'm not listening

Keep talking, all I know is/strong/span/p

Don't let what they say keep you up at night,

And they can't detain you

'Cause wings are made to fly

And we don't let nobody bring us down

No matter what you say – it won't hurt me

Don't matter if I fall from the sky

These wings are made to fly

I don't need no one saying hey, hey, hey, hey

I don't hear no one saying hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

You better keep on walking

I don't wanna hear your talking, boy'd

You better keep on walking

I don't wanna hear your talking, boy'd

Your words don't mean a thing

I'm not listening

They're just like water off my wings

Mama told me not to waste my life

She said spread your wings my little butterfly (my little butterfly)/

Don't let what they say keep you up at night

And they can't detain you

'Cause wings are made to fly

And we don't let nobody bring us down

No matter what you say – it won't hurt me

Don't matter if I fall from the sky

These wings are made to fly

And we don't let nobody bring us down

No matter what you say – it won't hurt me

Don't matter if I fall from the sky

These wings are made to fly

Panting, I slowly look around me at the astounded faces. "Encore!" some shouts. I felt my face turn cherry red as chew on my already busted lip. As continue walking a fall to another flashback.

3 weeks before Christmas 1937

Sitting under the willow tree I sat at just a year before, grieving my Oma's death. I took a deep breath, and forced myself up to stretch my muscles, out of the corner of my eye something moved. I climbed on top of Angus and gave him a pat. He ran and ran until we were safely home. That's when I met his eyes.

"Lieutenant are you ok?" Don asks.

"Yah I'm fine," I say shaking my head.

"Well you've been quiet for too long. We were starting to get worried," Bill says from in front of me.

"Well I'm speaking now, aren't I," I say with scowl plastered to my face.

A few hours later I'm hitching up a tent with Lew.

"SO tell me, how'd you sleep last night?" he ask.

"Just fine," I lie.

"Mmmhmm sure..." he replies. I look at him then roll my eyes as I hammer down the wooden stake into the ground. I end up missing and hit my foot. Pain surges through my body as I shout out in pain.

"Fuck!" I yell laying g on the floor rubbing my foot.

"Medic!" I hear Lew shout. "Its ok Ash Doc's coming," he says kneeling by my side as I bite down on my busted up lip. I let out a loud moan as my foot throbs in pain.

"Ok Ash if you could get through a good whipping across the back at age 10, then you can make it through this," I say to myself. Soon enough Doc shows up with Annie by his side. He slips off my boot and sock and looks at the damage inflicted.

"Well it seems pretty beaten up. I don't think anything's broken, but just in case let it heal for a week. That means NO JUMPING," he says.

"No jumping," I reply, eyes wide.

"I'm afraid so," he says putting my sock and boot back on before walking off with Annie at his tail.
