Chapter 45: Family Breakfast
Normal POV; Sunday morning
"Randy . . . Are you there?" mumbled Amanda as she slowly opened her eyes to welcome in the new morning. She stretched her hand across the side of the bed Randy usually slept on, but all she felt was crumpled up bed sheet and mattress. She raised her head and looked around the room to see that Randy was not in the room, or the bathroom for that matter. That's when she looked past the open door into the nursery, where she finally saw the Viper walking around in the room cradling Gabriella in his arms, which brought a smile to Amanda's face.
"I guess he's so focused on Gabi that he hasn't noticed that I woke up already," said the Anaconda as she silently crawled out of bed. She quietly tiptoed out the room and walked over to the kitchen. "I guess this gives me the chance to make breakfast for everyone this time around. . ."
Amanda quickly took out a skillet and placed it on the stovetop before walking over to the fridge to grab some eggs, but once she took some eggs off the shelf and closed the door, she almost jumped out of her skin when she spotted Randy standing there with Daniela in his arms.
"Planning to cook the family breakfast I see . . ." said the Viper as he held Daniela to his shoulder.
"Yeah . . . I figured since you were handling the twins in the nursery, it would leave me enough time to make some breakfast for the rest of us," said Amanda as she walked over to the stove. "Is Gabi still sleeping?"
"Nah; your sister is handling her right now . . ." said the Viper as he sat down on one of the stools by the island. "Sooner or later, you're going to have to go into baby feeding mode once the two get antsy."
"I figured that, that's why I'm going to try to make breakfast as quickly as possible so I won't have to face any interruptions while I'm cooking . . ." said Amanda as she did a small shrug. "So babe, how would you like your eggs?"
"Just fry them for me babe . . ." answered Randy as Monica walked in with Gabi cradled close to her shoulder. "Monica, how would you like your eggs?"
"The only way that I usually prepare them myself . . ." said Monica as she sat down on the stool right next to Randy's. "An omelet stuffed with cheese please. . . I know being a wrestler means we have to eat right in order to maintain our healthy bodies, but when it comes to my eggs, I'll only have them prepared one way and one way only, and that is that."
"You really are sensitive when it comes to how your eggs are made aren't you Monica?" asked Randy as he looked at her with an eyebrow raised while Amanda took out another skillet and placed it on the stovetop.
"I have been . . . a little more open to trying different styles in making eggs, but the cheese omelet is my go to favorite, hands down." said Monica as he shook her head.
"You've been more open in trying different styles of eggs?" asked Amanda as she looked at her sister in shock. "When did this start?"
"Uh . . . I don't know," said Monica as a thoughtful look came across her face. "Since I started dating Wade probably. . . I guess you can say he's helped me open my eyes when it comes to tasting foods I've never had in my life."
"Wade has helped you try out new foods huh . . . Well, that's something different for ya," said Amanda as she grabbed a bowl from the cupboard. "I've seen you go through plenty of relationships throughout the years, but this is the first time I've ever heard about a boyfriend of yours actually getting you to try new food. . . What's with the change?"
"I don't know . . ." said Monica as she shook her head. "I guess I've decided to try something new for once instead of going through my same old standard routine."
"You decided?" asked Randy as a knowing smirk came across his face. "Or did Wade help decide it for you . . .?"
"What are you getting at Orton?" asked the werewolf as she shot him a suspicious look.
"I think I have a feeling where this is going . . ." mumbled Amanda as she began to beat the eggs. "Wade has helped to open your eyes to a lot of things since you two started dating huh . . .?"
"Uh . . . I guess so. Now that I think about it . . ." mumbled the twin as she shook her head. "I never liked lamb . . ."
"Well you never liked lamb until you started dating Wade right?" asked Amanda as she walked over to the fridge to get some cheese slices. "Is that what you were going to say?"
"Well . . . close enough . . . I was going to say that I never liked lamb ever since our aunt in Morocco took us to that horrible restaurant in Marrakech . . . Remember that sis?" asked Monica as she shot her sister a knowing look. When she noticed the grimace that came across Amanda's face at the mention of the memory, Monica couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Randy and the baby twins just looked confused. "Ever since that night, I was turned off of the idea of eating lamb, but thanks to Wade, and the very nice restaurant he took me to for dinner during the WWE's last visit to Miami, I'm more welcomed to the idea."
"If I also remember correctly, you weren't so much of a soccer fan before you and Wade started dating . . ." said Amanda as she took out a spatula from one of the kitchen daughters. "So can you explain to me why there is a Wayne Rooney jersey and a Lionel Messi t-shirt hanging on your wall in your room?"
"Okay . . . so Wade helped me find the beauty in soccer . . . It's no big deal," mumbled Monica as the tiny hint of a rumble was heard from Gabriella's belly. "Sis, Gabi's hungry again . . ."
"Ah great . . . Looks like you're going to have to wait a little longer for those fried eggs Ran," said Amanda as she quickly placed the spatula on the counter. "You know, I have a feeling Gabi here is going to be a bit greedy when she's older."
"Now why would you say that?" asked Randy as he watched as his youngest daughter was passed from her aunt to her mother.
"Because she tends to have a bigger appetite than her sister," said Amanda as she took Monica's seat right next to him while Monica went over to the stove to continue the cooking. "This girl is definitely the hungry twin. I can tell you that . . ."
"Huh . . . my mom says that between me and my siblings, I was always the one that had the biggest appetite when we were babies," said Randy as he shook his head. "I guess Gabriella earned her appetite from me."
"Hmm . . . after knowing you for so many years, that's no surprise." said Monica as she let out a small chuckle. Randy instantly shot her his signature Viper glare, but since her back was turned to him, it had no effect. However, it did have an effect on Daniella. As soon as she looked at her father's intense face, she instantly started to cry, which instantly got her father's attention.
"Oh I'm so sorry Dani . . . I didn't mean to scare you," said Randy as he spoke in his softest voice possible in order to calm her down. "I'm sorry . . . Please don't cry."
"Well what do you know . . . the Viper can scare babies . . . but we all knew that already." said Monica as she put the cheese on top of the eggs in the skillet.
"Babe, I suggest never pulling the Viper glare out when either Gabi or Dani are looking . . ." said Amanda as she de-latched Gabi from off her boob before covering up. "Apparently, that signature glare of yours may give them nightmares."
"I guess so . . . Hopefully, they'll grow out of it once they get older. If it can happen with Alanna, it can happen with them." said Randy as he watched as his mate walked over to her sister.
"Oh yeah . . . I remember when Alanna saw that glare of yours for the first time," said Monica as she took Gabi from Amanda's arms so that she could continue the cooking. "She was balling so much it took Sam an hour and 15 minutes to get her to calm down. . . I thought you had scarred her for life that day."
"Yeah . . . that was definitely a low point in my young parenting career . . ." mumbled Randy as he finally got Daniella to settle down. "Babe . . . just toast some bread with my fried eggs. I'll just turn it into a fried egg sandwich and eat it."
"I bought some bagels yesterday while I was at the store. You can use those for bread," said Monica as she began to play with Gabi's little fingers.
"That's probably a good idea . . ." said Amanda as she slid the omelets on to two separate plates. She quickly put a couple of pre-sliced bagels into the toaster before taking out another two eggs from the fridge and cracking them over the other skillet on the stove. "Babe, when is your flight supposed to leave again?"
"It leaves at eight tonight, so I still have most of the day to spend with the rest of you guys," said Randy as he kissed Daniella's forehead. "However . . . do you have any idea on what we should do today?"
"We should start by sorting through all the baby gifts everyone got for Gabi and Dani. We put that off for way too long," said Amanda as she turned off the stove and slid Randy's fried eggs onto a third plate before taking the bagels out of the toaster and putting one on each plate. "Once we figure out what the girls got and what they didn't get, we can go to Baby's R Us or some other store that specialize on baby stuff and stack up on the stuff the girls will still need."
"Sounds like a plan to me . . ." said Randy as Daniella's stomach began to rumble. "Babe, Daniella stomach is starting to growl for food."
"Pass her over here . . ." said Amanda as she placed the three plates into each respective person. Once Amanda was seated and Monica had pulled the mobile crib from the nursery into the kitchen with Gabriella already sleeping inside, Randy passed Daniella to the older twin so that she could be fed before he dug into his food. "I hope my cooking skills haven't slacked since the last time I cooked in this kitchen."
"On the contrary, your cooking skills haven't slacked at all . . ." said Randy as he took a bite out of his sandwich before grabbing the salt shaker. "But for this dish, it just needs a bit of salt."
"Of course it does . . ." said Amanda as she rolled her eyes. "How much filming have you done so far since the movie shoot started?"
"I got at least a third of my scenes done already . . ." said Randy as he looked at her proudly. "The hunters haven't been that much of a problem so far with the film, but it could change as long as they are in the area."
"Have you encountered one face to face yet?" Amanda asked him curiously as he detached Daniella from her right breast before she commenced burping her.
"Oh . . . we both did," said Monica as she scooped her omelet onto one of the slices of her bagel. "A hunter named Sydia snuck into Randy's suite while her partner Neo was snooping around the first floor disabling the security cameras. I handled Neo before stopping Sydia from killing your man here."
"Oh . . . so Monica here saved your life huh?" asked Amanda with a smirk as she began to lull Dani to sleep. "You hear that Dani? Your auntie saved your daddy's life."
"I could have handled her even if Monica wasn't there to help me out . . ." said Randy as he shook his head. "Although I do appreciate the help Monica; I was indeed lucky that you were there."
"Of course you do . . . I bet you're appreciating the fact I stopped that hunter before she made a necklace out of your entrails . . ." said Monica as she began to put some salt and pepper on her omelet.
"Well that's a dark thing for you to say Monica . . ." said Amanda as she gently set Dani down next to her sister. "That's usually something I say, especially when I'm in character for the WWE Universe."
"Well the tables have turned haven't they . . ." said Monica as she shook her head. "Or it could be your serpentine gimmick is starting to rub off on me."
"Hey!" called Randy as he shot a look to each twin. "What about me?"
"What about you?" the twins said in unison as they turned to the Viper. Even though they were twins, it was rare for them to say something in unison, so it was a shock to Randy when he heard them speak to him at the same time, especially since their voices mirrored the other when they spoke at the same time.
"Are you saying that some of my habits haven't rubbed off on you?" asked the Viper as he turned to a curious looking Monica.
"Well . . . I tend to get loud when I'm frustrated just like you do . . ." said Monica as she thought it over. "Besides that, I haven't really noticed anything else, but now that I think about it, I think Amanda has more similarities with you than I do Ran."
"Like what . . .?" asked Amanda as she took a bite out of her omelet sandwich. "How am I similar to Randy?"
"For starters, you two both have the same way of looking at people when you're angry or just want to glare at people," said Monica, which earned her glares from both the Anaconda and the Viper. "See! You're doing it right now you two!"
"Keep your voice down sis," ordered Amanda as she snuck a look at Dani and Gabi. "The girls are sleeping remember?"
"Oh right . . . sorry," said Monica a she too looked at the sleeping babies. "Anyway, you two tend to stare at each other the same way . . . sometimes it's all lovey-dovey, sometimes it's in a bit of a conspiratorial way, sometimes it's in a protective way . . ."
"So . . . you notice us staring at each other in similar ways?" asked Randy as he raised an eyebrow with half the remainder of his sandwich halfway toward his mouth, who sounded a little disturbed at the idea.
"Oh yeah . . . You can say I've been very aware of my surroundings these past few months . . ." said Monica as she shook her head. "This whole being soul mates thing has really brought you two close together huh?"
"Yeah . . . close enough to have two kids together . . ." said Amanda as she let out a small chuckle. "We really have gotten close. . ."
"From best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend, with three kids between each other . . ." said Randy as he turned to his mate, who only smiled back at him in return.
"And hopefully it progresses into something a little bit more," said Monica as she turned away from the couple, who suddenly had eyes for just each other at the moment. ". . . A walk down the aisle perhaps?"
"Monica . . . quit with that. You're starting to sound like Nate now," mumbled Randy as he turned to the younger twin. "'Manda and I will walk that bridge when we come to it, but for now, we're taking this relationship one step at a time."
"Uh huh . . . But I'll just tell you now. You two are going to get married eventually . . ." said Monica as she finished the last of her meal and put her plate in the sink. "I'm just saying that for the record."
"How many people that we know is going to tell us the same thing my sister just said?" asked Amanda as the two watched as her sister left the room.
"Probably a whole lot of them until we actually do get married . . ." mumbled Randy as he took another bite out of his sandwich.
"Randy . . ." said Amanda as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. "Will . . . will we ever get married?"
"Babe . . ." said Randy as he put down his food and turned to her. "Marrying you would be a dream come to life for me, but . . . I don't think we really need to rush into it. I think we should just take our time with our relationship, especially since we now have twins to take care of."
"Well aren't you just wise with your answer . . ." said Amanda as she let out a soft chuckle as Randy moved his hand to caress her cheek.
"Hey, they say men get wiser with age . . ." said Randy as he kissed her forehead. "Besides, with your psychic powers and that natural women's intuition of yours, it's going to be hard to come up with a creative and inventive way to propose to you."
"I wouldn't use my powers to look into your mind to see how you would propose to me . . ." said 'Manda as she shook her head. ". . . Okay, I may do it a little."
"You are so cute when you admit things . . ." said Randy as he kissed her lips. "Trust me; all good things will come in time. Now finish your breakfast. I'll bring the girls back to the nursery."
"You're not the boss of me." said 'Manda as she pouted at the Viper as he finished the last of his meal.
"Well I am older than you . . ." said the Viper as he put his plate in the sink before walking back toward the crib. "And I am stronger than you . . ."
"There's that, but when it comes to mental prowess, I beat you. Plus, I know all your wrestling moves inside and out. Whatever move you pull on me, I'll just quickly counteract you." said Amanda as she watched Randy as he began to push the mobile crib out the kitchen.
"So basically . . . we even each other out . . ." said Randy as he shook his head. "We're perfectly balanced . . . I think."
"I think so too . . ." said Amanda as she continued to eat. Randy shot her a smirk before walking out the room with the crib. ". . . But at least I know you're open to the idea of marrying me."
Amanda's POV; Hours later
"Babe . . ." I call out as I walk into our room. "Monica is waiting with the twins down in the Camaro. We're all ready to go. We're just waiting on you now Randy."
"I'm coming," he tells me as he walks out of the bathroom. "I just had to give my beard a last minute trim, and check my messages on my cell phone."
"Did you get any interesting ones?" I ask as I walk back out into the hallway, with Randy following close behind me.
"Yeah . . . I got a message from Ted about my appearance on the first Raw after Christmas," he tells me with a smirk. "It turns out I'm going to attack members of the Authority on my return."
"That's nice . . ." I say with a smirk as we walk toward the staircase. "You get to have some retribution against the guys that kicked you out of the group."
"Yeah well . . . It's not going to be seen by the television watching audience, that's for sure . . ." he tells me with a shake of his head as we descend the stairs. "I'm going to be attacking them, but it's going to be at the very end of the night, right after Raw finishes airing for the night. Apparently, they're going to say I suffered some sort of injury from the house show at MSG that's helping to . . . delay me from actually appearing on the show."
" . . . And so you're going to attack the Authority out of frustration . . ." I say as I put two and two together. "You have attacked out of frustration before so it's nothing new."
"I've basically made a career out of it . . ." he tells me with a grin as he wraps an arm around my waist as we made our way to my Camaro.
"Are you two ready to go now?" Monica asks us with a playful scowl on her face as she leans against the exterior of my car, right by the open back door. "I hope you guys weren't making us wait because you were making out upstairs."
"Nah . . . we weren't doing that," says Randy as he walks over to the front passenger seat while I hand Monica the car keys. "We're going to do that once we get to the airport."
"If you say so . . . Everyone get in," she says in an authoritative tone as she jogs over to the driver side door. I quickly do some careful maneuvering around Gabi's car seat to get to the space in the middle before Monica has a chance to start the car's engine. "When is filming for the movie supposed to end anyway Randy?"
"It's supposed to end sometime . . . like a week after Thanksgiving," he tells us with a shrug as we pull out of the building and onto the street. "So basically I'll be in New Mexico till Thanksgiving weekend. I'll fly back home that weekend to be with you guys and the rest of the family . . . and then I'll fly back to New Mexico after that to complete the last few days of filming before flying back here . . . It's a back and forth affair for me for the next few weeks."
"It also includes you dodging the attention of the hunters in the area everyday you're there. . ."I add with a wary chuckle as I cross my arms.
"Babe, I'm the Viper . . . I'll evade those hunters with no problem," he tells me with a smirk as he takes my hand in his and kisses my knuckles. For the rest of the car ride, we drive in comfortable silence till we reach the airport's main terminal. "Ah . . . here's my stop."
"Its' 6:30, so you still got plenty of time to make your flight Randy," says Monica as Randy got out of the car. "Plus, you didn't come with any luggage to begin with so you don't have to worry about checking in any baggage."
"Yeah . . . rushing home to reach your girlfriend before she gives birth to your children doesn't leave you that much time to pack all your bags to take them with you," says Randy as he opens the door that was right by the curb. "Well, it's time for me to say goodbye for now."
"Don't worry babe . . . Thanksgiving is only a couple of weeks away," I say with a smirk as he pecks Gabi on her tiny little forehead, which made her squirm just a little. "You'll be back in no time."
"Are you going to miss me?" he asks me cheekily as he leans his face toward mine.
"Of course I will . . ." I say with a smirk as he pecks my lips. "And so will the girls . . . Right girls?"
Daniella fell asleep during the car ride so she didn't answer. Gabi, on the other hand, is still awake and she answered me with a little baby moan.
"I'll take that as a yes . . ." Randy tells us with a chuckle as he pecks my cheek. "I'll see you for Thanksgiving."
"See you then . . ." I say as I give him a kiss on the lips. Randy quickly walks over to Dani's side and pecks her on the forehead. He waves at Monica before walking back onto the sidewalk and into the terminal. Monica and I watch him as he checks in at the counter and once he's done with that, he shoots us a small wave before walking down the hallway toward security checkpoint. "Aw . . . I miss him already."
"You'll see him in a few weeks . . ." Monica tells me with a smirk as she turns the car's engine back on. "Now buckle up . . . Considering how traffic looked on the opposite way that leads back home, we have quite the drive to get through."
"You do have a point there . . ." I say with a smirk as I buckle up my seatbelt. "Let's go home Monica. We have a few weeks of bonding time with my little babies to prepare for."
Monica shoots me a small smirk before pulling out into the road.
"You got that right sis . . . You got that right."
