Chapter 52: Back in the Groove

Normal POV

"Your winner: Randy Orton!"

As the referee held Randy's hand up in the air while Kane escaped the ring, the crowd in MSG shouted their approval as they continued to cheer for the returning Apex Predator. Amanda clapped her hands in approval as she watched her man climb up the second turnbuckle in order to do his signature pose, which got him even more applause from the appreciative audience. Once he climbed down from his elevated perch, he rolled out of the ring on the side 'Manda was standing by and wrapped an arm around her waist, bringing her close to his sweat covered body before the two could make their exit.

"Yeah, the sweat-covered body is actually not something I have missed over the past few months I've been away from the ring," said Amanda as she pinched her nose. ". . . Especially now with my heightened sense of smell; I never realized how bad you tend to smell after a match Ran."

"Eh . . . stop complaining will you? Besides, I just wrestled Kane after all, and he's known for his bad B.O.," said Randy as he waved her complaints off as the two walked up the ramp. "Just be glad you're actually working again."

"Fine; but you still got to do something about your smell. . ." grumbled Amanda as they reached the curtain, the sounds of their cheering fans still apparent behind them. Some of the fans that were sitting closest to their position had their cell phones out taking photos of the snake couple as they walked arm and arm. "The kids and I are not riding with you to the next city with you smelling like this."

"Don't worry. I'll shower before we leave," said Randy as they walked through the curtain and began walking down the hallway to craft services. "Hopefully by the time we're ready to leave, Hal will be at the hotel waiting for us."

"Oh Hal . . ." said Amanda as she shook her head. "What do you think Hal was up to during the weeks after filming for your movie wrapped up? You flew straight back to St. Louis after the last day, and since neither of us was working the past month and a half, he must have been up to something."

"I have no idea, to be exact . . ." said Randy as he shook his head. "When I called him a few days ago to make sure he would be coming to pick us up in New York today, he sounded like he was in a lot of traffic, which didn't give me much answers to his whereabouts."

"Hal is one mysterious fellow . . ." said Amanda as she shook her head. "Who knows what that man could have been up to all this time?"

"You said it . . ." said Randy as they walked into craft services. They instantly spotted their friends sitting around a large table at the far end of the room. Monica was there with them with Dani and Gabi siting in their stroller on one side of her while Wade sat on the other side with his arm wrapped around her shoulders.

"Ah, there's our favorite snake couple!" called Ted as he was the first to spot the incoming couple. "So, how does it feel to be back in the ring after all this time?"

"Ted man, it feels great to kick some butt again," said Randy as the two pulled up some chairs and sat down at the table next to the stroller. "I would have said another word besides 'butt', but then 'Manda would have gotten on my case about cursing around the girls."

"Why is it bad to curse around them now?" asked Edge as he raised an eyebrow. "They're only like a month and a half old. They won't remember if you cursed around them now . . . Wait, would they?"

"Actually, they would . . ." said Amanda as she shook her head. "Children of psychics tend to have much better memories than human children and other supernatural children. They can easily remember old stuff when they're really young, including if their mom or dad ever cursed around them or not when they were months old."

"You see . . . that's why I'm trying not to curse around them . . ." said Randy as he pointed to his mate. "I don't want Dani and Gabi to remember that I cursed around them a lot when they were just babies, plus 'Manda promised that she would slap me every time I do curse."

"Not in front of the girls of course . . ." Amanda quickly added as she shot Randy a knowing look.

"Heck, if psychic babies tend to have much better memories than other babies, then I bet they're going to be quite the geniuses in school when they're older," said Cody. "They'll remember a lot more stuff at least. . ."

"You make a very good point there Cody . . ." said Amanda as she turned to her twins. "Hopefully, they'll be better than their father in high school level math at least."

"Did you have to bring that up again?" Randy asked Amanda with a small scowl on his face as he crossed his arms. "High school was a good 16 years ago babe. I don't need another reminder of my apparently poor math skills."

"Hey, you're the one who almost didn't graduate because you had a poor math grade Mr." said Amanda as she turned to him. "Blame your poor study ethic, not me."

"Don't feel bad about that Randy. You're not the only one to have barely graduated from high school because they were failing a class," said Edge as he shook his head. "I almost didn't make it out of 11th grade because of my bad English grade."

"So what, you made up your work and managed to pass with a barely good grade?" asked the Viper as he turned to the Rated R Superstar.

"Nope; I failed the class and had to make it up in summer school," Edge told him bluntly as he shook his head. "It was hard, very hard, but I managed to pass it."

"Yeah, I have failed a class before . . ." added Ted as he shook his head. "I failed my physics class during my junior year. I had to spend the next month and a half in a stuffy classroom with no air conditioning while being taught by this balding physics teacher with the worse body odor I ever smelled. It was torture, absolute torture."

"What about you ladies?" asked Cody as he looked at the girls gathered around the table. "Did you fail any of your high school classes?"

"Gym!" Layla answered him bluntly as a scarred expression came across her face. "I still think my gym teacher had it out for me to this day. She would always make me run the most laps, made me do the most pushups . . . it was absolutely horrible. And the gym's air conditioning failed, so we basically had gym in a sweltering gymnasium, in the midst of a huge heat wave might I add."

"Why do you think your gym teacher had it out for you?" asked Monica as she raised an eyebrow. "Did you do something to her that made her act that way?"

"Well . . . I did always talk back to her, but only because she would say the stupidest things . . ." said Layla as she shook her head. "Trust me . . . if you had her as a teacher, you wouldn't help but talk back to her too."

"I didn't fail any of my classes when I was in high school," said Lita as she shook her head. ". . . but I did come close to not graduating because I almost didn't satisfy all of the graduation requirements. Everyone at my school had to earn a certain number of club credits in order to graduate, and almost all the clubs were full to capacity, but I managed to join a club that still had some spots left."

"Which club did you join?" asked Wade as he raised an eyebrow.

"Golf club. . ." said Lita, her face becoming flushed in embarrassment as most of the table broke out in laughter. "I was desperate okay? It was either that or the Prep Cadets."

"Prep Cadets?" asked Edge as he broke out even more laughter. "What in the world are the Prep Cadets?"

"They were this club that was all about school spirit, studying, and tutoring others in school subjects," said Lita as she shook her head. "That was so not my style back in high school, and that's why I joined Golf Club. . . It actually wasn't all that bad. Turns out you can use a golf club for a lot more things than just hitting a ping pong sized ball across a golf course."

"Was one of those things bashing windows?" asked Amanda as she sent her a knowing look.

"It helps to get the anger out . . ." said Lita as she shook her head, a wide grin coming across her face.

"Huh . . . that would explain the 4-iron golf club you insist on traveling with back in our bus. . ." said Edge as a thoughtful loo came across. "I always wondered why you had that with you, and now I know."

"I've had that golf club ever since my days in high school. It brings me good luck whenever I have it with me. . ." said Lita as she shook her head.

"Are you really that superstitious Lita?" asked Wade as he shook her head. "I never pegged you to be one of those people that believed in that sort of thing."

"Even the best of us can be a little superstitious sometimes . . ." said the redhead as she shook her head. "Besides, they say that athletes are some of the most superstitious people in the world. I bet some of you have a few routines you do every time before you have a match, or you carry something that brings you good luck. For example, we all know Cena always wears a baseball cap or carries one with him everywhere he goes to bring him luck!"

"Yeah, when it comes to bringing hats around with us everywhere we go, John and I are both guilty of that . . ." said Monica as she shook her head.

"Now that I think about it, I always carry around the first $100 bill my father ever gave me," said Ted as he shook his head. "He gave it to me when I was 15, and I never spent it. It's still nestled in a pocket in my wallet to this day."

"Wait a minute . . . why would he give you a $100 bill just like that?" asked Kofi as he raised an eyebrow.

"I've never asked him his reason for it . . ." said Ted with a shrug. ". . . And I don't care. All I know is that I am never spending that bill. It's a sentimental object, a very valuable sentimental object."

"HAS ANYONE SEEN WADE? HIS MATCH IS NEXT!"

"Oh . . . that's for me. I better get going!" said Wade as he got out of his seat. He quickly pecked Monica on the lips before jogging down the hallway to the curtain area, just as John walked into the room, his eyes looking warily at 'Manda before taking a seat right next to her sister.

"John, why did you shoot 'Manda a wary look?" asked Cody as he looked at him curiously, while Randy shot the Massachusetts native a knowing look. "It's like you're scared to offend her because you did something earlier to tick her off . . . Wait a minute, that's exactly what happened isn't it?"

"You can say that again Cody . . ." said Randy as he shook his head. "John, do you want to tell them the story or should I?"

"You do it . . ." said John as he turned to the Viper. "Between the two of us, you're more likely to escape getting beat up by Ms. Red Eyes over here than I am."

"Ooh . . . this sounds good," said Kelly as a grin came across her face, just as some of the other wrestlers at the table began to look eager to hear the story themselves. "What happened, and do not skimp on the details."

"Well, it all started when 'Manda left to go meet up with seamstress. After she left, I went over to our locker room and got inside. John arrived minutes later knocking on my door looking unsure about something Monica told him earlier," explained Randy as he shot the younger twin a look. "Apparently Monica told John that Dani and Gabi don't respond to well to his rap music."

"Don't respond too well to his rap music?" Monica asked the Viper with an eyebrow raised. "More like cry when they hear his rap music, to be precise. They don't mind the rap music we hear today, the clean version of course! They even don't mind other rap-based theme songs in the WWE like Truth's and Ted's. It's the rap music John records that they just don't like."

"John didn't believe it for himself, so he decided to play his theme song for the girls in order to determine if what Monica said was true . . ." said Randy as he snuck a look at 'Manda, who was staring at the twins with an inquisitive look in her eyes. "Well, he soon found out that what she said was true because the girls began crying as soon as five seconds of his theme song played."

"And let me guess, 'Manda heard her babies crying and got angry didn't she?" said Edge as he shook his head.

"She almost wrecked John's brain because he made Dani and Gabi cry," said Randy as he shook his head. "You should have seen him run out the room. You were that scared huh John?"

"My mother has always told me to never make a mother angry, especially if her children are just babies," said John as he shook his head. "I'm never making that same mistake twice. Never again!"

"Sis is there something up?" asked Monica as she turned to her sister, who still never moved her gaze from her daughters. "You've been staring at your girls for the past ten minutes straight."

"Shush! I can sense their psychic link to each other. . . ." said Amanda as she continued to look at her twins. ". . . And it's definitely a strong one at that."

"Hold up!" called Alicia as she looked at the older woman in shock. "Dani and Gabi already have a psychic link with each other? I don't know, but aren't they a bit too young for that? Heck, aren't they a bit too young to develop there psychic powers in the first place?"

"No . . . it's perfectly normal for twin psychics to establish their psychic link when they're this young, and have their psychic powers developed period. . . . The usual age for it anyway is between one and three months," said Amanda as Randy joined her in staring at their twins, his eyes easily showing his curiosity. "I'm just shocked that their connection is this strong."

"It's unusual for psychic twins to have a very strong connection this early in life?" asked Randy as he turned to his mate.

"No, it's unusual for psychic twins to have such a strong connection with each other when only one of their parents is psychic," said Amanda as she shook her head, a small smirk showing across her face. "I figured Dani and Gabi's connection would be weaker than the connection Monica and I developed when we were their age, but it's as strong as ours. I just never expected that."

"Maybe you just have twin psychic prodigies on your hands . . . ?" said Kaitlyn as she eyed the twins. "Amanda, you are a prodigy in the psychic arts yourself. Maybe the girls just inherited your mental talents?"

"That could be it, but I'm not sure . . ." mumbled Amanda as she snuck one last look at her daughters, both of them now staring up at her. ". . . Eh, I'll call my mom about it later. Maybe she could explain this a bit better to me."

"Hey, if the twins' connection to each other is just as strong as the one you and Monica have, then you have some very talented psychic daughters on your hands," said Sheamus as he shook his head. "Imagine it Randy, you living in household where the majority of the occupants have psychic powers that allow them to things like easily read your mind . . ."

"If that's the case, then I'll never have a sense of privacy again . . ." said Randy as he shook his head, earning him a few chuckles in response. Goodbye privacy . . ."

"Don't worry, we won't look into your mind that much . . ." said Amanda as she pat him on his leg. "We'll only look into it enough that it will give us an advantage against you in certain situations."

"Thanks babe . . ." said Randy in a sarcastic tone of voice, which got him a few more chuckles from his friends. ". . . That makes me feel so much better."

"Only the best for you Ran . . ." said Amanda as she gave him a peck on the cheek. ". . . Only the best for you babe."

Amanda's POV; An hour & a half later

"Randy, guess what I found out!" I call out as I walked into our locker room to see Randy fastening the buttons of his shirt. "Turns out you're not completely going to be on the sidelines just yet."

"What do you mean by that 'Manda?" he asks me with an eyebrow raised as he begins to put on his winter boots. "I thought I wasn't wrestling again till after the Rumble. Tonight's supposed to be my last night for a while."

"Well not quite . . . The writers decided to change the script for this upcoming Raw in D.C.,"I tell him with a smirk as I quickly check on the twins. They were both still sitting in their stroller, but Gabi was already asleep while Dani as awake, but looking like she was ready to fall asleep any second. "You're going to be working on Monday, but you're not going to be on camera. In order to give the audience a glimpse of what's probably going to come once you make your official return back, the writers have decided that you're going to appear at the end of Raw, right after the cameras stop rolling, in order to save John from an attack at the hands of the Authority."

"Do I get to RKO anyone?" Randy asks me hopefully as he ties his laces.

"Yes . . . I think you get to RKO one of J&J, or Kane . . ." I tell him with a grin as I walk over to the couch and sit next to him. "After that night, then you're not wrestling till after the Rumble."

"Good to know . . . good to know," he tells me with a small shake of his head. "You know, walking in to this arena today . . . I was expecting to find out that I was scheduled for a lot more work than just two appearances."

"Well you know what they say Randy . . . You have to expect the unexpected," I tell him with a smirk as I wrap my arms around his shoulders. "Besides, you shouldn't think of this sudden lack of work as a negative thing."

"I shouldn't?" Randy asks me with a smirk as he wraps his arms around my waist. "Then what should I think of it as?"

"You should think of it as a sudden stroke of good luck . . ." I tell him with a smirk. "Yeah, you're sitting on the sidelines because you're not scheduled for any wrestling matches anytime soon, but look on the bright side. You get to spend all the upcoming break time with me and the twins; we're not separated from each other because of work, and best of all: you're still getting paid every week. What more do you want?"

"Hmm . . . you make some very good points Amanda," he tells me with a smirk as he pecks my cheek. "We're definitely not separated due to lack of works. I'm getting paid for not doing anything. . . And best of all, I 'm spending my time off with you and our little family."

"Our little family . . ."

"Our little family . . ." he tells me with a grin before pressing his lips to mine. It didn't take us long to start engaging in our own game of tonsil hockey, both of us practically wrestling each other with our tongues in order to gain the attention. My phone starts ringing just as Randy starts weaving his fingers into my hair, breaking the mood in an instant. "Is it just me, or is it just a constant thing for something to interrupt us whenever we kiss at work?"

"I guess it just can't be helped," I say with a smirk as I take my phone out of my pocket and answer it. "Hello Hal!"

"'Manda, it's good to hear from you again . . ." he tells me in a jovial tone of voice. "Look, I'm waiting in the bus on the same block as the hotel you and the rest of the snake brood is staying at. Are you guys still at MSG?"

"Yeah, we're still here at the arena . . ." I tell him with a smirk as I feel Randy's lips coast across the right side of my neck. "We're just about to leave now actually. We'll see you in about a half hour alright?"

"Fine by me . . ." I hear him say as he let out a small chuckle. "I'll see you guys in a little while."

"Thanks Hal . . ." I tell him before hanging up. I sneak a look at Randy, who was now planting small kisses along my shoulder, his eyes now closed as if he was in deep concentration. "Let's go Lover Boy. Our bus driver is waiting for us and we still have to check out of the hotel before we leave."

"Okay, but let me do this one last thing. . ." he says into my shoulder before raising his head up.

"And that is what exactly?" I ask with a smirk as I break out of his grip and stand up on my feet. As soon as I turn around, I feel his big hand give me a hard smack to my backside, making me turn back around in an instant to see him looking at me with a childish grin on his face. "Really Ran?"

"What? I do have my moments . . ." he tells me with a chuckle as he grabs his coat. I quickly slip mine on before putting my purse and the girls' baby bag into the pocket under the stroller and taking up my duffle bag from off the ground. Randy takes over stroller pushing duties, so I open the door for him as he pushes the stroller out with one hand while holding his duffle bag in the other. We quickly say our goodbyes to the others before leaving the arena, the cold wind hitting us repeatedly as we quickly make our way back to our hotel. As soon as we reach the block where our hotel was at, our eyes instantly go straight toward the shiny black bus parked at the other end of the block. "Uh . . . do you think that's our bus?"

"Probably, if Hal invested in a new paint job . . ." I tell him unsurely. "That is the only tour bus on this block, and Hal did say he was parked on the same block as our hotel . . ."

"RANDY . . . 'MANDA!"

We both turn to see Hal walking out of the hotel with a cup of coffee in hand and a big grin on his face as he walked over to us.

"Long time, no see Hal!" says Randy as he and Hal shake hands before I give him a hug.

"It has been a while . . ." says the older man as he looks down at the stroller. "These two won't give me that much trouble while we're on the road will they?"

"Nope . . . they even sleep through the night, and they're not really criers," Randy explains to him as he shakes his head. "They will cry if you play John's rap music for them, so please refrain from doing that. Besides that, Gabi cries as soon as she's hungry. Dani's the quieter twin."

"Uh . . . and which twin is which exactly?" Hal asks us with a confused look on his face as he continues to look at the sleeping girls.

"Dani's the one dressed in purple while Gabi's the one dressed in light blue . . ." I tell him as I point to each twin.

"I see . . ." says Hal as he shakes his head. "I think it's time we make our leave. Are you two ready to go to D.C.?"

"'Manda, you take the girls and follow Hal to the bus. I'll go get our luggage and check us out of the hotel." Randy tells me with a smirk as he moves away from the stroller. I quickly take hold of the handles as Randy hands his duffle bag to Hal before jogging inside, heading straight for the elevators as he did.

"By the way Hal, did you get some improvements done to the bus?" I ask with an eyebrow raised as I turn to look at the bus. "It looks . . . different than usual."

"I did get it to a shop to get . . . upgraded," he tells me with a smirk as he starts moving forward. "I figured it wasn't suitable enough for twins, so I figured it was time for a change. C'mon, I'll give you a tour while Randy's inside."

"Alright . . ." I say with a smirk as I push the stroller forward, following our bus driver to our upgraded mobile home.
