Chapter 17- Piggy backs, graduation and love.
Olivia squinted as the morning light hit her eyes from where there was a crack in the curtains surrounding Sirius' bed in the boy's dormitory. Olivia groaned and rolled away from the light laying her head on Sirius' chest.
Sirius felt and heard Olivia moving and opened up his own eyes, looking down at her, smiling.
"Morning baby." Sirius smiled and kissed her head.
"Hmm... How much morning?" Olivia asked not moving her head from his chest, which made her reply muffled on top of sleepy.
"7:00 of morning." Sirius said running his hand up and down her back.
"No no no no! Way too early!" Olivia said waving her arms about in emphasis.
She went to turn over and fall back to sleep when a very awake and fully dressed Lily opened the curtains that surrounded them.
"Ahh good morning sunshines." Lily smiled brightly. Olivia looked at her best friend part envious of her obvious morning person character and part pissed off that she herself was still awake.
"Lily dearest have you not learnt your lesson of opening closed curtains?" Sirius asked with a smirk, Olivia giggled and Lily blushed furiously as she remembered pulling back the curtains to wake up Sirius and Olivia a few weeks ago, only to find Sirius on top of Olivia, both without clothes.
"I saw your shadows Black I could tell that there was no...None of that going on."
"How do you know? I could have been..."
"Shut up!" Lily blushed further and slapped her hands over her ears.
Olivia laughed and dragged herself out of bed and patted Lily's shoulder "Even after James De-virginized you, you're still so innocent." She cooed and pinched Lily's cheeks.
Lily slapped her hands away and despite everything found herself smiling as Olivia dragged her feet into the bathroom to get ready.
Lily moved over to James' bed where she had stayed the night. The girls had decided to spend their second to last night at Hogwarts together in the boy's dormitory and tonight they would sleep in their own dorm as it had started off five years ago.
James smiled up at her and rubbed his eyes "You're up early." He commented.
Lily rolled her eyes "It's 7:00am." James grabbed her waist and pulled her over him.
"Like I said, too early." He smiled ""Now if you kiss me, I might wake up a little."
Lily giggled and pretended to think about it and laughed when James growled, pulling the back of her neck down and kissed her.
"My eyes!" Alice giggled as she walked passed, covering up her eyes.
Frank swooped her up in his arms and ran around the room with her "Don't look baby!" He cried.
Lily laughed at how playful their group was on their graduation day. When in theory they should be acting like the grownups they were about to become that afternoon, they were behaving like five year olds. And it felt fantastic.
Sirius got out of bed and Olivia walked back in, finally showered, dressed and ready to face the day.
"I bet I could beat you in a piggy back race." Sirius grinned and lifted Olivia onto his back, who squealed and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Frank snorted and walked to one end of the room with Alice on his back, with Sirius following him.
"Well I want in on this." James said and picked up Lily onto his back and Remus copied with Amy, joining Frank and Sirius at the back of the room and they all stood, squished together.
"Umm guys..." Lily said wiggling uncomfortably "Little bit squished right now."
"Yeah if you wanna do it properly then you're gonna have to go somewhere bigger." Olivia pointed out.
The boys smirked and carried the girls out of the dormitory and common room, over the grounds and to the quidditch pitch stadium.
"Okay so one lap around the stadium, first one back to the first Gryffindor tower wins." James explained.
They all lined up and Olivia set up a magical timer to count down from ten. As it got closer the girls squealed in excitement and Olivia smacked Sirius ass "Come on horsey."
Sirius chuckled and boosted her up higher and ran when the timer buzzed.
The stadium filled up with excited screams and smack talk between the four couples.
Olivia held her hand out cheekily and muttered a spell so that a pile of mud appeared at James' feet rendering him unable to move.
James huffed "OLIVIA!" He shouted after her and then looked over his shoulder at Lily "Get them good baby."
Lily giggled and pointed her wand to where Sirius and Olivia were running, just overtaking Amy and Remus who were now covered in a green gloop solution.
She flicked her wand in their direction muttering "Aguamenti Maxima." And a heavy burst of water blast from her wand, soaking Sirius and Olivia who both gasped and the sensation of the freezing cold water on their skin.
James finally managed to get free of the mud and ran again, past Frank and Alice who were trying to stay balanced from where Amy had magically tied Frank's shoelaces together. Past Remus and Amy who were being weighed down by the glitter and sticky goo that had been fired by Alice in retribution.
As the first Gryffindor tower came into view they all pushed forward hard, desperate to win. Which resulted in all of them falling and landing in a pile over the finish line that Lily had marked before they started.
"WE WIN!" They all shouted at once and laughed.
"Okay so if everyone can get off me right now, so I don't suffocate, that would be fantastic." Olivia moaned from where she lay on Sirius who was unfortunate enough to be at the bottom of the pile.
"I concur, get off me and my girlfriend before we die." Sirius mumbled.
They all rolled off each other, gasping for air and laid on their backs in a line, looking up at the sky where the sun was still low in the sky,
"This is beautiful." Olivia smiled linking her fingers with Sirius'.
"I can't believe it's out last full day here." Amy sighed and rolled over laying her head on Remus' chest.
Everyone murmured their agreement and fell into a comfortable silence, thinking about everything that had happened over the past five years.
"We're all going to stay together once we leave right?" Lily asked nervously.
"Of course we are Lils. Besides I need your threes calm to balance out my crazy." Olivia giggled, the other girls joining in.
"True that." Amy smiled.
"We should probably get back so we can shower, since we're all hot and sweaty."
"I already told Sirius that there is nothing better than a guy with sweaty muscles." She winked at Sirius who tickled her ribs.
Lily blushed "Yeah you're right, it's hot on guys, but girls sweating, not so much." She pulled a face.
"Lily dear please, I don't sweat I sparkle." Olivia smiled.
"I disagree. I wouldn't mind seeing a girl with a light covering of sweat" He smiled "Especially if she was fixing a car and bending over, wearing short shorts and a low cut top..." He trailed off and everyone looked at him.
Olivia raised her eyebrows "Is this some secret fantasy of yours?" she asked.
"Maybe..."
Olivia grinned "Well I guess I need to learn how to fix a muggle car and get sweaty doing it."
Sirius groaned and closed his eyes "Now I have that image in my head I'll be distracted the whole day, if not the week."
Olivia smiled wickedly "Well if you want another image in your head think of a different way that you could get me hot and sweaty." She winked, kissing his jaw and Sirius' eyes darkened.
"Uhh seriously you guys are gross!" Lily said shaking her head and several reactions from the others followed.
Olivia rolled her eyes "We're simply in love."
Lily shook her head smiling "So am I, but I don't go talking about my secret fantasies when my friend are here to listen."
Olivia shrugged "You're seen me at my worst and at my best, nothing wrong with seeing me at my kinkiest." She giggled.
James looked up at his girlfriend "You have secret fantasies?" He asked intrigued.
Frank let out a wolf whistle and Lily blushed "Maybe, maybe not, if you're lucky you'll get to find out." She said cheekily and shy at the same time.
James looked at her, shocked at her answer and she giggled and stood up and started to run off. All the girls burst out laughing and followed Lily running away from their men which ended, again immaturely in a game of kiss chase.
Olivia looked in the full length mirror as she stood in her uniform for the last tie. She tilted her head to the side looking at her reflection and thought about everything that had happened since she had started Hogwarts. The Marauders had been founded, when Liam had attacked her, Sirius and herself finally admitting their love for each other, the both of them being taken by their parents. James and Lily, Frank and Alice, Amy and Remus. Even the bad parts made her smile because they had got through them together.
She looked at the door through the mirror when she heard the knock "Come in." She called.
Sirius opened the door and walking in smiling "Hey, you ready?" He asked and walked to her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and met her eyes in the mirror.
"What are you doing?" He asked kissing her neck.
"Just thinking about what we've been through together." She smiled at him.
" A hell of a lot." He whispered.
Olivia rubbed his hands that lay on her stomach "But we came through in the end."
"Yes we did, and now we can start our own lives together." He smiled.
Olivia turned in his arms and wrapped her own around his neck and kissed his cheek. "I love you." She said looking into his eyes.
"I love you baby, so much." He said and nuzzled her nose with his own.
Olivia linked her fingers with his and Sirius brought them to his lips kissing the promise ring. "I promise." He whispered.
"Ditto." She whispered back
He smiled and let his lips linger a little bit longer before he gently pulled her by the hand "Come on let's go graduate." He said and Olivia nodded.
"Let's go."
Lily sat in between James and Olivia. She leant into her boyfriend and he held their hands together on his lap.
Lily partly listened to what Dumbledore was saying to the graduating students but mostly she was looking at the row she was sitting on, which contained their group. She smiled as she thought about all they had done together and about the new things that would happen in their future, which was sure to be hilarious and filled with Marauder instructed pranks.
James leant down to her "You okay?" He whispered into her ear.
Lily nodded smiling and traced his face with her eyes memorising every inch of the face that she had fallen in love with. She couldn't believe the amount of love she felt for him, even though she had hated him for years.
She stopped and thought about it and realized that she had never really hated him, it had been an act that she herself had started to believe, in reality she had thought she wasn't good enough for him and he was asking her out as a joke to embarrass her if she ever said yes.
She looked up into his hazel eyes and kissed him gently "I love you James."
He closed his eyes and smiled "I love you too beautiful."
Lily smiled and rested her head on his shoulder listening out as Dumbledore started calling out the names of the graduating students.
They were called up in groups in alphabetical order. Olivia and Sirius went up in the same group and once on the stage set off fireworks from the edges.
Once all the diplomas had been given out all the students stood up laughing, crying and hugging. Emma and Richard came over along with Lily, Frank, Alice, Remus and Amy's parents. Sirius and Olivia stood with Emma and Richard and were hugged and kissed as though they were the Potters biological children, which to the Potters they were.
"I'm so proud of all three of you." Emma cried wiping tears off her cheeks as she held the three of them close to her, which was difficult since both boys were over six feet and towered over her, where as Olivia only just managed to match Emma's height.
"Thanks mum." James smiled and kissed her head.
"Right, tomorrow night when you get home, we're going to take you out for a lovely meal to celebrate." Emma smiled.
Olivia kissed her cheek "That sounds wonderful."
Sirius stood close to his family not believing that their Hogwarts days were over and they were leaving their safety into a world with a dark war happening. The thought made him swallow and as he looked around the hall at the smiling happy faces around him, and he wondered in his mind how many of them would survive or still be smiling and happy when this was over... if it even ended at all.
He looked down when he felt Emma stroke his cheek "Whatever you're thinking about that's darkening your mood, stop and enjoy yourself today." She smiled, knowing him well.
Sirius smiled and nodded, kissing her on the cheek and rejoined with everybody, holding Olivia close to him. He looked down at her, watching her smiled and laugh and though that no everything was back. He would get to live a life with this beautiful woman by his side, he would get to love and protect her as long as they got to live... no matter how short that may be.
Olivia grinned as James nodded at her and she climbed up onto the nearest table, which of course happened to be Gryffindor.
"Okay Ladies and Gentlemen, can I have your attention." She called getting the attention on her so people wouldn't notice the boys slip away.
"Okay, so as you know, me and my boys have always been the Marauders, I'm pretty sure we have contributed to every grey hair that any professor in this school has, particularly our favourite head of Gryffindor and deputy head mistress, Minnie!" She giggled gesturing to McGonagall, who for once didn't tell her off but actually laughed instead.
"So yeah like I said every bit of entertainment you guys have had is because if us and we don't want to leave without giving you something so amazing that we won't even have to be here because you will still be so entertained. So without further ado... The final prank."
She finished and the light went out in the hall, causing confusion, but suddenly was filled again with bright lights and loud music which reverberated off the walls of the great hall.
A whirring sounded beneath the floor and everyone looked down excited to see what the Marauders had planned for their grand finale. Suddenly the floor seemed to open up and huge fans sat under the safety of metal gates, they turned on and everyone standing on the floor was lifted off their feet and began blowing around the room.
Screams of happiness and laughter sounded all around the hall. Olivia smiled at their handy work and pointed her wand at the high ceiling which turned it into what resembled the floor of a bouncy castle, so when people hit the top they could bounce off.
She was joined again by the boys and they admired the fun they had caused and looked mischievously at each other.
"Shall we?" Frank asked gesturing to the fun in front of them.
Olivia giggled and held onto Sirius' hand as they jumped off the table and were blown upwards by the fans.
Each boy found their girl and held them close as they flipped and spun. The marauders aimed their wands simultaneously at the wall on the far left of the hall where the words Moony, Padfoot, Prongs, Shadow and Stripes were engraved permanently, so that Hogwarts would always remember the marauders.
Hogwarts grounds filled with the sounds of laughter and happiness as the night drew on. The marauders had built a controlled bonfire by the black lake, where they were all now celebrating their last night at Hogwarts.
"Oh my god Olivia do you remember when you stole those broomsticks in first year and you forced Alice to help you decorate the Slytherin quidditch tower in everything Gryffindor!" Lily laughed. They had taken to going over all of their favourite memories.
Alice looked over at Frank knowing something was wrong, he'd been silent throughout the whole campfire.
"Baby? Are you okay?" She asked and ran her hand down his stubble covered cheek.
Frank looked down at her and she saw a nervous glint in his eyes, which made her all the more worried.
"Frank?" She said again and this time caught the attention of the rest of their group.
"I..." Frank started then cut off and sighed.
"You alright mate?" Remus asked and Frank nodded and suddenly stood up and held Alice's hand to pull her up with him.
Frank cupped her face in his hands and leant down and forward gently kissing her, with everyone watching silently.
"Marry me." Frank whispered against her lips as they pulled back from the kiss.
Alice's eyes widened as she looked at him "W-what?" She stammered.
Frank lowered himself down to one knee and held her hand, smiling shyly up at her.
"I couldn't think of how to do this, I know whatever I do will never be good enough because you are perfect and nothing I can do will show you how much you mean to me and how much I love you." Alice, Amy and Lily had tears on rolling down their faces and Olivia looked on with her eyes wide and her hand over her mouth.
"So I'm doing it here and now, in front of our closest friends, so they and you can know just how much I love you and how much I want you to be by my side, as my wife, for the rest of my life." SO Alice Bates... Will you marry me?"
Alice bit her lip smiling with tears pouring from her eyes "Yes... a thousand times yes." She breathed out.
Frank took out a beautiful silver band with a single rose shaped diamond in the centre and slipped it on her finger, kissing it once it was in place.
Alice flung herself into his arms, kissing him like her life depended on it.
The girls all squealed and jumped up wrapping Alice in smothering hugs. While the guys al shook Frank's hand giving him manly back slaps and whistles.
"Oh god that was so romantic!" Amy squealed admiring Alice's ring.
Olivia smiled "I can't believe you're getting married! I thought it would be Lily and James first." She said and Lily blushed.
"But we've been together the shortest time." She said quietly so the guys didn't hear.
"So? You're the couple that had a thing-whether you care to admit it or not- for each other for years. It was inevitable that you two would end up together Lils, so when you said yes to James you were just catching up on all those pent up emotions." Amy explained "The same with Sirius and Olivia."
"Yeah and looked at us now, the hottest couple out of all of us." Olivia winked at them.
"Oh hardly, me and Frank just got engaged, we are deffo the hottest couple."
"Nope me and James, like you said all that pent up emotion makes us the hottest."
"Me and Remus win by far, I mean just look at us."
The girls all playfully glared at each other and stomped over to their men, wrapping their arms around them and then looked at each other.
"No we're definitely the hottest." Olivia nodded to herself pulling Sirius; head close to hers and conjures a mirror in front of them, to check themselves out.
"Agreed." Sirius put in even though he had no idea what their conversation was about.
Lily grabbed two marshmallows from the side and threw them at Sirius and Olivia hitting them both in the head.
"Hey!" They both exclaimed.
Lily laughed and out the corner of her eye saw James wave his wands and created a maze with four forts, hidden within. He grabbed Lily's arm and an armful of marshmallows and ran into the maze shouting behind him "Marshmallow fight... Couples against couples!" he said before disappearing into the maze with Lily.
The other couples all smirked and rushed to get their own ammo.
Sirius and Olivia smirked "Game on!"
