Chapter 65: Red & Silver
Randy's POV; WrestleMania Day
"Good morning baby!" I hear my mate say as I feel her body come on top of mine. I let out a small groan as I feel Amanda's bare legs slide along my own as they straddle my waist. Her hands feel nice as they slide along my abs until they reached the base of my neck. I can feel her blue-eyed gaze looking down on me intently, waiting for me to open my eyes already. "Are you even going to try to wake up today?"
"I would, but I'm too busy enjoying the feel of you straddling my body to try to . . ." I say with a chuckle as I feel her hands slide onto my neck. "I'll be happy to open my eyes for you if you give me some incentive for doing so. . ."
"An incentive?" I hear her ask as I feel her minty breath tickling my face. Something tells me she's been up a lot longer than I previously thought. "What kind of incentive would get you to wake up hmm?"
"A simple good morning kiss will do . . ." I say with a chuckle as I let my hands slide onto her smooth legs. I hear her let out a small chuckle before I feel her lips on mine. The kiss is feather-soft and ends up ending as quickly as it begun, which does kinda irk me a little. ". . . Really baby. That was barely a kiss. That was not even a peck."
"Sorry, but I have a feeling that as soon as I try to push the kiss any further, you're going to take advantage and pin me to the bed or something . . ." she tells me knowingly. I inwardly roll my eyes at her, but even I knew that there was some truth to her words. "C'mon, we both know I'm right."
"Yeah, you're right . . ." I tell her guiltily as I slowly open my eyes to see that she was already dressed for the day in her jeans skirt and bejeweled black top. ". . . Well now, you're dressed early."
"I woke up early, simple as that. Plus, I let you sleep in later than you usually would on a pay-per-view day . . ." she tells me with a smirk as she crosses her arms. "Besides, I'm not going to wear this outfit for the whole day. I'm going to change into something different for when I have to escort you down to the ring to face Rollins today."
"Something sexy I hope . . ." I say with a chuckle as I take one of her hands in my own.
"Of course, and it will also be something red. You know, to match with the red wrestling trunks you'll be wearing this afternoon," she tells me with a sly smirk as she slowly crawls off me and off the bed. "Sandra dropped them off this morning while you were still sleeping."
"Am I really supposed to wear them this afternoon?" I say with a small scowl on my face as she walks over to a plastic bag that was lying on my suitcase.
"C'mon Randy, when it comes to WrestleMania, you tend to wear trunks sometimes that match with the color scheme of that that year's event. The color scheme is mainly red and silver this year, so you're expected to wear red and silver themed trunks this year . . ." she tells me as she takes the bright crimson red and silver piece of clothing out from the bag. "Besides, it's not that bad Ran. Kinda reminds me of the type of trunks you wore in your early Legend Killer days. The bright blue ones you wore once for a Royal Rumble were always a personal favorite of mine."
"Good to know 'Manda . . ." I say with a shake of my head as I slowly sit up. "And it's good to know that my butt is going to look like it's on fire for the whole match too."
"C'mon . . . it won't be that bad. It's just for one day anyway . . ." she tells me with a shake of her head, her hair now back in its curly form. "Unlike the elbow pads you recently bought, which I have a feeling are going to stick around for the long run right?"
"Yep; the tattoos on my elbows wear out faster than any of the tattoos on my body. Wrestling in the ring week to week doesn't help them last if they remain uncovered . . ." I tell her as I sneak a quick look at my duffel bag, which was where I stored my elbow pads the night before. "I'm just taking preventive measures for the sake of my body ink, that's all."
"Plus the more ink that lasts, the less you have to pay your tattoo artist for touchups right?" she asks with a smirk as she throws my new trunks onto my lap.
"Babe, you know me so well . . ." I tell her with a shake of my head as I pick up my trunks in hand. "What time is it?"
"It's five minutes to ten. We're going to have to leave soon. Traffic toward the arena is going to be a nightmare, especially since the show is supposed to start earlier this year thanks to West Coast timing and all that time zone stuff . . ." she tells me as she checks her watch. "I'm all ready to go. Nate's all ready to go and is downstairs checking us out at the main desk. I got the twins fed and all ready to go. . ."
"So now you all are waiting on me right?" I ask 'Manda as she quickly shakes her head. "Alright, I already packed up all my stuff last night after we came back from the Hall of Fame ceremony. Just give me twenty minutes to get ready and then we can go okay?"
"I'll give you a kiss if you can get ready in fifteen minutes . . ." she bargains with me as I grab the clothes I already laid out for the day from the nearby chair before jogging to the bathroom. 'Manda stops me before I step inside to kiss me on the cheek, but I turn my head just in time to receive the kiss on my lips instead. ". . . That kiss didn't count in the deal you know."
"Oh I know . . . And trust me, I'm determined to get that kiss," I tell her with a smirk before stepping into the bathroom. I close the door behind me before stripping off my briefs and stepping into the shower. I only spend a good five to six minutes in the cold shower, lathering and rinsing myself off before stepping out and drying myself off. I quickly brush my teeth and change into my t-shirt and jeans before stepping out of the bathroom to see Amanda looking at me from beside the twins' stroller. All our luggage and stuff was apparently moved into the next room while I was in the other room. "So, did I earn that kiss?"
"Well, come over here and find out . . ." she tells me as she beckons me forward with a simple movement of her finger. Once I was only a mere foot away from her, she grabs my shirt and pulls me the rest of the way to her lips. We continue our little back-and-forth action until we finally pull away at the sounds of our girls' voices, as if they were calling for us to stop kissing in front of them. "Was that kiss good enough for you Mr. Viper?"
"It definitely was . . ." I say with a smirk as I turn to look into the stroller, my eyes now going wide eyed as I noticed the little dresses Dani and Gabi were wearing. "Where in the world did they get those cute little outfits?"
"You like them?" Amanda asks me with grin on her face as I feel her hand on my shoulder. I didn't pay it no mind as I continued to stare at my smiling girls in awe. Dani and Gabi were wearing matching purple and gray dresses with the RKO acronym in gothic script right at the front and matching purple and gray headbands with the same acronym on the side. "I asked Sandra to sew them up for the girls just for the day, and she was more than happy to oblige. Apparently, she has a love for making baby clothes."
"And you never told me?" I ask with a smirk on my face as I turned to her. "You kept this cute little secret from me?"
"I wanted it to be a surprise. Now you know Dani and Gabi are definitely in your corner for your match today hon." Amanda tells me with a smile as Dani lets out a small gurgling noise.
"And what about you babe?" I ask with a chuckle as I wrapped an arm around her waist. "You're not wearing anything that suggests that you're in my corner 'Manda."
"Of course I'm wearing something that suggests that I'm in your corner Ran . . . I'm wearing the ultimate one," she tells me as she lifts her hand up to show me her engagement ring. "I'm wearing this aren't I?"
"Damn straight you are . . ." I say with a fang-bearing grin as I quickly remember what I just said. "Sorry, I cursed in front of the girls, again."
"I'll let you off with a warning this time around . . ." 'Manda tells me with a smirk as she takes hold of the stroller handles. "Just grab your sneakers and your phone and let's go. The faster we leave, the faster we get to the arena."
"Yes honey . . ." I say with a playful role of my eyes as I grab my sneakers. I quickly slip them on and grab my phone and wallet before joining 'Manda by the door. I grab hold of our luggage before following the rest of my family out of the suite and down the hallway. It didn't take us long to take the elevator down to the lobby to meet up with Nate, who was standing right by the entrance with his bags, a small smirk showing up on his face as we reached him. "Where're Dad and Calypso?"
"They left just a few minutes ago to get to the arena. They'll meet us there, or in the middle of a traffic jam on the highway if the California traffic proves to be that terrible today," says my brother as he does a small shrug. "California traffic has gained a reputation for being unruly at best, especially on the highways."
"Hopefully, the traffic isn't that bad today . . ." Amanda says with a shake of her head. "Besides, we can't really afford to get to the arena late. Randy's match against Rollins is the second one of the afternoon after all."
"Wait? My match is second?" I ask as I look at her in mild shock.
"Yep; it's after the Intercontinental Championship ladder match and before Hunter's match with Sting," she tells me with a smirk as we walk out of the hotel. "Plus, since this year's WrestleMania is being hosted in an outdoor stadium, expect to sweat like a pig in this 80 degree heat today Randy . . . I still don't get how we vampires can still sweat when we do something strenuous in a short amount of time, but it's possible . . ."
"Great, now I definitely know I got to take a shower right before we leave for San Diego," I say as we spot our bus waiting for us right down the block. "Anything else you want to warn me about before I step out into the ring today 'Manda?"
"Well, you have to do an interview right after your match, but after that, you're good for the night . . ." she tells me with a smirk as we quickly make our way to the bus.
"I'm going to be sweating like a pig, and I have to do an interview right after my match . . . Things just get even better . . ." I say as I roll my head back in slight exasperation as we finally reach our bus. We quickly board and get everything settled before Hal starts driving, us and Nate sitting around the table while the twins stayed snug in their stroller right next to us.
"You know what I just realized?" asks Nate as he juggles the blood bag he got from the fridge in his hands. "I just realized that you never taken your lady love here out to hunt for actual human blood, and when I say actual human blood, I mean fresh from the vein human blood."
"Huh . . . you're actually right Nate," I mumble with a shake of my head as I turn to look at my mate, who's now looking very sheepish at the prospect. "'Manda's never been taken on a hunt for human blood, but we don't need to do that until you're ready for it baby. You have my word."
"Thanks Randy . . ." she tells me as she rests her head on my shoulder. "I've gotten used to feeding off of animals, I've been used to drinking from blood bags for a while now, but when it comes to actually biting into an actual human, I'm . . . not used to the prospect just yet."
"That's understandable . . . I never learned how to feed from humans till I was 17," says Nate as he shrugs. "It wasn't because I wasn't used to the idea or I wasn't ready for it. I just acted so irresponsible at the time that mom and dad denied me my lesson till I was mature enough for it."
"Yeah, we all know how you were like during your teenage years . . ." Amanda shoots him a smirk as I try to hold back a chuckle. "Hopefully Dani and Gabi don't act like you when they're teenagers."
"I'm not that much of a bad influence!" Nate whines as he fights back the accusation. "They could at least act like me academically. I had quite the good grades in high school. Unlike Randy, who barely graduated due to his petty math grade!"
"Did you have to bring that up again?" I grumble as I shoot him a narrowed eyed look. "You know what? Never mind. After I deal with Rollins, you're next!"
"I'll be waiting dear brother . . ." says Nate as he shoots me a wicked glare.
"I guess the Viper vs. Mr. MMA Round 2 will be a reality after all . . ." Amanda mumbles with a smirk on her face. "I better ready the tickets."
Hal lets out a small chuckle as Nate and I both turn to the smirking Anaconda, who only shakes her head in response.
"C'mon, you guys both walked into that one." she tells us in her defense. Unfortunately for Nate and myself, she did have a point.
Normal POV; 90 minutes later
"You can definitely smell the excitement of WrestleMania in in the air," said Nate as he and his small group walked through the backstage area of Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium toward Randy's dressing room.
"Nothing can beat the buzz of the biggest show of the year," said Randy as he shook his head, his right hand carrying his duffel bag while he kept his other arm around his mate's waist. "There's definitely nothing like it."
"You ready to beat the stuffing out of Seth tonight bro?" Nate asked his older brother as the group turned a corner, stopping when they had finally reached Orton's locker room "I'm expecting a win out of you tonight, big bro. You don't want Dani and Gabi to see you lose at their first WrestleMania now do ya?"
"Like I would ever let that happened . . ." said Randy as Nate opened the locker room door. "I plan on wining tonight. Seth may have J&J Security in his corner tonight, but I'm not going to let them get in my way. I plan to put that multi-colored hair dumbass right into the mat with my RKO. There's no doubt about that."
"Babe . . . you cursed again . . ." said 'Manda a she shot him a disapproving look before pushing the stroller into the room.
"Sorry . . ." said the Viper as he followed after his mate while his brother walked in right behind him. "I get so caught up in the moment sometimes that I forget to watch my mouth."
"Yeah; it's especially prevalent when you get angry . . ." said Nate as he leaned against the door. "I remember a particular moment from our past that highlights what you just said Ran. Remember when you cursed in front of grandma and grandpa after you found a spider living in your bed when we stayed with them while mom and dad were on the road?"
"Oh yeah . . . I remember that," Randy mumbled as he put his duffle bag onto the couch next to his seated mate before opening it up and grabbing what he needed for the day. "I was 10 and cursed so much like a sailor that one time that grandma literally made me wash out my mouth with a bar of soap for a good 20 minutes. . . I had lavender breath for the rest of that day."
"Well, if you weren't so scared of spiders, that wouldn't have happened to you in the first place," said Amanda as she unbuckled Dani from her seat. Gabi had already fallen asleep back when they were on the bus. "Dani, I'll be blunt with you. Both your father and your uncle have an irrational fear of spiders. Please don't develop the same fear as them."
"That's actually a pretty rational thing to say, I go to admit," said Nate as Randy nodded his head in agreement before walking into the adjacent bathroom in order to get changed. "I wouldn't wish arachnophobia on anyone."
"I'm sure you and your brother will get over your fear of spiders someday," said Amanda as a knocking sound came from the door. "Until then, you guys will just love in fear; avoiding all things spider related and having me kill the little critters whenever one of them shows up."
"You are such a noble person . . ." said Nate as he let a mock reassuring look come across his face as he opened the door to reveal Seth Rollins and J&J Security right behind it with smirks on their faces. "Seth, J&J, what are you doing here?"
"C'mon . . . can's a wrestler say a quick hello to his WrestleMania opponent before he beats the crap out of him in the ring?" Seth asked with a sinister smirk on his face as J&J let out small snickers behind him.
"Considering we are talking about you after all," said Nate as he crossed his arms. "That idea is highly unlikely for someone like you. I bet you're here to say a lot more than a hello."
"I see there are some brains that exist in the Orton family after all . . ." said Seth as he shook his head. "Where's your brother?"
"Getting dressed . . ." said Nate as he narrowed his eyes at the bearded man. "Can I take a message?"
"Just tell him I'll see him in the ring, and he better prepare for the ass-whooping of a lifetime . . ." said Seth as he let out a small chuckle before walking away, quickly followed by his two lackeys in tow. Randy chose that moment to walk out of the bathroom dressed in his ring gear sans boots, his eyes looking at the open doorway, where his brother was looking out into the hallway with a narrowed eyed look on his face.
"You heard that, right babe?" Amanda asked her mate as he sat down next to her to put on his boots.
"Every single word of it . . ." grumbled the Viper as he stuffed his feet into his boots and quickly started tying up his laces. "I'm going to make sure I deal Seth two RKOs today: one for thinking he can beat me, and the other for cursing in front of the girls."
"And the protective serpentine father has spoken!" said Nate as he turned to face the snake couple. "I'll see you guys a little later. I'm going to look for Dad and Calypso."
"Look for Monica," suggested Amanda as she passed Dani onto her father once he had finished tying up his boots. "They're either with her, or talking to some of the other Legends that decided to visit WrestleMania this year."
"Thanks for the suggestion . . ." said Nate as he jogged out the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click. Amanda watched as Randy began mumbling in a babyish voice as Dani looked at him with a smile as she mimicked some of the sounds that he was making. The Viper responded with a smile of his own, and his second child let out a small yelp in joy before continuing with her babbling.
"I can't believe Dani and Gabi are almost six months in a few more weeks . . ." said Amanda as she picked up her daughter's hand with only two of her fingers. "It's almost been half a year since they were born."
"Yeah . . ." said Randy as Amanda rested her head on his shoulder. "Babe, what kind of baby milestones are we supposed to watch out for now that our babies are turning six months soon?"
"Well, my mom, and the research I did thanks to a few baby nurturing websites, told me that around this time, babies at Dani and Gabi's age are starting to sit up without our help, roll onto their tummies and back, and start to bounce when we hold them . . . They're also going to have a tendency to pull things toward them."
"So, they're going to be quite the curious little duo huh?" said the Viper as Gabi started crying from her seat in the stroller.
"That's right . . . In other words, if they're going to get very curious on us, we're probably going to have to baby-proof everything they may come into contact with," said Amanda as she quickly rescued Gabi from the stroller's clutches. Gabi let out a few babbles of her own in gratitude as her mother held her in her arms. "Don't want you to do anything to harm yourselves girls . . . "
"You can do that when you're older and facing each other in the ring for the Divas Championship . . ." Randy added as Amanda shot him a surprised glare. "What? It's possible that they want to continue the family trade. They're technically fourth generation Orton girls after all."
"I thought you still disliked the idea of thinking about your daughters when they were older, especially in their teenage years . . ." said Amanda as she shot him an incredulous look.
"I'm trying to get used to the idea . . . I realized that if I thought about them growing up as wrestlers, it makes thinking about their future that much easier for me." the Viper admitted as a sheepish look came across his face.
"If that works for you . . ." said Amanda as she let out a small chuckle. "Then I guess you just got to work with it."
Amanda's POV; ten minutes before Randy's match
"You ready to make another WrestleMania moment?" I say with a smirk on my face as we walk toward the gorilla position.
"Babe, this is what I was born to do," Randy tells me confidently as he wraps his arm around my waist. "Don't worry about getting baby oil over your dress baby. The brand I'm wearing doesn't realty come off unless you wash it off."
"Good to know . . ." I say with a chuckle as I look down at what I was wearing. I chose to wear something that matched with the red and silver trunks Randy was clad in: A red and silver crop top that stopped right before my abs and black skinny jeans with strappy black wedge heels that put me right at Randy's height. I had changed just before we dropped the twins off with Mom and Bob at craft services. Monica was too busy tending to Wade, who was in a not-so-good mood after dropping his Intercontinental title to Daniel mere minutes ago.
We turn a corner to see Rollins and J&J Security standing before the gorilla position, waiting for their cue to walk out and down the ramp. As soon as the skin-walker and Dumb & Dumber spot us, sinister smirks start showing up on their faces.
"Well now, you decided to show your face after all Randy," says Seth as he lets out a small chuckle. "What's with the change of heart Orton?"
"I had no change of heart," Randy tells him simply as he narrows his eyes. "I'm dead set on beating you out there today. J&J Security can't help you out there."
"We'll see about that . . ." says Seth as his music begins to play. "Let's go boys . . . I got a match to win."
"Is it just me, or is Seth and J&J the official male version of the mean girls' stereotype you see in high school movies?" I whisper with a shake of my head as we watch as the three climb the small set of stairs that led to the exit.
"Yep; they're just a lot uglier . . ." he tells me with a smirk as he picks up my chin. "So baby, you ready for another walk down that ramp?"
"Hell yes . . ." I say with a smirk as I kiss him on the lips. "Are you ready?"
"Definitely . . ." Randy tells me as his music begins to play. "Let's go baby. I got another match to win."
I let out a small chuckle before he lets me go. With one last look to the other, we climb up the stairs, one behind the other, before going through the curtain and revealing ourselves to the WWE Universe. It was indeed show time once again.
