Chapter 69: Unwelcome Birthday Surprise

Normal POV; Late night on March 31

"Babe, I'm back from my meeting with Hunter and Steph!" called the Viper as he stepped into the suite to see that the lights were already out in the main room. Nate's snoring easily echoed out to him from his room, but Randy bypassed it to get to the other room at the other side of the suite. He slowly opened the door and peered inside to see that the room was illuminated thanks to one of the bedside lamps. The Viper's stare easily found his soulmate, a small smile slowly coming across his face as he saw her standing right next to their daughters' crib. "I thought you had gone to sleep already."

"Well, I guess you thought wrong now didn't you?" 'Manda asked him back as she watched him approach. "Besides, I told you before you left that I would wait for you to come back before going to sleep. Don't you remember me saying that?"

"I guess it slipped my mind . . ." Randy told her simply as he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"How was your meeting with Hunter and Steph anyway?" Amanda asked him with a smirk on her face as the two looked down adoringly at their sleeping daughters. "You didn't get in trouble did you?"

"Nope, we were just talking about my status in the main storyline and how it will progress in the coming future," Randy replied as he trailed kisses along her bare shoulder. "They were throwing some ideas here and there, but one thing is for certain. I'm still in the World title picture for these next few weeks."

"Now that's good to know . . ." said Amanda as she turned around in his grip so that they were now face to face. "Besides, it wouldn't be good for your mood if you found out you were being taken out of the championship hunt the night before your 35th birthday right?"

"I would be in a dark place if that was the case, but since the meeting didn't result in that, my mood remains positively intact . . ." said the Viper as he pecked her on her forehead. ". . . Unless you did go ahead and plan a big party for me like you did last year."

"I told you that I wasn't planning a big party for you this year, like you wanted, and I have kept my word. You are not getting a big party from me, and that is final," said Amanda as she jabbed him in the chest with her finger. "Your brother and my sister on the other hand . . . . Well, they're a whole different story."

"You're definitely right on that one," Randy told her sheepishly as she broke free from his grip. "They could have even recruited our friends in their schemes and planned a party that may even top last year's. Who knows what they could have possibly thought of?"

"I guess you'll just have to smirk and bear it then . . ." said Amanda as she began to prepare the bed for the night. Randy just let out a small sigh as he went into the bathroom. After stripping off his clothes and brushing his teeth, he reemerged minutes later dressed only in his boxers. "Must you always come to bed dressed in just your boxers Ran?"

"No . . ." Randy told her bluntly as he crawled into bed right after her. "I don't just wear boxers to bed babe. I also come to bed either dressed in a pair of pajama bottoms, a pair of briefs, or nothing at all. Boxers just happen to be the go-to piece of clothing for me."

"Uh huh . . ." said Amanda as she shook her head. "Considering I have been sharing a bed with you for over a year now, I see your point."

"Which makes your accusation of me wearing just boxers to bed invalid . . ." said the Viper as he propped himself up with his arm. "In other words, I win this round."

"When did this become a competition in the first place?" Amanda asked him with an eyebrow raised as Randy wrapped his other arm around her waist.

"Since now," Randy told her with a shrug before kissing her on her forehead. "Goodnight 'Manda."

"Goodnight birthday boy." said Amanda as she returned his kiss with one to his awaiting lips. Randy eagerly returned it, locking lips with his bride-to-be as he rolled them over so that she was on top of him. He kept his arm securely wrapped around her waist, keeping their bodies close together as Amanda began to trail kisses down his jaw and neck, gaining a small moan from him in return.

"Remember 'Manda, we're sharing the room with our daughters . . ." Randy said in a kidding tone as his mate continued with her ministrations. "We wouldn't want to abruptly wake them up while having our fun now right?"

"No, we wouldn't . . ." 'Manda said solemnly as she moved her head from his neck so that she could look him in the eye. "Besides, I figured you wouldn't mind it if I teased you just a little bit before your birthday."

"As long as I get some payback tomorrow, I'm fine with it," said the Viper as one of the twins abruptly began to cry out from the crib. "Oh come on now! I didn't think we were that loud."

"I don't think we're the reason that one of our girls are crying Ran," said Amanda as she crawled off her beau's body and off the bed. She walked over to the crib and looked in to see that while Dani remained completely asleep, Gabi was wailing out in displeasure. Amanda put two and two together when she heard Gabi's stomach start to rumble. "I see what's wrong. . . Gabi's just hungry again."

"You want me to prepare a bottle for her?" asked Randy as he quickly left the bed, just as Amanda walked over to him with the hungry baby in her arms. "I can do it quick if you want."

"Nah . . . I'll just breastfeed her this time around," said Amanda as she handed the disgruntled baby over to him before crawling onto the bed. Once she got herself settled against the bed's headboard, Randy handed Gabi back to her. The baby finally settled down once she was finally feeding, her mouth latching on to her mother's left breast as soon as she was close enough to it. "Hopefully she stays asleep for the rest of the night after this . . ."

"I hope so too . . ." said the Viper as he crawled back into bed with them and wrapped an arm around her waist. "I don't want my bride-to-be to be tired during my birthday. I have a bunch of plans for you come tomorrow."

"Oh . . . I'm scared," said Amanda as she did a small roll of her eyes, her tone taking on its familiar sarcastic edge. "What do you have planned for me tomorrow that'll require me to have a good night's sleep anyway?"

"Like you don't know . . ." said the Viper as he kissed her on the side of her head. "I plan to spend the whole day with you. I want to spend some quality time with you, mind, body, and spirit."

"Especially the body?" asked Amanda as she checked on Gabi, who was still suckling on her boob, before turning to Randy, who was shooting her a childish smirk in response. "Of course you want to spend quality time with my body."

"C'mon, I bet you're happy about the idea of both of us reconnecting for a while," said the Viper as he pecked her neck a couple of times.

"Alright, you got me there . . ." said Amanda as she finally moved Gabi off her breast before moving her to her shoulder. "Unlike you, I'm just better at hiding my horny side."

"Okay, you got me there on that one," said Randy as he watched as his mate burped their youngest daughter. Once Gabi let out a pretty loud one, Amanda handed their now sleepy daughter off to him. Randy then brought her over to the crib and placed her next to her sister, the child's eyes finally closing shut as her head began to move to the left. A small smile appeared across the Viper's face as he watched his little girl drift off to sleep, and it remained there as he walked back over to the bed. Once he got his knees on the mattress, he grabbed Amanda by the ankle and pulled her down; making the Anaconda's body lay out fully across the mattress top. The Viper quickly crawled on top of her and secured her arms at her sides, gaining a disbelieving look from his mate as he lay on top of her.

"Baby, before we go to sleep tonight, let me just make this one thing clear to you," said the Viper as he locked eyes with her. "You will definitely need to have a lot of rest for tomorrow, because I will have my way with you, one way or another, and that's a promise."

"Well then, prepare to work for it because even though tomorrow is your birthday, I don't plan on making things easy for you." said Amanda as she shook her head.

"I expected you to say that," said the Viper in a serious tone of voice. He then took Amanda off guard by planting a hard kiss to her prone lips before moving off her to get to his side of the bed. "Good night 'Manda!"

"Good night . . ." she replied rather shakily as she turned to face his back, her thoughts already looking ahead to tomorrow and what Randy could possibly have in store for her then. As she turned off the lamp, she never noticed the Viper looking at her from the corner of his eye with a smirk on his face, his thoughts also going to what he had in store for his fiancée as his 35th birthday was mere minutes away.

The next day

"Hmm . . ." groaned the Viper as his eyes slowly opened up to see the sunlight that was pouring in through the window. When he realized that it was now morning, a small smile appeared on his face as he turned to face Amanda. He let out a small chuckle as he observed the Diva, her face looking serious as she looked at the screen on her laptop while writing something down in the notebook beside her. "What are you doing baby?"

"Our wedding is becoming quite the family affair," said Amanda as she kept her eyes on the screen. "Some of my relatives have been emailing me their input and ideas for the whole soiree."

"Have they given you any good ideas yet?" asked Randy as he slowly sat up.

"I am considering a couple of them," said Amanda as she shook her head. "But at the end of the day, the wedding will be purely my vision and that's final. I'm welcome to any and all ideas for it, but I make the final decisions and that's it."

"I thought I was going to have some input in the wedding details too . . . It's my wedding to you know?" Randy said with a playful pout on his face as he wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Oh I know . . ." said Amanda as she pecked him on the cheek. "The thing is though . . . Do you really want me to bog you down with the hard and tiring task of figuring out the wedding details when you can do much more fun things like wrestling and traveling with your family? Be honest, do you really want me to get on your case with so many details that could basically drive any sane man insane? Do you really want me to do that to that pretty voice-infested head of yours?"

"Uh . . ." mumbled the Viper as he looked at his mate's slightly exasperated face. "You know what . . . You're right. I don't need to be bogged down with the wedding details. I can just let you handle the majority of the work. I'll just stick to the honeymoon planning."

"That's my Viper . . . So, what do you want to do first today," said Amanda as she pecked him on the lips. When she heard something close to her slam shut, she turned to see that her laptop was closed, Randy's hand resting right on top of it. "I guess whatever you want to do first doesn't involve my laptop."

"No, it doesn't . . ." said Randy as he snuck a look at the crib to see that it wasn't in the room with them anymore. "Uh, where are Dani, Gabi, and their crib?"

"I asked Nate to watch over his nieces for the next few hours . . ." Amanda answered him as she put her laptop and her notebook onto the bedside dresser. "That should give us plenty of time to have our little fun this morning."

"Uh . . . How long have you had this in mind now?" Randy asked her with a smirk as she quickly straddled his waist.

"A while now . . ." said Amanda as she rested her hands on either side of his neck. "So, are we going to celebrate your birthday or not?"

The Viper looked at her with a big smirk on his face before rolling them around so that she was now laying on the mattress while he was on top of her.

"We so are . . ." said Randy, a mischievous smirk coming across his face as his thoughts turned lustful.

Amanda's POV; a couple of hours later

"So baby, how are you enjoying your birthday so far?" I whisper in my mate's ear in my sexiest voice possible I playfully draw circles around his bare chest. Randy lets out a small chuckle as his chest continues to go up and down as he catches his breath, all part of the aftermath of us celebrating his birthday the way he wanted to.

"Oh, I'm enjoying it alright . . ." Randy tells me with his signature smirk on his face as he turns to face me. "I'm enjoying it quite a lot . . . Anyway, ready to go another round baby?"

"Another round?" I ask with a smirk on my face. "Don't you think you've had enough for this morning, you greedy, sex-wanting fool?"

"Hey, it's my birthday. I can be as greedy and sex-wanting as I want to be today," he tells me for a rebuttal as he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him so that our chests were now touching. "And right now, I'm in the mood for another round with you, the woman I love."

"Of course you are . . ." I say as the sounds of someone knocking at our suite's door gets my attention. "Now who in the world could that be?"

"I don't know . . . Let's just let Nate get it . . ." Randy tells me as I feel his hand start to rub along my ass. "He's still in the suite with us right?"

"Uh no . . ." I tell him as I shake my head. "Nate took our girls to go visit Monica and Wade about an hour ago. He yelled this to us, but you weren't paying attention because you were more focused on getting some release than anything else."

"What can I say? I tend to get quite in the zone when I'm making love to you," he tells me sincerely, just as another round of knocking hits our eardrums. "Unfortunately, I have a feeling whoever's at the door will not leave until someone answers it."

"I'll go answer it then . . ." I say as I reach down to get my clothes, but Randy's hand on my wrist stops me before I can move any further. ". . . Or not."

"I'll handle this one . . ." Randy tells me with a chuckle as he pecks me on the lips. "Who knows? It could actually keep my mind off of having you in the sheets again for another round."

"Yeah, I doubt that . . ." I say with a chuckle as I shake my head. He just shoots me a smirk in return before putting on his boxers and an old t-shirt. "Don't take too long."

"I'll try not to," he tells me simply as he gives me one more peck to the forehead before walking out the room. "I'm coming, I'm coming."

I listen to his footsteps as they padded along the tiled floor to get to the door, his voice mumbling something incoherently as I hear the lock click open and the door swing free from its hinges. I expected Randy to quickly turn whoever was at the door away so he could get back to me as soon as possible, but the sound of Randy letting out a few curse words in disbelief took me off guard a little.

"Randy?" I call out as I quickly grab my nightgown from off the floor and put it on. "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah Ran," I hear a feminine voice call out from somewhere at the front of the suite. "Is there something wrong?"

"Randy?" I ask as I get off the bed and walk over to the door. "Who's that?"

"C'mon Ran. You never told her about me?" says the voice as she lets out a small chuckle. "I figured you would have at least mentioned my name to your fiancée. You do not talk about your military past with others do you?"

"Considering you were there during that year, I think you could at least try to understand why I never talk about my military days." Randy tells the voice, his voice sounding strained as he kept his anger in check. That's when I finally put two and two together.

"The person at the door . . . That's Rochelle, isn't it?" I ask as I finally step out of our bedroom to see the petite woman smiling up at my man, her red hair falling wildly past her shoulders as Randy looked like he could snap any second.

"Ah . . . so you have told her about me," says the redhead as she turns to look at my soon-to-be husband. "I didn't know you had it in you Ran. I figured you didn't tell your fiancée about me because you wanted to protect her from me or something; like I'm such a bad person . . . Anyway, now that we got that settled. Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name's Rochelle. I'm an old friend of Randy's."

She starts to move toward me, her hand outstretched like she was planning to shake my hand, but Randy instantly clamps his hand down onto her shoulder to stop her from moving any further, his eyes looking very agitated as Rochelle looked back at him in mock shock.

"Well that's just a rude thing for you to do Mr.," says Rochelle as she shot him a serious look. "I just want to introduce myself to your fiancée, that's all."

"You'll stay right here, right by the door . . ." the Viper growls through gritted teeth as he shot her an intense gaze in return. "What the fuck are you doing here Rochelle?"

"I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by to pay a visit to an old friend, that's all . . ." says the woman as she shot him a fang-bearing grin. "I'm guessing you're not going to allow me the chance to see the rest of your family right?"

"Oh great . . . You know me so well . . ." Randy tells her with utter sarcasm in his voice as Rochelle lets out a small chuckle. "What's the real reason you decided to show up here at my door?"

"Ah . . . always straight to the point huh?" asks Rochelle as she shakes her head as she lets out a small breath. "Fine . . . I'll tell you. I came to see if you were reconsidering my offer to join my side."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Randy says in disbelief as he shakes his head. "You actually came to my hotel room for that?"

"Yes, yes I did . . ." says Rochelle as she managed to break free from Randy's solid grip. "I came here to your room to see if you have reconsidered my offer to join me in my conquest of the West. Have you thought about it?"

"Yes . . ." Randy tells her as he narrows his eyes. "Yes, I have thought it over."

"And?" Rochelle asks expectantly as her tone goes up a pitch. "What have you decided?"

"I'm still not joining you. Goodbye!" Randy tells her as he slams the door in her face. He turns to me and lets out a deep breath, but Rochelle starts hitting our door as soon as Randy tries to take a step away. "Go away Rochelle!"

"Now don't be like that Randy!" she yells back as she continues to knock on our door. "I'm offering you a great opportunity and you're just throwing it away my friend!"

"One: your idea of great opportunity is absolutely bat-shit crazy," Randy yells back as he stares down the door like he wanted to incinerate it with his eyes. "And two: whoever said that I was your friend in the first place?!"

"Well that hurts . . ." we hear her mumble as the knocking sounds became paused, but then they started up again faster and harder than before. "But that's not going to stop me!"

"She cannot drop bit!" Randy whispers to me as he quickly makes his way over to my side. "She was very persistent when we were still in the military, but now, her persistence is starting to reach a whole other level."

"This must be both awkward and annoying for you huh?" I say with a sheepish look on my face as I shake my head. "So, this was what she was like back when you two were in the military together huh?"

"This was what she was like half of the time," he tells me with an exasperated sigh as I walk over to the door. "The other half of the time she was a manipulative conniving bitch."

"I heard that!" Rochelle quickly yells as she continues her incessant knocking.

"You were supposed to!" Randy yells back as I shake my head.

"I figured her knocking would have attracted the attention of some of our neighbors or hotel security, but nope, not a peep so far from them . . ." I say as I shake my head. "Well, I might as well get her to stop."

"And how do you possibly plan to do that?" Randy asks me tiredly as I grab hold of the doorknob.

"You'll see . . ." I say as I open the door to see Rochelle with a disgruntled look on her face. "Are you okay?"

"I will be once Randy apologizes for his harsh comment earlier." she tells me quickly as she shoots daggers at my fiancé.

"Why would I apologize for something that's true?" Randy asks her with a scowl on his face as he walks over to us. "You've been like this ever since we first met."

"There is definitely a lot of tension going on between you two . . ." I say as I step into Randy's way, just in case he tries to throttle Rochelle or something. "Rochelle, can you please just leave already?"

"I would, but annoying Randy this much is just too much fun . . ." she tells me with a grin as I feel him tense up right behind me.

"Well, asking you politely didn't work, so I'm going to have to try a different idea." I say as I close my eyes.

"And what idea could that be?" she asks me with a chuckle, but she suddenly cuts herself off once I have full control of her mind. Once I open my eyes, I look to see Rochelle's face completely stuck in a trance-like expression, her body going a little slack as I physically turned her to face down the hallway.

"Okay Rochelle, I want you to walk down the hallway, take the elevator down to the lobby, walk out of the hotel, and never come back to annoy Randy, you hear me?" I say as I pat her on the shoulder. She slowly nods her head yes. "Good girl . . . Now go!"

"Have I ever told you how you never cease to amaze me?" I hear Randy ask me as we watch as Rochelle's boards an elevator. "Because you never do. . ."

"I try . . ." I say with a smirk as I close the door behind us. "Sorry, I guess starting your day with an impromptu visit from one of the people you hate the most wasn't what you expected for your birthday right?"

"Not at all . . . But there is still plenty of birthday for us to salvage," Randy tells me as he takes my hand. ". . . How about we start things over with some breakfast?"

"One call to room service coming right up. . . "I say with a smirk as I lead him to the bedroom, but for some reason, I don't think Rochelle's going to completely disappear from our lives just yet.
