Chapter 79: Hawaii
Amanda's POV; June 16; Cleveland, Ohio
"Hmm . . . Randy . . . Randy . . ." I say in a soft voice as I try to shake the Viper awake from his slumber. He lets out a gruff snort as he rolls away from me and over to my side of the bed, rolling his pillow over his head like a taco as he tries to block me out. "Randy . . . It's time to wake up baby. We have to get ready for our flight out today Snake Boy."
"Can't you give me five more minutes, baby . . .?" he asks me in a pained moan as I slide into the bed next to him. "My match with Kane last night went from a regular bout to a No Holds Barred match in no time flat, and then Sheamus came into the picture. I'm resting my battle wounds right now. You can understand that right hon?"
"That's not true and we both know it . . ." I say with a scowl on my face as I slap on his ass. "You just want five more minutes of sleep just for the hell of it."
"I've given you extra time to sleep when we had to leave out to go somewhere plenty of times before. Can't you do the same for me baby?" Randy asks me in his hopeful tone of voice as I rest my arm along his side. "C'mon 'Manda, you know I have you beat on this one."
"Damn you and your good points. . ." I grumble in a harsh tone as I hear him chuckle within his pillow. "Fine . . . you win this round. I'm going to go make sure Alanna and Nate get ready before I move on to the twins."
"Thank you, my sexy snake mama . . ." says my somewhat sleepy beau as I leave the room. I make sure to walk over to the side of the bed I knew his face was facing to shoot him one of my signature red-eyed stares before leaving the room. We were only allowed a suite with two bedrooms, so while Randy, me, and the twins slept in one room, Alanna took the other room while Nate was left to sleep on the couch. I stopped by him first.
"Nate, it's time to wake up!" I say as I pick up a sofa cushion from off the ground and throw it straight at his head. "We have a flight to catch and we got to get a move on."
"Oh yeah . . . Today's our day to fly to Hawaii!" he says in a sleepy, but giddy voice as he takes his bedsheet off lanky, but muscular form. "Thank you so much for inviting me to come along by the way."
"No problem Nate . . ." I say with a smirk as he sits up on the couch. "Randy actually didn't want you to come along at first, but I vouched for you, and well, here we are preparing ourselves for our trip to the big island."
"How exactly did you vouch for me anyway?" Nate asks me with a curious look on his face. "We both know that Randy isn't an easy guy to sway."
"She managed to convince me that you would be a better babysitter than one that worked for the hotel," says the Viper as he walks into the room with Gabi and Dani in each arm. "And when I really thought about it, I realized that she was right. I definitely trust you more with the girls than some hotel's hired babysitter."
"Even though I'm a little miffed that you guys are only bringing me along as a kind of babysitter for you guys so you could have your date nights and stuff like that, I don't really care because, well. . . I'm going to Hawaii for crying out loud! I don't really have any complaints to share," says the younger Orton as he jumps off the sofa.
"Good . . ." says Randy as he shakes his head. "I wasn't going to listen to them anyway."
"Well aren't you just a mean person . . . ?" Nate asks sarcastically as Alanna finally emerges from her room. "Morning Alanna, are you ready for our trip out to the Pacific?"
"Maybe . . ." she says as Randy hands me Gabi. "Should I get ready now?"
"Please do . . ." I say as I feel Gabi start to grab for my hair. Alanna makes her way back to her room and closes the door behind her, mumbling something about wearing her favorite summer dress to go as she went. "Randy, can you ready the twins' breakfast please?"
"Two bottles of formula coming right up babe . . ." says the Viper as he hands Dani off to Nate before going into the small kitchen. "We got to make sure our twins' are fed before they go on the first ever flight!"
"Well . . . I'm going to get ready now, so I'll hand your oldest child back over to you," says Nate as he places Dani right next to me sitting up. He quickly grabs the clothes he laid out for himself from off his suitcase before going into the bathroom that was off to the side. "I'll be out in about 20 minutes everyone!"
"When he says 20 minutes, he means 40 minutes. . ." Randy calls out from the kitchen as I stop Gabi from putting my hair strands into her mouth. "And he spends 30 of those minutes just staring in the mirror to admire his so called 'beauty'."
"Just like how you spend 30 minutes trying to figure out whether to shave off your stubble or not!" Nate calls out from the bathroom in response as Randy poked his head out of the kitchen to stare at the door in disbelief. "C'mon Ran! We all know how much you struggle with your stubble on practically a weekly basis!"
"I don't struggle that much with it . . ." Randy says with the tiniest hint of a whine as he turns to me. "Do I? Do I really struggle with it that much?"
"You kinda do . . ." I say with a shake of my head as Dani seemingly follows my movement. "And Dani looks like she's agreeing with me."
"And Gabi looks like she wants to make breakfast out of your hair . . ." Randy says as I quickly stop the girl from putting my hair into her mouth. "She's becoming way too interested in putting random stuff in her mouth . . ."
"Are the girls' bottles ready now?" I ask as I give Gabi my best disapproving look, but all she does is smile back at me in return. "No Gabi; my hair is not food. It's not healthy to eat other peoples' hair missy."
"Here you go . . . I made sure to check the temperature so that it wouldn't be too hot for them, like always," says my fiancé as he finally walks into the room with the prepared bottles in hand. I take one from his grip and start to feed Gabi with it while he did the same with Dani. During that time, Alanna finally emerges from her room dressed in a nice purple summer dress and white sandals, her blonde hair still looking slightly wet as she walked over to us. "Did you brush your teeth Alanna?"
"Yes daddy . . . I did brush my teeth," she says with a grin, even doing a big smile for emphasis as she points to her mouth. "When are the rest of us going to eat?"
"We're going to eat while we're on the road . . ." Randy says with a chuckle as Dani started reaching for the bottle he was still feeding her with. "Sorry Alanna, I don't really have enough time to make a home cooked meal for the rest of us. . . Looks like we're going to have a fast food breakfast today after all. . ."
"I have no problems with that!" Alanna says with a big grin on her face as I finish feeding Gabi, just as Nate walks back into the room.
"Yeah . . . Like little kids would have any problem with eating fast food . . ." Nate says with a smirk as Randy and I start burping the girls. They both ended up burping at the same time. "Aw . . . the twins even burp together. That is so cute."
"It's cute when they're babies, but when they're older, I don't think it's going to be that cute . . ." Alanna says with a shake of her head. "It'll probably go from cute to weird as they grow older."
"I have to agree with you on that one Alanna . . ." I say with a chuckle as I get up out of my seat. "My mother always said that the things Monica and I would do at the same time would get less and less cute as we got older. It'll probably be the same thing for Dani and Gabi."
"But for now, we will enjoy the cute moments Dani and Gabi will have now while they're still babies," Randy says with a smirk as he follows after me into our room. "Although I really wish we had the camera on to videotape the girls burping together."
"I bet they'll enjoy watching that one when we start re-watching old family videos like, ten years from now . . ." I say with a shake of my head. "The girls' clothes are on top of my bag. We'll just change them now and I'll bathe them as soon as we get to the hotel in Hawaii."
"About the hotel 'Manda . . ." Randy says with a sheepish look on his face as he brings over the baby bag. "I actually had something better in mind than a hotel."
"Really?" I ask with an eyebrow raised as I take out two fresh diapers from the bag. "What do you mean by that? All I really asked you to do was to do the hotel arraignments Ran . . . Did you do something different that I may be a little concerned about?"
"Oh no, on the contrary 'Manda . . . Just wait and see baby . . ." he says with a smirk on his face as he pulls me into his chest and gives me a kiss. "And once you see it, you're going to love it. Trust me."
Randy's POV; 10:00 A.M. (Hawaiian Standard Time)
"I never realized a flight from Cleveland to Honolulu would take that long!" my brother says in exasperation as we walk out the airport's arrival hall and into the Hawaiian sunshine. A baggage handler was pushing our luggage along on a cart while we walked behind him with 'Manda manning the twins' stroller. "How long were we up in the air again?"
"It was at least a good four hour flight from Cleveland to San Francisco, and then it was about another six hours on the connecting flight from San Fran all the way here . . ." Amanda says with a smirk on her face as she adjusted the lei around her neck so that it wouldn't get caught in her hair. "It will take a while to adjust to the change in time zones though. We're a good ten time zones behind everyone back in Cleveland."
"Is that why I feel ready for dinner when it's actually still time for breakfast here?" Alanna asks with a curious look on her face as she looks up at me.
"That's probably it Alanna . . ." I say with a smirk as we cross the street over to the rental car lot. "And don't worry . . . You're not the only one who feels hungry for dinner right now. I feel the exact same way. . ."
When we finally reach the rental office, Nate and I go inside to handle the paperwork while the others stay right outside. After stopping Nate from trying to persuade me to rent out cars that weren't logically usable for our group, but very probable for Amanda and I when we finally go on our honeymoon, we settle on a Chevy SUV that had enough space to fit everyone and the luggage. While the guy at the desk goes into the lot to retrieve our rental, Nate and I walk back out to see Amanda and Alanna looking at the screen of Alanna's camera. Alanna was smiling at her work while a bemused smirk graced Amanda's face.
"See anything you like 'Manda?" I ask with a smirk on my face as Amanda covers her eyes in embarrassment. "The photos aren't that bad are they?"
"Let's just say we should never fall asleep when Alanna has her camera on . . ." Amanda says as she lets out a bemused chuckle as she hands the camera to me. ". . . Just look at how many photos of us sleeping she has on there."
"I took lots and lots of photos . . ." Alanna tells me proudly as I look through the photo gallery and I had to admit, she did indeed take a lot of photos of us while Amanda and I were sleeping, and some of them were not so flattering. "Do you like them?"
"I love them Alanna . . ." I say with a chuckle as I stop on a photo of myself asleep with my head resting on the wall of the plane. As soon as we hear a car horn, we all look up to see the rental SUV pull up to the curb. Nate and I help the baggage handler put the luggage into the trunk while Amanda handles the girls' car seats. Once the luggage was put away and the twins' car seats were safely inside the SUV, I grab the keys and the paperwork from the rental guy and get my ass into the driver's seat. Nate took the front passenger seat, while the girls' stayed in the backseats. "Is everyone ready to go?"
"I think everyone is absolutely ready . . ." Nate says with a grin as he checks on everyone in the back. "So . . . uh, which hotel did you book us in exactly Ran? And please tell me that you actually know the directions to the hotel!"
"I actually didn't book us in a hotel . . ." I say with a chuckle as I feel everyone stares on me. "I arraigned us something even better."
"Uh . . . what could be better than a hotel?" Alanna instantly asks me as I notice her giving me an intense stare in the rearview mirror.
"You'll see . . ." I say with a smirk as I take out my phone and tap on the Notes app before handing it To Amanda. "Here 'Manda . . . I typed in the directions of the place we're going to on my phone. Can you please read them off for me while I'm driving?"
"Sure . . ." she tells me simply as she takes the phone. "But you didn't exactly answer the question Randy, and these directions don't give me a name either. Where exactly are you taking us to?"
"Like I said before . . ." I say with a chuckle as I start to drive us out of the airport. "You will see."
Normal POV
"Wherever we're staying at, it's definitely not located in the big city . . ." mumbled Nate as Randy continued to drive them along the highway. "I have a pretty good feeling you are taking us somewhere that's secluded . . . like, very secluded that it's fit for vampires secluded."
"You're on the right track with that thought Nate . . ." said the Viper as he nodded his head. "It's also a place that's not stocked with groceries, which is why we had to stop at a supermarket to stock up before we left town."
"I don't really care if it's secluded or not. I just hope the place is nice . . ." said Amanda as she continued to look at the screen on Randy's phone. "Anyway, you have to turn off at the next exit Randy. Once you do that, you just drive straight for another three miles until you see a sign that says Marker 23. A dirt road would be beside the sign and you should take it all the way to the end of it in order to get us to our final destination."
"And speaking of the next exit, here it is coming up right now . . ." said the Viper as he spotted the sign just up ahead. He drove the SUV across the highway's three lanes in order to get to the exit, inwardly thinking that he was a little lucky that there were no other cars near him when he did it. "How are the twins doing back there?"
"Gabi is still smiling and Dani is still sleeping . . ." Amanda said with a chuckle as she tickled Gabi's bare foot, gaining a small giggle from the child in response. "And Alanna is wearing down the battery on my phone."
"Well that's what you get for letting her play Candy Crush on your phone for the whole ride . . ." said Nate as he let out a small chuckle. Alanna looked up at her uncle with an eyebrow raised before returning back to her game, her eyes looking completely focused as she continued with her game. Amanda just shook her head at him before returning her eyes to the window to enjoy the scenery as they continued driving. When Randy spotted Marker 23, he turned the car on to the dirt road beside it, which led into a large forest of palm trees.
"Alanna, if you don't look up from your game, you're going to miss all the beautiful scenery we're passing by . . ." Amanda said with a shake of her head as she looked at the girl in the mid-back seat.
"I'll look at it after I finish this game. Right now, I'm in the zone!" said Alanna as she kept her eyes glued onto the screen. "I will beat you Level 29! I will beat you!"
"Someone is determined to beat their game level!" Nate said in a singsong voice as a flock of tropical birds flew a few feet ahead of them. "She's missing one hell of a view though."
"You got that right . . ." said the Viper as he spotted a structure just up ahead of them. "Alanna, you're going to have to pause your game honey. We're almost at the house."
"We are?" Alanna asked as she finally moved her eyes from the screen. "Where is it?"
"We'll be there in three . . . two . . . one," said the Viper as he reached the end of the dirt road, which joined into a paved driveway that led to a garage that was big enough to fit two cars. The building was a large one story home that was designed to basically fit in with the jungle environment that was around it. "Everyone, I would like to welcome you all to our new home for the next two weeks!"
"Oh my . . ." Amanda said in shock as Randy drove them to a stop right in front of the garage. "This place is absolutely beautiful."
"I'll say!" said Nate as he exited the car, just as Randy cut the engine. "This place looks amazing! Does this place have a pool?"
"It has a pool and a Jacuzzi, and don't even think about getting into that Jacuzzi first Nate!" Randy warned as he too got out of the car. "Amanda and I are using it first!"
"We will see about that brother dearest . . ." Nate said with a smirk as the back passenger door opened up. When the boys turned around, they saw Alanna step out of the car, still with Amanda's phone in hand. "Alanna, are you still playing Candy Crush?"
"No . . . The battery just died," said the little girl as she handed Amanda back her phone. "This looks like a very nice house though, and did you say it has a pool daddy?"
"It has a pool and a Jacuzzi, but like I said before: Amanda and I get first dibs on the Jacuzzi," said Randy as Amanda managed to get the twins' car seats out the vehicle on her own. "So, who's ready to see the inside of the house?"
"I think we all are . . ." said Amanda as she climbed the small steps that led to the front door with each twin's car seat in her hands. "How did you find out about this place Randy?"
"Dad told me about it . . ." said the Viper as he, Nate, and Alanna joined her in front of the front door. "This is actually the place Mom and Dad are retiring to once they deem it is their time to leave the public world. They designed it and everything."
"Like grandma and grandpa with their old ranch in Montana?" asked Nate as Randy unlocked the door.
"Exactly . . ." said the Viper as he opened the door. "Why don't you all start exploring the place? I'll start bringing the luggage in."
"Okay!" Alanna yelled as she ran into the house after Nate, who didn't even wait for Randy to finish saying his piece before going inside. Amanda slowly walked inside, instantly taking in the spacious foyer as Randy returned to the car to get the bags. After taking in the foyer, Amanda checked out the kitchen before moving on to the bedrooms.
As soon as she walked into the first bedroom, she set the twins' car seats down and took off her purse and the baby bag before rolling out her shoulders. She took the twins out of their car seats and placed them on the top of the king sized bed before lying next to them, a small smirk showing on her face as she looked out the floor to ceiling windows in front of her.
"This is one beautiful view . . ." Amanda said with a smirk as Dani and Gabi both sat up, all of their eyes looking out into palm tree jungle before them. "Girls, I think your father outdid himself this time around."
"Thank you! I'm glad to hear you say that!" said Randy as he walked into the bedroom with both his and Amanda's suitcases in hand. "I was looking through possible hotels we could have stayed at, but then my dad offered his retirement home for us to use. I wasn't sure about it till he showed me the photo, and once I saw it, I was sold and thought this place was perfect for us to stay at during our stay here in Hawaii."
"I'm glad . . ." said Amanda as Randy walked over to her after setting the bags down. "Babe, promise me that we'll have a house like this when we decide to retire from the public world."
"I'll try to make that happen, but I don't think we need to worry about that till later in our lives baby," said Randy as he Nate poked his head into the room. "Hey Nate, the bag with the crib, your suitcase, and Alanna's suitcase are still in the SUV. Can you please get them for me?"
"Sure thing, and let me just say this. Mom and Dad have certainly gone all out when they designed this place," said Nate as he pointed behind him. "There's even a two person sauna down the hall!"
"Note to self: Use the sauna at least . . . twice before we have to leave Hawaii," said Amanda with a grin on her face as Nate disappeared down the hallway. "Well, after I figure out how to use it first."
"Can I join you?" Randy asked with a smile on his face as he lay down on the bed behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"You and I in a small room only dressed in our towels as we're basically baked alive. . ." Amanda mused as the Viper placed a few loving kisses on her shoulder. "Who knows what could happen in that situation?"
"We both know what can possibly happen in that situation . . ." the Viper growled playfully as he nibbled her earlobe. "But . . . Who knows when we'll get our chance . . ."
"I'm sure you can figure something out for the two of us . . ." said the Anaconda as she pulled Dani a little closer to her while Gabi continued to look at the scenery in awe. "But for the majority of the time, we'll be doing things like a family right?"
"Yes baby. We will . . ." said the Viper as the two listened to a pair of squishy sounding footprints from somewhere down the hallway. "Why do I hear the sound of wet footprints walking down the hallway?"
"Why don't you see for yourself?" Amanda asked with a smirk on her face as she looked at the doorway. Randy looked at her in confusion before turning to the doorway to see a smiling, but soaking wet, Alanna looking at them with a grin on her face. "Alanna, why do you look like you just jumped into the pool?"
"Because I did just jump into the pool . . ." Alanna said with a grin on her face as she shook her head, sending water all across the tiled floor. "I wanted to try jumping in a pool fully clothed for once . . . I'm glad I did."
"Good for you . . . Now go dry yourself off missy!" Randy said in his serious fatherly tone as he pointed to the door. Alanna gave him a childish pout and even stuck her tongue out at him before running out the room giggling. Randy turns back to me, but then moves his eyes toward the twins. Both of them were looking at him with blank looks on their faces. "See that girls? I taught your sisters who's the boss in this family!"
"Yeah . . . you certainly did . . ." I say sarcastically as the Viper gives me a narrow-eyed look. "Say what you want about yourself Randy when it comes to who's the boss in this family. Just remember, when it comes to us as a couple, when it comes to who' the boss . . . That's still up for debate . . . A very big debate."
