Chapter 87: Viper Mode & Barbecues
Normal POV; the next day
"Mm . . . It's morning already," Alanna mumbled with a yawn as she picked her head off of her pillow. "Wait a minute. . . I wonder if Daddy and 'Manda made it back yet?"
Alanna quickly got out of bed in order to seek out her answer. She quickly checked on the twins and smiled when she saw that both her sisters were still asleep. Silently, she exited her room just as Amanda exited her room, the older woman already dressed for the day. When the blonde haired girl noticed the older female down the hall, she immediately ran to her and hugged her legs, easily catching Amanda off guard as she held on for dear life.
"Well hello there, little missy!" Amanda said with a smile on her face as she got her bearings back together. "Did you have a good night's sleep?"
"More or less . . ." Alanna said with a shrug as she looked up at her soon-to-be stepmom. "I was worried about you and daddy. Is he okay?"
"Your father is just fine. He's a little sleepy right now, but he's fine," Amanda assured her as she pat her shoulder. "Do you want to go talk to him?"
"Yes please . . ." Alanna said with a strong nod of her head. "I want to see with my own eyes. Once I see him, then I'll be completely assured that he's okay."
"Fine . . . I guess you don't want to take my word for it then . . ." Amanda said with a small pout on her face as she opened the door. Alanna shot her an apologetic look before entering the bedroom. When she spotted her father sleeping soundly on the mattress, Alanna decided to become his wake up call and jumped on him, instantly waking her father, who let out a loud yell in shock as he suddenly sat up. "Now that's what I call a wakeup call. Are you okay?"
"I'll be fine, once my balls recover from the sudden impact . . ." Randy said in a strained voice as he grabbed his bruised balls and crumpled into a fetal position. "What happened to me just now?"
"Alanna decided to give you a wakeup call by jumping on you," Amanda told him with a smirk as the little girl scrambled off the bed and over to her side. "I guess she didn't expect that she would hurt you that much when she jumped."
"I'm sorry daddy!" Alanna exclaimed as shot him an apologetic look. "I didn't think I was going to hit you that hard."
"That's okay . . . I'll recover soon enough," Randy told her with a shake of his head. "Anyway, was there any particular reason as why you wanted to suddenly wake me up this morning Alanna?"
"I wanted to see for my own eyes if you were okay or not," Alanna told him as she walked back over to Randy's bedside. "I was just worried about you and 'Manda going to see that crazy lady last night. . . That's a lot of stress for a seven year old girl you know!"
"I'm sorry if the situation yesterday stressed you out," Randy told her, his voice still strained as he sat back up. "But it's over now. Rochelle will no longer be bothering this family, so we can enjoy the rest of this vacation in peace."
"That's good to know," Alanna said with a big smile on her face. "Well, now that I know that you're okay, I'm going back to my room. I'll see you guys during breakfast."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Amanda asked Randy as Alanna exited the room. She quickly closed the door before walking back over to the bed, her eyes going straight to the hand that was covering the Viper's bruised extremities. "Alanna really hit you hard when she landed on you huh . . ."
"I'll be fine . . ." Randy mumbled as he pulled her onto the bed. When Amanda moved to sit on his lap, Randy visibly winced when her butt touched his boxer-covered crotch, instantly gaining Amanda's attention. "Okay, I think I'll be fine, eventually."
"Which means I should avoid sitting on your lap for the time being . . ." Amanda mumbled as she slid over to the spot next to him. "Who knew a jumping seven year old would cause so much damage to a 35 year old man's genitalia."
"Who knew huh? It definitely didn't help that I was having some pretty naughty thoughts in my head before she leapt on me too . . ." Randy absentmindedly said as he shook his head.
"Randy, don't tell me you were semi-hard when Alanna decided to wake you up . . ." Amanda said with a grin, holding back a small chuckle as Randy shot her a narrow eyed look. "Oh my goodness, you did, didn't you?"
"Well, let's just say my naughty thoughts hurt me in the end okay?" said Randy, slightly embarrassed that he was caught in his current predicament. "Please don't mention this to anyone outside this room. I would never hear the end of it of this got out."
"You're embarrassing secret is safe with me," Amanda told him with a smirk as she pat him on his shoulder. "So, what do you want to do today?"
"Well . . . I was thinking that we get straight back to our vacation after finally getting over the hiccup that is, well, was Rochelle," Randy said with a strong nod of his head. "How about we do an afternoon picnic?"
"Hmm . . . We're going to have to buy a few things from the supermarket first," Amanda said thoughtfully as she brought a hand to her chin. "And where exactly would we have the picnic at?"
"I could find us a nice spot around here somewhere. . ." Randy told her with a smirk as Amanda wrapped her arms around his waist. "Of course, it's going to have to be close to the house just in case we need something for the twins, like diapers or more formula for the bottles. Or we can go to one of the national parks on the island, but that requires a lot more planning."
"Way to think ahead Ran . . ." Amanda said with a chuckle as she kissed his cheek. Her lips lingered there for a moment before moving down to his neck, peppering it with wet kisses as she went. Randy closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feel of his mate's lips on his skin. He let out a low moan when Amanda came into contact with a sensitive spot just to the left of his jugular vein. In response to his mate's ministrations, Randy let his hand travel up his mate's back and into her hair. He weaved his fingers into the dark tendrils before pulling her head back roughly and slamming his lips onto hers for a kiss, their lips pressed together as Amanda wrapped her arms around his neck. When they finally broke apart, Amanda looked at him with intensity in her eyes, her lips swollen from that one kiss alone. "I so love it when you get rough with me like that . . ."
"I do remember that me being rough with you has always been a great turn on for you . . ." Randy whispered to her in his husky tone of voice, now fully recovered from the kid jumping incident. "You've always been very receptive to my, tactic in the past."
"I may have shown an appreciation for it in the past . . ." Amanda mumbled reluctantly as she shot him a small pout.
"C'mon baby . . . You know you love it when I get rough with you," Randy said with a chuckle as he pecked her forehead. "You especially love it when I get all 'Viper' on you . . ."
"Oh yes. . . I so love it when you start to pound your fists on the mattress while looking at me with that predatory Viper-like stare you have . . ." Amanda said sarcastically, but Randy knew from the look of her eyes that she indeed love it when he did get all 'Viper' on her.
"Don't get all sarcastic with me sweetheart . . ." Randy warned her as she let his neck go. "We both know that you like the Viper side of me when it's in action. Do you want me to show it to you again to refresh your memory a little?"
"That's alright . . . I have seen you show off your Viper mode for many years now. I don't need a refresher course," Amanda said with a shake of her head as she got off the bed. She walked over to the door, but before she could open it, a series of thumping noises emanated from the bed. She turned around to see that Randy was already in Viper mode, pounding his fists into the mattress like he would in the ring. His eyes were entirely focused on his mate. "Oh no . . ."
"You better run Ms. Anaconda," Randy said; his voice dark and husky as he held himself up on the bed with his fists. "You better run real fast . . ."
"Oh great . . ." Amanda as she shook her head. "Do you really think that you going into 'Viper' mode is going to sway me now? I've seen this act before Ran. To be honest, it's not as scary as it used to be."
"Did I just hear you right? Did you just tell me that my 'Viper' mode isn't as scary as it used to be?" Randy asked her as he let a small hint of malice show in his voice. Amanda simply shook her head yes before turning around, but before she could get the door open, Randy pinned her to the door chest first. "Take that back . . ."
"Take what back?" Amanda asked, playing dumb as she felt Randy's chest press against her back. "I'm taking nothing back."
"Take what you said just now back," Randy whispered darkly in her ear as he continued to press her into the door. "Once you take back what you said, then I will let you go."
"Yeah . . . not happening," Amanda mumbled as she faced the door. When she felt Randy's grip on her loosen slightly, she used it as her opportunity to break free from his strong hold. She slipped out of his grip and swept his legs out from under him, sending the Viper crashing to the floor below. Before Randy could even move, Amanda crawled on top of him and straddled him, pinning his arms by the wrist on either side of his head. "You're going to have to convince me a lot better than this that your Viper mode is still scary, well, in my eyes at least."
"Why are you such a hard woman to convince?" Randy grumbled as he narrowed his eyes at her. "Has 'Viper' mode really gone stale in your eyes?"
"Do . . . Do you really want me to answer that question baby?" Amanda asked him with a sheepish pout. When Randy shook his head yes, she let out a sigh of defeat. "Well hon, like I said before, I've seen you go into that Viper state of mind of yours for many years now, and after seeing it so many times like I have, it's kind of, uh, ran its course for me. Well . . . unless you can step it up a bit. You know, spice things up a little."
"I guess I see your point," Randy told her with a shake of his head. "After all these years of getting all 'Viper' on my opponents with you hanging outside of the ring, I guess the act has gotten a little stale."
"It's nice to see that you're really understanding on the issue," Amanda said with a sheepish look on her face. "To be honest baby, I do like 'Viper' mode, but it's just getting a little too old to me, just a little. That's all I'm saying."
"Just a little?" Randy asked her curiously.
"Just a little," Amanda said assuredly as she pecked his forehead. "That's all I'm saying."
"And if I spice it up a little bit more, then you'll be completely fine with it again?"
"I'm still fine with Viper mode Randy. I'm just suggesting that you spice it up a bit more, well, at least for me." Amanda told him with a chuckle.
"Why do I have the feeling you don't mean what you say . . ." Randy mumbled with a scowl on his face as he finally listened to Amanda's heartbeat, the beat of the usually slow organ picking up the pace just a smidge. "Wait a minute, you haven't been truthful with me this entire time!"
"I was wondering when you were finally going to catch on," Amanda said with a victorious grin on her face. "I really threw you for a loop with the whole 'Your Viper-shtick is getting stale' thing didn't I?"
"That was a cruel thing for you to do to me 'Manda," Randy said with a hurt look on his face. "I was starting to believe that you actually thought my gimmick was getting stale, well, until I decided to listen to the beat of your heart to see if you were lying or not!"
"I can't believe my ruse lasted this long on you though . . ." Amanda said with a chuckle. "You could have just listened to my heart from the get go to see if I was telling the truth or not, but you didn't, until now."
"The way you spoke was so convincing. I honestly believed your story till your heart told me otherwise," Randy told her in defense as he managed a small shrug. "You have some seriously good acting skills. You should star in movies with that talent."
"I'm not really into starring in movies, unless they have a martial arts theme to it. Those are the ones I would actually be interested in . . ." Amanda said with a smirk as she finally let Randy's hands go.
"So, you don't think my Viper gimmick is . . . stale?" Randy asked her with an eyebrow raised.
"Not at all . . . I loved your Viper gimmick when you first debuted it, and that love has not wavered since that day years ago," Amanda told him with a sincere look on her face. "To be honest, I think I would be devastated if you had to change your Viper gimmick."
"If that was the case, I would have to change the gimmick when it comes to the WWE Universe, but I wouldn't change it when it comes to you," Randy told her as he took her hand in his. "I would get all 'Viper' on you all day and all night long if you want me to."
"Was that a reference to sex?"
"Maybe . . ." Randy told her innocently as she finally stood up from her seat. He then held his hand out to her. "Care to help me up to my feet sweetie?"
"I'll do you one better," Amanda told him with a smirk. She quickly knelt down and actually picked the Viper up bridal style, stunning the Viper into silence as she walked him over to the bed. She then unceremoniously dropped him onto the bed. "Now you know how I feel when you carry me bridal style and just drop me onto the bed like you sometimes do."
"I guess things come full circle after all . . ." Randy chuckled as he lay back on the mattress. When he heard the sounds of someone knocking on the door, he looked up to see Amanda walking over to the door to answer it. When she opened the door, Nate poked his head into the room. "What do you want now Nate?"
"I was wondering if either of you two was planning to cook breakfast today," Nate said with a shrug. "If not, I'll just go make myself a bowl of cereal right now."
"You better . . ." Amanda said with a shrug. "Before you leave though, I want to ask you something. How would you feel about a little family picnic today? By the way, this was Randy's idea. Not mine."
"A picnic . . . Nah, to be honest, I'm thinking barbecue," said Nate as he pat his stomach. "We already have all the things we need for a barbecue right here at home. If you want to stick with the picnic idea, you're going to have to go to a store to pick up a few things."
"Nate does make a point . . ." mumbled Amanda as she turned to her beau. "So Randy, what do you think? Do you want to stick with your picnic idea, or do you want to do a barbecue instead?"
"Barbecue sounds much more appealing than picnic to me right now," Randy said with a shrug. "Barbecue it is then!"
"I can taste the hamburgers and hot dogs now!" said Nate with a strong nod of his head. "This should be a fun."
Amanda's POV; hours later
"Randy, I just finished cleaning out the grill!" I exclaim as I throw the old rag I was using away. "It's ready for the coal!"
"Just give Nate five more minutes," Randy tells me with a smirk as he walks out the house pushing Dani and Gabi's baby seats over to the nearby table. "I just got a text from him saying that he just turned into the driveway. He should be here with the coal any minute now."
"What took him so long though?" I ask with an eyebrow raised as I walk back into the house, Randy quickly following right at my heels. "It shouldn't have taken so long to buy a simple bag of coal."
"Maybe he spotted a hot girl and decided to flirt with her," Randy says with a smirk as we walk over to Alanna's room. "He has done that before."
"That is true," I say with a smirk as we reach Alanna's bedroom. "Randy, why don't you and Alanna bring the twins outside? I have to do something real quick."
"Okay . . ." Randy says unsurely, his eyes looking questionable as I pecked his lips. I jog over to our room and shut the door behind me before running over to my suitcase. Once I changed into my gray snakeskin themed bikini, a recent purchase I made just for this vacation, and my jean shorts, I slide my slippers back onto my feet before leaving my room to go join the others. Before I even make my way outdoors, I spot Randy talking to Nate in the kitchen. Apparently, the topic of the discussion at hand was the type of coal Nate bought.
"Why'd you buy the original ones? I asked you to buy the ones that'll give the meat a smoky flavor." Randy said with a scowl on his face as he points to the bag of coal in Nate's hand.
"They ran out of the ones with the smoky flavor. The originals was the only one they had left," Nate says in his defense as he waved the bag around. "You're just going to have to deal with it Randy."
"Are you guys really going to argue about what kind of coals to use in the grill," I ask as I let my presence be known. "Is it really going to make that big of a difference if the food's going to have a smoky flavor or not?"
"Yes it will . . . The smokiness would pump up the flavor of the food. It would make it even better," Randy tells me with a scowl as he turns my way. His scowl turns into a smile, his eyes going up and down just drinking up the sight of my body. "Just as you walking in here with that sexy swimsuit of yours on has just made my day better."
"Way to go connecting your coal issue with my bikini Randy," I say with a shake of my head. "Anyway, you're just going to have to deal with using ordinary coals today."
"Fine . . . I'll start the fire," he grumbles like a spoiled child not getting what he wants. "It's not as good as the ones with the smoky flavor to it, but I guess I'm forced to work with it after all."
"Randal Keith Orton, get out there and start the dang grill already before I grab you by the ear and drag you out there so that our girls could see," I threaten with a scowl on my face as I point out to the patio. He shoots me a pout, but I could easily see the playfulness in his eyes as he doesn't move from his spot. "I'm giving you three seconds to move it or else."
"You don't mean what you say . . ." he tells me with a smirk as he walks over to me, but then I prove him wrong by roughly grabbing him by his ear and dragging him out over to the patio grill, just like I said I would. "Okay, okay! You meant what you said! You meant what you said!"
"This is another reason why you shouldn't take the Anaconda likely," I say with a smirk as we pass our laughing daughters at the patio table and reach the grill. "Now, stay here and start the fire already. I'll have Nate bring the hamburgers and hot dogs out to you while I season the steak and the ribs."
"How long will that take?" Randy asks me hopefully, his mouth almost watering at the thought of eating his two favorite kinds of meat.
"I'm not going to start until you fire up the grill already." I say with a chuckle. He shoots me a look before opening the bag of coal and pouring some of it into the open grill. I quickly make my way back to the kitchen, almost hitting a hamburger and hot dog carrying Nate in the process. After gathering all the ingredients I needed, I put a certain amount of each spice and powder into a small bowl and mix it up before turning to the meat. After spreading the mixture evenly on the ribs and the steak, the latter being tonight's dinner, I put them into two separate containers and let them marinate in the fridge before grabbing everything that was needed for the hamburgers and hot dogs and rejoining the family out on the patio.
"And I was just about to come inside to get the buns," Nate greets me with a grin as he takes the condiments out of my hands while I kept the buns. "By the way, be vigilant. I think Randy's sneaking meat off the grill again."
"No I'm not!" Randy exclaims from his spot at the grill. "I have not been sneaking food!"
"I saw you eat a hot dog right off the grill like five minutes ago." Nate says with a knowing look on his face.
"You were seeing things," Randy says with a chuckle. "I didn't eat a hot dog off the grill . . . I ate two."
"Really Ran?" I ask with a disapproving shake of my head. "Sneaking food like a five year old . . . How childish can you be?"
"What? I'm getting hungry! Sue me!" Randy says with a shrug as he places some finished hot dogs. "How long do we have to wait till the steaks and ribs are done marinating?"
"I'll tell you when it's time to grill them. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to ready some formula for the twins," I say with a smirk as I put the buns down on the table before heading back to the house. I take less than 20 minutes to make the two bottles of formula, and I soon end up back outside to see everyone gathered at the table, already eating away at hot dogs and hamburgers. Everyone except the twins, who were patiently waiting for their drinks. "You seriously started eating without me? How cruel can you people be?"
"Hey! You're the one that decided to go inside to make the twins formula," Nate says through his mouthful of food as I sit down in the seat between Randy and Dani. "While you were inside, we took advantage. Simple as that, but I have a pretty good feeling that Randy here would save you some of the meat."
"Of course I would. I may love meat, but I'm not that stingy that I would horde it all for myself," Randy says with a grin as he assembles another hotdog. "Besides, my fiancée here would probably never let me see another rib or steak again if I didn't save her at least one hotdog or hamburger patty."
"Speaking of fiancée, how much longer is it till the wedding again?" Alanna asks us out of the blue as she looks up from her food.
"It's in another couple of months Alanna," I say as I hand one of the bottles over to Randy. I quickly hand Dani over to him before taking Gabi out of her chair. Gabi practically reaches for the plastic bottle as I bring it to her lips, the girl's lips latching right onto it as she began to drink. "Why do you ask?"
"Mom says that as soon as you drop me off at home, I have to go to a tailor so that I could get my dress tailored just right," she tells me with a smirk. "It wouldn't be good for your wedding if I looked like a frumpy flower girl."
"I seriously did not know that," Randy mumbles with a playful pout as he turns my way. "Anything else you want to tell me?"
"Not really . . ." I say with a grin before pecking his forehead. "Let's just enjoy today. We can worry about the wedding planning later."
"Fine . . ." Randy mumbles in defeat. "But I'm still curious about the whole thing."
"I know you are," I say with a grin as I look around the table at the rest of the family, our family. "But don't worry Ran, everything will be revealed in time."
The story is almost done. Up next: The Epilogues!
