Epilogue Pt 2: The Wedding Pt 2
Randy's POV
"Randy, are you okay? You've been pacing back and forth for a while now," Dad says with a smirk on his face as he held Dani up in his arms. My middle child was staring silently at me, looking absolutely adorable in her silver dress and matching headband. She was probably wondering the same thing that my dad was in that little psychic mind of hers, and I couldn't blame them. In just mere minutes, I was about to call 'Manda my wife. "If you keep this up, you may actually break a sweat in your suit, and I think 'Manda wouldn't appreciate meeting you down the aisle when you're all sweaty."
"Okay, so I'm a little nervous right now. To be honest, if you combined the nervousness I felt during the births of my three girls with the nervousness I felt going into my first title match, it still wouldn't compare to how nervous I'm feeling right now," I say as I look out the open door to see that most of the guests out in the garden were already seated and waiting for the ceremony to start. "And I'm not one who usually gets nervous Dad."
"That makes sense. You are marrying your soulmate after all," Dad says with a grin as Dani starts to reach for his formal cowboy hat. Yes, my dad has a cowboy hat for formal occasions. "I know how you feel. I was quite nervous myself when it was time for me to marry your mother all those years ago."
"Did it eventually go away?" I ask as my dad as he stops Dani from reaching for his hat. Dani lets out a low indignant sound at that, but she doesn't bother to reach for the hat anymore once Dad lets her little hand go.
"It eventually did. After your mother and I said our vows, it felt like a giant load was finally lifted off my shoulders," Dad tells me with a thoughtful look on his face. "I was eventually able to enjoy the rest of the wedding and the reception, but before that I was a completely nervous wreck."
"When did your nervousness reach its peak?" I ask with curiosity laced in my tone. I just couldn't help but ask this question, even though there was a risk that I would get even more nervous after hearing his answer.
"Probably when I saw your mom walk down the aisle," he tells me with a shake of his head. "As soon as I saw her, I felt like I was going to wet my pants."
"It's a good thing you didn't," Mom tells us with a grin as she walks toward us, followed by Calypso, Grandma Rita, Grandma Cynthia, and 'Manda's grandmas' Chu Hua and Berenice. "The last thing I needed on my wedding day was my groom smelling like pee."
"Well then, it's a good thing that didn't happen," Dad tells her with a smirk as he hands Dani off to her. "Anyway, Gabi's with her great grandpa Liam out in the garden with the rest of the guests. Are the girls' ready?"
"They're coming right now," Berenice says with that thick Portuguese accent of hers. "'Manda and Akbar are hanging back until its' their turn down the aisle. What about the groomsmen?"
"We're all ready to go!" Nate calls out as he and the guys appear from behind the corner at the opposite end of the hallway. "We just had to solve a little emergency before getting here."
"What was the emergency?" I ask as John started looking sheepish. "And John, how come you look so nervous?"
"I uh . . . I thought I misplaced the wedding bands for a minute," John says as he awkwardly scratches the back of his neck. "Turns out I forgot that I put it in my back pocket."
"You thought you misplaced the wedding bands for a minute?" Edge asks with an incredulous look on his face. "You were tearing up the suite looking for them. Talk about a drama queen."
"Hmm . . . We can't have the best man losing the wedding bands just minutes before the ceremony. It's a good thing you realized your mistake just in time," Chu Hua says with a smile on her face as all the parents besides Calypso make their way to their seats. "I'll see you guys outside."
"To this day, I'm still stunned at how ethnically mixed 'Manda and Monica are," Cody says with a shake of his head as the old Chinese woman left the building. "Like seriously though . . . One grandma's Chinese and the other's Brazilian."
"It does make for an interesting family tree don't it . . ." Calypso says in agreement as the girls come into view. "Ah, everything's ready to go ladies?"
"Everything's ready to go . . ." Monica says with a nod of her head, her blue dress noticeably different in design than the others. But then again, she is the maid of honor after all. "What about you guys? You guys all good?"
"Besides John thinking that he lost the wedding rings for a while, everything's good on our end lassie," Sheamus says with a smirk as John shot him a cold look. "What? I figured they had a right to know."
"Let's forget about it okay? John found the rings, and that's all that matters," Calypso says with a smile as we listen to the first notes of the processional wedding march start to play. "Ah . . . That's our cue. You're up first Randy."
"Alright then . . ." I say as I take in a deep breath. "Wish me luck guys."
And with that, I step outside into the cool September air to see all eyes on me as I walk down the snowy white aisle toward the altar, where the marriage officiant was waiting patiently for the rest of the procession to come in. I try to keep my face as neutral as possible, but I couldn't help but smile a little as the thought of marrying my beautiful fiancée in a matter of moments continued to enter my mind.
As the mother of the bride, Calypso ends up being the second person to walk down the aisle. Once she was seated on the left side of the front row next to her mother, it was time for 'Manda's bridesmaids and my groomsmen to take their turn. First it was Wade and Nikki, then Layla and Sheamus, Kofi and Alicia, Ted and Kelly, Cody and Kaitlyn, and Edge and Lita. Becky and Nate was the last bridesmaid and groomsman down the aisle before my best man John and Monica, 'Manda's maid of honor walked down the aisle. When they reached the end of it, Monica shoots me a supportive wink while John nodded his head in my direction before separating to their respective sides.
One of Monica and 'Manda's cousins walked down the aisle next, serving as the ring bearer. Alanna, the designated flower girl for the ceremony, appears next, and I couldn't help but let a big smile show on my face as she dropped blue flower petals as she walked. She ends up emptying the entire basket right as she reached the end of the aisle. My eldest child shoots me a big smile before walking over to her position, and as soon as I looked up to observe the aisle once again, I see her.
I am left in absolute awe as she appears at the other end of the aisle arm-in-arm with her father. My bride is an absolute vision in white, the dress hugging her curves in all the right places as she and Akbar slowly make their way down the aisle. Her veil covers her face, but it's sheer enough that I could see her nervous, but beautiful blue eyes perfectly enough. In one simple statement, Amanda is absolutely breathtaking.
"You're crying Randy . . ."
I hear Amanda's mental voice in an instant, and I instantly check my eyes to see if what she said was true. She was actually right. I was so caught up in Amanda's beauty that I never realized that I had suddenly teared up. I probably started crying just at the sight of her, but I never really felt it till now. I could hear a couple of my groomsmen whispering about my sudden crying, but I paid it no mind as Amanda and her dad finally reached the end of the aisle.
I never realized that Akbar had tears in his eyes as well until he kissed his daughter on the cheek, which was a little tricky since her veil was in the way. The tears finally fall when he has to hand his daughter's hand over to me, the feel of her hand in mine sending a warm feeling all over my body. My soon-to-be father-in-law nods his head my way before going to sit next to his wife, all eyes now on 'Manda and I as the officiant spoke the first words of the ceremony.
Amanda's POV
As the marriage officiant spoke, I couldn't help but do a little happy dance in my head, mostly because of Randy's reaction when he first saw me in my wedding dress. Randy's built up a reputation of being a tough, conniving wrestler known for wearing a look that was stone cold in nature. However, that reputation may have been knocked down a peg or two after his sudden crying outburst. It wasn't really an outburst per se, but it was enough to show all of our guests that Randy did have his sensitive moments. I wanted a reaction out of him, and I certainly got it.
When it came to the vows, we decided to just keep it traditional instead of writing our own, mostly because we both knew that we didn't need to say anything to show our love. We just instinctually knew it, and no words were ever capable to describe it. When it was time for the wedding rings, John handed them over to my serpentine beau before handing his ring off to me. I slid his ring onto his left ring finger and he did the same with mine, the silver band resting right next to the engagement ring. The rings were both simple in design, each ring inscribed with our initials and a heart between them. The only real difference between them was that mine had a single diamond along its shape.
After the officiant did the official pronouncement of our marriage, she announces that Randy can now kiss the bride. Randy wasted no time in pulling up my veil and pushing it backward so that it covered my hair. Both his hands go to either side of my face and cheers erupt all around us as our lips press together for our first kiss as husband and wife. When we finally disconnected, I opened my eyes to see that the only emotion that I could see in Randy's ice blue eyes, was love, and I wouldn't have it any other way as the officiant told us to face the crowd.
"Everyone, I would finally like to introduce you all to Mr. and Mrs. Randal Keith Orton!"
Everyone erupts in rapturous applause after the officiant makes her announcement, and I couldn't help but smile bashfully because of it. Randy kisses me on the side of my head before leading me down the aisle and back inside the building.
"Well that was fun . . ." Randy tells me with a smirk as we step off to the side. "How are you feeling Mrs. Orton?"
"Like the happiest girl in the world. Mr. Orton," I say with a smile on my face, the thought of now being considered an Orton still a new reality for me. "However, this day is not over yet."
"Of course it's not," Monica tells us with a smile as she hugs me from behind. "You two still have some paperwork to get done."
"As well as the wedding photos and the reception," Mom says with a smile on her face as she pats Randy on the shoulder. "Then it's off to the honeymoon, but of course, that's for later. Right now, it's time for the paperwork."
Randy continues to hold on to my hand as my mother and sister guides us over to a side room filled with our immediate family and the wedding officiant. After signing the official documents to make our union valid, we exit the room and walk down the hallway to an exit that led into another garden, which was where the rest of the wedding party were waiting for us, as well as the wedding photographer.
"Ah . . . there you are Mr. and Mrs. Orton," John says with that megawatt smile of his as he greets us both with hugs. "We were just about to start taking photos without you guys."
"Stop playing John . . ." I say with a shake of my head as I playfully pat him on the shoulder. "So Monica, what kind of order does the photographer want to take our photos in huh?"
"It's supposed to be the married couple with their immediate family, you guys with the girls first before the rest of us of course," Monica says as a thoughtful look comes across her face. "Then it's the bride with her bridal party and then the groom with his groomsmen."
"And then it's the groom and the groomsmen and the bride and the bridal party together right?" asks Layla as she raises an eyebrow.
"Yep . . . and then finally it'll just be the bride and groom by themselves while the rest of us make our way over to the ballroom," Monica says with a shrug. "That's basically it."
"Oh good . . . The sooner we get these photos taken, the sooner we can eat." Lita says with a grin on her face, most of us, including myself, shaking our heads in agreement.
Normal POV
"Has anyone seen my eldest child?" Randy asked with an eyebrow raised as he took Dani from his father's arms. Amanda handed her bouquet over to her sister before taking Gabi in her arms. They walked over to stand in front of a large bush of white roses, and once they were standing in position, the blonde flower girl ran out the building and over to the newly married couple. "Where have you been Alanna?"
"I had to go use the bathroom," Alanna said with a smile on her face as she face as she got into position between the two adults. The family posed for about five photos before the photographer gestured for the rest of the family to join them in the shot. "As soon as Mom told me that it was time for the photos, I quickly did my business and ran right out here, well, as fast as humanely possible."
"That was a smart thing for you to do Alanna. It would have definitely been . . . difficult if we had to explain to the human guests why a blonde blur was seen going down the hallway." Rita said in a whisper as the family got into position. All of 'Manda's relatives stood on her side while Randy's relatives stood on his. Once their pictures were taken, Amanda and the wedding photographer walked over to another part of the garden with the bridesmaids, Randy and his groomsmen following close behind. Once the girls had their photos taken, the boys took their turn before it was time for them to regroup for a combined photo op.
"Randy, are we still sticking to the plan?" John asked hopefully after the photographer took a couple of photos. When Randy shook his head yes, a victorious smile appeared on the Cenation leader's face. "Boys, it's time to unbutton our shirts!"
"Did John just say 'unbutton our shirts'?" Amanda asked totally confused, the sentiment being shared by the rest of her bridal party. When the boys unbuttoned their shirts just enough so that the girls could get the gist of what was going on, Amanda couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Oh my goodness! I should have known you guys would pull something like this."
"You all were wearing your company t-shirts under your tuxedos . . . You are a sneaky, sneaky bunch." Monica said with a shake of her head.
"We wanted to spice things up a little. We figured it would make the shots extra interesting," Wade said with a chuckle as he kissed her on her forehead. "At least I'm wearing your favorite one."
"That you are. That you are . . . Let's get this over with. I'm starting to get hungry and I'm eating for two." Monica said with a chuckle as she rewrapped her arm around the English native's waist. The photographer took a few more photos of the group before signaling that she had enough photos. As the rest of the group made their way back inside the venue, Randy and Amanda posed for their official photos as man and wife. They stayed arm and arm for the first couple of photos, but Randy couldn't help but do his signature 'Viper' pose for one shot. This led to a bunch of photos that were more fun and less formal, the last one ending up showing Amanda putting Randy in a headlock.
"I think our photoshoot went from formal to fun to wrestling moves in, like, five frames flat." Amanda said with a smile on her face as Randy hugged her from behind. They watched as the wedding photographer walked back into the building, which left them as the only ones outside at the moment.
"I bet it'll make for a great wedding album," Randy whispered into her ear before nibbling her earlobe. "When are we supposed to get the photos back?"
"The photographer said that she will mail us the hard copies of the photos once they're done in about three weeks," Amanda said with a smile on her face as she began to twist the jade ring on her finger. "However, she's going to send me the digital copies to my email first thing tomorrow morning, so we can see them while we're on our honeymoon."
"Oh yes . . . our honeymoon," Randy said with a smile on his face. "I seriously can't wait until we have to leave for our trip later."
"Can you at least give me one hint on where exactly you're planning to take me?" Amanda asked with a small pout on her face as she twisted the jade ring on her finger.
"No way 'Manda. I know you sweetheart. You can easily figure out the answer by just getting one simple hint, and I'm not taking any chances," Randy told her with a smirk on his face, his eyes going straight to her jade ring. "Huh, I've never seen you with that ring before. Is it new?"
"Grandma Chu Hua gave it to me before the ceremony. It's a gift from all my Chinese relatives that couldn't make it for the wedding," Amanda told him with a smirk on her face as she looked down at the ring. "In the Chinese culture, jade is a highly loved gemstone that's supposed to bring good luck to its wearer."
"Huh . . . That would explain why your Grandpa Liam gave me his gift before the ceremony," Randy said with a smirk as he showed his wife his jade encrusted cufflinks. "I actually was planning to wear a different set of cufflinks at first, but I figured wearing your grandfather's gift would be the better choice."
"Was it?" Amanda asked with a curious look on her face as she turned around in his grip so that she could face him better.
"It was. I feel like the luckiest man in the world right now, and can you guess why?" Randy asked her. Amanda, deciding to play along, shook her head no. "I feel like the luckiest man in the world because I just married you, the most beautiful, intelligent, and compassionate woman to ever grace the WWE ring. I'm absolutely honored to call myself your husband, milady."
"If you're going to start speaking like someone from old time nobility, then I might as well join in on the act," Amanda said with a smirk, making her husband laugh in an instant. "It is a pleasure to call myself your wife, Lord Viper."
"Lord?" Randy asked her with a smirk, now finally over his chuckle fit. "I can so get used to you saying that."
"Don't get all full of yourself Mr. You may be the groom, but I'm the bride, and the bride is usually the star of the wedding," Amanda told him playfully as she broke out of his grip. "Now let's go. We have a reception to get to."
Amanda's POV
"Yes milady," Randy tells me with an exaggerated bow. A chuckle passes my lips as I let him take my hand in mine. Once we get back inside the building, Randy leads me over to the main ballroom, where the rest of the wedding party was waiting for us. As our official wedding DJ, Ted had already gone ahead of us to set up his booth. Once we were given the signal, one by one, couple by couple, we walked inside, with Randy and I being the very last ones. Once Ted introduces us by our married name, Randy leads me over to the dance floor for the customary first dance. "You know what to do for the first dance right?"
"Of course I'll let you lead, if that's what you were alluding to." I say with a chuckle as Ted starts playing the song Randy and I managed to agree to. Randy shoots me a victorious smirk before waltzing me around the floor. When it came to the music for our first dance, it took us a very long while to agree to one. Randy and I were hoping to use a rock song for our first dance. In Randy's case, he was hoping to use a song from Metallica, his all-time favorite band. We couldn't decide on one we both liked, so we just gave up on the whole rock song idea and just went with the first song that we both liked that ended up playing on the radio. It ended up being John Legend "All of Me". I liked it because it was a really thoughtful song that wasn't really too 'pop'. Randy liked it because I was the first and only thing that came to his mind during the entire song, which sounds way more caring when you compare it to my reason.
We waltzed around the dance floor, lost in our own little world, until our song was over. Then it was time for us to dance with our in-laws. Randy ended up dancing with my mother while I danced with his father. The rest of our wedding party, as well as the guests, joined us on the floor while I was dancing with my dad and Randy was dancing with his mom. After I finished having my fill of dancing at the moment, I walked over to the main table with Randy following close behind me.
The toasts commenced just as dinner was starting to be served. The toasts ranged from the simple ones given by our parents' and grandparents, to the funny ones that our siblings couldn't help but share, to the outrageous ones, courtesy of our coworkers. Nate, especially, brought the house down with the stories he remembered from our combined childhood. I laughed through all of it, but Randy managed to look a little peeved at a couple of the stories that were shared. In his defense, Nate's stories did share embarrassing details that my husband probably wanted to keep secret.
"I have an announcement to make," Ted exclaims into the microphone as he looks around the room. "For those of you on the dance floor right now, please clear some space. It's about time for the bouquet toss. The garter toss will be soon after that, but for now, ladies, well, the unmarried ones, please come to the dance floor to try your luck."
"Who do you think is going to catch your bouquet?" Randy asks me with a smirk as I get up from my chair.
"I don't know . . . The possibilities are endless," I say with a smirk as I watch as all the unmarried women in the room gathered on the dance floor, including all of my bridal party. I pick my bouquet up from off the table and make my way over to stand a few feet in front of the female crowd. Once I turned my back on them, I toss my bouquet a few times in my hands before letting it fly. I quickly turn my head to see who gets it. My bouquet bounces from hand to hand until it finally lands in my sister's unsuspecting grip. "Congrats Monica, you caught the bouquet."
"I wasn't really expecting to, especially since I was standing more toward the back of the crowd so I wouldn't get any unwanted elbows in my pregnant gut," she tells me in shock as she waves the bouquet in the air. "I thought Nikki would get it for sure. She looked primed to catch the bouquet."
"And I was this close too," Nikki adds with a shake of her head. "But Alicia slapped it out of the way before I could get a finger on it."
"I was trying to grab it, but I ended up pawing it away in another direction," says Alicia with a shake of her head. "At least we know whose wedding we should prepare for next."
"Hey Wade! Are we going to be seeing wedding bells in yours' and Monica's future?" I ask with a smirk on my face as we turn to the main table. Wade just shrugs, his eyes more so on Monica and the bouquet than the rest of us. "I'll take that as a maybe."
"You shouldn't be worrying about that now Amanda," Lita tells me with a smirk as a couple of the groomsmen bring a chair out to the middle of the floor. "What you should be focusing on is up next on the schedule . . ."
"Oh yes . . . This should be fun," I say as the girls head back to their seats. I take a deep breath before taking my seat in the middle of the dance floor. Randy has a smirk on his face the entire time he makes his way from the table over to me. I try to keep my face as normal as possible, but I crumbled as soon as Randy started to leave kisses up my leg as he moved under my dress. I hid my face in my hands, mostly to hide the blissful look on my face as Randy dragged my garter off my leg with his teeth, gaining cheers and a whole bunch of whistles from our guests. Once he held my garter up for the whole room to see. I moved off the dance floor to make way for the garter toss. Once all the unmarried men were gathered on the floor, Randy flicked his wrist, sending the garter flying into the throng of men. It ended up landing right on Wade's head. "Congratulations Wade."
"I should have expected this," the British werewolf says with a small scowl on his face as he turns to my husband. "You were planning for this to happen, didn't you Orton?"
"How could I have been targeting to you if my back was turned?" Randy asked him innocently as he wraps an arm around my waist. "I guess it was just the luck of the draw that the garter landed on you. Now you and Monica have to get married in the future."
"Just like you had to start to kissing up my leg when you were removing my garter belt right?" I whisper into his ear as our wedding cake is brought in from the kitchen, all four tiers of it.
"You enjoyed it didn't you?" Randy asks me with a smirk on his face.
"Not as much as I'm going to enjoy smashing some cake into your face sweetheart." I say as our cake is brought over to a separate table just off to the side of the main one. Randy just shoots me his Viper-like grin, his face challenging as I shoot him a proud smirk.
"We will see about that."
