Our Crazy Lives-Chapter 5
Misty's POV
Where is she?
The boys, and me, Leaf and May have been looking for Dawn everywhere. Where in the world could she be? When she saw Paul she left. We were so stupid. We should have followed her.
I groaned silently. So stupid.
The girls and I knew Dawn had it the hardest when it came to the boys. Not only did she get major heartbreak from Paul, but she got it from Drew too. Not in the romantic way, but Drew and Dawn were super close. You could mistake them for real siblings.
When the boys broke up with us, they did it all separately so we didn't know that the other girls got dumped too. When Paul was done with Dawn, she went to Drew in confusion and for comfort. She received even more harsh words from him. She was heartbroken. That was probably why May hates him even more.
May cut off my thoughts "Where could she be?"
My eyes searched quicker. This is not good. Who knows what could have happened to her?
I sneered at Gary. Especially with guys like him roaming this place.
I suddenly grew mad at the sight of him. This was their entire fault. What was wrong with them? Couldn't they at least feel guilty to what they did to us and leave us alone? Ignoring us would be even better.
Gary couldn't even notice our stressed faces and regardless of our frantic movements, he still made moves on Leaf.
"Leafy, where were you this whole time?"
"Do you want to come over after?"
"Leafy, why won't you look at me?"
Leaf had had enough. She gave him the scariest glare I ever saw and slapped him. Hard.
"OW!" Gary clutched his face.
Drew saw that and excused himself with a girl that he was dancing with and came over to our side. Great. Just fucking great. Again. Gary's fault. I swear, I will kill him when I find Dawn.
"What's your problem?" Drew snapped at Leaf.
Leaf gave him a disbelieving look. "Are you retarded? What's MY problem! Shouldn't I be asking YOU that?"
"You know he's not sober. Give him a break."
May shoved Gary into Drew. "We don't have time for this. Take him and get out of our faces."
Drew rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
He tried to support Gary on his shoulders. Gary's not so sober state didn't help.
"Dreeww, let goo."
"Get it together, man." Drew smacked him. He sighed. He took his cellphone out.
"Ash, come here. It's Gary."
NO. Gosh I hate Drew even more.
A few seconds later, Ash arrived and he looked at me in surprise. I looked away in disgust.
Okay, you guys are probably thinking that us girls are taking this way too seriously with the hating the guys thing. But if you were in our position you would be way less calm than us. Not only did the guys break up with us in the harshest way possible, they spread terrible rumors of us in school. They turned my own sisters against me. MY SISTERS. So basically because of them, everyone hated us. Even the freaking teachers. There's a lot more to it, but it's not good if I get madder than I am right now.
Leaf started to shake. "Oh my god, what if someone took her?" She started to freak out and pant. Red put a hand on her shoulder. "It's fine. We'll find her."
I smiled sympathetically at Leaf. Surprisingly, she was always the most emotional out of all of us.
Ash gave Leaf a confused look. "Took who?"
Drew gave Leaf the same look too. He scanned our group. "Hey, where's Daw-"
"None of your business" May shot.
Drew's eyes widened. "She's gone?"
"Like you would care." I sneered.
Drew glared at us. "Of course I care."
May gave him a disgusted look. "YOU CARE?!"
Brandon grabbed her shoulders. "Calm down, May."
I looked at Kenny, Barry and Lucas. They seemed more panicked than Leaf.
"We're gonna go look for her."
"Alright, split up?" I asked.
Rudy looked at me. "No way. You girls cannot go alone." He glared at Drew, Ash, and Gary. "Especially since there are not so trustworthy guys here."
Drew snorted. "I wouldn't be talking."
I ignored him. "Alright, then let's hurry up."
Barry, Kenny and Lucas split up. Rudy tagged along with me, Red with Leaf, and Brandon with May.
I pushed past people, scanning every single corner. Rudy was holding my hand as we searched.
I started to grow desperate. "DAWN! DAWN!"
I felt Rudy squeezing my hand. "We'll find her."
I nodded hesitantly.
I rubbed my temple. "Ugh…"
Rudy looked at me worriedly. "Are you okay, Misty?"
"Uh, I think I need to sit down for a bit."
This whole day has just been a big stress bomb that exploded ever since the boys appeared.
We went to the nearest bar and I sat down on one of the stools with Rudy next to me.
"One glass of water please." Rudy said to the bartender.
Rudy handed me the water. I took a sip. I smiled weakly at him. "Thanks."
He grinned softly. "No problem."
I stood back up. "Let's go searching again."
Rudy pulled me back down to the seat. "Rest a little Misty. I can see how stressed you are. Release some steam and we can go searching again."
I stood back up. "Are you kidding? I can't just sit and rest while Dawn is missing and could be in serious trouble."
Rudy sighed. "You're right. I'm sorry. I'm just worried about you as well."
He took my hand and we started to search again.
We started to ask other people in the club. "Have you seen a blunette around here somewhere?"
We either got ignored, hit on, or received no news.
Ugh. This club isn't even that big. Where could she be?
Then something hit me. What if she wasn't even in the club?
"Holy crap."
Rudy looked at me. "What?"
"What if Dawn left the club?"
Rudy stared at me with wide eyes. "Do you think she just left the club without telling you guys?"
I contemplated that for a few seconds. No. Dawn would have definitely told us if she was leaving the club.
"Do you think she got kidnapped!?" I panicked. I started to pace. "I mean, Leaf said that too, but there's so many people here. It would be impossible for a kidnapper to take her without people seeing her struggling, right? And Dawn can be super loud and-"
Rudy interrupted me. "MISTY! Calm down."
I breathed in. "You're right."
I started to think. My eyes wandered to the bar. Then it hit me.
"Oh, no." I muttered.
"What's wrong?" Rudy asked.
I looked at him with a panicked expression. "Alcohol."
His eyes widened. Drinks. Alcohol. Dawn was terrible at drinking. But. She would never drink. Unless…Forced? No. Again, too much people. Spiked? Possible. Persuaded? Again, Possible. The possibility of Dawn being given alcohol started to grow.
"Is she a good drinker?"
I shook my head. Rudy started to get a worried expression.
"Well, that's not good."
"Obviously." I started to pace again. "Holy crap, holy holy holy crap. This is bad. This is really bad. Really really bad.
"I need to tell the girls." I said.
Rudy nodded. "Okay. I'll call the guys." He whipped out his cellphone and pressed buttons and told everyone to meet up.
"They're coming."
I nodded.
"Misty!" I heard a voice. I turned around.
"Leaf!"
"What happened?"
"Do you think Dawn drank?"
Leaf's mouth gaped. "No way. Dawn can't drink though. She knows that herself."
May caught up to us. "Guys, what's up?"
We explained everything to her.
"Well, I mean, if Dawn did drink, she would drink the less stronger alcohol. She's totally fine with those drinks."
I nodded. "It would be fine if Dawn drank the not-so-strong alcohol but what if you know…"
May's expression grew angry. "Unless someone spiked it."
"Exactly."
Leaf looked panicked. "Okay, then what are we doing here? Let's go look for her already!"
"She might not even be in the club, Leaf."
"Are you saying someone kidnapped her?"
"You never know. She's nowhere to be found."
Rudy interrupted us. "What if some of us stay here and some of us go out and look for her?"
"Alright."
"Barry, Lucas and Kenny, you guys stay in the club. Leaf and Red, go back to campus to see if she went back home. Me, Rudy, Brandon and May can go out and search for her in the city." I said.
We all nodded.
"Let's go."
Leaf dragged Red and ran towards the entrance to get to the cars. Kenny, Barry and Lucas split up and started to search again. Me, May, Brandon and Rudy split up and searched for the exits.
Rudy and me wandered around, looking for the exit sign.
"Where are the stupid exits!?" I mumbled.
We pushed past people, trying to get a better sight of the walls.
"Here, let me just ask someone." I told Rudy.
I tapped a random person on the shoulder. "Could you tell us where the nearest exit is, please?"
The person turned around. Oh no. Fate hates me.
"Of course I ca-Misty?"
Ash frickin Ketchum.
"Sorry, wrong person." I muttered, and turned away.
"I can show you the exit." Ash called out to me.
Rudy whispered into my ear. "Let's just ask him. The faster we get to the exit, the better."
I sighed. "Alright."
Rudy looked back at Ash. "Show us the way."
Ash nodded. We followed him to the back of the club and pointed us to the exit sign.
"Thanks." I said stiffly.
He nodded. He went to the door and was about to open the door for us when suddenly; there was a loud noise. There were sounds of punching and groans.
"What the hell?" Ash muttered.
He swiftly opened the door and the sight made me gasp.
It was Dawn. She was crying and had blood trickling the side of her face. She had scrapes on her legs and arms, her clothes were messy and her top was pulled up to her chest. She was leaning against the wall behind her.
The scene next to her made my eyes widen. It was Paul and some random guy fighting. Paul had a grip on the guy's collar, had him pushed against the wall and repeatedly was punching him. The guy's glasses were broken and he was groaning.
I couldn't move. My body was glued to its place. Ash's voice cut me out of my shock.
"PAUL!"
The purple-haired boy ignored him and kept punching the boy with the glasses.
Ash ran up to Paul and pulled him off the boy. The boy slumped to the ground, moaning.
Paul was seething with anger and was about to kick him until Ash restrained him. "STOP!"
I ran to Dawn. "Oh my god. Dawn." I started to cry at her injured state.
Rudy was right behind me. "Oh no." He muttered.
I hugged Dawn. She started to cry even more.
I heard Rudy talking on his phone.
A couple of seconds later I saw May, Brandon, Kenny, Barry and Lucas sprint towards us. May ran towards Dawn.
"NO, WHO WAS THE FUCKING BASTARD" Tears were springing up in her eyes as she angrily shouted. She went to the boy who was groaning on the ground and started to kick him. "I WILL KILL YOU"
Brandon had to stop her from hurting the boy too much. A few seconds later, I heard Leaf and Red run up to us. Leaf was already crying as she ran to us. She flung herself at Dawn. "Dawn, oh my gosh."
There were loud footsteps coming our way.
"Ash, what the heck is going on?"
We looked up. It was Drew. He had his cellphone in one hand and another hand was gripping the door and he was panting. He looked at all of us and spotted Dawn. His eyes widened. He ran up to us.
"DAWN!"
I glared at him. "Fuck off."
He looked worriedly at Dawn and his gaze hardened at us.
He took one more look at Dawn and turned away.
He spotted the boy on the ground, gave him a glare full of hatred and gave him one last hard kick.
I looked back at Dawn. Her crying stopped but she was still shaking. I growled at the hurt state of Dawn. I gently pulled her shirt down and fixed her clothes. I heard Leaf whisper. "Thank god she wasn't r-r-a…" She didn't finish her sentence.
"We need to take her back home." I said.
Everyone nodded. I let Barry gently pick up Dawn and he followed Leaf and Red to the car. I saw Paul discreetly look at Dawn. Hm. I sighed. I guess I should thank him for helping Dawn. Who knows what that creep could have done to her.
Lucas, Kenny, Brandon and Rudy went to go get the cars to go home. Before me and May followed them, I stepped up to Paul.
"Thank you for helping Dawn." I said. "Thank you so much." May said.
He nodded.
Ash looked at me. "We'll handle this guy." He gestured to the boy who was still moaning in pain on the ground.
"Thanks." I avoided eye contact.
May tugged on my arm.
"Um…I guess we'll see you back home." I said, awkwardly, and May and me left.
"See you." I heard someone whisper.
