Our Crazy Lives- Chapter 6

Ash's POV

"See you," I whispered back.

When the girls disappeared, Drew turned on Paul, "What the hell happened?"

Paul spat at the boy lying on the ground. "That bastard happened."

"Are we gonna just leave him here?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm not taking my time to make sure he's fine." Paul snapped.

"Did he try to-"

"Yeah. But it won' t happen again." Paul interrupted. "She's fine now and it's over. Let's go home. Get Gary." And with that he entered the club again.

Drew sighed. "Let's go Ash."

I nodded. I followed Drew and Paul into the club. We found Gary slumped on a chair at a bar. Paul grabbed him. "We're leaving. Get up."

Hearing Paul's voice, Gary shot up. He smiled as he saw us. "GUUYSS! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!"

"We're leaving."

Gary stood up. "WHAAAATT!?" Then he looked at his surroundings, and his voice suddenly changed. "Yeah, let's leave."

I raised my eyebrow. First time Gary didn't struggle. Drew seemed surprised too. I looked at Paul. He stared at Gary questioningly but shrugged it off.

"Alright then. Let's go." Drew said. He looked at Paul and me. "I'll go with Gary in his car."

Paul nodded. "Let's go." He directed towards him.

I followed him.

We arrived at the car. We hopped in and drove back to the campus.

The drive home was silent.

When we arrived to the house, I scanned the house. The lights on the girls' side of the house were all on. A few seconds later, Gary's car appeared with Drew driving. Drew came out, supporting Gary with one shoulder.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go in," Drew said.

I went to the other side of Gary and supported him.

Paul opened the door for us. We stumbled in.

We heard loud voices. "MAY CALM DOWN."

"Ugh, whatever. I'm going to get water. Let's go down."

Leaf and May came down the staircase, arguing.

"We need to go and find out who it is so we can report him." May said.

"It's fine May. He can rot on the ground for all I care." Leaf retorted back.

They stopped when they saw us. I quickly glanced at their faces. Leaf's eyes were red and puffy with some of her makeup smudged. May's face was red and her makeup was a little bit smudged as well.

Surprisingly, even though they had makeup running down their faces, they looked extremely pretty.

"You guys look nice." I widened my eyes. The words had slipped out of my mouth.

May's eyebrows rose. "Are you insulting us?"

"N-NO!" I desperately said. "You guys actually look nice."

Leaf gave me a small smile.

"How's Dawn?" I asked.

Leaf sighed. "She's okay. She's strong."

I looked at Paul. His expression looked…relieved?

Suddenly, there were footsteps coming down the stairs. Misty. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. Even though the other girls were very pretty, Misty was the most beautiful in my eyes. Like the other girls, she stopped when she us.

She glanced at me. Our eyes met. She looked down. She spoke to Leaf and May. "I finally got her to sleep."

They nodded.

Leaf stepped up to us. "Uh, I never got to thank you for earlier." She looked at Paul.

He nodded. "No need."

She nodded back. There was an awkward silence. "Well, you guys should probably get to sleep. It's pretty late." Misty said.

"Thank god tomorrow is the weekend." Drew said. He glared at Gary who was passed out on me and Drew.

Leaf rolled her eyes at Gary. "Well, goodnight."

The girls left to the kitchen.

I looked at the staircase then back at Gary. "Well, it's gonna take a while to get up."

"Or you could just take the elevator." Paul rolled his eyes.

I scratched my head. "Right."

Drew and me hauled Gary to the elevator and Paul followed us in.

We dropped Gary off in his room and went to our own rooms. I took off my shirt and pants and replaced my pants with loose sweatpants. I didn't bother for a shirt.

I flopped down on my bed and stared at the ceiling.

No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn't believe it. What were the chances to see the girls again? Let alone staying in the same house. I took it for a sign. A second chance. Well, maybe for me.

The bet we made was stupid. Everything I did was stupid.

I shook my head. No. I can't blame anyone. Not Gary, not Drew, not anyone. I could have said no. But I didn't. None of us did.

This is the time. My second chance.

And with that, I fell asleep.

Next Morning

I felt a punch on my shoulder. I groaned out in pain. "W-What the hell" I slowly opened my eyes to see Paul looking down on me. "Wake up."

"Ugh, what time is it?"

"It's already 11, idiot." Paul said.

"11!? That's so early! Come on, it's the weekend! We had a rough night too."

"Whatever. Wake up." Paul retorted, and then left my room.

"Ugh." I rolled my eyes and forced myself out of the bed.

I walked out of my room to see Drew slowly making his way out of his room as well.

"Fuck you, man." Drew said to Paul.

Paul smirked. "Well, one of you guys get Gary. I'm not waking him."

Drew and me groaned. No one wanted to wake Gary up. Especially if he drank the night before.

I looked at Drew quickly and made an excuse. "Oh man, I'm hungry, I'm gonna get a quick breakfast, BYE!" And with that I ran down the hallway and the staircase.

"You're gonna get it, Ketchum!" I heard Drew yell.

I ran to the kitchen. Even though it was an excuse, I was actually really hungry. Well, I was most of the time. When I reached the kitchen my feet stopped.

There, clad in nothing but loose short pajama shorts and a short tank top was Misty, drinking a glass of orange juice.

"Uh…Uh…" was all that came out of my mouth.

Misty whipped her head to me in surprise. She choked on her orange juice.

"Misty!" I took a step towards to her.

She coughed and finally found her voice. "Ash, what the hell! You scared me!"

I grinned sheepishly. "Sorry for scaring you."

She didn't look at me. "It's fine."

She picked up her glass of orange juice and walked towards me, to get out of the kitchen. When she saw me, her eyes widened and her face turned red.

What the heck? I touched my face. Was there something on my face? Then I looked down. Oh. I was still wearing loose sweatpants and no shirt.

Misty quickly walked past me. When she passed me I heard something.

"Put a fucking shirt on." She mumbled.

I scowled at myself. This was a terrible start to my second chance. First day and she's already swearing. Then I hit myself on the head. Of course she's swearing, the girls hate us!

I stood there stupidly until a voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Ashy boy!" I groaned at the voice. I turned around and saw Drew and Gary.

"Hi Gary." I said blandly.

"Someone didn't have a good night." Gary grinned and he put an arm around my shoulder.

I gave him a disbelieving look. "Shouldn't I be saying that to you?"

He waved his hand. "Nah, I had worse than that. Yesterday was weak."

I rolled my eyes but I had to agree with him.

Then Gary groaned. "Ugh, why did Paul wake us up so early."

Drew shrugged. "Well, it's a surprise we're not used to it. He does it all the time."

Gary scowled. "I don't even know why we're always so up this early."

"You need to get used to it." Paul made his way to the kitchen. He opened the fridge. Then he closed it.

"You're not getting anything, Paul?" I asked.

"No food." He replied and sat on one of the chairs.

I stood there, stunned. "WHAT! NO FOOD!?"

"There's orange juice and milk if you want it." Paul said.

Behind me, Drew and Gary chuckled. "Relax Ash, we'll go out and today."

"And then we're getting food" I muttered.

Drew patted me on the back. "Let's go get ready."

I nodded. I sprinted up the stairs with Drew chuckling in the back.

"I guess we should go get ready too." I heard him say.

I dashed into my room and threw on a plain grey tee and track pants. I quickly combed my hair and then threw on a thin black jacket.

I hurried into Drew's room. He had on a white shirt with jeans. He was currently brushing his hair and putting his jacket on.

He looked at me. "You need to learn to knock, Ash."

I laughed nervously. "Ehehe, sorry about that."

He shook his head while grinning. "Let's go."

Gary came out in a black shirt with grey sweatpants.

Paul walked up to us. "It was about time you got ready."

Paul was wearing a dark blue shirt with grey sweatpants.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go eat!" I exclaimed.

I shot down the staircase and headed for the doors.

"Hurry up guys!" I called out.

"Ding." The elevator doors opened, and out stepped Drew, Paul and Gary.

"You could have used the elevator, Ashy." Gary laughed.

"Someone's eager for breakfast." Drew snickered.

"You guys are probably hungry too!" I defended.

"Yeah, yeah, let's go." Paul walked past me to open the doors.

The morning sun shone brightly. I had to cover my eyes. "Let's go eat breakfast!" I grinned.

"Well, technically, it's brunch. It's already like 11:40." Drew stated.

"Whatever. Let's hurry up and go eat." Paul said, flatly.

I took a step to Paul's car to get in but, just then, the doors to the house opened and out stepped out the girls. I stood in place and couldn't help but stare. I mean, I just couldn't help it. Especially since Misty was one of them.

I scanned the girls quickly. May was wearing a light red shirt with cropped black sweatpants. Her hair was up in a ponytail with a bandana tied around her head. Leaf was wearing a loose orange shirt with grey leggings and her hair was in pigtails. Dawn had her hair in a braid and was wearing a white tank top and cropped light grey sweatpants. And finally, Misty had her hair in a side ponytail and was wearing a light yellow tank top with blue athletic shorts.

While looking, my eyes met with Misty. I quickly looked away.

"Good morning girls!" Gary shouted to them, waving. Leaf raised her eyebrow in disbelief, Misty scowled, May squeezed her lips together and Dawn looked at the ground.

"Good morning." May said through clenched teeth.

The girls quickly walked past us and went to one of their cars. Dawn quickly went to Paul. She was looking down at the ground. "Thank you for yesterday." She didn't look at him. He gave her a short nod. She looked down and briskly walked toward the other girls.

When the girls left, Gary looked us questioningly. "What did I miss? How did you get Dawn to talk to you?"

Paul ignored him and went in the car, taking the driver's seat.

"She barely talked to him, Gary." Drew stated.

"So? She said something." Gary argued.

I sighed. "We'll explain later."

Drew nodded. "Ash needs his brunch. Let's go."

Gary gave in and entered the car. "Alright, but tell me. I don't like not knowing anything."

"We know, Gary."

Paul drove to the city, we roamed the streets, with me looking for a place to eat.

"Let's go there!" I pointed to a restaurant on the corner. Paul pulled over and we exited the car and entered the restaurant. The moment we entered the restaurant, we were jumped on.

"Oh my gosh, you guys are here too!?" A girl with long brownish hair was about 2 inches away from my face. I gently pushed her away, uncomfortable. "Uh, who are you?"

She widened her eyes. "You don't know my name!?" She batted her eyelashes. "My name is Melody."

She started to come closer to me. I moved away, uncomfortable. "Uh…nice name?" I said. She smiled widely. "You think so? I think so too."

I looked to Paul and Drew for help. Turns out that they were busy themselves. I looked at Gary.

Help me.

He smirked at my discomfort. "Uh, miss lady?" Gary tapped the girl on the shoulder.

"WHAT?" She snapped at Gary. But when she saw his face, her mouth gaped. "Oh, I'm sorry. What do you need?"

Gary flashed her a smile. "My friend is very hungry here. He can talk to you later. He pulled me towards him. "Bye, uh…"

"Melody" She gave him a bright smile.

"Uh, yeah, whatever." Gary said.

"Bye Ash!" Melody said.

"Uh, yeah." How the hell does she know my name?

He quickly did the same thing with the girls attached on Paul and Drew.

"See you later, Mr. Drew!" A girl with reddish hair said.

I stifled my laughter and looked at Drew. "Mr.?"

He shoved me. "Whatever. She's weird. But she's cute." Drew said.

Paul grunted. "You mean annoying."

Gary then pouted. "How come there was no girl for me?"

I scratched my head. "Seriously Gary?"

He punched me playfully. "Ha, no way man. I'm kidding. Those girls look way too clingy." He shuddered.

"Says the player." Paul mumbled.

Gary frowned. "Hey, you have to admit I've gotten better."

Drew snorted. "Yeah, better as in the same."

Gary elbowed Drew. "Shut up man. I have standards."

Drew, Paul, and me gave him an unimpressed look. "Okay, Gary. Whatever you say." Drew said.

"Well, I'm hungry. Let's hurry up and eat." I said.

We quickly ordered out food and started to eat. Then Gary's head shot up from his plate.

"Oh yeah, what happened yesterday that I didn't know about?"

It grew silent.

"Paul?" Gary looked at Paul expectantly.

Paul ignored him and continued to eat.

Gary crossed his arms. "You guys better tell me. Like I told you, I don't like not knowi-"

Drew groaned. "We know Gary. You can't go spreading this around."

Gary rolled his eyes. "I might like girls a lot but that doesn't mean I can't keep secrets. You know I can at least do that."

I nodded in agreement. Contrary to his personality, Gary didn't let secrets get out of him.

"Dawn was almost ra-," He hesitated. "No, she was attacked yesterday, at the club. Paul took care of the guy. So she thanked him. End of story." Drew said.

Gary nodded. I looked at him. He understood what Drew meant. He didn't push for more information.

We quickly finished our food and left the restaurant and hopped in the car to head back to the mansion.

"Wait! We need to go to the supermarket!" I cried.

"Ash, come on. We just ate!" Drew complained.

"We need food in the kitchen. There's a kitchen and a fridge for a reason." I argued.

"Shut up and sit down properly. We're going for food." Paul grumbled.

I grinned.

We arrived at the closest supermarket. We hastily picked a cart and we started to dump the food we liked into the cart.

We were in the cereal section in the supermarket when we saw them. The girls were laughing and hauling 2 carts full of food while picking cereal. I looked at their carts and then ours. We had 2 carts as well. That made 4 carts. And they were all pretty packed with food. How were we going to fit all this food in the fridge and pantry?

I looked at the guys who sensed the same problem.

"Uh, guys. We have a problem." I told them.
"No dip, Sherlock." Paul said.

"We can't fit all that in the kitchen." Drew stated.

"We have to tell them to cut back on their groceries." Gary said.

"No way am I talking to them." Drew said.

Paul growled. "You can't make me."

"I mean, I would, but they'd probably tell me to fuck off." Gary said.

Drew muffled his laugh. "They probably would."

"We could just empty our cart." Paul said.

"They wouldn't let us share their groceries. Plus, they probably have none of my favorites!" I said.

"Fine, you go tell them our problem." Paul said.

I looked at the girls nervously. "Why me?"

"Because you're complaining about your food."

"I'm not complaining, it's a legitimate reason! What if they don't share? Then we seriously have no groceries!"

"We can go out."

I sighed. There was no way I could convince Drew and Paul to talk to the girls. And they probably wouldn't even look at Gary.

"Fine."

I slowly walked up to them. Their backs were turned away from us.

Ugh, why couldn't they just have fewer groceries?

Wait, maybe this could be the start of my second chance? Yeah. Second chance.

Second chance. Second chance. Second chance. I kept repeating that in my head as my hand reached out and tapped the shoulder of a familiar redhead.
