Anyway, onward with the story!

O.o.O.o.O

It was Sunday, six days since Clary had arrived home.

"So what's going on with your dad?" Izzy asked.

"Moms away right now at court. They're working hard on putting him away, Jonathan hasn't stepped up yet for either of them. So I'm not sure yet." Clary said, shrugging.

Izzy and Emma nodded.

"Anyway, I'm going to school tomorrow." Clary said.

"Are you sure?" Izzy asked

"Yes. If I want to graduate, I have to go back. I have so much work so catch up on." Clary said, laying back on her bed.

"But what about everyone?" Emma asked, picking at gum that was stuck on her boots with a knife.

"Don't get that everywhere. I'll be fine. I promise. I don't care what anyone thinks anymore. I just want to graduate with all of you and carry on with my life." Clary said, smiling.

"Okay, okay." Izzy said, sighing but smiling.

Clary tapped her finger on her leg, biting her lip.

"Yeah, yeah. We get it. You want to go and see Jace. We'll go." Emma said, rolling her eyes.

"Love you guys." Clary said, jumping off the bed.

"Maybe we'd believe that if you could spend more than 2 hours with us!" Izzy called after her.

Clary pulled up to Jace's house. Jackie wasn't home, but Jace was. She tried knocking but there was no answer, so she tried the door and it was unlocked.

As soon as she walked I to the house she heard the sweet sounds of a piano. She followed it to the room where she first found Jace playing. His back bent over the keys as he played. His long, slender fingers moving delicately over the keys. This time he didn't get frustrated and bash the keys. This time her played the song out to the end, the notes drifting in the air between them.

"That was beautiful." Clary said.

Jace started, surprised by her sudden appearance.

"God, Angel. You gave me a heart attack!" He exclaimed, but his easy smile on his lips.

"It's my stunning good looks." She said sarcastically.

He smiled slyly at her, "I think my ego is rubbing off on you."

"Probably is."

Clary walked over to him, closing the lid to cover the keys and sat down in front of him. This time Jace had to look up to her, he placed his hands on her thighs.

"What are we doing tomorrow, Angel?" Jace asked, running his hands down to her knees.

He kissed her neck lightly.

"School." She answered, running her finger over his collar bone.

Jace stopped and pulled back, looking in her eyes.

"What?" He asked.

She sighed, grabbing his hands.

"I need to go back to school. I need to graduate. You need to as well. And I want to, with all my friends. Then," she kissed him lightly, "we get to move away." She said, her lips brushing against his.

He smiled against her lips, then picked her up. She smiled at him and hitched her ankles together.

"Where are we going to move?" Jace asked.

"To be honest, I don't know. I just wanted to find the right place. A nice, cute little house or apartment. Then somewhere I can get a job, and sell my paintings. And you, well, what are you going to do?" Clary asked.

Jace sat her down on the bed, sitting next to her.

"I was thinking of starting my own business." Jace said, laying down.

"You were?" Clary asked, leaning her elbow on his chest.

"Yeah. Like-like a gym, then run a class for kickboxing and self defence." Jace said.

She smiled broadly at him, "that's actually a fucking fantastic idea." Clary said.

He smiled proudly, "I know, Angel. I know."

She rolled her eyes, and laid on his chest.

"Do you want any pets?" Jace asked, his hand resting on her hip.

"Yes. 3." Clary answered, rubbing her hand over his chest.

"Well, what are they?" Jace asked, his hand rubbing her hip.

"I want a sausage dog. Named peanuts."

"A sausage dog? Oh, a Dachshund. Okay, what else?"

"You just accept that? Well, good. And I want a cat. Named Fredrick. And I want Fredrick and Peanuts to be bestfriends." Clary said.

Jace laughed, a real laugh, "my god, Angel."

"What? And finally, I want a turtle."

"And what's the turtles name?" Jace asked, rolling onto his side to face her.

"Mr T."

Jace laughed again, "so it's Peanuts, Fredrick, and Mr T."

"Yup." She said, grinning up at him.

Jace jumped off the bed.

"We are going to the pet store." Jace said.

"So buy something?" Clary asked shocked.

"No. To have a look, Angel."

They arrived at the pet store down the road. There was lizards, snakes, birds, fish, turtles, kittens, puppies, and the store owner had a lorikeet sitting on her shoulder.

Jace grabbed Clary's hand and led her over to all the puppies. There was German Shepard's, Labradors and Jack Russles. Clary went straight for the German Shepard's. She bent over and pet them.

"Aw, they're so cute!" She cooed.

Jace crouched beside her and pet the one that was jumping up to him.

"I think he likes you." Clary said.

The store owner-Candy- walked over and smiled, "want to have a play?" She asked.

Clary nodded eagerly.

The woman let out the single puppy that was going crazy over Jace.

Clary giggled at the puppy walked over and snuffled her hair. Jace scratched it's back, making it crumple to the ground, rolling over. It jumped around, batting playfully at them, and yapping playfully and running in circles. It was absolutely obsessed with Jace, sitting in his lap and constantly snuffling him, licking him.

"I'm getting jealous." Clary said, pouting.

Jace grinned at her and leaned over kissing her softly. But before anything else happened the puppy nosed in between them.

"Cock blocker." Jace murmured.

Clary laughed.

"Wait here for a second, Angel." Jace said, standing up.

The puppy played with Clary and a squeaky toy she had. She looked around for Jace but couldn't spot him.

10 minutes later Jace walked back with a guilty smile on his face and hands behind his back.

"Jace...you didn't!" Clary said, holding the German Shepard puppy.

Jace held his hands out a collar, and lead in his hand. The collar was one of those leather ones with all the metal spikes poking out of it, and a black leather lead.

"You bought him!" Clary said in disbelief.

"I've always wanted a dog. Clary meet Aussie. Aussie meet Clary." Jace said, grinning.

"Aussie..."

"I've always wanted to go to Australia. Apparently his from Australia as well. Some prestigious breeder over there." Jace said, putting the collar on the puppy.

"Suits him." Clary said, laughing as Aussie chewed on his lead.

They snuck back to Clary's house. Her house was bigger and easier to hide a puppy. Jace picked Aussie up at they walked into the house. Clary carefully closed the front door.

"We'll grab some water first." Clary whispered, leading the way to the kitchen.

She didn't hear the voices early enough, before her and Jace walked into the kitchen were her mother and Jackie were standing, talking. They both looked over at the same time.

Jace blew his cheeks out, blowing air out slowly.

Clary bit her lip, "this isn't what it looks like." Clary said, tapping her lip.

Her mom raised her eyebrows, while Jackie shook her head.

"Tell me you guys didn't buy a puppy." Jocelyn said, pressing her finger to her temple.

"Ummmm, no?" Jace said smiling sheepishly.

"Are you lying.." Jackie said, raising her eyebrows.

"It depends on his you define lying." Jace said.

"I define it as not telling the truth. How do you define it?" Jackie said.

"Reclining your body in a horizontal position?" Jace said, trying to smile.

Clary chocked on a laugh, rubbing her hand over her mouth.

Jackie and Jocelyn both shook their heads.

"Okay. Okay. We bought a puppy." Clary said, throwing her hands up.

"What's his name?" Jocelyn asked.

"Aussie." Jace provided, with a smile.

"I thought you wanted a Dachshund? Named peanuts..." Jocelyn said to Clary.

"I do! This is Jace's dog." Clary said with a smile.

"My god..." Jackie said softly.

"Okay. Okay. Whatever. But it's your responsibility! Both of yours! You clean up after it! It stays outside, theres a huge yard out there. You feed it. Bath it. Play with it. Whatever you need to do with puppies." Jocelyn said, pointing her fingers at them.

"And when you guys move out, you leave the yard clean. Don't leave Jocelyn to clean up." Jackie added.

Clary's eyes widened, her lips twitched.

"Oh god, you guys are clueless. We've heard you two talking about moving away after school." Jocelyn said shaking her head.

"And you accept it?" Clary asked in disbelief.

"Let me put it this way. I thought I was in love with your father. I wasn't. It was lust, but I called it love. What you guys have it's-it's-"

"Real love." Jackie provided helpfully.

Jocelyn smiled at Jackie, "exactly."

Clary eyed both of them, "since when are you two the best of friends?" Clary asked.

Jackie and Jocelyn smiled at each other, "for a while." Jackie said.

Clary rolled her eyes, "whatever. We will be upstairs."

"We need to talk tomorrow, about your father." Jocelyn said.

Clary nodded, then her and Jace headed up the stairs.

"Your not taking Aussie up there!" Jocelyn exclaimed.

"Yes. Yes. We are. We're not going to leave him out in the cold on his first night!" Clary said.

"Oh, whatever." Jocelyn said, shaking her head.

Clary shut her door and Jace set Aussie down. She opened up the balcony to let fresh air in. Aussie ran around crazily, yapping and panting.

Clary collapsed on her bed, Jace next to her.

"You just bought a puppy..." Clary processed.

"I think I'm regretting it already..." Jace groaned as Aussie ran away with his shoe.

Clary laughed, "it's like a child but with endless energy." She observed.

"What have we gotten ourselves into..." Jace moaned as Aussie knocked over a lamp and then backed up into a bedside table.

Clary leaned over Jace, slinging her leg over his stomach, "just ignore him for a moment." Clary whispered, leaning in closer.

Jace bit his lip his lip, and his hand grabbed her thigh, "fine by me." He whispered.

Clary closed the gap. They kissed each other soft and slowly, but Jace soon deepened it. He grabbed Clary's butt and pulled her onto him. Clary broke the kiss with a gasp, Jace grinned at her. She curled her fingers into his hair, leaning forward to seal their lips, when a big snout broke them apart.

Clary squealed and rolled off Jace, and Aussie jumped into her lap, looking happy with himself. Jace still lay on the bed, looking disheveled.

He glared at the dog, "Aussie..." He said, shaking her head.

The puppy jumped onto him, making Jace laughing and pet his dog. Clary watched them with a huge grin on her face. She really was happy, everything was going to work out.
