Clary smiled widely as Izzy pinned her curls up, finally allowing her to stand.

"Alec! Get your ass out here!" Izzy yelled, touching up her lipstick.

The bathroom door cracked open and Alec's face appeared.

"Get out here now." Izzy ordered.

Alec stepped out, looking handsome in his suit. His pale blue eyes were bright and face full of colour.

"Oh, you look so handsome." Clary said.

Alec blushed and looked down at himself, brushing off his suit.

"Come. Tie." Izzy said, holding up the white tie.

Alec came forward, letting his sister do his tie. He was quiet but Clary could sense his excitement. Izzy stood back, brushing her brother down, smiling.

"Say something!" Izzy squealed.

Alec took a deep breath, "I'm getting married. I am getting married. Married! Getting married! Me! Married!" He said, his voice raising and raising, a smile growing on his face.

"You're getting married!" Clary and Izzy squealed.

Emma burst into the room, "I can't get this goddamn dress to zip up!" She yelled.

Clary laughed and helped her out.

The three girls stood there in their turquoise bridesmaid dress, their hair pinned up with small flowers littered in their hair. Alec stood there handsome in his black suit and white tie.

"Come on. Time to get married." Izzy said.

Clary and Jace first walked down, side by side and split off, standing facing each other, smiling. Then Izzy and Simon, then Emma and Jules. Finally Alec and Magnus, arm in arm. Magnus wore a white suit and black tie, while Alec the opposite. Magnus always with his glitter and eye liner and spiked hair. But they both looked as happy as they could be, bright and smiling uncontrollably.

Alec leaned on Magnus a little and kept glance up at him, blushing, smiling and looking down again. Magnus was smiling widely, looking down as his soon to be husband.

Clary laughed and cried through the ceremony. She couldn't believe two of the most important people in her life were getting married. Then they were married. Slipping wedding bands on each other's fingers. They both smiled and cried happily, before kissing. Everyone was crying and laughing and smiling. Clary had never seen so many smiles, never felt so much happiness in one room.

She looked over at Jace and found his golden eyes trained on her. A wide smile spread across his face and Clary grinned back, wiping away tears. His eyes held something, something she'd never seen before. He winked at her before turning back to Magnus and Alec.

The reception was beautiful. Full of people, cheering and congratulating the now married Magnus and Alec.

"Oh, I can't believe you're married!" Clary squealed, pulling the both of them into a hug.

Alec bit his lip and played with his ring as Magnus held him in his arms. Alec looked up at Magnus and blushed, looking away again.

"I swear you two telepathically communicate." Emma said, shaking her head, smiling.

Everyone danced and ate and joked, giving their speeches. Izzy was completely smashed when she gave hers, Clary was slightly tipsy and Emma was fine, she was the only one who could hold her alcohol well. Simon, Jace and Jules all seemed tipsy and ended up doing karaoke.

"I'm not in love with him." Clary muttered, shaking her head.

"I may be drunk but that is horrible." Izzy said, raising an eyebrow.

Emma just sighed and shook her head.

It was nearing the end on the night and Clary and Jace ended up dancing to a few slow songs. Clary comfortably wrapped her arms around his neck, placing her head on his chest, as he held her close around the waist. She breathed in the familiar scent of him, relaxing in his arms as they swayed.

"Angel." Jace whispered.

She looked up at him and he kissed her lightly.

"I love you." Jace whispered.

"I love you, too." Clary said, smiling.

She stared into his golden eyes as he stared into her emerald ones.

"Guess what?" He whispered.

"What?" She whispered.

"One day. That'll be us." Jace said, pointing to where Alec and Magnus stood.

They both held each other hands, playing with their wedding rings, pecking each other on the lips.

Clary held Jace tighter, "good." She whispered

*3 weeks later*

Clary sat on her stool, painting on her easel in her art room. Aussie was laying in the sun the windows provided. The room was filled with her paintings and sketches and bare canvases. The whole room the smell of paint. Light bathed the room, coming from the floor to ceiling windows.

"Angel." Jace's voice came from the doorway.

Clary turned and smiled, "hey, Jacey." She said, turning back to her painting.

Jace came up beside her, placing his hand on the small of her back, watching her as she painted. He did this a lot, sometimes even pulled up another stool and watched her for hours. She loved when he did.

"I've got to go to work for a little while." Jace whispered.

Clary set her paint brush down, "do you have too?" She asking, pouting.

Jace smiled, "how do expect me to keep my business up and running if I don't?" He asked.

Clary wrapped her arms around his waist, "I know." She mumbled.

She loved that Jace had his own business. He owned and gym and taught a few classes himself. But there was one thing she didn't like.

"What's wrong?" Jace asked, tipping her chip up to face him.

"I don't like some of the girls in your classes." She murmured.

Jace smiled, "why?" He asked.

"They all flirt with you and act like idiots so you'll help them." She said.

"Guess what?" He said.

"What?"

"You're the only girl for me. Don't worry about those sluts." Jace whispered, kissing her lightly.

Clary smiled against his lips, "I'll see you at 5?" She asked.

"6. I have some paperwork to do as well." He said.

Clary sensed something but didn't say anything.

"Okay. I'll see you then." She said.

Jace kissed her again before leaving.

Clary sat on her stool and frowned. Jace had definitely just lied to her. He didn't have paperwork, she knew that much.

The past few days Jace had been acting weird. Leaving early and getting home late. It wasn't like him. But when he got home he was normal and loving. But the hours he was gone Clary sat there wondering why he was lying to her and what about.

"Hey, Angel." Jace said, joining her on the couch, letting Aussie head who lay at her feet.

It was his day off.

"Hey." She murmured, curling into his arms.

"You know that dark blue dress you have?" Jace asked.

"Yeah." Clary murmured.

"Can you wear that tonight?" He asked.

"Tonight? Why?" She asked.

"Surprise." He said, smiling.

Clary smiled back, but still felt upset. The fact that he had been hiding something from her was like a black cloud hanging over her head.

What if he's cheating?

Clary instantly pushed the thought from her mind. Jace would never do that. Would he?

"Okay." She said, snuggling into his warm body.

Clary got ready for the surprise. Wearing the dark blue dress as Jace instructed. She liked the dress it was tight in all the right places, with a long skirt making her look slightly taller. She slipped on a pair of black heels, clasping her necklace from Jace on and the earrings that match, securing the ring on her right hand.

"You ready, A-" Jace cut off as her walked into the room.

Clary stood in front of the massive mirror and saw Jace's dopey expression.

She turned and walked up to him, "you okay?" She asked with a small smile.

He smiled back, "you're just so beautiful, Angel." He whispered.

Clary blushed and looked down at her feet. No matter how many time he called here beautiful, it made her feel special and actually beautiful.

Jace slipped his fingers under her chin and lifted her face to his, kissing her softly, making her body tingle. No way he could be cheating on her. Just the way he kissed her, held up, looked at her. It was all filled with too much love.

"So, you ready?" He asked, smiling down at her.

"I am." She said, grinning.

She looked at Jace who was wearing a tux, looking a sexy as ever.

"A tux?" She asked, pulling on his tie.

Jace groaned and grabbed her hips, "don't do this to me now." He breathed.

"Do what?" She asked innocently, biting her lip and pushing herself against him.

Jace growled and grabbed her tightly, "when we get home I'll be ripping that dress off you so fast and-" he cut off with a moan, his golden eyes dark.

Clary ran a hand down his chest, "look forward to it." She teased, walking towards the front door, swaying her hips.

"Angel, stop doing this to me." He groaned, following her out the door.

Jace ended up taking her to a big, fancy, expensive restaurant that overlooked the huge river. They had a table right along the windows, looking out at the dark river. It was busy and bustling with activity and Clary liked it. The sound of conversations and the smell of food around her.

Jace seemed fidgety and kept worrying at the sleeve of his tux jacket.

"You alright?" Clary asked, placing her hand over Jace's, across the table.

Jace relaxed, "of course." He said and smiled.

They ordered their food and ate, talking and joking with each other as they always did. Never running out of things to talk about.

"Do you want dessert?" Jace asked.

"You know I'm a sucker for cake." Clary said, grinning.

Jace laughed and they ordered their dessert. Clary felt so happy, she loved spending nights like this with Jace. Everything perfect, no worry in the world.

"Clary, there's something-"

"Oh, Jace! Look!" Clary exclaimed, cutting him off.

Jace turned to where she was pointing across the room. A guy was proposing to a girl.

"Oh, that's so sweet!" Clary said, smiling.

The girl accepted, crying and hugged her fiancé.

"Yeah. Sweet." Jace said, his body becoming rigged.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Clary asked, clasping his hand.

"Yeah, too much to eat. Wanna get out of here?" Jace asked, his golden eyes wouldn't meet hers.

"Of course." She said.

Jace went and paid the bill and he led Clary out, arm in arm. The city was milling with people, even late at night. Jace led her to the small park across the road. There was people having midnight picnics, walking and reading. Clary never got over the city. People acted as if it were 2pm, when it was really past midnight.

Jace held Clary as they stood in front of some massive statue of a horse made out of horseshoes. He buried his head in the crook her neck, nuzzling into her curls. Clary loved when he was like this, so touchy and feely, especially out in public.

"Alright, tell me what's wrong." She said.

Jace pulled back, looking down at her, "it's nothing, Angel." He whispered.

"It obviously is. Tell me." She said.

"I just-I had something planned for tonight. Something big, and then that couple went and ruined it." Jace said, a small smile on his lips.

"What in the world are you talking about?" Clary asked, smiling back at him.

She gaped and her arms went slack as Jace started bending down onto one knee, reaching for his pocket.

"What are you doing?" Clary squeaked, her eyes wide.

Jace smiled widely at her and pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket.

"I have loved you since the day I met you, and I will continue to love you till the day I die, or if there's a life after that, I will love you then. I can't imagine my life without you. God knows where I'd be right now if I had never met you. You've made me an impossibly better person." Jace said, smiling impossibly wider.

Clary gasped, her hand flying to her mouth, tears forming in her eyes.

Jace popped the box open, revealing a sparkling ring, "Angel, will you marry me?"

Clary was frozen, one of her hands fluttering. This was what she had always dreamed of. Jace down on one knee, holding a sparkling ring, asking her to marry him.

"Angel?" Jace whispered, starting to looked panicked.

Clary snapped out of her daze, a smiling split across her face, "god! Yes! Yes! Jace, yes! Of course I will marry you!" She exclaimed, tears spilling out of her eyes in happiness.

Jace stood up and slipped the ring onto her ring finger, his hand shaking. Clary held a hand over her mouth, stifling a sob, she saw that tears glimmered in his eyes as well. She threw her arms around his, neck squeezing him tight as he squeezed her so tight he lifted her off the ground.

He set her down and kissed her. The kiss that she loved the most, soft, slow and passionate, portraying so much emotion through one kiss. They pulled back, smiling at each other and Clary only just registered the crowd that had gathered, smiling and clapping. Clary blushed and Jace grinned.

"I'm tempted to rip that dress off you now." Jace whispered in her ear.

She shivered, "let's get ourselves home then." She said, biting her lip.

"You drive me crazy, Angel." Jace moaned.

Jace was at work and Clary sat on the kitchen counter, admiring her engagement ring. She had been doing this for the last week. She could never stop staring at it. It was so beautiful. It was gold with a large diamond in the middle, surrounded by many more smaller diamonds around it and even very small rubies glittered, matching her other ring.

Jace had told Clary it had been passed down through his family, one of the only family heirlooms he had received. She always felt honoured that he had given her something so precious to him. Her engagement ring. It shocked her every time. She was engaged. She was getting married to Jace.

There was a knock at the front door, making her jump. She hoped off the counter and checked the roast that was in the oven and went to the front door. She fiddled with the chain, sliding it off and swinging the door open.

Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes widened.

"Hey, Clare Bear."

Clary could hardly believe what she was seeing and hearing. Her brother. Right in front of her. His near white hair and emerald eyes. He'd grown as well, taller and more muscular, and handsome.

"Jon." She choked out.

He stood there with a small smile, clutching his fingers.

"I-uh, uh, come in." Clary said, gesturing him in.

Jon shuffled in, standing awkwardly in the hall, waiting for her. She led him into the living room and sat down on one of the couches. Jon stayed standing, walking around the room slowly, looking at all the pictures that hung on the walls or sat throughout the room.

Clary felt immensely awkward. Her brother that she hadn't seen for nearly a year, was in her apartment, looking at photographs of her and Jace or her friends. He wouldn't even know she and Jace were still together, or together at all for that matter.

Aussie padded into the room and Jon stiffened.

"He's harmless. Come here, Aus." Clary said, patting the couch. Aussie jumped up beside her and she scratched his head.

"So you and Jace are together?" Jon asked, picking up a photo of her and Jace down at the beach.

"Yeah. After me and mom left he became my anchor, eventually, well, yeah." She said, playing with her engagement ring.

He smiled a sad smiled and set the picture down, finally sitting down across from Clary.

"You've grown up so much, Clary." He said, smiling.

"I'm not sure if I've necessarily grown up." She joked.

He laughed, "well you...look so much more mature. Older. I'd don't know, how to explain it."

"I know. So do you, except you actually are bigger." She said, smiling.

"How are you, Clary?" Jon asked.

"I'm really good. Me and Jace ju-"

Clary was cut off by the front door opening, she heard footsteps stumble down the hall and Jace's golden head appeared.

"How's my fianc-" Jace cut off, seeing Jon, his smiling disappearing.

"Jace, you remember Jon." Clary said, standing up.

Jace tensed all over and Clary clasped his arm with her hand.

"Wait. Was he just about to call you his fiancé!" Jon exclaimed.

His emerald eyes, traveled to Clarys left hand and widened at the sight of the massive ring on her finger.

"You're engaged!" Jon exclaimed.

"A lots changed since you've been gone. I've ended up in hospital twice. If you had been there I'm sure you'd understand a lot more." Clary spat, feeling instantly angry.

"Angel." Jace said softly, clasping her hand.

She relaxed and leaned into him, "sorry." She whispered to him.

His finger circled her ring and she relaxed more.

"I'm sorry, Clary. I have no reason to be angry, you do. I'm your brother and I abandoned you. I'm so sorry. I let you down, I didn't protect you when it came to dad-"

"Jon, stop. It's not your fault. I know he was hurting you as well. But he's out of the picture now, rotting in jail. Stay for dinner, we can catch up. Talk." Clary said, smiling a little at her brother.

Jon's eyes flicked to Jace who was actually taller then him.

"Stay, please." Jace said, his face softening from its glare.

Jon nodded, "okay
