AN: this is a special request that i thought was perfect. Thank you Moonling Child for the prompt. Will and Horace have been friends since childhood in this one. I don't own Ranger's Apprentice or High School Musical.
Will sat at his dining room table bored out of his mind. Horace sat opposite him, equally bored. Alyss and Cassandra were having a women's date with Pauline. Halt was on assignment, so it was just Will and Horace.
"Remember when we were kids, and we pretended we were saving the castle?" Horace asked.
"Oh no. Horace, don't remind me." Will groaned but really, he loved reminiscing about being a kid.
"Humor me Will." Horace said, "you were always the one who came up with plans while I bashed heads for you." Horace said smiling.
"Yeah, and we always got in trouble for disturbing the Baron." Will said, "Who would have thought that our fantasies would become even semi-real."
"Yeah. I was always a better hero than you were." Horace said grinning. Will shook his head and stood, and started making up a song out of boredom.
"Take it back to the place where you know it all began." Horace add-libbed with him,
"We could be anything we want to be." both of them sang together,
"you an tell by the noise that the boys are back again."they stood up and moved out onto the porch and stood back to back.]
"Together making history!" Horace said as the men performed their signature handshake.
"It's time to show how to be a super hero." Horace said as they sauntered down the steps,
"It's time to show down, Horace and Will together now." Will said and they sang together making ninja moves across the clearing.
"We're the best, no doubt. Doing it like we used to do." Horace mock covered Will as he shot down an unseen enemy with an air-bow.
"this is our town, we're telling you ohhhh!" They ran to the forest and pretended to slay enemies,
"The boys are back, the boys are back," they stopped and looked around then at each other,
"The boys are back, gonna do it again, gonna wake up the neighborhood!
The boys are back, the boys are back, climbing up the walls,
anytime we want, the word is out the boys are back!" Will and Horace moved closer to the castle but still stayed in the forest.
"The boys are back, gonna save the day, the boys are back, oh yeah." Will sang and motioned Horace forwards but first giving him a high-five.
"Keep dealing with the right when we fight every single time. Undefeated here in our house yeah!" Will said as they went onto the road towards the castle getting strange looks.
"We can rock, we can shock, anytime we like." Horace said wielding a stick as a fake sword, and Will another stick as a fake bow, "Tonight we're going all out!"
"It's time show how to be a super hero!" Will sang and killed an invisible enemy.
"Just like, show down, keep the pedal to the medal oh!" Horace echoed blocking an invisible strike to Will's head.
"We're the best no doubt! Doing it like we used to do!" They sang together hopping onto some crates, "This is our town, and we're telling you all!" They jumped down and got the villagers of Redmont to nod their heads and stomp their feet to the beat.

The boys are back, gonna do it again, gonna wake up the neighborhood!" they started going into the castle forgetting about the ladies date.
"The boys are back, the boys are back, climbing up the walls, anytime we want,
the word is out the boys are back!" They began sneaking through the castle as if there were enemies everywhere,
"Here to change the world!" Will sang as they approached Halt and Pauline's suite of rooms,
"To solve the mystery, fight the battle save the girl!" they said together and burst into the rooms singing at the top of their lungs. The ladies looked at them like they had grown two heads and gone mad. But Will and Horace just smiled and left hastily.
"No one can stop us now!" They sang together making their way into the yard where the courtiers just stared. The men were oblivious, We're
"we're the ones that make the rules!" They stopped and grinned then kept going. "OHHHHHHH!" They yelled and pulled out their actual weapons. Horace his sword, and Will his saxe knife. They had a mock battle for a while then headed towards the Baron's studies.
"The boys are back!" they made it to the wall and suddenly they felt like boys again. "Ohhhhh, yeah! The boys are back! the boys are back!" Will began scaling the wall up to the Barons study.
"The boys are back, gonna do it again, gonna wake up the neighborhood!" Will reached the top and threw down a rope for Horace who scaled the wall quickly.
"The boys are back, the boys are back,
climbing up the walls, anytime we want," Will continued,
"No need to worry cause," then together as they made their way down to the Baron's office,
"The boys are back, the boys are back,
The boys are back, gonna do it again," Horace continued,
"And we make it look good!" then together as they neared Arald's office,
"The boys are back, the boys are back,
tearing down the walls anytime we want,
I'm sure that you know by now!" They burst into Baron Arald's study and stood back to back with their arms crossed,
"The boys are back." They said.
Baron Arald just stared at them in mid sentence on a letter. Then he finally got his voice back,
"What are you two doing?" He asked slowly.
"We were bored." Will said relaxing.
"So you decided to act like children and disturb me again?" Horace nodded the two best friends left.
"What do you think Alyss and Cassandra will say?" Horace asked Will. Will just grinned. He knew what Alyss would say.
