AN: Okay, here's the next chapter. I wrote it at first then my computer glitched and it totally erased. so it might not be as good the second time around.
Mini History Lesson: Will is like 12 or 13 here. He's a bit of a trouble maker.

Will silently surveyed the kitchen window from his perch in his favorite tree. Master Chubb had just set an apple pie on the window sill to cool and Will hand't had lunch. He had been too busy hiding from Horace to go to lunch. Will licked his lips and scurried down from the tree and stole across to underneath the kitchen window, two stories up.
Will looked up the wall and mapped out his path to the window. He quickly shimmied up the wall and perched on the window sill. Will picked up the still warm pie and grinned. he had done it. That is until Chubb chose that moment to come back into the kitchen.
"Stop thief!" He bellowed. Will quickly scurried out of the room and back down the wall with the pie in his hand. When he landed back on the ground, he saw a dozen guards heading towards him...again.
"I'll have your hide street rat!" Chubb yelled from the kitchen.
"All this for a pie?" Will said confused and amused. It was still early. Will scurried away and tripped on a rope, falling head first into a laundry pile. The pie was not disturbed though. Will saw the guards looking for them and hurriedly disguised himself and mingled with the ladies. "Morning ladies." He said.
"Getting into trouble a little early today, aren't we Will?" One lady said chuckling.
"Trouble, heh heh, no way." Will said casually, "You're only in trouble if you get caught." Just then a massive hand grabbed the front of his shirt and yanked Will up a few feet. "I'm in trouble." He said nervously.
"And this time-" The guard was cut off as Will kneed him in the crotch. The guard doubled over in pain and Will made his escape.
"Gotta keep one jump ahead of the bread line,
one swing ahead of the sword,
I steal only what i can't afford, And that's everything." Will sang as he dodged guards. He ran away and faced a guard with a sword,
"One jump ahead of the law men,
that's all and that's no joke,
these guys don't appreciate I'm broke." Will said dodging the sword and climbing a stack of crates.
"Riff raff!" A guard shouted, "Street rat!" Chubb bellowed, "Scoundrel!" another guard yelled, "Take that!" A guard threw melons at Will.
"Just a little snack guys." Will sang innocently then ducked as a melon sailed by his head.
"Rip him open, take it back guys!" The guards replied.
"Gotta eat to live,
gotta steal to eat,
have no friends, I do." Will sang and flipped into a room where a bunch of ladies were chatting,
"oh it's sad, Will has hit the bottom,
He's become a one-man rise in crime." They sang with him, then the maid came in with a broom.
"I'd blame parents except he hasn't got 'em." She swung the broom at his head and Will dodged then went back to the window.
"Gotta eat to live gotta steal to eat,
tell ya all about it when I got the time." Will sang and jumped back outside where the guards were looking for him.
"One jump ahead of the slowpokes,
one skip ahead of my doom,
next time, gunna use a nom de plume." Will sang and raced away as they spotted him. The pie was still intact.
"One jump ahead of the hitmen,
one hit ahead of the flock,
I think I'll take a stroll around the block." Will sang as he leapt over the carts in his way.
"Stop thief!" someone yelled. "vandal!" and angry store owner yelled, "Outrage!" "Scandal!" more people yelled.
"Let's not be too hasty." Will said nervously as the guards backed him up against a door frame. then the door opened and a particularly ugly woman came out and pinched Will's cheeks,
"Still i think he's rather tasty." Will darted away.
"Gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat,
otherwise we'd get along. "Will sang.
"WRONG!" The guards shouted and pounded but Will scurried out from under them.
"One jump ahead of the hoof beats,
one hop ahead of the hump," Will darted up a flight of stairs and was met with more guards,
"One trick ahead of disaster,
they're quick, but I'm much faster," Will jumped inside a window and grabbed a rug on his way through. He found a window and looked behind him, the guards were almost on him,
"Here goes, better throw my hand in,
wish me happy landing,
all i gotta do is jump!" And Will did just that. He jumped out the window on the rug and floated down to the ground. He smirked and started to run when a hand grasped the back of his shirt. Will whipped around and saw a dark hooded figure.
"And where did you think you were going?" Ranger Halt asked the boy smoothly. Will just stared, "Let's see what the baron has to say this time." Halt began pulling Will towards the baron's office by his shirt collar.
"No Halt please." Will begged, but he stopped knowing it wouldn't get him anywhere. It hadn't before and it won't now.
Halt dragged the boy through the castle yard and to the baron's offices. Will had been there many times before and knew the drill. He would go up there, explain everything and then take his punishment. He would say he wouldn't do it again but that didn't last. Halt knocked on the door. a muffled reply came and Halt went in pulling Will along.
"What did he do this time." Baron Arald said exasperated. Halt pushed Will forwards and Will explained what had happened then he immediately started to defend himself,
"I couldn't help it. I had missed lunch and I was so hungry-" But the baron held up a hand.
"I don't want to hear it Will. What am I going to do with you." He sighed then continued, "You will clean up the mess you made, and then apologize to Master Chubb, You will then spend two days in your room except for classes. Am i understood?" Arald said sternly. Will looked down and nodded, "I am sorry I didn't hear that." Arald said.
"Yes my lord." Will said louder. Halt escorted Will out and set him to work though he felt sure that wouldn't be the last time Will was in the baron;s office.
