AN: hey, this is just some thing that i had in my head. sorry for not posting sooner. Grade 12 is kinda hectic.

Mini History Lesson: Aragorn is a baby. His father, Arathorn just died, and Aragorn must be sent away to survive. Aragorn's people, the Dunadain, are being oppressed by orcs and other people. Mainly orcs tho. oh, and Arathorn and Gilraen had adopted a girl, named Miriam. so shes Aragorn's sister, sorta. Also, Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen are just a little older than Aragorn here. just to make it work.

I do not own Lord of the Rings or Prince of Egypt.

Gilraen peered out of the front door of her house to see if there were any orcs or any of the men working for Sauron lurking about. The orcs and men had been raiding her village and the other Dunadain villages for a long time. Gilraen's husband, Arathorn, heir of Isildur, king of Gondor, had just been slain a few nights ago, leaving her with their new born son, Aragorn, and their adopted daughter, Miriam.

Gilraen closed her front door and gathered up Aragorn in all his blankets and wrappings and prepared to send him off. She had to ensure his safety even if it meant her own death. She picked up the specially made basket from her kitchen table, passed it to Miriam, and sang to her baby,

"My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again if you will deliver us!" she ran from her house carefully, to the river near where the river was. Miriam tailed behind her, following her every move.

Gilraen didn't see any movement but didn't want to take any chances so she stuck to the shadows and went cautiously. It took what seemed like an eternity before the Dunadain woman made it to the river with Miriam. Miriam set the basket down as Gilraen gazed at little Aragorn, sucking on his fist contentedly.

"Hush now, my baby, be still now, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream." Gilraen gently placed Aragorn in the basket.

When the babe began to fuss and cry, Gilraen put her finger in his hand and he calmed down. The teary woman kissed his soft cheek as Aragorn drifted off to sleep. Gilraen slipped her finger out of his hand and put the lid on the basket, latching it shut so it was water proofed.

"River, oh river, flow gently for me!
Such precious cargo you bear!
Do you know somewhere he can be free?
River, deliver him there." Gilraen sang as she stepped into the river and sent the basket afloat in the current. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she realized she would never see her precious baby boy again.

"Miriam, follow your brother and make sure no harm befalls him." Gilraen said as she bowed her head in despair. Miriam nodded and followed the basket containing her little brother down the river.

There was a point in the river where it went nearly upside down, and Miriam nearly dove in for it, but then the precious basket righted itself and continued gently down the river. Miriam noticed how far the basket was going and realized she was in an elven wood. She wen't more cautiously and soon her baby brother floated into a little lagoon. Miriam gasped as she saw a fair elf woman wading in the river with her three children. Miriam remembered her name was Celebrian, wife of Lord Elrond Halfelven.

"Oh, what's this?" Celebrian said as she noticed the basket, and that it was crying. She set little Elladan, who had been in her arms, on the river bank. the elf woman leaned down and lifted the lid to the basket. She started at the sight of the small baby, just waking up from a sleep, in the basket. She looked around for anyone to claim the child but saw no one.

Miriam sighed in relief. Celebrian was said to be a very nice and gentle elf woman.

"Brother, you're safe now
And safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you:
Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us, too." Miriam sneaked away while Celebrian picked Aragorn up and cuddled him close. Miriam didn't hear what she said next but the elf woman walked away, speaking to her children.

"Come children. Let's go show your father your new baby brother, Estel." She said and headed back home to show her husband their new treasure.

AN: there it is. Basically the beginning of the story of Moses with LOTR characters. hope you liked it. :)
