Needless to say, Edward was exhausted the following afternoon. He didn't wake up until almost one, having been up until the early hours of the morning with the wedding, reception…and their honeymoon romp, of course. Squinting at the sunlight coming in from the window, Ed groaned, wrapping his arms around Roy's midriff even as the man tried to get him out of bed.
"Come on, Ed, our flight leaves at four, we need to get going."
"Don't wanna get up," Edward mumbled, nuzzling in closer. It would be so much nicer to just stay right where he was…warm and pressed against Roy...
His husband kissed the top of his head, gentle but insistent. "I know, but you can sleep again on the plane."
"With all those people around? No thanks…" Sighing and accepting the inevitable, Ed released Roy with some regret, stretching as he sat up groggily. "Four, you said?"
"Yep," Roy confirmed, standing up and stretching as well. Edward grinned at the man's naked back—sure, he'd woken up to the sight many times before, but now…well, now it was with the promise that he'd never stop waking up to it, and that was a wonderful thing to realize.
Four. His good mood tightened suddenly. "Holy shit, four? But we need to get showers, and—where even are our suitcases?"
Roy laughed, pointing towards the door. "I had Havoc drop them off at the hotel last night. The maids brought them up this morning."
"Oh thank goodness," Ed breathed. "That scared me for a second…" Relieved, he stretched again, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and standing with an audible wince.
"Sore?" Roy asked, sympathy coloring his words.
"Just a little. Nothing I'm not used to," Ed replied. Honestly, it wasn't bad. Of course he hurt a little, after what they'd gotten up to last night, but Roy was always plenty gentle, and it was far from Edward's first time.
"Well, at least you won't have to be walking a lot today. Come on, let's get cleaned up."
Edward followed his husband into the bathroom, hugging Roy from behind as the man turned on the tap, steam from the warm water quickly filling the room. "Bath or shower?"
Though Roy couldn't see it, Ed made a face. "Shower. Baths are nice, but only if you're already clean. Otherwise you just sit there floating around in dirt."
Roy laughed, turning the showerhead on. "Fair point. After you."
Eager, Ed stepped into the flow, sighing contentedly at the feeling. Nothing was quite as relaxing as a hot shower, and Roy being there only made it ten times better. As the man stepped in, closing the glass door behind him, Edward leaned back into his husband, humming in contentment. Roy turned him around gently, leaning down to kiss him, an action Ed responded to eagerly.
He squeaked, though, when Roy brought his hands up to Edward's hair, covered in cold shampoo. Pulling away, Ed closed his eyes tightly, slapping blindly at the man. "What was that for!?"
"To see the look on your face," his husband responded, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Still, Edward couldn't keep up the complaints when Roy began to rub the shampoo in, meticulous fingers massaging his scalp. Ed exhaled slowly, focusing on the lovely feeling of the hands in his hair, rubbing away.
Once finished with his hair, Roy moved his hands down to Edward's body, making him shiver. Slick fingers caressed his arms and torso, before the man squatted to rub down his legs. Eyes still closed tight, the feeling left him tingling, never knowing where Roy's hands would end up next. He received another surprise in the form of hands squeezing his ass moments later, and Ed had to laugh—how had he not seen that coming?
Finally, Roy moved back up to his hair, pressing a kiss to Edward's lips on the way, scrubbing out the last of the shampoo. "All clean," the man announced, and Ed opened his eyes, pulling his husband back down for another kiss.
"Alright," Edward said once they parted. "Your turn."
Obediently, Roy closed his eyes as Ed squirted shampoo onto his hands. He, too, began at Roy's hair, tip toeing to reach the man's black locks. He heard a tiny laugh, and put a soapy finger to his husband's lips, shushing him before continuing. Roy's hair, much shorter than Edward's, took next to no time, and Ed moved downwards, massaging his husband's shoulders and chest, tracing his fingers along the lines of muscle there. He'd always possessed a deep appreciation for Roy's body, and being married only seemed to deepen that feeling. It wasn't even sexual, in that moment; it was just that Roy was completely beautiful.
"Everything okay?" the man asked, opening his eyes just slightly to check on Ed, who had paused in the wake of his thoughts.
"Yup," Edward replied, resuming his motions as he bent down to soap Roy's thighs. "Just admiring the view."
Roy made a tiny sound in the back of his throat, and Ed, finishing quickly, straightened with a questioning look. "You're just precious," Roy explained, smiling down at him and wrapping Edward into a tight hug. "I just love you so much."
Ed kissed Roy's collarbone, not wanting to move from the embrace. "I know. I love you, too."
They stood like that for quite some time, just enjoying the feeling of the water sliding down, warm in the tiny gaps between their bodies. Edward would have been quite content to never move, but when the water began to run cold and he started shivering, Roy finally let him go, turning the flow off before stepping out and handing Ed a towel. "We probably spent too much time in there," he murmured, chuckling lightly. "I can't help it though. It's so hard to let go of you."
"So don't," Ed suggested, drying himself with quick, deft movements before sliding up to Roy again.
"Don't tempt me," the man whispered, kissing Edward softly.
Sighing regretfully, Ed pulled away with a smile, walking into the other room to put some clothes on. He didn't even think to look at the time, but Roy sure did.
"Two!" his husband exclaimed. "Shit, we really did take too long in the shower. We've got to get going."
They made it, in the end, though it had been a close call. Roy was just now calming down from the rush, though they were already in the air. Edward had been so adorable, when they took off, pressing his face to the window. He'd never flown before, and the sight of being so high up had literally taken the younger man's breath away. Roy smiled down at Ed, sleeping, now. It was understandable; they'd both had a tiring wedding night, and Edward never was prone to waking up with any ease. Fuck, he was cute. His blonde hair tied up in a messy ponytail, bangs trailing across his cheek, golden eyes shut tight, chest rising and falling peacefully…beautiful.
Yawning himself, Roy bent down to press a kiss to Edward's forehead, winking at an older lady across the aisle who was smiling at them before closing his eyes. Groping, he found Ed's hand and intertwined their fingers before drifting off.
