Chapter 6: Handsome But Deadly

Twilight's POV

Twilight Sparkle was making coffee when she heard a noise. "Spike, what was that?" She asked. But there was no response. She walked over to the stairs, and gasped in horror. There was a trail of blood leading across the floor, into the central part of the library, and the door was wide open. "SPIKE!" she cried, and ran down the stairs. She followed the trail, and found the library in ruins. All the books were lying on the floor, with pages ripped out. But, she noticed, one was missing! The one predicting Nightmare Moon's return!

But what about Spike? She turned on her magic to light up the room and look around. Nothing. But suddenly, in the corner of her eye, she saw something. She turned, and saw Spike, his eyes gouged out hanging by a rope from the railing. His stomach was cut open, and his intestines and organs were spilling out. She gasped in terror and disgust. She began to cry. Suddenly, a voice came from the darkness.

"Why the long face?" It said, in a mocking tone. A handsome alicorn stepped out from the darkness. A smirk on his face, and his horn covered in blood. She gasped through her tears. She took a few steps back, in shock, and almost tripped over some of the ruined books. How could a pony so handsome, be so evil?! She thought, shaking in fear. He moved closer, licking his lips. She recoiled against the now empty bookshelf and closed her eyes. He got closer, until he was only centimetres away from her. She could feel his breath on her face.

"So, I heard you know about Nightmare Moon…?" He said, his voice soft.

"Y-yes?" She opened her eyes slightly, and stuttered. She was still trembling in fear. She was terrified. He took a step back, and the smirk turned into a grin. "And I heard, you wanted to stop her from returning." She nodded yes. He laughed. "That's all I wanted to know."

The last thing she saw were his red eyes.
