Shadow's POV
Shadow had entered the Everfree Forest to dispose of the demon once and for all. He would seal him inside the talisman. The psychic map Crystal had placed in his mind led him there. And there it was. Just laying on a tree stump. A small orb made of a strange black metal. He placed his hoof on it. "Time to say goodbye." He said. The demon was channeled out of him, and he felt so weak. The orb glowed, red hot, and red energy surged inside it. It burned the bottom of his hoof and he pulled away. The demon was gone. Sealed inside the last talisman. Then, it exploded in a blast of hellish energy, and a monstrous laugh came from inside the smoke. A figure rose from it, hovering above the tree stumb.
A bestial winged demon who stood more than twice the height of a pony on its hind legs. He looked like a minotaur, but with one horn in the centre of his forehead in addition to the two beside it. The central horn burned with unholy fire, and an upside down pentagram was carved into it. It glowed with power above his flaming eyes and goatlike face. His legs were like a goat's, and his torso was well muscled. In one hand he carried a staff with a crescent shaped blade attached at the middle on it. He roared powerfully. "I am Baphomet. Thank you for freeing me, Shadow. I can now return to my place in Hell at my full power. However, I believe a gift is in order." He said. Suddenly, Silver teleported in front of him, bound by chains of hellfire. "Your lover will love on, eternally. With me. In Hell. Goodbye, Shadow Moon, most failed vessel."
He said, and the chains tightened, slicing Silver into pieces. Baphomet disappeared. Shadow began to cry. "No… No… NO!" He cried to the moon. "Give me strength… I need her back." He magically created a rope. "There's only one way to Hell." He said. Shadow magically tied a noose and placed it around a tree. Shadow hanged himself, and soon he blacked out. He awoke, in a land of barren rock with lakes of lava and fire. "Welcome to Hell, Shadow." He said to himself. He saw a huge, infernal palace in the distance. "That's where he'll be. It has to." He set off.
Shadow finally arrived at the massive palace. No one guarded it. He entered, and soon came to the throne room. Baphomet sat in a throne, and Silver was wrapped in chains, suspended from the ceiling like a chandelier. "Shadow, you fool. I must thank you. Your lover proves a good trophy of your failure. Your soul will be mine too. 1005 years ago, I came to Equestria to conquer it. Princess Celestia shattered my soul into four pieces. One found its way into that pitiful fool, Pinkie Pie. Two were bound into talismans, and the last piece… Well, you obviously can connect the dots. You have freed them all, and made me whole. Now I can raise my army once again." He said. Shadow raced towards him, but Baphomet slashed him away with his staff. "Not so fast, Shadow Moon." He said, and as he raised his hand, the fortress fell away. They stood on a small plane of rock. "Prepare to die again, DEMON!" Shadow cried, and they leapt into battle. Blasting each other with magic or hellfire, in Baphomet's case. Baphomet sliced Shadow with his staff, and blasted hellfire into the wound.
"Die, Shadow Moon!" He cried, and swung the staff down, severing Shadow's front left leg. Shadow screamed in agony. Baphomet summoned two demons who held Shadow in place. "Only a fool faces a demon lord alone." He said, and brought his staff down, slicing Shadow clean in half.
Shadow awoke in a small white room. He had no idea where he was. His soul had been killed, it seemed. He had no idea how that worked, or if it was what even happened. He needed to save Silver. She was his true love. He threw himself against the wall. Nothing. He kept doing, putting more and more force behind each blow, kicking it, punching it, slamming against it. Finally, a crack appeared. He had broken the wall of Limbo. He needed to save her. All he thought about was Silver as he kept smashing the wall until finally, triumphantly, he broke a hole in it. He jumped through into darkness, and was falling. He saw several realms. Universes. Then he saw Hell. He used his wings to steer himself towards it, and flew into Hell, smashing through the ceiling of Baphomet's palace, and landing before his throne.
"Impossible! I destroyed your soul! How did you… You broke the multiverse! You broke out of Limbo! It can't be!" He cried. Shadow blasted him and beat him with his hooves. He grabbed Baphomet's staff and impaled him with it, stabbing him into his throne. He beat him over and over until his face was a bloody pulp. Then he broke the chains holding Silver. She dropped down. "Sh-Shadow… you saved me!" They kissed passionately and they were returned to Equestria. Deep in the Everfree Forest.
They returned to Ponyville to find the town in chaos. It seemed to just be night, but the clocks all said… 8:00 am?! OH no…. Nightmare Moon was returning… Not now!
