Rin woke and looked around she saw a wooden ceiling 'Three male demons attacked me. Wait… my baby!' Her hands flew to her stomach only to feel no little bump this caused her to panic and look down to find she wasn't wearing her robes that Sesshomaru had for her. She was wearing just a plain dark blue yukata with light blue stripes and a few multi-colored butterflies and a pink obi. She saw something move from the corner of her eye and jumped up "Who are you what are you doing?"

"Child why are you freaking out?"

"Why?! My baby is gone! I look different and I don't know where I am!"

A woman walked in front of Rin and smiled she wore rags and had was about Rin's size but she had long grey hair and a jewel on her forehead with pale skin and bright shining blue eyes and red lips from using makeup no doubt, her appearance looked too beautiful it seemed somehow fake. Rin glared at the woman and stood up backing away from her and the woman walked closer and closer backing her up to a wall "You were never his mate. You were never pregnant."

"What no I was we were together!"

"No, you came to me. My powers for making dreams come true for both demons and mortals." Something coursed through Rin she felt her emotions crash down on her and she shook with her memories flowing through her.

'I remember now. I wasn't haven't seen him since that day.'

Rin smiled looking at the flowers she sat on Ah Un and who was following his lord. Jaken walked side by side with the dragon as their lord lead the way to where ever he wished to go, he never really spoke much to them about any of his plans or ideas. However lately he had been speaking less and less to either of them. Rin tried her best to get her lord to open up more but he had been shutting her out every time, she would offer him a flower and he would simply turn away and walk ignoring her. Sometimes she would be allowed to walk by his side however now she was told to say in tow with Jaken, sometimes she would hum or sing and then Sesshomaru would walk away from her.

Sesshomaru was walking quickly more than normal, Jaken had brought up his dislike for Rin more and more. Jaken sighed looking at Rin picking flower petals off and humming he wasn't stupid, he had heard that match makers told girls to do this to find their out if their crush loves them back. However… who was Rin's crush?

She hadn't been around many mortals and only a handful of demons. There was that human boy they had with them a few months ago, he was a demon slayer. She liked demons over humans she had once said so herself and even made up a little song once, so why would she like a demon slayer. Jaken decided he could count him out, well then there was only one other human male. That damn perverted Miroku a sleazy monk who was a huge womanizer. Rin had always turned away from that monk, Jaken remembered that he had even asked Rin and she screamed for Sesshomaru and Inuyasha had to stop his brother from killing the monk.

Then again there were a few others like Inuyasha and Koga, however she never really spoke to Inuyasha and she feared wolves… so then who did she like? There were only two others himself who fought and they had a more hate relationship than like, then there was….'LORD SESSHOMARU!'

She plucked the flower petal and sighed her eyes held sadness and he sighed walking faster be beside his lord, he sighed even more and whispered "My lord may I speak with you privately for a brief moment?" His lord stopped there was something in Jaken's tone that made him realize it wasn't something idiotic this time, this time Jaken actually had something he needed to talk about.

Sesshomaru looked at Ah un and Rin "Rin take this time to feed Ah Un and do as you wish." Rin smiled hearing her name she knew something was eating at her lord however he was speaking more now "Yes, may lord may I seek more flowers also?"

"Do as you wish."

She nodded and left humming the same tune as she had with the flowers and this only made Jaken sigh again, Sesshomaru didn't miss her servants' interactions. Sesshomaru walked a few more feet to look into a calm lake as his servant stood beside him "Um mi lord, it is Rin. I believe it would be best to have her time with us come to an end."

"Why is that?"

"She seems to have very strong attachments with you; I believe it could develop into the human emotion called love if it hasn't already developed into that." Sesshomaru sighed and thought about it, mortals did seem to develop those emotions with physical attraction and hints of kindness. Sesshomaru knew she saw him as a kind savior; after all he had brought her back from death and provided her with protection, clothing and food.

"I see tell Rin we will be moving again."

"Yes, Mi lord."

That night Sesshomaru stopped a valley away from a village and told them to make up camp, he would investigate the area. Rin and Jaken set up camp then Lord Sesshomaru didn't return that night and while Jaken and Rin had fallen asleep awaiting their lord's return. When they woke Jaken noticed that his staff of two heads was no-where to be found, neither was Ah un nor their lord. The only thing that was left was a small bag of money and a note 'Use wisely.'

Jaken sighed he had woken first and he had realized what his lord had done he had left Rin cut all ties with her, however he did the same with Jaken. This both angered and saddened Jaken, however Sesshomaru wasn't the kind to leave his young ward alone. He had decided to take care of her his honor even rested on it, to give her the best life he gave them money and left them near a nice village and with a person she trusts. Since she didn't get along nor trust humans much it made sense to Jaken that his lord chose for him to stay with Rin and raise her.

Since then Rin has grown use to calling Jaken father or dad, and they live in a nice well-built house in the middle of the village for protection. He provided good food for Rin and some of the nicest clothing she was very well taken care of and she had many friends in the village, one friend named Mai and a few guys who have been watching her and been buttering up to Jaken.

However Rin had longed to see Sesshomaru again to know why he had left and never returned, seven longs years have passed and her memory of him all but faded she couldn't remember what he looked like. However she was once told by a miko, you never truly forget those you loved. She heard about a demoness who could grant dreams, and her dream was to be with her lord once more and to have his love. This woman had done that and yet she was now taken out of that dream.

"Why take me out of it? I had sought you to put and keep me there."

"My dear child nothing is free in this world."

"I see you want payment… What is your asking price?"

The woman shrugged and smiled walking away and coming with a pot of tea and cup, she sat at a table that had just appeared and poured a cup "Nothing much, only your body, your youth, your heart and well your life force."

"So you intend to have my body and basically kill me."

"Well this body yes, however your soul will be in your body in that dream world. So your body here doesn't matter it will simply collect dust and space. I can use your youth to make myself even more beautiful, and your body a demon would pay a good about to either wear it or eat it and your heart demons love eating human hearts. Lastly your life force will help keep me able to make dreams for more people."

Rin sighed and looked at her only to think about the offer and nod "Deal, what do I have to do?" The woman gave her the cup of tea "Drink." Rin took a deep breath and closed her eyes somehow closing her eyes made it feel easier this way. However before she could take a drink she heard a scream and the cup in her hand broke, she opened her eyes the sight before her shocked her.

Jaken with a group of warriors from the village and a miko who had been visiting this last few days, looking for a demoness who was showing dreams of the mortal heart and granting false happiness. She was the one Rin heard about this woman this demoness named Tsubaki, however if this demoness could make it so she could be in love with Sesshomaru and it be okay then she didn't care. Everyday seemed liked false happiness she should be happy but without him she wasn't.

"Father!"

Jaken grabbed Rin's wrist while the others made quick work of killing the demoness, he dragged her home lecturing her the whole way. Once home Rin refused to speak and she slept often up to fifteen hours a day and he ate and was out at night walking around and simply staring off into space. Rin wasn't herself, that much was clear to Jaken however what was it? Is she really that depressed?! He decided to a demonic enchanted letter and it was still in code to one person who he needed to speak with again. His daughter Rin was thirteen and many men were starting to look at her and now treat Jaken with more respect than ever, many called her the rare treasure of the village. She was one of the most beautiful in the village and was young and yet old enough to marry since she had turned into a woman already, and several men had already asked Jaken however he told them all no. It was Rin's choice if she wanted to marry, and all the times she said no.

However he was now confused on what to do, she would draw and write she was good at both. She would draw pictures of a man with long hair and his face was always plank however he had pointy ears and wore a blank hiori with a sword in his hand. She would often write of love, and fading mysteries or a vanishing prince. Still all this time she wanted him, Jaken had to ask him a very important question. However it would be in a coded message.
