Kagome was very quite she seemed so focused on the well-being of this young woman that they had with them, the one who carried a child and one they rescued. The girl was still out of it not saying her name or anything, however her compaction was becoming paler by the minute. Inuyasha made everyone in the group keep very quiet so he keep an ear on her breathing and on her heartbeat, however both were growing more weak with every moment. Rin was being carried bridal style by Inuyasha, Kagome stared at the two a bit jealous and feeling bad for feeling such emotions.

Rin whimpered in her sleep making Inuyasha stare down at the woman who was so vulnerable and in much agonizing pain. She looked a few inches from her face and saw white hair, she faintly and her eyes closed "Mate." Everyone in the group gasped and Kagome glared at Inuyasha who had been her steady boyfriend for three years, he had finally gotten over Kikyo completely. Inuyasha gasped and kept walking "Ah what the hell are you talking about?! I don't have a mate!"

Sango glared at him and walked over to Kagome "Maybe you are cursed? Finally get him to yourself and then… another girl and more two timing." Inuyasha yelled loudly "Hey I didn't do anything!" Rin's body started growing colder in his hands. Then her heart beat grew even fainter "Kagome we must get her to your era quickly, I'm not sure how much she will last." Kagome's jealousy went away as she heard that, she nodded they had made it to Inuyasha forest in only an hour and this girl was holding on really well. But for being poisoned for at least an hour they didn't know how long she had been poisoned before they got her. She might just have ten minutes left they didn't know they had to act as quick as possible, Kagome jumped on Inuyasha's back as he ran as fast as he could jumping down the well.

The blue light engulfed them and the three were pulled apart from their embrace by invisible figures. The blue lights engulfed their unknown friend, she had long black hair and porcelain skin. Inuyasha felt a warm feeling and he saw Kagome standing beside him he reached for her as a bright light flashed when he opened his eyes he saw they were all at the bottom of the well and the unknown woman laid on the ground however her body was glowing but it faded to reveal her laying down looking peaceful.

Rin mumbled something and then Inuyasha picked her up "Kagome what the hell was that?!" He jumped out of the well after Kagome had already climbed out. Kagome however wasn't going to answer his question instead she had ran inside yelling and waking the house, it was near midnight and they were all sound asleep. Inuyasha got to the door of the house with Rin still being held bridal style. She started to couch violently and she began to shake, he had to do the only thing he could think to calm her down. He purred like one would do to a pup or a mate, it was the only thing that came to mind. Kagome ran out with mother, Miu with gramps tugging sleepy Souta along.

Kagome hopped into the driver's seat she had gotten her license a few years ago. Miu sat in the passenger's side and gramps had Souta on his lap in the back, where Inuyasha had Rin with him. Rin shook and coughed loudly and Inuyasha tried purring but it just got worse and he watched as blood came from her mouth.

"KAGOME! I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER SHE WILL LAST!" Kagome had tears in her eyes this young girl who looked so very young and yet was going to be a mother was dying with her unborn child right in front of her and she had to do something. Kagome jerked her head towards her mother with tears in her eyes "Mom?!" Miu looked at the girl in the back and she nodded "Kagome just don't get us killed!" Kagome was approaching a stop light and she took a deep breath going from 40pmh to 70pmh, she made an illegal left turn and continued to speed she turned around a corner gunning. Miu grabbed her seat belt as comfort, and grandpa held onto Souta who was crying. Suddenly there were seirens and Inuyasha looked back and then at Kagome, he had learned a bit more in the last seven years coming to this world "Cops!"

Kagome took that as a reason to speed up she made a few more rush turns only to be joined by two more cops, she finally made it to the hospital and she jumped out of the car yelled for Inuyasha to take her up there and tell the doctors she needs help she has been poisoned and is pregnant. He ran like the ground was burning lava, he threw open the doors to the hospital and yelled "HELP HER!" Everyone went dead quiet he glared and yelled "SOMEONE SHE IS PREGNANT!" Doctors rushed to his side and took her putting her on a gurney and rushing with Inuyasha at their side as they went in the elevator to the higher floors.

The doctor who had made it to Inuyasha first looked at the girl and then him "Any information would be good." Inuyasha took a deep breath and thought of everything he knew by her scent and his other senses as well as what they found in the mansion "She seemed to be poisoned, she is pregnant and she is very young. She is my girlfriend's cousin please you must save her, and the child."

"We will do what we can."

With that they took her away Inuyasha went back down stairs to see if Kagome needed help with the cops, when he got there only one cop car remained. Kagome was talking with tears in her eyes she had started yelling "What was I supposed to do?! She has been poisoned for hours! She is only like a middle schooler and she is pregnant, she wouldn't wake up! She grew more pale and her heart weaker every minute, when she started coughing up blood it was more than I could handle! I DON'T CARE IF I BROKE TRAFFIC LAWS IF HER AND THE BABY LIVE THEN I-." Inuyasha ran over and hugged his lover she started to shake and just cried in his arms, he glared at the cops "What would you do if it was your cousin?!" The cops after some brief talking gave her about a two hundred dollar fee, and left saying they hope she makes it with the child.

Kagome is in the waiting room she had fallen asleep her head on her boyfriend's shoulder, Souta fell asleep too. Gramps was busy getting tea from the café down stairs and Miu was speaking quietly with Inuyasha "So who is that girl?"

He sighed and adjusted his hat that they had got at the gift shop it was morning it had been a long time, he spoke softly not to wake Kagome "We don't know. We were coming back after traveling to a village and then all of a sudden Kagome ran into something… a barrier. It was shaking so something was hitting and making it shake, I used my sword and cut the barrier down what was in its place was a mansion and that woman."

"I don't know if you can call her a woman, more like a kid."

"I'm not quite sure what age she is but she has to at least be fifteen or so I'm guessing. In my time many woman at that age have their own husbands and families. However we found that she had been poisoned, her food, and water supply were tainted with it. The mansion seemed to only have her no one else, or no sign of anyone for a long time."

"It must have been so lonely for her." Miu said with sadness in her.

Inuyasha looked at her as she spoke again "Well, I have a question Inuyasha."

"Yeah what is it?" He looked up at her answering her.

"What is going to happen to her?"

"I'm not sure, it would be really terrible to take her back to that mansion. It could have been a prison for her or it could have been to protect her. If it was for protection though, then it didn't work well. I suppose we could always have a village take her in, but she called me mate when she saw my hair. You only use the word mate when you are the lover of a demon."

"So she is a demon's wife?"

"Most likely, however was it forced meaning the barrier was a prison or was it by her choice meaning that the barrier was for safety. Either way the scent she has I know that the child in her is a half demon, so I'm not sure."

"We could house her here, this time is safer after all."

"Is it?"

"What do you mean Inuyasha?"

"Well, she is the mother of a half demon. She is also from five hundred years ago, so she will be able to adapt to this time? And what about the child having to constantly hide half of itself, and in this time there are so many who if they found out would want to do tests on the child or use it for war or kill it."

"You are right." She sighed and looked down biting her lip "What a horrible problem she is in." Inuyasha nodded and sighed he zoned out by staring at the floor. Footsteps echoed softly as a pair of nice dress shoes made their way into view. They looked up and Inuyasha recognizes who the shoes belong to he sees the doctor from before.

He had a long white lab coat and he had lightly tanned skin and he had green eyes and narrowed glasses with a light silver frame. His hair was a chestnut brown and he had a small mole right under his left eye. He stared at them and around his neck was a cross necklace and his face was showing nothing, his voice was smooth and crisp with the news he had to say "The girl was poisoned, with a rare and almost forgotten poison in this modern day and age."

Miu looked at then doctor hungry for information "Please tell us as much as you can." He nodded and sighed "I took a history course in college and nearly five centuries is when we first saw it appear mostly used for assassins. Two hundred years ago it became very common, we have learned much since then. Only one family knew of it was made with no more of that family's bloodline all knowledge of how to make it was in a book, however about fifty years ago the family's house caught fire. After that fire only a few notes survived making any record of this poison in medical and in history books."

"What is the poison called and how is she?"

The doctor took off his glasses placing them in his shirt pocket "Its proper name is called Black Rose Eternal Slumber. The girl is going to recover I am not sure how but she was very ill and nearly died, she did die once in surgery, however we were able to resistant her."

"She died?!" Kagome said jumping up from her sleeping state to her now shocked state, "Well what did it do to her?" The doctor sighed and thought about it the poison didn't attack just one thing it just went to destroy everything in the body "She had internal bleeding in a few organs; however we were able to stop it. Also she was throwing up blood because she broke a few blood vessels in her throat, nothing too major there. It flowed through her blood stream and we had to clean her blood and give her some more."

"Did you see where it was mostly at? Her stomach so how is the child?!" Kagome said jumping to it, Miu looked at her and sighed "Kagome." Her mother scolded Kagome for starting to make a scene in a hospital. However the doctor over looked it and continued to speak "The poison was inserted with a needle in the center of her stomach and I am sorry to stay that the poison didn't leave her body without doing some real damage."

Inuyasha growled jumping to his feet as narrowed his eyes "Hey doc you just said that she was alive right?!" The nod from the doctor made Inuyasha sit back down and his temper cool "So then what are you talking about? If she is alive then that's good you guys won the battle right?" The doctor was quiet and sighed "I'm afraid one of the children didn't make it, I'm sorry for the lost. Is the father here?"

Kagome shook and tears flowed from her eyes 'A innocent child died, in an assignation attempt!' Suddenly there was a no and she looked up to see Inuyasha standing "No, we don't know who he is. She is distant and we don't see her often." The doctor took in the information and nodded " I see so where did she come in contact with this?" Inuyasha had taken control of the situation it seemed "She lives in a rural countryside town, however we went into her house and see was just lying there knocked out. We haven't seen her in many many years."

"I see. Anyways she going to be asleep for a few hours it seems, however she did keep saying something."

"Really what was it?"

"Mate."
