Rin opened her eyes and saw she was in a place that she didn't know her eyes widened and she started to look around quickly as her breathing increased and her mind raced with questions. What she saw was white everything a white ceiling however it didn't appear to be wood or dirt so what was it? The room was huge it and there were what looked like paintings, but the painting wasn't a picture. The painting looked like words, but she couldn't read it was it in a different language or something? Beside her she heard beeping, it looked like a stick with a magic box and it had a line that looked like a mountain moving up and down on it. She looked down and saw tubes coming from her she started to shake 'What are these?!'
There was a light blue cloth to my left and then there was a big window on the right with big piece of furniture in front of it. However she had never seen any furniture like this. Suddenly the cloth to the right was pulled back and a woman with strange colored hair appeared, it was the color of the summer sun and she had eyes like pools of blue. She also wore white and it was a very short yukata, showing way more than a normal woman wears and she wore a hat like thing on her head, her yukata didn't have sleeves.
She smiled and looked at Rin which only made fear rise in Rin "Hello I am happy to see you are awake." Rin's eyes widened and she started shaking "Wh...Where am… where am I ?!" She jumped to sit up and grabbed her belly glaring at them, she looked beside her noticing the table she hadn't noticed before. She grabbed her a single chop stick and pointed it towards the nurse "Stay away! I'll hurt you!" The nurse looked at her smiled "I'm not here to hurt you I'm a nurse."
"A nurse?! I've never heard of a nurse youkai!" The nurse nearly stumbled backwards and gasped "A Youkai?! Me how rude! Where do you get to call me a youkai!" People heard the yelling one with different speech more old fashioned, suddenly there was a man wearing a long white coat, and he had light blue clothing under his white coat. Rin was standing up and glared holding up the stick thing that had a mountain line going up and down quickly.
The nurse turned to the doctor and screamed loudly "She has the monitor and using it like a club!" glared tears in her eyes screaming loudly "Evil youkai! Evil! My mate will kill you! He will!" The doctor and nurse were joined by several men wearing grey outfits and they had weapons on a belt they also had odd writing on their outfits. The men went to get the woman who they would sedate until she calmed down, however the doctor stared in confusion as they watched the woman standing before them.
She grabbed her belly closing her eyes and she let a warrior cry, the doctor watched staring at the woman. The woman seemed to start floating in the air her hair flowing like as if in water, her hair grew from mid-length to very long down to her thighs. She smiled as her hair darkened and her eyes changed to a blueish purple. Then she threw the monitor and ran to the window 'I'll climb out of it!' Suddenly there was hand on her arm and she widened her eyes and looked to see a man with white hair and golden eyes he wore a red outfit she recognized.
"De…demon?!"
He glared at her and yelled scolding her "What the hell are you doing?!" She shook and hugged him with tears hanging in her eyes as they leaked "A Daiyoukai!" She smiled happily and she fainted in his arms with joy and from over exertion while she was supposed to be healing. Souta walked in with his sis and spoke confused seeing a girl that was about his age, at age fourteen or fifteen? A few days passed and Rin finally woke.
Rin opened her eyes and looked to see a women and saw a wooden ceiling and wooden floors and not far was a girl who wore a yukata, she wore a yukata that was light blue with small golden balls that look like ordainments with a yellow obi. Rin looked at the girl and smiled "Are you a servant my mate has brought me?" The woman turned around she looked around her mid-twenties and she had raven colored hair and a big smile 'She has a warm heart.'
"No, I'm afraid you were in an accident. However I and my intended got you medical help and you are fine now." Rin shot out of her bed and looked at the woman the settings around her were familiar a single futon and a fireplace with a small kitchen. Rin looked at the woman and then at her belly "And my child?"
The woman's face was grim and she sighed, she was making miso soup " Well, we do have very advanced medical help here… however you were poisoned very badly for a few hours and because of that you have been affected. You carried twins and one was taken over by the poison, and was unable to be saved. I'm sorry."
Rin looked down at her stomach and tears fell down her cheeks "An…And the other one?"
"Alive and well."
"I see…" Rin broke down in tears however Kagome snapped her out of it "You are still a mother, you cannot morn long you need to find who was after your life. You can revenge your child's murder." Rin nodded she decided that would happen she would find her child's killer, it was a must. Rin got up and walked towards the door, however was stopped when Rin grabbed her sleeve.
"Wait you can't go now, if you don't want to risk your other child's life right?"
Rin stopped and looked down at her "Where am I? Take me home or my mate won't find me!" Kagome sighed and looked up "When you were asleep you asked for your mate, who is he?" Rin stopped and looked at Kagome she opened her mouth to speak and yet nothing came out "He… He… He is a Daiyokai…"
Kagome had a flash back of the when they laid Rin back in bed and spoke to her closest family, who by their lies were the Higurashi's. Miu and Kagome were taken aside by the doctor who said he knew why she acted that way and he needed a word with them, once they were all alone he spoke "This woman, what was her name again?"
Kagome rattled her brain for a good name "Ami Ichinose!" She sighed and couldn't help but smile laughing she had gotten the idea from two animes she had seen, Ami from Sailor Moon and Ichinose from Nana. The doctor nodded and spoke again "Well the poison had been in her blood for a while and it has made its way to her brain affecting her memory, that is why she can't remember any of the modern way of life. She didn't understand what a nurse or a hospital is, do not be surprised if she can't remember a lot of things."
Kagome looked at the soup and served it motioning for Rin to sit "Can you remember your name?" Rin nodded and sighed wondering why she couldn't remember her mate's face, however she could remember his voice it was calm and soft when he spoke to her. However she smiled and spoke softly she touched her belly 'I will have a healthy child and I will remember… I will.'
"I rather not say, why should I trust a stranger after all. However you may call me whatever you wish, my name needs protection."
Kagome looked at the girl and raised a brow with a slight frown 'Is she that important for her name to be dangerous?' Kagome stared at the woman and tilted her head then sighed "Well the name I made up was Ami, is that fine?" Rin looked at the soup and looked back up at Kagome, she lifted the soup to her lips and took a tiny sip testing it. Once tasting no odd taste she picked up her chopsticks and began to eat it slowly it tasted very good, she had to hand it to this lady "You are a very talented cook, your intended must be pleased."
"I wish he would, he just grumbles wondering if its edible. Hey you speak very formally are you of noble blood or an educated family?" Rin sat down her soup and looked at Kagome, this woman seemed sweet with good intentions however Rin couldn't afford to trust her. How could she? Rin narrowed her eyes at Kagome "I speak well and I am an orphan, my family were poor farmers in a village that was destroyed by wolves, I was a lone survivor. That is as much as you need to know about me." Kagome looked at the woman in shock wasn't the woman different from before? Now her hair was longer right?
Kagome looked at her and sighed "I must tell you something important of where you are." This seemed to get this woman's attention, Rin sat tall and narrowed her eyes with a glare fixed on Kagome "Where? Am I in a prison perhaps?" Kagome shook her head looking away and smiled "Nope, you are in the future. Five hundred and some years in the future actually."
"How is that possible?"
"A well at this shrine can connect your time where you were living and in my era the future. We took you through the well and got you medical treatment here, and since we think where you were living before was dangerous we wish to keep you here where it is safer. However that is up to you, this place is dangerous but in other ways. It is up to you weather you want to stay or go back."
Rin looked at the woman and thought about it, and bit her the inside of her cheek "Do you have a coin?" Kagome struggled to pull out a ten yen piece and handed it to Rin. Rin took the coin quickly and then smiled flipped the coin 'Tails I'll stay, heads I'll go.' Her eyes watched the coin with a lot of interest and she frowned when the coin found its resting position "Tails. I'll stay… for now." Kagome smiled and looked at her with a big smile, I'm going to bring a friend from your era to see if you are really alright okay? Also this is a very old and is in the back of our shrine. It is pretty much forgotten, and it's not all that run down, you can live here and do whatever you want to it, like paint or decorate, anything."
Rin got up and bowed closing her eyes "I thank you for the kindness you are showing me." Kagome smiled and looked at her "Why not go shopping with me tomorrow I will show you the modern ways here tonight after dinner in the main house." Rin nodded with a smile as she sat down "Again I thank you, may I make a request?" Kagome was smiling her smile was from ear to ear happy that Ami was warming up quickly to her "Yes, anything."
"Canvas, paints and painting supplies."
Kagome found her request odd and nodded with a smile "Yes, we can get that tomorrow and please rest until tomorrow."
