Sesshomaru walked back to the mansion where he lived part time with his mate, his secret mate that no one knew about. He walked down the path and then something in him was burning he hadn't seen her in a long time and he wanted to feel her warmth, to have her love, to kiss her, to see her smiling face. He smiled thinking of the small gift something he had brought his mate, an object heard from an eagle demon from the west. Jewelry that was in made in a circle with a shiny stone on top that you wear over a finger, humans use it to show that they are married. He and her never had a human ceremony otherwise known as a wedding, however they had a mating ceremony mating and spending time in each other's company.

He made his way up the path and something happened that hadn't before he looked up and he could see the mansion. He was never able to see it before when the barrier was up and yet now he could, he could see it perfectly. With that Sesshomaru took off sprinted and all but flew through the open door. There he saw new paintings on the walls and then there were many different scents in the house as well as ants in the kitchen swarming over food and tea, and both smelt of something foul. He had to find her he had too he ran through the house and called her name, in his room the sheets were pulled back and there was some dried blood 'Rin's!' The he then caught the scent of something else and ran to her room and inside there was her birds he got her. She loved them and treasured them however they were dead with bugs swarming them too, he checked the rest of the rooms and there wasn't anything no sight of her.

He ran back to the kitchen and noticed that the ant trail wasn't moving, they were all dead, he picked up the cup and sniffed the contents 'Poison! And a fox!' Suddenly he noticed his mate wasn't here and so she must not be dead here and for the barrier to be broken something very strong would have to do that, not just any ordinary fox. Sesshomaru closed his eyes and took a deeper breath and sniffed hoping to sniff out something he could follow in order to find his mate again.

The scent he caught was a fox, a few mortals and then… a lead.

'Daiyoukai!'

However he could deal with that second first thing first was to deal with that fox. He had to have been the one behind the poison. The fox nor the humans would have been strong enough to be able to break the barrier so that leaves his brother, however his brother never would kill a human without reason. Rin wouldn't give him a reason even if she attacked him Daiyoukai wouldn't kill her a woman who was defenseless? He knew his brother preferred humans over demons and he wouldn't attack or kill a defenseless woman.

Sesshomaru left the house and walked around the back to make sure there was no body, what he saw shocked him… A large canvas, a painting of him and her. However it was cut and destroyed by claw marks, all into pieces. It was beautiful and it warmed his heart and yet someone had came in here took his mate, destroyed things she treasured and in turn destroyed things he treasured. He opened his palm and sighed walking back into the house, he went into her room and pulled out her sewing kit. He managed to find a large string she had woven together like a child wove together a flower tiara, he took the two rings 'Symbol of love.' He then closed his eyes and mentally promised 'I'll find you again and when I do… you won't leave my side again!' Sesshomaru took the two rings and stuck the string through the two rings before tying it around his neck, 'I'll hang onto these until we meet again.'

He took the scent of the fox and then took off running as fast as he could following the scent that was only about two days or so old. He found the scent and he found one thing fueled him anger and rage, he felt so lost thinking of Rin and how she might be dead. During his thinking he slide to a stop 'If I'm alive she must be too.' He smiled and then his eyes went wide looking at the sky feeling his chest compress really hard as he fell to his knees 'Rin! Are you alright?!' Suddenly his eyesight was gone, his breath was caught in his throat and saw everything went black.

Else where

The doctor had bloody gloves and looked at the screaming monitor "We're losing her!" Nurses cleared way for a machine and flipped the switches as a humming began and then a zap as metal pads made contact with her chest. Rin's chest started to move up and down again and the monitor resumed showing her heartbeat and plus.

"She's back!"

Sesshomaru opened his eyes in a flash and sucked in a gasp of air, he notice he was lying on the ground and then looked around stunned 'Did…Did I just die?' He got up brushing himself off and stood staring in the distance 'Rin…please hold on.' He found a renewed burst of speed and found his feet took him back to his family's home, the western palace.

The next day in the feudal era, Rin smiled after waking and dressing with her new summer yukata. It was smiling it was a beautiful red silk with a many tiny golden flowers all over, then a pure white under layer and a golden obi tied around her then red sandals. Her hair was all up in a comb with two big fake red flowers on each side, she wore golden eyeshadow and red lipstick. Rin smiled looking at her reflection, she had to get some new furniture like a new table, a futon without holes in it, a long mirror and then some paint supplies because they forgot them the other day and some lights then a new tub and toilet even a plumber and electrician.

So much however Kagome knocked on the door and Rin got up quickly and answered the door, she saw Kagome, Daiyoukai and a flea in Daiyoukai's open palm. Rin looked at them and then welcomed them in "Please come in." They sat at the old terrible wooden table with cushions that were so old they were almost as hard as rocks 'I'll have to get those too.' Rin looked Kagome, Daiyoukai and the flea as Daiyoukai spoke "My name is Inuyasha and this flea is named Myoga. He will also just take a quick look to make sure you are completely okay."

The flea hopped off of his palm and onto the table and smiled happily looking at the young woman "You are immortal aren't you young lady?" Rin nodded and Kagome and Inuyasha just had these shocked expressions as Kagome shouted "AMI! When were you going to tell me?!" Rin shrugged and looked at the little flea again "Yes, I'm mated to a Daiyokai. However that is all I can remember about my mate."

"I wonder how it was that you were able to get through the well, I know I was thanks to a small sip of Kagome's blood." Kagome looked at Inuyasha and she whispered something in his ear as Rin was talking to Myoga "Your eyes are an abnormal color for mortals, and being immortal doesn't change that. Perhaps you were only able to pass through the well thanks to somehow your body in desperate need accepted the bone eater's well energy into your body to let you pass. Immortal's bodies adapt very well which help lead to their extended lives."

"So my body fused with it?"

"Yes, perhaps did anything else of you change?"

Kagome spoke up and smiled happily "She got longer hair, it was mid-back now it's down near her bottom." Myoga nodded and then looked at her and smiled "So do you remember anything else with your mate? What about your name?" Rin spoke and sighed "I don't remember anything else about my mate, and as for my name I'm going by Ami. I don't feel alright telling anyone my real name."

"Ah why is that."

"I feel like it's not safe, like I need to hide who I am."

"I see."

Rin sighed stared off into thin air and that was it the discussion was over and then they went further shopping. Rin had gotten her house to her style, with a small fridge, a new table, pink cushions, a new futon with a pink bed set, new toilet, sink, bathtub, even a little stove and groceries. About two months and she had gotten totally used to everyday life here in Tokyo, during that time that had pasted Rin learned Kagome went to college and today would be her first day back. She heard commotion from outside she went to her window then pulled back the curtains and saw Kagome surrounded by three girls, Rin decided to go out today.

She put on a medium blue yukata with light pink flower petals dancing around the sleeves and the shoulder, Rin had her hair split into three sections. She brought two sections in front to frame her face and the last section in the back was brought to a high middle bun with elegant combs holding it in place and little jewel flowers decorating her bun. She put on her tabi socks then her sandals and she nearly forgot to grab her little coin purse as she left her house. She walked towards the main house and heard a meow and looked at her feet to see she was being escorted by the shrine's cat Buyo.

Rin smiled and then picked up her pace trying to pass by Kagome without being caught; Kagome would wanna show Rin off to her friends and everything. After all Kagome showed her off to total strangers who were friendly with them. However she wasn't so lucky she saw Kagome and her friends going into house however one with really short her "Kagome a girl is here at your house!"

Kagome's voice was heard from inside the house "Oh tell her the shrine is closed please!" Yuka did just that and smiled looking at Rin " Okay well you need to leave the shrine is closed today." Rin looked at the woman she still didn't like humans and only liked the Higurashi's for being nice, but this girl Rin already didn't like "I like here so I shall come and go as I please." Yuka got angered right away and walked over and stared at the girl putting her fists on her hips "How dare you lie, Kagome doesn't have anyone living here!" Rin looked at the woman before her and looked away "You're wasting my time. I'm going else here." Rin smiled and walked away she felt being immortal she was above the ordinary mortals. Then Rin felt a had grab her arm and Rin felt threatened and pushed her off "Don't touch me!"

Kagome ran outside and saw Rin and Yuka arguing and ran to them "Hey Yuka she is my cousin she lives here!" Yuka huffs and stares at Rin then looks at Kagome "But this girl has no respect! But she is nothing like you or you mom." Rin looked away and walked down the nearby stairs "Kagome I'll be back later." Rin had to go to a doctor to get a checkup and she smiled on the way there she looked at the sign of her doctor office where she would now go to.

Rin looked at the steps carefully walking up each one, she made it up the steps very gracefully and smiled entering it was a place that Kagome had recommended. She made it past a few doors and saw a counter with a woman who wore what was called scrubs as she typed on a computer. Rin walked up to her and spoke in a quiet voice "I have an appointment under Mai Ichinose. " Rin smiled being told by the girl wearing scrubs that were of flowers while her chestnut hair went to rest at her shoulders, that was one thing she didn't understand. She saw long hair as beautiful, graceful and ladylike. She couldn't understand why women would want short hair, however this wasn't her era.

"Go to the third door on the left, the doctor should be in to join you in a minute or two." Rin nodded and went in she managed to find and open the door, she went to the examination bed and crawled on it and waited for her doctor to come in. Rin heard a the door knob turn and her head looked up from the pregnancy pamphlet she had been reading as she waited, she had watched the clock and it wasn't just a minute or two. She had sat there waiting for fifteen minutes and managed to reread the pamphlet well over four times.

The doctor was young and handsome however those things didn't impress Rin in the slightest, her soul was fused to another never allowing her to see anyone the way she saw her mate. She hoped in time she could fully remember him, her heart ached to be with him. However the problem was she didn't know who 'him,' was. The doctor wore nice tan slacks and a light green long sleeve shirt then he wore a white doctor's coat and his name tag.

'Dr. Hojo.'

"So miss Ichinose, how have you been?"

"Well."

"I see now please lay down and let me do a sonogram, since you are far enough along you will not need a vaginal instrument for the sonogram. We will be able to do a sonogram if you just show me your belly, I will even leave the room and even give you a robe if you need."

"No, need I have a two piece under piece for my yukata. However please leave the room all the same."

"Yes, I will be right outside."

"Alright." Rin watched as the doctor with chestnut hair and hazel eyes left the room, Kagome said it was amazing that he was a doctor so quick. However he went to a boys high school and studied non-stop making him skip many grades and become a doctor much much quicker than normal. Kagome was a junior in college right now and he was already a doctor, his motives however were only to impress Kagome and to show her that he was a reliable and dependable husband. So Kagome and him celebrated and he asked for them to date and she turned him down, after that he again just dove into his new career he had worked hard to get.

Rin laid on the table her yukata, obi and the obi accessories all nicely folded on the chair. Rin pulled her bottom under yukata skirt down a few inches and her top under yukata up a bit to reveal her belly, there was a voice on the other end of the door speaking.

"May I come in?"

"Yes."

Hojo quickly entered so no one would walk by the door and see, he knew how shy and traditional Rin was. He explained what each object was for as he rubbed the jelly on her belly, Rin watched as Hojo moved a stick like thing over the jelly and he didn't looked at her as he did it. This made Rin feel better having no eyes on her, he was staring at what looked like a Tv screen and she stared too 'What is he looking at? I can't see it.'

Suddenly a smile grew wide on his face and he tapped on the screen "See that black spot there with the tiny sliver outline?" Rin nodded but realized that he wasn't going to look at her and instead spoke up "Yes, I see it." Hojo smiled and tapped on the screen once more "See that whitish- grey area inside it?" Rin nodded tilting her head to get a better angle to look at it " That there Mai, that there is your child."

Rin smiled happily life…life was still in her, Hojo finally turned and looked at Rin "Would you like to know the gender?"
