Rin smiled it had been three years already since the birth of her daughter Chiestuka, at first Rin had no idea what to name her daughter but she knew it had to be a name for a noble princess. She used three different characters to create a unique name, she wanted her daughter to have meaning. Chi for thousand, Estu for Joy and Ka for Child. Chiestuka meant Thousand joy child. Rin decided on the name thinking 'I might not be with my mate, I may be in a strange world I do not like, I may not have anyone I fully trust… but I know this child will bring me a thousand joys with just a giggle or a smile from her will light up my entire day and the thought of giving up will never cross my mind.'
Rin smiled her daughter slept soundly in the early morning, Rin woke up able to sleep that night she had a dream and in a flash an image crossed her mind. She smiled walking into the spare room she used for painting and grabbed a canvas pulling it into her lap and using a pencil to outline her idea. She looked around the room taking a breath and seeing all her past work, within the three years living here she had painted many different things. She kept her favorites in this room, one a portrait of her daughter as a new born and then another she painted this year of her daughter, some other pictures of flowers or nature scenes. Her favorite things of nature to paint were sakura blossoms and Mount Fuji, that was one thing that was the same in this world and in her era, mount Fuji was present in both.
Rin smiled and picked up a brush dipping it in the paint she drew a single right eye and dipped her paint in gold and dark brown painting golden iris and then went in more detail drawing lines in the iris and finished with a black pupil. She outlined the eye with black and added lashes, she then used a pale skin tone that was like alabaster and finished that part quickly then used some light grey and white for paint hair around the frame around his eye. However the whole canvas only showed small section around the right eye. She wasn't able to see much in that dream but when she woke she had tears in her eyes and the word 'Mate,' hummed through her head.
She was happy more than grateful that she had even remembered this much of her mate it made her happy to even have an idea of what he looked like. Rin smiled about three years ago Kagome and Inuyasha a month or two before her daughter was born Kagome went through he well and her and Inuyasha haven't come back yet, Kagome had said that her and Inuyasha wanted to mate and live there. She was thankful they had helped her get here, and she couldn't tell them to stay here at the shrine. She had no right to command what they do with their lives, however it made her said a woman she had been starting to trust to leave with her new mate. Inuyasha and Kagome hadn't even seen Chiestuka, Rin was happy and proud of her daughter's kind heart and beauty she wanted for them to meet her.
Rin looked at the wet painting and then reached around undoing her ponytail to keep her thigh black hair back in a ponytail, however the creaking of a board made her turn around. She smiled looking to see a little girl in a white night yukata standing in the doorway yawning as she rubbed her eye "Mommy?" The girl was different than a half demon, she was stronger. However Kagome's gramps has become quite the demon expert due to vigorous studying, and he explained to Rin what his theory was. He believed due to the father being a full demon and the mother being immortal, along with having that poison enter her at the early stages of pregnancy and the strange changes that happened to Rin after she passed through he well that it added up to a stronger bloodline. She was not only half demon and half immortal she also had about a quarter of the well's energy in her as well.
Rin was also stronger than a normal immortal. Rin had a new ability a physic ability to pick through a person's mind and read what is on their mind, however the only one who knew this was Chiestuka. Her daughter also had a physic ability and is able to see the future, however not long into the future only a few minutes five at most and it depends on what the person decides the future can always change.
However Rin found she couldn't use her powers on her daughter, Chiestuka. It seemed Chiestuka couldn't use powers on her mother, Rin either. However they had no other family members so they weren't sure if it only applied to them who shared Rin's blood or if it applied to their whole family. However Rin wasn't sure if she had any family other than her mate and her daughter.
Rin smiled at her daughter taking in the sight of her, her daughter had beautiful white hair that seemed to have just a tint of light blue making it an off white color with cute little doggy ears like Inuyasha's. Rin's daughter also has a single dark blue crescent moon on her head and she had a pair of maroon stripes on each cheek. The top stripe right under her eye stretched out a bit before it curved down ward, then there was a shorter strip under that one curving upwards.
She smiled and walked over to her mother who was sitting down on the floor, Chiestuka smiled looking over her mommy's shoulder and smiled pointing to the picture "What that?!" Rin smiled at her daughter, despite her pregnancy going by and having her child at six months Rin's daughter aged like a normal human she was three and acted and appeared three. Full demons seemed to age quickly in their childhood, however Chiestuka was different aging like a normal human.
Her little ears flickered from accidently touching her mother's hair "What is that?" Rin smiled she was trying to teach her child to speak properly and wouldn't answer until her daughter corrected herself "This painting is a painting of your father's eye."
"Daddy's eye?!"
"Yes, Daddy's." Rin smiled a soft smile her daughter and her often when outside to the market and other places like the park. However Rin had to put makeup on her daughter's face to hide her marks, if a person saw them then it would arise a lot of suspicion. Her light blue hair caused attention however she just said it was birth defect similar to albinos, she hated lying however Kagome had warned her that this era was dangerous for her daughter. Rin wanted to go back to her own era however what village would take them in? How would they live? How would they earn money for food? Could they even protect themselves? Their enemies wouldn't just be humans, but demons too.
Rin looked at her child and smiled "What would you like to do for your birthday, Chiestuka?" The little girl smiled hugged her mommy "To be with you!" This made her mother's heart soar with joy "We will be together, but I was wondering do you want a certain toy or book? Would you like to go to a toy store or an amusement park? We could even go to the aquarium." Chiestuka smiled and touched her mommy's hair "I want long hair like mommy's, it's prwetty!"
"I'm afraid you have to wait for that my little joy child."
"Joy child?"
"Yes, you make mommy very happy. She loves this day, because it's when mommy got the best gift in the universe." Chiestuka smiled real wide and hid behind her mother's hair pretending it was her own "Mommy's prwetty hair?!" Rin smiled and reached around and pulled her little one in her arms cuddling her "You. Today was the day mommy met you." Chiestuka smiled and looked at her mommy thinking of what she could ask for, Rin looked down feeling her daughter's ears twitch "Mommy can we go get some ice cream? Oh and pizza! And see pretty places?!" Rin smiled thinking of the perfect place Rin had read up on it and knew her daughter's wishes could be met at one place.
"Okay, you go get dressed in the new kimono mommy had made for you."
It was a beautiful winter, December 11th. Rin smiled and dressed in a yukata with a pink yukata with red blossoms with yellow middle on the blossoms, there were two different shades of pink a light shade and a dark shade in a checker pattern. She had a fur piece around the neck of her kimono to keep her warm, she wore white table socks and sandals. Her obi was dark purple and had light purple tiny flower pattern on the obi, she had a beautiful string that was black with a bright salmon colored flower with two little flowers on each side of the salmon one.
Chiestuka wore a medium blue kimono with snowflakes scattered across the material and with lavender purple flowers petals all over, she also had a white pelt of fur around the neck of her kimono. Her obi was a dark blue that matched her crescent moon, and it was plain. However she had a sliver shimmering thread around her obi with little two snowflakes instead of flowers, and Chiestuka wore tabi socks with sandals also. Chiestuka tried to do her hair into a bun and smiled seeing her mommy wearing pink and purple eyeshadow with blush on her cheeks and red lip gloss on her small full lips. Rin's hair was up thanks to gold combs and gold flowers decorating the beautiful combs alone with them being painted with beautiful designs. Rin's hair was half up half down, showing its grace and its length.
"Would you like me to do your hair baby girl?"
"Yes, Mommy I want mommy's hair."
"Well I want your hair."
Chiestuka smiled and tilted her head "My hair?" Rin nodded as she showed her daughter to go sit at a small half desk, Rin sat right behind her and used a small turtle shaped comb to brush her hair "Yes, it's a beautiful color. Very beautiful." Rin smiled she was able to put her daughter's hair up half up half down like her own, however she held it in place with a silver pin with a lavender flower on the end of it. Rin smiled and grabbed her coin purse and smiled making sure she had enough money, she walked over to the door and turned to see her daughter holding a little hand sewn doll her mother had made her for her last birthday.
"Mommy can I please not wear a hat you just made my hair really pretty."
"I suppose this one time is fine, but try to keep them from moving. If they don't move people will think they are just on a head band and not real, if people ask about your demon marks just say you are playing dress up."
"Okay, mommy."
Rin smiled the Higurashi's were away at Souta's school concert and weren't able to be here. Chiestuka smiled walking side by side with her mother, even hand in hand. They walked down the stairs and made it to the subway station, they look for a seat and see its pretty full and so Rin finds a spot to sit and pats her lap. Chiestuka smiled understanding and hopped on her mother's lap, she smiled looking at her dolly. Chiestuka often got looked at in strange ways and it made her feel better to pretend like she didn't notice. She stopped petting her doll and whispered to her mom "Mommy the train is going to hit the brakes hard cuz of icy snow." Rin uses one arm to wrap around Chiestuka's waist and with the other hand held onto her seat. An attendant was walking around checking on other's and she smiled getting ready to speak up, however as she took a breath the train slammed to a stop.
Rin smiled happy she her daughter had informed her of the sudden stop sure to come. The train sat paused for a while, and a sitting just across from her a woman spoke to Rin with a smiling face "Your hair is really beautiful how did you grow it out so young?"
"I never cut it, and I make sure I eat healthy."
"I see, so you look like you're about my age right?"
Chiestuka kept to herself playing with the doll however she could sense her mother's attitude change. Rin smiled at the girl 'This girl had no cruel motives however she is looking at Chiestuka, with judging eyes.' Rin spoke as if nothing were wrong and smiled "I am around your age, I'm eighteen." The woman smiled and looked at Chiestuka next and spoke "Are you going somewhere fun with your big sister?" Chiestuka looked up at Rin before speaking she received a nod "We are going to a fun place."
"I see so what is your name little girl?"
"Chiestuka Ichinose."
Rin smiled this girl so far has no thoughts other than thinking Chiestuka strange however. The woman spoke happily, she sore a pair of jeans and green sweater with short shoulder black hair and a wood cap, she had brown eyes. The woman spoke to Rin "My name is Yuki Hama. I see so is your guys mother nagging you like mine is nagging me?"
Rin smiled she was proud of having Chiestuka as her daughter and she had spoken to a lot of mortals in this time and many of them are fake. Rin smiled and shook her head "No, my parents have long left this world. I wished that Chiestuka could have met her grandparents." Chiestuka smiled looking up at her mommy and hugged her "But I'm okay because I'm here with mommy." Yuki Hama smiled and spoke shocked "So you are Chiestuka's mother?" Rin nodded and then she heard the mortals thoughts loud and clear 'A child so young?! Man I bet she was the high school slut. Probably doesn't even know who the father is. Ha ha ha, I mean just look at her daughter what a little freak! Bet she wasted her life.'
"I was raised far away in a traditional village, my husband has passed he was the village headman so we moved here to live with my cousin for winter break. Also why is my personal life suddenly any of your business?"
People started to stare at them listening to their conversations, Rin narrowed her eyes at Yuki "I do not live my life to please you." Yuki whipped her hair away and narrowed her eyes back "Having a child so young, and you said you were married yet your husband passed? Lies, I bet your life is so miserable raising a child at your age." Rin sat Chiestuka down and stood gracefully she walked up to stand in front of Yuki "My name is Mai Ichinose." Yuki blinked in disbelief and stared at the child behind her and then at her "The Mai Ichinose, as in the painter?"
Rin responded with a glare and speaking calmly "I think I have done quite well for myself, becoming a well-known painter in three years supporting my child very well. Since her father is not of this world I'm mother and father both, also I'm happy just to have a part of my husband. Chiestuka and I live well and peaceful, however I know much more of a lady thank yourself."
"Yuki Hama, you are dating a boy named Hito Iyazaki. However you have not even kissed him yet due to you are also dating Ganta Chiru and you are sending certain pictures to a boy named Kyoya Yamazaki. Yuki I married and then had my child, however I'm sure if you're not careful you will have a child before marriage. Isn't that why you are upset with my child and myself, is because you are worried that if you don't have other proof that you are pregnant too. However do you know who the father is?"
Everyone sat there and stared in shock and Yuki looked ghostly pale, Chiestuka smiled and looked over at her mother. She stared off into space seeing that the future is possible 'One future where the girl remains quiet, another where people praise mother, and another where the girl runs away in tears.' Rin held her daughters hand and moved up into another section, they walked to the other section hearing soft claps and seeing nods of approval. All the ones who were praising her were parents.
Without any more problems they had managed to make it to their destination, since Chiestuka couldn't see the future based on her mother's decisions she wasn't sure where they were going. However her answer was soon answer the train started again and the distance wasn't much further. Rin got off the train holding her daughter in her arms because this station was far too busy to let her daughter walk, she could get lost or separated. As they made their way out of the station Rin smiled and pointed to the sky it was all a light grey just an off white color as the snow floated down.
Rin walked to the destination of theirs it wasn't far Chiestuka smiled looking at the tall building "WOW! Look mommy! Such a weird building!" Rin smiled down at her daughter an giggled nodding "Yes, it's called Tokyo Tower. They have many fun places in the building under it." Her daughter smiled up at her and went wide eyed "Like what?" Rin smiled looking at the building and pointed towards the building with her head "Well like museums, an aquarium, Restaurants, little stores here and there, then the amusement park. However since its outside and it's snowing I don't think it is open."
They got inside the building and Chiestuka was set down, they got many different looks however Rin and her daughter were used to this and ignored them. Rin smiled as they went to the aquarium first, inside Chiestuka grabbed her kimono skirt and looked up at her mother "Are we going to drown?" Rin smiled and looked at her daughter, she thought her daughter would be amazed by the fish and all the amazingly large tanks.
"No, honey. Why do you worry?"
"Well we are in with the fish and fish live in water."
"There is glass, see?" Rin walked over with her daughter and placed her hand on the glass showing her daughter there was nothing to fear. This caused Chiestuka to have a big smile and all her pervious fear seems to have no trace. Chiestuka was amazed by the coral reef fish, she smiled and looked up at her mommy and spoke "They are so pretty! And colorful! Like a rainbow!" Rin smiled and nodded and pointed own another fish "Yeah look at that one."
"Wow, Mommy say it with prwetty words." Rin knew her child was only three and so wasn't able to speak as well as her mother yet. Chiestuka liked it when Rin spoke with grace "These fish here have the same color and shine like the threads from your kimono, there natural beauty knowns no bounds. Just like you my beautiful child, happy birthday." Chiestuka smiled and hugged her mother's legs Rin wrapped her arms around ther child, they went through he rest of the aquarium. Got some ice cream and hit a few stores before going home after all she was three and she needed sleep. Once they got home Rin went to the fridge and pulled out a cake she made.
Rin smiled watching her daughter blow out her candles, a question buzzed in her head 'I wonder what she wished for. I hope I was able to grant it today, I got her some new toys and children's books. She had a lot of fun on our trip today too. I wonder what she wished.' Chiestuka smiled eating a small slice her mother gave her and then served herself a piece.
Chiestuka smiled looked at the last strawberry as she ate it 'I had fun today but I wish my daddy was here with us. Mommy stood up for him today and she stood up for me too, if mommy is that strong I wonder how strong daddy is.'
