Sorry this took so long to do. I had a lot of writer's block that had to pen down other ideas for stories before I could work on this again. Plus I'm really bad with getting distracted and procrastinating. Gaming doesn't really help either. But I finally did it. I finally got a chapter written. I just have to hope I won't spend as long on the next chapter.
Hope you guys like it.
Chapter 23: The Summit
Now that they were all inside the shrine building itself, and Michael had turned out the light, Ben was able to get a better look at him. It kinda amazed him how many of these species looked so human. Michael had long blond hair that vanished past the collar of his mantle and cool green eyes a darker shade than his own. Since the robe wasn't fluttering around Ben could see that he was actually rather skinny under it. And the robe itself was mostly red and white, with an orange cape covering it. Basically, it was pretty much what he expected a high ranking angel would've worn, kinda like how kings were always expected to wear crowns and fur-lined robes. He even had the standard glowing halo.
"First off, on behalf of the entire Supernatural community I would like to formally apologise for all the trouble you've been inflicted with, Mr Tennyson." Michael said. His voice was a bit higher than he expected, and a lot more fluttery. "While we had considered bringing you over for something truly dire, we would've brought you as yourself. This was just unnecessary."
"Yeah well, I've gotten used to it." Ben replied. He didn't want to sound ungrateful to the leader of the Angels, but he hoped he was offering to change him back to normal. "Just zap my manhood back, and we'll be square."
Michael smiled sadly. "While I would love to do so, I'm afraid that the gods that altered you are uncooperative. They're using some of their power to block us off. In time, I hope they'll be more reasonable. But for now, I'm afraid you're stuck."
"So if you're not here to turn Ben back to normal, what are you here for?" Issei asked. Michael gave a warmer smile as a glowing orb appeared between them. The orb expanded until it filled the room, and the light faded to reveal a sword hovering in the air. It was a thin blade decorated with a blue/purple triangle on the side, along with a four-pronged hilt made to look like dragon claws. Ben guessed it was powerful or something.
"I heard about your reputation as the weakest Red Dragon Emperor host in history, and so I hoped to grant you a boon to bolster your strength. This blade is our world's version of Ascalon, also known as the Dragon Slayer. While it's nowhere near as powerful as Ben Tennyson's version, it still earned its title fairly. I had hoped that you would assimilate it into your Boosted Gear and use it in times of tribulation." Ouch. For a good guy, he was kinda brutal about the truth.
"It's not for a lack of trying, I tell you." Issei groaned. "But that still hurts a lot."
"Hey, don't worry about it." Ben tried to cheer him up. "That just means that you're the underdog. And underdogs always come out on top." Issei smiled at him, grateful for the encouragement. "But there's something bothering me about this. I get that you don't really hate Issei for being a Devil and want to smite him. But I doubt you'd normally go out of your way to hand such a powerful weapon to another species without a very good reason."
"You are just as wise as I hoped. While what you just said is true, I was watching your fight against Kokabiel. You all put your lives on the line to stop him from starting another war, one no side would've won. But it is painfully clear that your powers are not completely up to the task. And frankly, we're worried that your Ascalon will go on to become an even greater threat to us. By entrusting this to Issei, we hope that you will have other options before using Ascalon in a fight." Well, Ben wasn't going to complain. That kind of power was… intoxicating. He was afraid that if he used it a third time, he might not come back from it. "And if we are all busy fighting each other, others might use that chance to attack as well. Things who were forced to retreat for Humanity's safety."
"So this summit isn't just about getting everyone to shake hands and play nicely with each other?" Issei asked.
"Indeed. It is also about forging an Alliance against these threats. Such things have happened before, like when Ddraig and Albion refused to stop their own fight. We all put aside our differences then to best both of them and seal them away. It is my hope that we can do so again."
Akeno stood up from where she had been sitting. "Issei, this is the part where you accept his gracious gift."
"Huh? Oh, yeah totally. If it'll help us and stop Bri from having to use Ascalon, then sure. I accept." He stood up too as Michael made the sword hover over to him. "But, accepting and assimilating a Holy Sword? That's impossible right?" He looked down at his Sacred Gear, the emerald gem flashing as Ddraig talked to him. "Alright. Then let's get it done Ddraig." He grabbed the handle of the glowing sword, causing it to started glowing even brighter with gold and red light. Ben was forced to avert his eyes as the light filled the room and lit up the landscape outside. When he turned around and blinked the spots from his eyes, He was actually amazed. The blade of Ascalon was attached to Issei's hand, right above his fingers. It looked pretty badass, to be honest.
"It is done. Now I must take my leave. Farewell, Issei Hyoudo and Ben Tennyson. Hopefully when our paths cross again we can offer you more aid." He spread his glowing wings, lighting up the room before vanishing into a cross of light. And even that faded away in a second. Pretty flashy exit.
"Now, how about we have some tea to relax?" Akeno offered, smiling at them. Ben would've liked to have taken her up on that, but he's seen the ways she looked at Issei. While he didn't know if he returned those feelings, he figured it might be best to give them some alone time.
"Sorry, I figured I might go and do some walking." He apologised. "It was nice meeting an Angel and watching Issei get a cool sword, but I think I've done everything I need to do here. Catch you guys later."
Hopefully nothing else was going to happen.
(**/*\**)
He spoke too soon. He barely made it back to town before his instincts were screaming at him. A prickling sensation moved up and down his spine as he felt like he was being watched. He peeked over his shoulder, but didn't see anyone looking like they were watching him.
Calm down, Ben. He scolded himself. You're forgetting that you're a beautiful girl. It was probably just someone planning on asking you out. But this felt different than normal. It was almost… malevolent. You don't do the superhero business for years without picking up a sixth sense that someone's planning on ambushing you. He stopped at a nearby stand in the flea market, cooing over a pretty mirror. Lifting it up and pretending to look at his reflection, he was actually angling it to look back down the street. But he still couldn't see anything weird. It might just be his overactive imagination. He brought the mirror anyway, humming like a normal girl as he kept one eye on the mirror. If only the crowd dispersed a bit, he might be able to…
There. Looking right at him was a tallish boy with spiked dark hair and glasses. He was wearing what was obviously a wizard robe, open to show a school uniform underneath. He didn't recognise which school it was for, but this guy was way too obvious in watching him.
Then again, maybe his first thought was right. This guy could've just spotted a good-looking girl and was smitten with her. All the same, he used the rush of the crowd to sneak off towards the park. Once he was clear, he started moving faster to try and get away before the guy found him again. He swerved round a small blond girl looking through a magazine before heading into the park itself. He looked back to see if he had been followed, only to look back to see a big man blocking her way. It took a lot of flailing to stop herself from crashing into him, his nose a few inches from the guy's chest. He stepped back to take a better look at him. The guy was almost like a Tetramand he was so muscular. His clothes did little to hide his physique, instead somehow accentuating it. He was quite a bit taller than Ben, his dark mane shadowing his chiselled features. If it wasn't for the fact he had a friendly grin on his face, Ben might've felt nervous.
"I'm so sorry about that." He apologised. "I really should've been watching where I was going."
"That's alright." The man said in a jovial voice. "It happens sometimes. Perhaps we should introduce ourselves. I am Heracles, named after the greatest hero of old."
"Name's Bri, named after my grandmother or something." His handshake revealed that this guy was just as strong as he looked, maybe even stronger. Without regenerative powers Ben could tell this guy could crush his hand to dust in his grip. "Now, I really need to get going. I'm going to be late if I don't hurry."
"Oh, but I haven't introduced my friends yet. They'll be interested in meeting you, Ms Tennyson." Alarm bells started ringing like crazy. This guy knew his last name. Whoever this 'Heracles' really is, he was waiting for him. He tried to pull free, but as expected the grip was too strong. He looked around to see if there was anyone to shout out for. But the only other people were the boy watching him and that blond girl he dodged on the way here. And 'here' turned out to be the very spot Issei had died. And the two of them had fought the Fallen Angels.
He hoped it wasn't some kind of omen.
"I don't know who you creeps work for, but I'm not going down easily." Ben tapped into some of Humungosaur's strength, allowing himself to force Heracles' hand open and jump away. As he turned to find another way out, he saw that the three of them were blocking all the normal ways out. He'd have to go through the forest to escape.
Well, as escape route went it wasn't the worst he'd had been through. It was actually pretty normal for him by now.
"I know what you're thinking Ms Tennyson, but this isn't an attack." Glasses guy said. "We just want to talk to you." A dark mist started billowing everywhere through the forest, limiting everything to just this open space. He was less willing to just run into that without knowing what it was. "I have to say, I'm rather impressed now that I've met you in person. Few could best Heracles in terms of strength. Even if he was holding back to avoid hurting you."
"Yeah. That was awesome Bri-chan." The blond girl said, smiling like a star-struck fan. "You're just as strong and great as we all heard. I loved it when you managed to beat a Devil and a Fallen Angel pretty much by yourself."
"I'm flattered. Really. But I'm just curious as to what you guys are? Devils? Fallen? Some other group of near-humans I haven't heard of before?"
Glasses smiled at him again, but it was more forced than before. "I'm afraid you're mistaken. We are pure humans, just like you are. We are living proof that Humanity cannot simply be grinded underfoot by them. As for introductions, I suppose it was rather rude of us to not do that first since we all know who you are. I am Georg, and this fair lady is Jeanne. We are a part of the Hero Faction."
The Hero Faction? That… that didn't actually sound too bad. Sure they needed to work on their meeting attempts, but that didn't instantly make them bad. "Wow. A Hero Faction. Is it a bit like the leagues you find in comic books?"
"You could say that. We are after all, simply a group of people with the strength and courage to defend our home and our people. Our leader at first didn't realise you were actually human until he heard that your Devil Piece wasn't announced for your 'siblings'." His smile was warm again. "I don't think there's anyone around who's Sacred Gear could create copies."
"Yeah. And we heard you've got a really powerful sword that managed to beat a Fallen Angel leader Bri-chan." Jeanne was literally bouncing with excitement. "That was so cool. I bet it was all like 'Puny mortal, you shall not best me', and you were all 'Taste my Sword of Justice and Dragon Slaying, loser'. And then you knocked him seven ways to Hell all on your own."
"Well… It wasn't quite like that." Ben wasn't willing to admit just how far he was willing to go with Ascalon. "And before you ask, I'm not using it again. It's far too powerful. The guy who used it before me accidently destroyed a world with it."
"Even so, your Sacred Gear is easily as strong as our own. We'd be honoured to have you join us." Georg said.
"Hold on." Heracles interrupted. "There's some things we need to talk to her about, Right?"
"Right. Thanks for reminding me Heracles. You see, we're just wondering about your relationship with the Devils. And the House of Gremory."
Ben shrugged. "They're my friends. What of it?"
"Well that's a bit confusing. See, Devils can't be friends with humans. It's against their very nature."
"Yeah? Have you spent a couple of months hanging out with them?" Ben realised why this group seemed so familiar. They reminded him of the Forever Knights. People who only wanted to defend their home and loved ones from dangerous aliens, only to end up going overboard about it. "I get that some of them are monsters or at least deserve a good butt-whooping. But so do some humans too. They're not pure evil. They have loved ones too, just like us."
"Just because they have loved ones doesn't mean they won't kill us for fun. I'm sure the Nazis had loved ones too."
"Really? The Nazi argument? That's what you're using?"
"He has a point Bri-chan." Jeanne spoke up. Devils. Fallen Angels, Dragons. They just want to hurt us. We know that Kokabiel wanted to destroy this whole city just because he could. We have to drive them out by force."
"They're not all evil. That's just a few of them. Look, they're going to have a peace summit with the Angels to stop all the fighting. If they were really as evil as you think, why would they want peace?"
"Just because we can't see an evil plot doesn't mean that it isn't there. But given your tone am I to assume this is your final decision?"
"Pretty much. I get that you think you're doing the right thing and I respect your reasons. They're just outdated and frankly hypocritical. Si I guess we'll just go our separate ways." He turned to leave, but Heracles stepped in front of the path out again.
"I'm afraid not. I don't really want to do this, but you're too dangerous to leave with them. I'd love to have you join willingly, but we can always 'persuade' you if we have to. It would be easier for everyone if you just come quietly." Georg at least had the decency to look guilty about what he was doing. Already he and his group were miles better than the usual Forever Knights he used to deal with.
"Aw. I really wanted Bri-chan to be like my big sister. Please don't hold this against us." Jeanne said as she pulled a rapier from somewhere.
Ben smiled. "Only if you don't hold me kicking your butts against me." They charged straight for him, but Ben was ready. Azmuth told him it would be better for his neural pathways if he used the Omnitrix dial again, stopping any accidents from happening again. It only took Ben a few seconds to find the alien form he wanted. The heroes had to shield their eyes from the green flash, but Heracles just kept charging.
He was definitely surprised to find his hand caught in an iron grip.
"Time for Humungosaur to show you you're not the toughest man in the room anymore." Ben growled, grabbing hold of his arm and throwing him through the fountain. Heracles sat in the drink, spitting out water before erupting with loud laughter. Great, he was one of those fighters. Ben grunted as Jeanne slashed him with her rapier, leaving a shallow groove in his skin. It wasn't deep enough to draw blood, but it still stung. He swung his fists at her, but she was easily nearly as fast as Yuuto. All Humungosaur's strength wasn't going to help if he couldn't hit her. His back burned slightly as Georg threw fireballs at him. These guys were good. If he changed into a form capable of handling one of them, it left him open for the others. He swung at Jeanne again just in time to see Heracles charging at him, glowing with energy now. Deciding to take him out first, Ben charged for him too, their fists colliding. An explosion filled the air, sending Ben flying and his hand feeling dead. Once he had landed after skidding across the ground, he looked to see it was almost blackened. And Heracles was charging for him again. Ben got back onto his feet and used his natural ability to grow in size, strength, and toughness. This time, when Heracles punched his leg out from under him, it only stung a little bit. Ben grabbed him with both hands and slammed him into the ground, ignoring the attacks from Jeanne and Georg. He slammed him again and again, hoping to knock him senseless and have one less problem. But Heracles wouldn't give in. In fact, his body glowed brighter until there were several lances in the air around him. When they peppered Ben's body, he was forced to drop him and try to defend himself. Belatedly, he realised that all he did was make himself an even bigger target.
"Pretty cool Sacred Gear, right?" Heracles asked him. "And it's great when you're fighting hand-to-hand like I do. Some of the monsters I fight end up dead from a single punch."
"Oh Yeah?" Ben gritted out. "Well you're not the only one with explosive powers." Ben twisted the Omnitrix face, changing into Ultimate Humungosaur. He spun in a circle and slammed his club tail into Heracles, sending him flying with a yell. Before he even landed, Ben shifted one hand into a cannon and fired unstable bone pellets at him. The force of the shots actually pushed Heracles through a tree, leaving him groaning on the ground. Ben decided to make sure he wasn't getting back up any time soon. Taking a few potshots at the others to keep them occupied, he did a running leap towards the fallen hero, landing on top of him with his elbow. Heracles let out an explosive breath of air, before collapsing to a heap. Good. One down, two to go.
And XLR8 was perfect to counter Jeanne.
"That is so cool." She squealed as Ben changed into a familiar blue dino-creature. "I always thought a shapeshifting Sacred Gear would limit you to just one form. But you've got so many. When you finally join us, we're going to have so much fun."
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch." Ben replied, running right for her. She was good, he'd give her that. Her rapier managed to block most of his strikes. But it was all she could do to stop him from giving her a rapid-fire finish. She had no chance to fight back.
"I could say the same to you, Bri-chan. Blade Blacksmith." Another sword appeared in her other hand, allowing her to nick his arm before he could move away. His sleeve was now slightly stained blue from his own blood. Not giving him a chance to attack again, Jeanne chased him with her blades. Whenever Ben snatched one from her hands and threw it aside, she simply created another one to fight with. He needed something better than this. Something immune to blades.
He got it.
As Jeanne moved to slice him again, she was surprised to see his body turn into green slime. Her blade passed right through him as he wrapped around her body. Using the floating saucer that allowed him to move, he twirled her around and slammed into trees before dropping her next to Heracles. Then he lifted the heavy warrior to drop right on her. She only got out a squeak before she was trapped underneath. Now Georg looked rather nervous, being the only one left. Ben landed before him and turned back to normal.
"I'm giving you this chance to walk away." Ben said firmly. "If you follow me, or pick a fight with me, I will beat you as senseless as I managed to beat them. Now dispel this weird mist."
"I… I see no flaws with that logic." He admitted, the mist vanishing now. I can see why you were able to best such powerful opponents. But we aren't the only members of the Hero Faction. And you will join us."
"Yeah, yeah. I've heard that before."
(**/*\**)
Ben had to admit, when he heard about the peace summit he always thought it would be more flaunting what they were. Wings out, ceremonial weapons on the walls, armed guards, yadda yaddah. Instead, it was actually pretty normal looking. You'd almost think it was just a regular meeting between adults over some business arrangement. Well, except for the fact that Michael hadn't changed his appearance at all. He stood out like a sore thumb in this crowd. They did have a guard or two, probably more for show than anything else. Irina stood next to Michael, averting her eyes angrily from Xenovia. Right, he never actually thought about what she had thought of Xenovia joining up with them. In his defence, he was a bit unconscious from the fight at the time. Sona and the Vice-President were standing behind Leviathan, who was now looking more normal in a uniform than in her magical girl outfit. And behind Azazel was that Vali guy, the White Dragon. Ben didn't like him being here after he made it clear that he and Issei would be fighting each other at some point. Given how much trouble the others said he gave Ben when he had Ascalon, Issei wasn't going to be much of a match to him.
"Ah good. Everyone's here at last." Sirzechs said warmly. "This is my sister Rias and her retainers. And I'm sure everyone in this room is aware of Ms Tennyson. She will be representing Human interests in this meeting." Wait, really? No one told him that. Or if they had he couldn't remember it. He got that they allowed it because he was powerful enough to be a threat to them, but maybe they should choose someone who'll be living here. He planned on going home once he was done with whatever the gods needed him for. If it ever came along. "They all were the ones that fought against Kokabiel during his rampage."
"Impressive." Michael replied. "The fact that you all managed to survive against such a powerful member is miraculous. I thank you all for your hard effort."
"It wasn't really us. Bri was the one who managed to beat him in the end. We just kept him busy enough for her to attack him." Issei said.
"At which point she lost control of the power and nearly went on a rampage." Azazel noted. Ben blushed slightly as he said that. "While I apologise for Kokabiel's actions I do want to note that Ms Tennyson is just as much a threat with that sword of hers. Perhaps if she were to entrust it so all three of us I'd feel safer."
"Don't worry. I don't intend on using it ever again." Ben replied.
"If we could get back on track, Souna has the report I filed on the battle with her." Rias said. "It clearly details everything that happened leading up to the fight and what happened during it. It also details what Kokabiel was actually interested in doing for this fight."
"We've already seen them. Or at least I have. Rest assured he's currently frozen in the deepest levels of Hell. He won't be getting out of there anytime soon." Azazel replied. "But what's done is done. Without my approval I might add. I'd even wager that he wouldn't have tried to level the whole city if he knew I was staying here. Now that he's been dealt with, we can finally focus on more important matters. I'm sure we can all agree that our squabbles are pointless. None of us are strong enough to survive a second War, and frankly we're hurting the humans at the same time."
"Indeed." Michael agreed. "God and the Devil King are gone, and our War Generals have been dealt with. We have no one to command us to continue with this pointless struggle, save for those of us in this room."
"Of course, we should hear the opinions of the other powerful members in the room. The Dragon Emperors and Ms Tennyson. What do you three say?" Azazel asked them.
"War is pointless." Ben replied. "All it does is get a lot of people killed and no one comes out better off. Even if you all don't agree to peace I'll still put all my efforts into stopping any war you have."
"A wise answer. What say you Vali?"
"I don't care. All I'm interested in is fighting a worthy opponent." Vali smirked at Ben. "One who doesn't collapse halfway into the fight."
"Hey screw you. I nearly died a couple days beforehand. It was a miracle I was even capable of moving."
"Calm down you two. Vali, you don't really need a war to find strong opponents. I'm sure that Ms Tennyson is willing to have a rematch if it means no war." Ben nodded, still glaring at Vali for his words. He might not want to have a fight right now, but he still had his pride. "And what about you Issei? What do you think about this?"
"Me? Uh… Well I… I'm not really good at coming up with stuff on the spot. This is all a bit much for me." He laughed nervously.
"Then how about I make this easier for you? If we start fighting again, Rias Gremory would either be on the battlefield or more likely kept hidden in the palaces of Hell in case someone tries to use her as leverage. You won't be able to see her again, or have you way with her. But if there was peace instead, then we'd need to increase our numbers through contracts and reproduction."
"You… You mean baby making?"
"Bingo. Imagine how those training sessions would go. And you'd be able to do it every day."
"Hey! I'm standing right here." At least Ben wasn't the only one blushing, with Rias' cheeks bright red in embarrassment.
"Peace means a daily dose of Rias loving. War means no sexy time. You understand now?" Azazel kept talking like he didn't even hear her.
"Oh I understand alright." Issei had the dopiest grin on his face. "peace is our number one priority."
"Oh sure. The safety of humanity goes right over your head, but sexy time with Rias gets you on board." Ben said drily. At least Issei had the decency to look embarrassed at that.
"Sorry Bri. That's just the way I am. Although," He looked serious again, gazing at Michael, "I have a question for you Michael."
"Then speak. I am willing to answer any question you ask." Michael smiled at that, like he didn't have anything to hide.
"Asia. Why did you kick her out? She loves God more than anyone. It wasn't fair to her." Michael sighed, looked despondent now.
"I know it wasn't fair. You have to understand, when God died all we had left was a system. That system relied on miracles, protection, belief. Without the belief of the people, we can't help anyone. Even now, the church is barely holding on. And so as much as I despise it, sometimes we have to put the system before any single person."
"The needs of many outweigh the needs of the few." Ben understood what he meant. He didn't like it, but he got it. At least he thought so. "So since Asia could heal Devils and Fallen Angels along with Humans, you had to kick her out."
"I'm afraid so. Anything that could discredit the Church would negatively affect us too. It may seem harsh, but I do what I must for my people. Even if it means we have to lie and discredit people who never deserved it. If there was another way, I would take it in an instant." He turned to face Asia and Xenovia. "I ask of you to accept my forgiveness for such actions."
"Apology accepted." Xenovia replied. "While I loved my time at the Church, I've grown to enjoy my time as a Devil even more. And I know that they are as human as anyone. If I have any regrets, it would be for those who live in the fear that any single race could be pure evil."
Asia nodded. "I too have found friendship and happiness in becoming a Devil. I got to know good people, and use my powers whenever I choose instead of being told to use it."
"You have forgiving souls. I am grateful for that." It was such a touching moment Ben felt like crying.
But then there was crackling feeling in the air, and the Omnitrix activated on its own. It changed him into Clockwork as a purple aura surrounded the room. Aside from the leaders, Rias, Issei, Xenovia, Kiba, Irina and Vali, everyone else was frozen in the purple aura. Frozen in time.
"Wha… What's going on?" Issei asked. "Are they frozen? Are we under attack?"
"It looks like it." Sirzechs replied. "It appears that only those of us with greater power were able to resist the effect. But what I wonder is who could be behind this."
"I think I know." Ben said. "Earlier today I was attacked by a group calling themselves the Hero Faction. They're determined to defend Earth from supernatural threats that want to destroy us, and they hate Devils and Fallen Angels the most. They tried to recruit me, but I refused. I told them that you guys were having a peace summit to try and convince them they didn't have to attack, but that still doesn't explain how they knew where to look."
"Agreed. They must've gotten their intel somewhere else." The room suddenly shook as something struck at it. They all headed to the windows to see hundreds of robed people flying towards them on glowing circles. Some were floating normally, but others were upside down, or even sideways. An eye symbol on their hoods glowed, and they fired beam after beam at the building. The barriers were holding, but how much longer?
"Who are these guys? Are these part of the Hero Faction?" Issei asked.
"They're magicians. Humans who have learnt how to use magic of other races. Angel, Fallen, Devil. But it doesn't explain how they could stop time."
"It's probably the half-vampire kid. They coerced him the same way they tried with Ms Tennyson, and are forcing him to use it on the whole school. What a pain." Azazel sighed, looking more bored than anything else. Ben felt rage bubbling in him. These Magicians forced Gaspard to use his Gear against his will? He always had trouble controlling it. This might be too much for him. Ben watched grimly as the guards vanished in glowing light whenever a beam hit them. He hoped they were just being sent back home or something, to try and trap them all.
"We've got to take action, and fast." Sirzechs noted as a seal was destroyed. "Or else we won't be able to stop them. We need to get Gaspard away from them."
"I'll try something." Ben said, twisting the dial. If any situation required an Ultimate, then this was it. As the wave of energy passed over him, he started altering completely. Instead of being a bulbous feminine form, he was a wisp more like Ghostfreak's body. His energy trail was bright green, with curved gold plating forming his body. A complex 12 handed clock made up his chest, showing a curvy female form behind it. His arms were a mixture of cloth and metal, and he held a staff in one hand. The top of it was another 12 handed clock, while the bottom was the point of a clock hand. His head was hidden underneath a brown hood.
"It's time I showed them just how dangerous I can be." Ben said fiercely.
Woo. A new Ultimate form. I based this a lot on Clockwork from Danny Phantom. It'll basically be able to move across timelines and dimensions with even greater ease (kind of like how Maltruant can go to places even Paradox can't reach). Also it can affect time within affected time How, you might ask? I don't know. It just will be able to.
Now, a lot of stuff has happened out in the world since I wrote the last chapter. First and foremost, Highschool DxD Season 2 got an English dub. It's what I'm using for Episodes 10, 11, and 12.
Secondly, and probably more important, we saw the final episode of Ben 10 Omniverse. I don't know how accurate this is, but from what I've read it was the very last episode of the entire Ben 10 franchise. A shame really. I'd have watched another series.
My thoughts on Ben 10: Omniverse? It was great at first, the jokes were funny and Malware and Khyber were very effective villains. The action was great too, like how Ben managed to beat the Vengers with ease and just by leaving them alone, and we got to see awesome aliens too. But nearer to the end they started altering people just for the sake of a gag. Ben got hit with this the most, becoming a less competent hero and having practically everyone not give him the respect he deserved. But even Vilgax got hit with it. Was him running because Ma Vreedle told him to funny as hell? Yep. Was it also completely out of character and made him seem weaker than normal? Yep again. If they found a more middle ground between humour and dark like they did with Ben 10, it would've been awesome.
Oh, and I might be very busy in December for a while. My work is at a retail store (so you can guess how bad that'll get with extra hours) and I'm getting Dragon Age Inquisition tomorrow down here. That'll keep me busy for some time. I'll try my very best to get another chapter out before New Year, but no promises.
