I don't own any of the characters, CW and Eric Kripke do!

Beta for this Chapter: -

A/N: Hey there my loyal readers :)

So! I was faster this time, yippiiii :D. Sorry for the wait but I think this should be about the pace I can get away with uploading. I'd like to have it be every week though so watch out for that happening hopefully. This chapter is also not that long, it was written during NaNoWriMo (which I did sadly not finish) so all the following chapters were written in one setting, which was a good thing hopefully for the flow of the whole thing. It may not have been the best for the overall grammar and spelling but you're gonna have to deal with that since my beta is pretty busy rn. I still hope you like it, we're really getting close to the ending...

Enjoy~ :3

Chapter 26

I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

"Dean? DEAN!" Sam yelled. But he couldn't look for long as the demons were already getting up, or rather those who survived the holy flames. Where had his brother gone with Lucifer? There was thunder in the distance and they could all see the storm clouds gathering far away, as if drawn to a certain point.

It was obvious where the archangels were having their final showdown.

"He's trying to isolate the two of them so the damage isn't as devastating to the general population.", Gabriel explained while flashing another demon with his grace. "Lucifer will try to hinder him in that." Of course. Lucifer would try to kill as many humans as possible. Michael had seen this and tried to move away from them as Lucifer was also trying to target Michael's accomplices to spread his focus so thin that he was wide open. It was a good tactic, unfortunately and Sam could see why Michael fled to avoid it. But…

"We can't let him be with Lucifer on his own. What about the cage?" Sam thought about how Michael had explained the gate opening works. There will be a giant hole and everything in the proximity will be sucked into it, even angels can't withstand the pull completely. So how was Michael going to throw Lucifer into it without being pulled in himself?

"He's done it before, Sam. Don't worry." But Gabriel's voice was tense and it was not from the fighting. The demons were still gaining in number and even strength, as several of them occupied the archangel. Sam and the other hunters were in the back line, performing exorcisms and wielding all the weapons against demons they had. Several angel blades and the demon knife were some of them but there was holy water and even, in front of the motel room doors, some devil's traps. But in active battle, the hunter's techniques to hunt singular demons weren't as useful. The blades and the angel's grace were the more useful weapons to fight with right now. Sam had a hard time especially, as the demons were not only targeting him especially, they seemed to try and capture him, apparently still hell bent on making him Lucifer's vessel, even now. Or rather, especially now. They all knew that while Michael had his true vessel that wouldn't burn out, Lucifer's sure did and wouldn't hold out much longer. They wanted, no, needed Sam Winchester to take him in. But of course he wouldn't do that, not after everything that happened. What would it benefit him now? At first, he had thought about taking Lucifer in and using that to lure him into the cage. But now this plan seemed foolish. What was he thinking, that Lucifer let him gain control over his body after he let him in? No, Lucifer would never be so kind. Not like Michael was. Yes, after that talk with his brother he had accepted it, Michael was not harming his big brother. The archangel was a good force in the world and realizing that there were, after all, true angels out there and that the "chief" angel, Michael was one of them, even with the previously shown flaws, was giving him enough hope in a better world ahead. It was proving him that he didn't have to throw his own life away to catch Lucifer in that cage. There were ways to actually save the world from this evil creature that didn't involve everything he loved to crumble to dust and man, was he happy that that option existed.

"Sam!" a yell pulled him out of his thoughts and he felt a sudden pain in his shoulder. Damnit, he had let his guard slip. Some of the demons had brought guns from the houses of the people they possessed. Of course the hunters had guns as well but theirs were mostly filled with rocksalt or they were using the colt to shoot them in nonlethal ways. Sam held his shoulder and suppressed a shout. He felt Abby closer to him, guarding him for the moment. She had been the one to try and warn him but he had been in too deep, his movements too mechanical to register the long range weapon pointed at him.

"Shit, Sam, you have to pay more attention." Abby scolded him.

"I know." He blocked an attack with his unhurt arm, wielding the demon knife. "We have to get to where Dean is." The thunder and lightning in the distance was getting louder and if Sam didn't imagine things, he could feel the heat from all this distance as towers of flames were seen on the horizon. What were those two doing? With the atmosphere like this, all black, cloudy and grey and the demons around them, Sam truly felt like he was in the middle of the Apocalypse, far worse than that time they opened the Hell Gate and let some demons loose. No, this was real, this was on their ground, and this was where the people were. Real people were affected by this, real people were dying because these demons wanted earth to be theirs.

Their troop was falling back. Demons were storming in on their location by the dozens now and they could barely hold them back. From time to time angels arrived like Michael ordered them to but this wasn't the only battlefield and even here, the angels were having a hard time. Sam even saw a few die, their bright light filling the darkening air around them, adding to the gloomy atmosphere with the prints of wings forever embedded into the asphalt. It brought a bitter taste to his mouth, the realization that even angels weren't invincible. Not even Michael. They really had to get over there…

But his objectives were thrown to the wind when suddenly, Abby's scream tore through his ears again. This time though, it was not a scream of warning,

but of horror.

To be quite honest, Dean wasn't taking a big part in the whole fighting thing right now. Occasionally, he could glimpse a few seconds of consciousness but for the most part, Michael dominated for now. It wasn't because he didn't want Dean conscious but this was a full-out angel battle and Dean chose to not be part of it. Michael was fully capable of caring for himself and this really exceeded his abilities.

It was quite impressing too, their fighting. Dean found himself seeing things he had never imagined, pillars of flames, that magnificent burning sword, magic in its purest form being used by both angels.

In a short pause of fighting, Michael held his stomach, glancing towards Lucifer, who held his own. Both of them showed signs of wearing down but Michael was far better off, even with the stab wound he went into this battle with. Even with his vessel crumbling though, Lucifer didn't look like he was about to throw the towel.

"Give up, Luci." Michael panted "I don't want to kill you." It was true, he didn't. After all this, Lucifer was still his brother.

"Well, and that's where you're at the disadvantage, Mikey. Because I do." And Lucifer was in his face again, sword drawn and grin ever present. Lightning flashed overhead when their blades met and the pillars of fire lit up the sky, burning everything in their path, not even sparing the plants and sometimes houses around them. They were taking up a giant terrain by now, constantly trying to surprise each other by appearing directly behind the other, using their superpowers to a full advantage with Lucifer freezing every body part he could touch and Michael burning Lucifer's vessel where he could.

"I'm not going back in that cage, Michael.", Lucifer bellowed while storming in for another attack. "Do you know what that's like, being locked up that deep in the pit? No wait, you don't! Because you've lived an eternal life of being Daddy's favorite. Always flying around, enjoying life at home." The bitterness in his voice was evident but he paused for breath to talk. Michael raised an eyebrow.

"You're wrong, I do know." Lucifer seemed surprised by the answer but Michael wasn't finished yet. Dean was stirring, controlling their words now. "I've been down there for 40 years." Suddenly, Lucifer was laughing. Actually throwing his head back.

"Right! Lilith, my beautiful girl. She scored a Winchester brother once. What's that like? Sharing those memories, Michael? Not as pure as you'd like, is he?" at first, Michael just glared. Then he stepped a few meters closer, his hand tightening around the sword until the knuckles turned white.

"No, it's not pleasant. But as I told you before, I have accepted every inch of my vessel like you never would and never could. And it is for the same reason that you are going to lose this fight tonight."

And again, their weapons clashed and thunder filled the heavens.

"That's my mother. Oh god, that's my mother, Sam. How can that be my mother? She's dead, we burned her body." Both of them stared as the battlefield came to a sudden halt. Several new demons had arrived and their appearances made all of them stop. Abby stared at one of the women in horror. Sam stared at another one. Sarah. What was Sarah doing here? Did they kidnap her body? God, that was cheap and evil and-

"No way…that's my Mom too. But she's in heaven." Adam chimed in. Bobby stared at another woman that Sam identified as his wife that they had killed as a Zombie not so long ago. All the hunters were watching as more and more people they knew came from the crowd, black eyes and Sam felt bile rise in his stomach as he saw several possible faces from missions, out of their life. Was that Missouri? But she was on Dean's list! Was that..w-was that Dad? Oh no they didn't-

"It's an illusion, guys. Snap out of it."

A snap of two fingers disturbed them all, making them blink in confusion. There wasn't a mass of people in front of them anymore. Gabriel stood with his right hand raised, not fazed by the images at all. He was in the middle of the parking lot and directly in front of him, where all the illusionary people had dissappeard just a second ago, stood one demon and his eyes were an eerie green.

"Aww, Gabriel. Don't spoil all my fun."

"Sorry, Paimon. Not today. You know I'm immune to your tricks." Gabriel countered the man's bellowing voice. Paimon, as he called him, had such a powerful aura to him that even Sam could sense it. He emanated a darkness that made him cringe.

"I am Paimon, one of hell's kings. I command two hundred of hell's legions and you think you and a bunch of hunters can stop me, Gabriel?" the demon tilted his head. His face was strangely feminine while his body was broad shouldered. He stood alone but behind him there were more, so many more demons. Was it just him or did Gabriel look nervous? Well that wasn't good…

"Actually, he can." Came a voice from behind them. Sam whirled around. There, appearing in a flash of lightning striking down, was another angel. Sam knew he was an angel because lightning flickered around him like wings for a short second and his eyes glowed a bright white before he settled. He was in the body of an African American and Sam lifted an eyebrow. Wait, wasn't this-

"Raphael. You finally showed." Gabriel grinned, obviously in far higher spirits now. Great. If that was Raphael then all remaining archangels were on the battlefield now. Yay for them. But was that enough to beat Hell's 'kings' as they called themselves?

"Heaven is busy, brother. But I thought you might need some help down here." The archangel was serious, he was obviously not as used to smiling or grinning as Gabriel was. Maybe he didn't take vessels as often.

"That is much appreciated." Gabriel nodded and pointed in Paimon's direction.

"How did Lucifer get another knight of hell out? I thought we closed all the gates to the lowest levels?" Gabriel continued, his voice annoyed but concerned, too. Paimon just grinned, for now tolerating the conversation but he looked unconcerned at the arrival of another archangel.

"I do not know. Baal almost got out too. That was also not part of the plan." Raphael answered. Sam nodded in thought. Baal had been the demon that had turned that town to dust and ate children. He shared a gaze with Abby, who nodded as well. It was probably their luck that Dean had already harbored Michael back then. If that had been a king (or knight?) of hell it was no wonder that only Michael had any impact at all on him.

"Oh well. It's not going to help him any." Gabriel smiled and Raphael just nodded before both of them attacked. The vast number of demons behind Paimon charged as well, targeting the hunters. But the presence of both archangels was paying off. Sam saw slow progress on their side, saw the lines of demons dimming and had hope that they could win before Michael ended his battle, when suddenly, a wave of heat hit them all from the side. They were all still in the heat of the battle when it happened, but they all turned to where the heat came from, spotting the enormous pillar of flame, reaching from the earth up into the clouds that was now slowly subsiding.

"It's time. The cage is open." And while Gabriel spoke, Paimon swung to surprise him from behind…

I'm a rolling thunder, a pouring rain
I'm comin' on like a hurricane
My lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young but you're gonna die

I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

Hell's bells

~Hell's Bells, AC/DC

Sooooo, new Hell knight. And yeah, they're kinda like Abaddon but in my story they weren't all killed but live in the deepest layers of hell and are really difficult to get out of there (that's why Gabriel and Raphael are so shocked to see them) and also really damn powerful, nearly matching archangels in strength. They just call themselves kings because of course, demons as they are, they just love to feel all powerful and important. Also I like the idea of Hell actually having a Hirachy like heaven does, with armies and stuff. After all, Lucifer did try to imitate his home in a very twisted way. On the show, the hirarchy between demons is mentioned but never fully exploited much. I take their names out of the sources for 'the lesser key of Solomon' I could find on the internet (*cough*wikipedia*cough*), thought that was pretty fittingas some of Supernatural's spells also come from that or related books. Paimon for example is one of the most loyal kings to Lucifer and he can 'reveal the mysteries of the earth' which I interpreted as being able to fool his enemy into seeing things basically.

Feel free to write me your opinion please, I would really appreciate it, even it if it's short :)

~Thanks for reading!
