After the encounter with Hisoka the rest of the exam went without a problem I explored the island and watched various people attempt hunting. I avoided Hisoka, Killua's brother, Killua, Gon and the weird men in suits.

I could tell Gon wanted to this by himself without mine or anyone's interference and Killua would just be pissed if I even attempted to help him, since he has such a weak target. And if I was there I somehow knew I would interfere, weird, I never felt this before. Weak die, strong survive that is the rule which I have went 's the rule of Meteor and the wild.

Today is the last day. I slowly make my way towards the starting point that is where we are supposed to meet up and head towards the next challenge. Both tags sit comfortably on my t-shirt. I'm in human form, I don't care about people attacking me, in fact it would just make things more interesting I'm kind of bored.

The only thing I found interesting during the challenge was the first day and hiding and staying out of sight of the men in the suits. They kept popping up all over the place looking for someone, and then looking down at a device and searching, never realising there were being watched themselves. Yeh they had no bad intentions directed towards me but I got bored, so I wanted to play a game. The game though would have been more fun with Gon and Killua.

"The fourth phase of the exam has just ended. Will the applicants please return to the starting point at once? You will be given one hour extra time. If you do not return during this time, you will fail the exam." I walk through the forest and notice others doing the same. I notice Killua nearby, I don't sense Gon.

"Furthermore, you are not allowed to exchange tags after reaching the starting point. Anyone caught swapping tags will be disqualified." There are a lot of loopholes in that. You can meet in the forest next to the starting point and switch, or steal the tags now. You can switch as long as your not caught. However there are a lot of risks with that so it isn't worth the risk, not that I need to take a risk I already have the necessary points. I wonder if someone desperate will try to steal my tags now.

I make my way down to the clearing we are supposed to meet at. I see Killua and make my way over to him. I give him a wave when I see he notices me.

"Hey. Did your prey make it interesting, or was it a total bore?" I ask him, wondering if he decided to play with his prey, or just took them out quickly.

"Bore. His brother had me and followed me hoping I would down my guard. He was an amateur, he made so much noise and made it obvious. When his brothers came to help the idiot I stole the tag I needed. Thanks for telling me my target it made things simpler, though I had a little fun."

"You just held his brother hostage to get his tag didn't you, and played ignorant to who your target was to keep them in suspense didn't you." He looks shocked, bang on then, I chuckle lightly.

"Yep." He looks at me cautiously. "How did yours go, your target was attacked the second he stepped on the island by a sabre-toothed tiger." He looks at me suspicious, I simply smirk, and point to his badge on my shirt.

"Yeh saw that, and I was looking forward to removing the tree that was stuck up his behind but a… sabre-toothed tiger?" Never heard that before guessing it's revering to the teeth on the tiger as identifying the it from other cats in the cat family. Killua grins at me as if knowing my thoughts. I puff out my cheeks at him.

"Anyway the toothed tiger took care of my target for me and I simply stole the tag."

Before we can talk anymore the boat lower the plank and the annoying cheerful girl from the boat starts speaking, again.

"Then we will now check the tags of everyone here!"

Hisoka goes first holding four tags, looks like Gon managed it, I wonder if he will be ok.

"#44 Hisoka" Hisoka holds up the numbers #384, #80, #281 and #118.

I sneak a glance at Killua and notice him looking around the clearing looking for Gon. I spread my senses and notice that he is on his way and is quite close along with Kurapika and Leorio, I forgot about those two. I look at him reassuring him that Gon will be fine.

"#53, Pokkle." A guy with arrows hold up his number and #105.

"#113, Rochelle." I hold up my tag and #222.

"#199, Killua." Killua holds up his tags and #199.

"#301, Gittarackur." He holds up his and #371.

"#191, Bodoro." An old man holds up two tags, his and #34.

"#294, Hanzo." I see a bold guy hold up three tags, I notice that Killua smirking at him. I raise an eyebrow at him and he simply shrugs. Hanzo holds up his tag, #198,#362 and #89.

I sense Gon and two others close by, I turn to where they are. I nudge Killua and look pointed looked towards some bushes. He looks at me for a moment before turning his attention to the bushes.

"So seven applicants have passed?" nope "oh?" she notices more people coming and paused.

"Gon." Killua and I say at the same time relieved to see that he made it in time. We turn to each other for a second and grin.

"Ah, three more arrive at the last second."

"Killua, Rochelle." Gon acknowledges us, also looking relived to see that we all passed.

Killua holds his thumbs up at Gon, which Gon responds to holding his thumb up back at us. I simply grin. I notice Gon looking at Hisoka and that Hisoka was smirking at Gon. Yep something definitely happened.

"And now for the last few members…

"#404, Kurapika." Kurapika holds his tag and pig nose's tag, #16. Yes! No more pig nose.

"#403, Leorio." Leorio holds up his tag and #246. Though his face looks like he is in pain and a pervert. Then again he is a pervert.

"And #405, Gon" Gon holds up his and Hisoka's tag though he doesn't look very happy, something did happen then.

"These ten applicants have passed the fourth phase of the exam!" she announces dramatically.

I wonder what will happen now.

Once we got on the… air ship I sit by myself. Everyone else wondered off somewhere else. I'm contempt watching the clouds and the ground move under us. Its strange flying in the air, without feeling the wind against my face. I sigh at the thought. I can't wait to fly through the skies without restriction, the freedom you feel flying is truly amazing.

My thoughts are interrupted by beans voice.

"I have an announcement for all applicants. The chairman wishes to interview the remaining candidates. When your name is called please come to the first reception room, on the second floor. Then we will start with #44, Hisoka."

What is the old pervert up to now? What could the final phase be I wonder?

My name finally being called out I wonder as I walk what can the old man want now? I open the door to see him sitting down on floor. He looks up at me as I enter.

"Well have a seat." I look at him to see a square thing on the floor and glance back at him to see that he is sitting on top of one. I guess I'm supposed to sit on it then. I slowly make my way towards towards it. I poke it cautiously with my foot. It's soft. I lower myself so I'm sat on the thing. Soft. My thoughts are interrupted by soft chuckles.

"You're an odd ball of sorts." He states not even asking. "It's a cushion, it's soft, it helps people relax and offers comfort." I nod at the explanation. I glance at the table in front of me, and look up at the old pervert.

"Anyway, I will be asking a few questions to satisfy my curiosity." I nod my head in understanding. I wonder why he wants to know and what he will do with the information. "First, why do you want to become a hunter?"

"I spent the most of my life living in the wild, amongst animals. I have been taught by different species of animals. Which does makes me ignorant in the ways of my own species. No matter where I went, no matter the species there was always I certain level of restriction, I had to live like them, act, eat, live, but seeing humans I wanted to fit in to have friends and such, without having restraints. When I told my animal sensei's they first laughed at me and told me I wouldn't fit in, that my only chance of fitting in was to become a hunter. " I answer honestly, I can't lie and say that it's for some noble purpose cause it's not, I want to learn how to be human and I guess now I want to make my own place here.

"I see." He answers smiling as if he knows all the answers. I hate that smile. "Well then I'll move onto the next question. Which of the other applicants are you keeping your eye on?"

"#44 and #301. They're dangerous, I won't last long in a real fight with them, and they have more experience and knowledge in fighting than me. It doesn't help that they bask in fighting and killing." I answer honestly though it doesn't help that both of them are interested in me, Gon and Killua. though I think I'm new to their radar but after the last phase I'm pretty sure I am now.

"I see. Well then one last question. Which of the other nine applicants would you least want to fight?"

"#99 and #405. I like their company, I feel like I can be myself around them, I don't know why though."

"Ah! I understand." He sounds like he understands more than I do. Which is irritating. "Yep, good job. You're excused." He casually dismisses me. I get up and leave the room.

That was quick. but what does it have to do with the final exam. Guess i will find out. Hmm. It sounded like we will be fighting against each other by the last question. If we do fight, what can I do against Hisoka or Killua's brother. Damn it!

Thank you for following and your reviews next chapter is the start of the final exam.
