(Twins are 9years old)

Kiyoshi rested his arm under his head and looked over to the window, he couldn't sleep. His thoughts were all over the place, saying he would follow the stars was one thing but to actually attempt to do magic again was another thing. He sighed, frustrated with himself, he needed hope but that was so hard to have when he feared the future.

"Are you alright down there?" Gray asked, still awake

Kiyoshi looked over to the ice wizard, he shrugged his shoulders.

"Is something bothering you?" Gray leaned up on one arm.

"Just…my future, what if I can never be a wizard…I know I could never be as strong as Ayoko or fight like Natsu" the young boy sighed; he felt the weight of the world crushing his tiny body.

Gray twisted around, sitting up, he smiled.

"You don't need to try and be like another wizard…having magic means you get to mould it to make it your own"

"But…there will always be someone stronger out there, that can destroy your magic" Kiyoshi held his breathe as the memory of Katio destroying his rainbow flashed before him.

"True, but if there weren't stronger people out there, then you would never get stronger yourself…Natsu's magic gets better with each battle he has"

Kiyoshi looked over to the dragon slayer who was flopped over the sofa, true he knew Natsu was strong but he didn't have the confidence he did, he knew he never would.

"I'm not strong, I'll never be strong" the small boy placed his arms over his eyes so Gray couldn't see his falling tears.

"We all think that at some point, I use to think that when I was training against Lyon, but I learned that to become stronger I needed to believe in myself, once I had that, I wouldn't back down against anyone, not even Lyon"

"That's it though, I will always be compared to Ayoko, she has God's for her magic, all I know about my magic is a rainbow, which…which I can't do anymore" Kiyoshi mumbled.

"You forgot how to?" Gray asked.

"No…no, I just…I just can't"

"Why can't you?"

"Because…because…I'm afraid it will be destroyed, my magic will just vanish again"

"You sound like you don't have any believe in your magic…"

"I don't…if it can be destroyed right in front of me, then what's the point?"

"I fight with Natsu all the time and he uses flames, if I doubted my ice magic then I would never challenge him and I wouldn't have gotten stronger"

Kiyoshi moved his arms and turned over so he was facing Gray.

"But that's ok because your magic is strong…"

"My magic is about being creative" Gray smiled as he made an ice sculpture of the fairy tail sign.

Kiyoshi's ice widened, he had heard and read of Gray's magic but he had never seen it.

"It's small…" Kiyoshi pointed out as the sign hovered over Gray's hand.

Gray laughed "Just because its small doesn't mean it's not strong"

"Oh…."Kiyoshi sat up as Gray made the sign disappear, in its place was a star.

"If people judge something by its appearance, then they will never discover how amazing it is" the ice wizard smiled as he handed the boy his star.

Kiyoshi held the ice sculpture in his hands, he ran his fingers over the sides, it was small but the feeling it gave him was immense.

"Whatever you were gifted with, will truly be great, you just need to be determined to reach your goal, and you don't have to do it alone, being in Fairy Tail means you will always have a family, a family that will stand by your side in your hardest battles"

The young boy looked up to the ice wizard; a small smile crossed his face. He knew being in Fairy Tail meant he would never be alone.

"If you ever need anything, you can always ask me" Gray smiled.

Kiyoshi nodded, accepting that Gray along with a lot of other people would be there for him. But no matter how many words these people spoke it never extinguished the fear he felt in his heart, when he did eventually find his magic he wondered if it would be strong enough to help him face his greatest fear, would it be powerful enough to wipe out the darkness, if he believed enough could he defeat the one person that had a hold over him. He doubted himself so much, because when everything is all said and done it will be him alone, standing against his demon, it will just be him and the Wolfclaw wizard, Katio.
