(Twins are 9years old)
"Your…your…my third god?" Ayoko stuttered.
The blonde haired, fair skin women nodded her head.
"But, I never had a test, I didn't do anything" Ayoko was confused, this seemed too simple.
"Of course you did, you allowed your brother to walk his own path, you let go so he could find himself"
"Kiyoshi…" the purple haired wizard whispered, as she turned around to look in the direction her brother had walked.
"His alright, you have done well Ayoko, by letting him go you have learned to have faith in those that may seem weaker than you"
"My faith? I don't understand the test…" Ayoko frowned, what did having faith have to do with magic.
"Having faith is important, sometimes in a hard battle it's all you have left, with it you can overcome negative thoughts and believe in people you thought might not be of any help" the God explained.
"I won't ever lose" Ayoko said, quite confident.
"You're not indestructible Ayoko, you are human"
"Yeah, but I have my God's, no one can beat me"
"There is dark magic out there and you need to train as hard as you can, I am your third God, to get your last God, and you will need to become a lot stronger"
"I am strong and this test was easy so…"
"Was it?"
"Well…yeah, I just have to have faith and…"
"You found it easy to allow your brother to walk off into the night, alone"
Ayoko paused; she didn't want to seem weak in front of her new God. She had come along way over the last few years; it was very rare she was caught crying or being upset.
"I suppose, it seemed easy after I allowed him to walk off, but...but to let him go was hard and a part of me did want to follow him" Ayoko confessed.
"It's alright to worry" the God smiled as she approached the young wizard.
Ayoko looked up to see the full beauty of her new god, her long blonde hair rested behind her back, her dark blue eyes looked at her, they twinkled against the light of the moon. Her dark hood was hooked around her neck, the hood rested down. Her pure white dress wrapped around her body, hanging a little loses at the bottom, just above her knees. There was a black band around her right hand, where she held a wooden bow. She was nothing like Hera, her beauty was immeasurable, Ayoko noticed the pack which was tied to her back which held a dozen arrows, she hunts? The young wizard thought to herself. Ayoko admired the whole outfit, she noticed how the goddess shone, even after the bright light behind her had disappeared, she still glowed.
"You shine?" Ayoko questioned.
Artemis smiled and nodded.
"My magic is most powerful at night; the moon gives me my strength"
"So you're a night time God?" Ayoko smiled.
"I can come out at any time of day, but I'm most powerful when the moon is out" Artemis explained.
Ayoko looked up to the sky, the moon she thought to herself. Her brother could hear the stars whisper and now she had a God that used the moon. The sky…our magic together has something to do with the sky she thought to herself.
"Let's see how strong you are then, Ayoko" Artemis smiled; she stood with her legs apart, facing the child.
Ayoko snapped out of thought, she took a deep breath, she needed to give it her all, her God offered her hand out, the young wizard took it and closed her eyes. For some reason she began to feel a little scared, she had never feared anything when she started using her magic before.
"The stronger the God, the more power you hold" Artemis whispered.
It wasn't fear she was feeling then? No, it was immense power; she could feel it flowing within her.
"Relax" her God soothed.
Ayoko vanished all her feelings, she thought only of one thing, the most important being in her life, her baby brother, Kiyoshi. His long blue hair, his light white tattoo, his sweet smile and innocent grey eyes. She suddenly felt her tattoo pushing deeper into her skin, it beat against her eye, it wasn't painful but she had never felt it get this deep before. She felt like collapsing, her hand slipped from her new God, slowly she opened her eyes. Her vision was a little blurred.
"Did…did I do it?" she asked, swaying.
Artemis glowed brighter, Ayoko blinked, trying to get her sight back. She felt drained, she fell to the ground. She pressed her eyes together and held her head. This was so hard, why was she feeling so tired?
"Together we can make incredible magic" Artemis smiled and helped the young girl up.
"What, what magic can you do?" Ayoko asked her vision blotchy before she was able to see her surroundings again.
"I can shape shift" the God smiled.
Ayoko frowned, was this a joke?
"I already have a God who can do that, why have you taken so much of my strength if that's all you can do?!" Ayoko growled, annoyed.
"I can also make plagues" the God bit her lip as she smiled.
Ayoko's eyes widened, her God lifted her hands up, the leaves on the trees began to sway, the wind howled, causing Ayoko's long purple hair to fly in her face.
The purple haired wizard suddenly heard the sound of croaking frogs, she looked over to her god before back out to the opening, they're in front of them were hundreds of green and brown amphibians.
"Wow…" Ayoko smiled as she watched them hopping around the grass.
Artemis grinned to the side as she opened her arms, the sound of flapping wings echoed the woods, the young wizard looked around, they're in the sky were hundreds of bats, their wings flapping hard.
"How many can you do?" Ayoko asked curiously but as soon as she looked at her God, she knew she shouldn't have asked.
Artemis placed her hands down by her side before lifting them up to the sky, Ayoko felt her belly turn as she heard buzzing; she slowly turned to see a swarm of millions of locus's heading towards them. Ayoko screamed and ran behind Artemis; she looked over her God's shoulders to see all the plagues her God had called headed towards the two.
"Make them stop, I don't like bugs!" Ayoko cried as the ground began to move.
Tiny moles popped out, along with ants and worms. The purple haired wizard jumped on to Artemis's back.
"I get it, you can do a lot" Ayoko buried her face into her God's neck.
The night God brushed her right arm through the air, making all the animals disappear; with just a move of her hand they were gone. Ayoko peeked her eye open, the forest was normal again, she breathed out in relief before climbing down from her God's.
"Wait someone's here!" Artemis turned and shot one of her arrows, a scream echoed through the woods.
"Kiyoshi…!" Ayoko yelled as she ran to her brother.
Her brother was hooked on to the tree with one of her God's arrows, the boy screamed in pain as he tried to pull it out of his arm.
"You shot my brother…!" Ayoko yelled.
Artemis walked slowly towards the two, not at all fazed by what lay in front of her nor how the young wizard spoke to her. She calmly approached the boy and yanked out the arrow. Kiyoshi fell to the floor, holding his bleeding arm. Ayoko began tearing her clothes so as to cover his wound, how was she going to explain this to her mother.
Artemis sat on the grass in front of the young boy; gently she pushed Ayoko away from him. The purple haired wizard tried to pull back so she could help her brother.
"No Ayoko, you can't help him like that" her God looked at her with her dark blue eyes.
"What…what are you on about?" the young girl asked.
"Close your eyes and use your magic" Artemis instructed.
"I can't heal people with my magic, he needs to go home, now" Ayoko tried to push past her Goddess, but the women held her back.
Kiyoshi held on to his wound as he tried to hold back his tears, the pain was excruciating.
"You can do this, just concentrate, it will take a lot of your magic" Artemis smiled as she rubbed the little girls arm.
Ayoko felt tears flood her eyes; she looked at her brother, before closing her eyes. The warm tears, slid slowly down her warm cheeks as she began thinking of her memories. She breathed out as she tried to concentrate on him, only him. Kiyoshi, the one person who had so much power over her heart, the one person she trusted with everything and anything, the one person she knew she couldn't live without.
Artemis placed her hand over Kiyoshi's wound; the goddess's body glowed brighter, causing her hands to shine. Ayoko felt herself becoming weak as her magic was drained, she pushed harder, she needed to help her brother.
Kiyoshi looked down at his arm, the pain had gone, the God pulled away to reveal the healed skin.
"You did it Ayoko" Artemis brushed her hand over the young wizard.
Ayoko fell forward into her God's arms, she felt sleepy. All the magic that was in her was at its limit now. She could do no more, her new Goddess was incredible, she knew she had to train herself more if she was to call upon her and get her last God, she knew that would take a lot, she thought she was strong but now she understood, she had a long way to go, before she could be a great wizard.
"Tha…thank" Ayoko tried to speak but was hushed by the night Goddess.
"You need to rest" Artemis smiled down.
Slowly the Goddess moved the young girls body over to her brother, Ayoko rested herself in his lap, smiling she looked up at him before turning back to Artemis.
"This…this…is my new God, Artemis" Ayoko introduced the two, she wanted her brother to know her God's as well as she did, she felt it was important for them to have a bound with him.
Kiyoshi smiled as the night Goddess began to fade, Ayoko breathed out deeply as the last of her magic vanished.
"It was a pleasure to meet you both, I hope to see you soon" Artemis smiled before her body evaporated.
Kiyoshi looked down to his sister, the wind brushed past them; he gently moved her long purple strands from her face and smiled.
"What…what have you been doing?" she asked in a whisper.
"Nothing, I just went for a walk, thanks for not following me"
Kiyoshi leaned down and hugged his sister; she smiled and closed her eyes. He gently kissed her head before looking up to the breaking sky; the sun was coming up, clearing the night with a new day. The young boy smiled to himself, his sister was almost at her last God, but he was just beginning his magic, he couldn't wait to show her what he would be able to do, he finally had believe in himself, he thanked Gray for the encouraging words. He may be small, but that doesn't mean he could never be strong or dare he wish it, become a great wizard.
A/N: Wow, what a strong goddess…! There is so much more for young Ayoko to learn though, she can only get stronger :) And Kiyoshi…yes he didn't tell his sister about his magic BUT don't worry she will find out and when she does, it will be EPIC I promise you xD
