A month passes: September
(Twins are nine)
Ayoko sat at the kitchen table, her legs swinging from the chair. She flicked through her gold banded book; lately she had tried to research and understand everything she could about her Gods. It was exhausting, not only did she need to remember all of their individual powers but she also had to improve on her strength of magic as well as forming a bond. Hera had told her the bond was the most important, it was just the same as the bond between her and her brother. Who she hadn't really seen much over the last few weeks, he kept disappearing into the woods. When she had questioned him or asked to go along he had denied her the opportunity, this frustrated her as she knew he was hiding something from her, but he had hugged her, telling her in time he would show her.
"Ayoko, you're not concentrating" Hera snapped her out of thought
"S-Sorry…" she mumbled, looking back down to her book
"What are you thinking about?" Hera asked
Before Ayoko could answer Kiyoshi came walking through the kitchen, his jacket hung loosely over his shoulders, he smiled and headed towards the back door. Ayoko stood straight away, grabbing her brother's arm.
"Where are you going?" she asked, hoping this time he would take her with him
"To the woods" he smiled and opened the door
"Can I come to?" she followed him out
"No, I want to be alone" he walked down the garden
"Please…" Ayoko stopped in the middle of the path that ran down the side of the long garden
Kiyoshi turned; his hair was slightly brushed to one side, his light grey eyes visible to see.
Since when did he start moving his hair? Ayoko thought to herself
"I'll show you soon, I promise, trust me" he smiled
Ayoko's heart felt heavy, she sighed looking down.
"Why can't you show me now?" she mumbled
Kiyoshi's arms wrapped around his sister body; Ayoko looked up, her eyes wide.
"Because it's not time, but soon it will be"
He lightly kissed her cheek before walking off into the woods at the back of the house, Ayoko stood motionless, holding her cheek.
Ayoko slowly walked back into the house, just as it started to rain. She looked out the window as she sat at the table once more, getting distracted by the cold weather. She sighed and flicked over another page, she noticed two were stuck together. She looked down and tried pulling them apart, but they wouldn't come undone.
"Uhm…Hera, these pages won't come apart" she looked at her Goddess who was sat next to her
"That's because those pages are about your last God"
Ayoko's brown eyes widened, she tried again to pull them apart. Hera placed her hand over the child's, shaking her head lightly.
"T-That's not fair" she moaned, pushing the book away
Hera smiled and turned the book around so it was in front of her
"You understand that there is a test for you to gain each of your God's, the same goes for your last…but because this is you last test, things will be a little different" Hera explained, her voice low and calming.
Ayoko looked over to her Goddess, not really understanding.
"I will tell you the test and then it's up to you to overcome it"
Ayoko frowned a little, getting even more confused.
"What do you mean?" she asked, sitting upright
"Your last God has everything to do with fear, but it's not just about being afraid, it about the bond you have with your brother" she began to explain
"B-But, I've already proven my bond with my brother when I gained the God the sea"
"No Ayoko, that was to do with the love you have for your brother, your water God is strong because of your feelings in your heart, and this new God will test everything there is between you and Kiyoshi"
Ayoko stared at Hera for a moment, fear filled her heart.
"W-What does that mean" her voice a little shaky as she spoke
"It will be alright, I have faith in Kiyoshi and in you" Hera smiled, placing her hand on Ayoko's cheek.
Ayoko looked down; it seemed the test was more to do with Kiyoshi, about his bond towards her. She feared what would happen next, she wanted her last God. But knowing the test before she did it, filled her with worry, that she might just fail this one.
"Erza, do you kn-"Jellal paused from talking as he watched the scarlet hair beauty leaning down, as she hovered the twins room. How he loved her, he smiled and walked up to her, wrapping his arms around her.
"Hey!" Erza jumped at the sudden touch, she turned and smiled, seeing Jellal
He placed his head on her shoulders, kissing her neck, his eyes half closed.
"J-Jellal" she moaned a little, her head tilting to the side as his lips pressed against her skin
The blue haired mage smiled, his bottom lip trailing up her neck, along her jaw line. He slowly turned her around, looking in to her deep, brown eyes. Erza blushed, looking away.
"I-I need to finish cleaning the room" she mumbled
"In a minute" he whispered, placing his hand over her flushed cheeks.
Erza looked back at him, her heart raced as Jellal moved closer. She couldn't believe he still gave her all these feelings, after being together for over nine years he was still able to make her heart skip, make her blush like a teenage girl and feel weak at the knees, just his touch made her feel as though she was falling for him all over again.
Jellal gently pressed his lips on to hers, kissing her passionate. She lifted her arms up, entangling her fingers into his long, blue stands of hair. Jellal brought her closer into him, pressing their bodies together.
"M-Mummy" Ayoko's voiced called from the hall way
Erza turned to see her baby crying, she quickly moved out of Jellal's arms, kneeling in front of Ayoko.
"What's the matter?" she asked, a little panicked
"I'm s-scared, I-I don't want a new God" she sobbed, rubbing her eyes
Erza took Ayoko into her arms, resting her daughters head on her chest. Jellal walked over to them, kneeling beside Erza.
"Why don't you?" Jellal asked
"H-Hera told me that my last God is strong and that my bond with Kiyoshi would be tested, I don't want to be tested anymore, I don't want to do it" her head buried deeper into her mother's chest as she sobbed more.
Erza placed her hand over her daughter head, she looked over to Jellal. The blue haired mage leaned down, titling his head slightly as he looked at Ayoko, whose face was peeking through her mother's long scarlet hair. Her cheeks flushed as tears flowed from her big, brown eyes.
"You want to go to Kingdom Hall don't you? You want to be the best you can be" his voice was low as he spoke to her.
Ayoko nodded her head, wiping her eyes.
"Then you need to do this test, it's alright to be afraid Ayoko, we all get scared when we have to do something we fear…even mummy and me"
Ayoko lifted her head up, pulling away from her mother's arms, but still sat close to her.
"You're a Fairy Tail wizard meaning you will never have to face something alone baby, me and daddy will be here for you always and Kiyoshi will never let you down sweetheart" Erza smiled, brushing her daughters long, purple hair away from her flushed face.
Ayoko's heart lifted, her parent's words were strong and true. She sniffed and wiped her face, smiling she leaned forward and hugged her mum. Erza hugged her daughter, placing her cheek on Ayoko's head. Jellal looked over to them both, smiling he leaned over and kissed Erza's cheek.
The last test was soon approaching, it would take all of Ayoko's power to overcome this one, to gain her last God and enter the Kingdom Hall games.
