Hello everybody, I'm back. This chapter has Christopher Pike which I think is a first for my writing I hope you enjoy his appearance. Thank you everybody who reviewed the last chapter and everybody who continues to support this story.

Wishing You Were Here
Admiral Christopher Pike's fairly dull day was brightened up by the arrival of a message from Jim Kirk. The young captain had been keeping in regular contact with his mentor both professionally and personally and as such he wasted no time in opening the message. Though Jim was probably one of the most unpredictable people he'd met Pike felt certain that he now knew what to expect from the young man, this time Jim once again surprised him. The message contained several pictures which all had titles underneath them.
The first one was a close up of Jim's face while he was sticking his tongue out at the camera and underneath it said 'A Quick Silly Selfie'
Second was of Jim, Leonard and Scotty standing in front of what looked like a distillery in Engineering each holding a full glass aloft. This one was titled 'Cheers!'
The next showed Pavel and Hikaru with a large animal that looked like a cross between a bear and a dog with an exceptional amount of fur. Both boys wore a look that could only be described as adorably appealing and this held the title 'Can We Keep Him?'
And so it went for several more pictures including one with Jim giving Spock bunny ears, another of Jim noogieing Pavel, one of Leonard chasing Scotty with a hypo and a particularly stealthy one of Nyota and Spock kissing in one of the ship's corridors. At the very bottom was one of all of them entitled 'Wishing You Were Here'
It showed Jim sitting in the Command Chair with a genuine grin on his face. Pavel was sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of him grinning brightly at the camera with one of his thumbs up. Hikaru was also on the floor next to him giving a huge smile with his sword casually laid across his lap. Spock was standing on Jim's right looking as composed as ever but Pike could see the minute quirk of his mouth indicating a hidden smile. Nyota was beside him properly smiling and though it couldn't be seen Pike was certain that she was holding Spock's hand. Leonard stood on Jim's left with his arms crossed over his chest and giving the brightest smile Pike had ever seen on the man. Scotty was behind Jim leaning on the back of the chair with a big grin on his face.
Pike smiled as he gazed at the picture a bit longer than the others and then moved on to the rest of the message making a mental note to make a physical copy of the picture to frame. All that was left of the message was this…

When Pike was next in Admiral Archer's office and noticed the last picture framed behind his desk he gave the man a knowing look but made no comment.
