"Owe!" Kiyoshi whimpered as his sister placed an ice pack near his eye
"It'll help the bruising" she explained
After Ayoko had found her brother beaten up by one of the Wolfclaw twins she had brought him home, their parents were out just like she promised. Kiyoshi sat with the ice pack resting on the left side of his eye. His lip was a little cut but apart from that Ayoko had been able to clean the rest of the blood away, so it looked as though the incident never happened, almost.
"You should put your hair over your eyes so mum doesn't see you bruise" Ayoko advised as she threw away the bloody wipes
Kiyoshi sat at the kitchen table; he placed the ice pack down and brushed his hair over his eyes. He didn't want to cover his face, since showing Yuki his magic he had felt strong enough to not hide away.
"It's only for now, once the bruise has gone you can move your hair back" Ayoko smiled, she looked at her brother, seeing the sorrow in his eyes
Kiyoshi nodded his head; he placed his head down, and sighed loudly
"Don't worry" Ayoko placed her hand over her brothers
"We'll get them Wolfclaw twins back, I only need one more God before our magic becomes one" she smiled
She hadn't explained anything Hera had told her about the magic called Heavens Angels but the little smile on her brother's face looked as though he understood, maybe the stars had told him.
"I'll help you get your last God" he gently squeezed her hand
Ayoko leaned forward and wrapped her arms around her little brother, burying her head in his blue hair.
"I promise I won't tell mum about Gray"
Kiyoshi lifted his arms up, wrapping them around his sister.
"Thank you" he mumbled quietly
"Your home early" Erza stood by the front door, looking at the twins who were sat on the sofa
Ayoko turned and smiled, she was snuggled up next to her brother
"We came home together tonight" she explained
Jellal looked at them and then at Erza, bags hanging on his arms. The scarlet hair mother pulled off her gloves and woolly hat, standing in front of her babies. Straight away she noticed her sons hair had come back over his eyes, she looked at Ayoko questioningly.
"Did something happened?" she asked them both
"Dad can we go to Fairy Tail now please" Kiyoshi called to Jellal, ignoring his mother's question
Jellal placed the bags down just near the front door; he stood and looked at Kiyoshi
"Don't you want tea first?" he asked
Kiyoshi shook his head and climbed off the sofa, walking to his father's side
"I'm not hungry"
Jellal looked from Kiyoshi to Erza, his cheeks a burning red from the cold.
"Alright, go and grab your coat" Jellal smiled
Kiyoshi raced off to do as his father had told him. Erza looked at her daughter, still with a questioning look on her face, Ayoko smiled; trying her hardest to act as though everything was normal. It was really hard to lie to her parents but if she told her mother any of what happened she knew she would just try and protect Kiyoshi more.
"Ready!" Kiyoshi smiled, his bobbled white hat bouncing around as he ran to his father's side
Jellal smiled down to his son, he pulled the boys hat to the side a little, so he could see a little better.
"Let's go, we won't be home to late" Jellal walked to Erza, kissing her lightly on the cheek before leaving with his son to Fairy Tail
Erza smiled and waved lightly as they left, she turned back to daughter
"I'm going to do some studying" Ayoko jumped off the sofa
"Don't you want to help me with the Christmas decorations?" Erza questioned, she lifted the bags in her hands. They were filled with tinsel and snow globes.
Ayoko's eye lit up as she bounced towards her mother
"Oh yay! Yeah that would be much better than reading" she giggled
Erza handed the bags to Ayoko while she went and made some hot chocolate, she watched as her daughter sat on the floor surrounded by silver, red and gold. She smiled at the scene, she loved her babies so much, and she knew something was going on; Kiyoshi wouldn't place his hair over his face without there being a reason.
"Wow!" Ayoko cried as she pulled out this year's Christmas star
Erza walked back into the front room, placing the drinks on the centre table. She lit the fire to warm herself before switching on the stereo which sat just to the side of the window. Christmas carol songs poured out through the dark black speakers.
"What should we decorate first?" Erza asked
Ayoko looked up, the star still in her hand. She thought for a moment, tapping her finger on her lips.
"How about the Christmas tree?" Erza suggested
Ayoko shook her head, "We should wait until Kiyoshi and daddy come back, so we can do that together"
Erza smiled, agreeing with her daughter
"Can we do the window?" Ayoko asked
"Of course we can" Erza laughed
Soon the room was filled with danglers, which stretched the whole length of the room, a dark green garland rested on the fire place, clear lights wrapped around it with red candles standing each side of it. The window was sprayed with Christmas snow, the coloured lights around the frame chased one another. Fake woolly snow rested on the open windowsill, Santa stood in the centre with his working elf's around him. His reindeers stood to the side, eating carrots as they waited with the toy filled sleigh.
The Christmas theme went further into the house, Erza had gotten out all the red accessories for the kitchen, Ayoko sat at the bottom of the stair, finishing wrapping the gold tinsel around the banister to the stairs.
"Shall we take a break" Erza smiled as she walked from the kitchen with freshly made Christmas cookies and mugs of tea
Ayoko jumped up, smiling she helped her mother with the warm tray of freshly baked treats. The pair snuggled up together on the sofa, the fire crackled as they sipped their tea. Ayoko nibbled on her biscuit as her mother played with her long purple hair.
"Ayoko" Erza began
Her daughter looked up to her, her big brown eyes glowing from the warm fire light.
"Yes mummy?"
"I want you to know that if there is anything ever troubling you or your brother you can tell me, I won't be angry. You're my babies, I love you both so much, so does daddy. Were your family and that means we will always be here for you" she smiled.
Ayoko remained silent for a moment; her mother's words ached her heart. She thought about her brother and what had happened today, she had failed him because she was unable to use her magic. She sighed and sat up a little, her mother's words were true.
"Kiyoshi-…" she started but was cut off
"Were back!" Jellal called, the front door flying open
Erza and Ayoko turned their heads, stood in the door way, covered in snow was Jellal and Kiyoshi.
"Sorry were a little late, Kiyoshi wanted to go and buy Yuki a Christmas present" Jellal smiled, pulling off his hat.
"Wow!" Kiyoshi's face lit up as he looked around the decorated room
Erza stood smiling, looking at her sons face
"We left the tree for us all to do, you can place the star on the top of the tree" she ran her fingers through her sons snowy blue hair
He looked up to her, smiling
"Hey! What did you buy Yuki?" Ayoko asked curiously
Kiyoshi turned his head; he blushed and hid the small present behind his back
"Come on, let's decorate the tree" Jellal laughed, knowing how embarrassed Kiyoshi felt.
He had gotten the same butterfly feelings and rosy cheeks, though always composed in front of Erza, his feelings were always twice as intense when she was around him, even now.
The family gathered around the tree, Jellal wrapped the clear lights around the large branches; Erza patterned the tinsel, red, gold and silver. The twins giggled and recalled memories of all the decorations they pulled out the box, their parents had kept all the little self-made decorations that they had made in little school.
Everyone stood back and admired the beautiful tree; Erza wrapped her arm around her daughter as Jellal lifted Kiyoshi up. The blue haired wizard carefully placed the large gold star on tallest branch, completing the tree.
"Goodnight" Erza and Jellal called to their babies as they switched off the light and half closed the bedroom door.
Ayoko sat up as soon as she was certain her parent's were in their room, she called to her brother. Kiyoshi sat up and slipped out of his bed, he quietly climbed up onto Ayoko's bunk bed.
"Alright, you know what to do?" Ayoko asked her brother
Kiyoshi nodded his head, feeling a little worried.
"If I look as though I'm struggling wake me up but don't do it straight away, wait a while" Ayoko smiled and took her brothers hand, seeing his worry
"It'll be alright, I need to do this…." She hugged him close; he in return wrapped his arms around her
Ayoko slowly lay down, her brother watching over her as she closed her tired eyes.
"I'll be right here" he whispered, keeping hold of her hand
The purple haired wizard fell straight to sleep; darkness consumed her while fear gripped her body. She opened her eyes, once more she was stood in a damp, dark, dirty cave. Her feet cold, her heartbeat loud and her body shaking.
"Focus Ayoko!" she told herself
She looked around, she couldn't see the three headed dog, so why was she shaking? She turned and saw the blue light, she slowly stepped forward as soon as her foot hit the damp ground she heard a familiar growl.
She slowly turned, there above her was the three headed beast. She swallowed hard, remaining still.
"N-Nice d-d-doggy" her voice shaking as she tried to form full words
Kiyoshi looked at his sister, she looked terrified. He slowly brought her hand up; gently he kissed it and whispered to her.
"You can do it, I believe in you"
Ayoko snapped her head around, hearing her brother's word. The blue light in the background exploded, causing the cave to shake, Ayoko fell forward onto the dogs paw.
"You can do it Ayoko, don't be afraid, I'm right here" Kiyoshi called
The cave shook more, the sound of a screaming man echoed from the blue light. Ayoko turned leaning up on the dogs paw. The howling of crying spirits surrounded her; the top of the cave slowly came crashing down. The man's voice grew angrier the more Kiyoshi spoke.
"I will always be here, were inseparable" Kiyoshi called again
The three headed dog began backing away, Ayoko saw a dark shadow in the blue light. She squinted her eyes to try and see the man's face, but everything became blurry.
"Our bond is unbreakable, nothing can destroy it" Kiyoshi called again
Ayoko fell forward again, she kept looking at the man, trying her hardest not faint. She could feel his magic, it was incredibly strong, her body couldn't handle the intensity of him being so near to him, she could feel him trying to latch on to her. She gasped for air, sweat poured from her brow, she couldn't, she couldn't do it.
"Ayoko! Ayoko…!" Kiyoshi called
Ayoko opened her eyes, looking over her was her brother, she had woken up.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" he asked, looking worried
She slowly nodded her head and rubbed her eyes. Her body felt weird, she was exhausted but she felt different somehow. She suddenly noticed the room was no longer dark, she turned her head. It was morning. She looked back at Kiyoshi, frowning slightly.
"D-Did you not sleep?" she asked
Kiyoshi shook his head, "You needed me…"
Before Ayoko could say anymore she heard a tiny bark, she looked at Kiyoshi. Both twins looked at one another confused. Ayoko slowly lifted her sheets up, there resting on her chest was a puppy. Not any kind of puppy, a black, three headed puppy.
"Cerberus" Ayoko mumbled quietly
The little puppy barked and bounced forward, licking her face.
"W-What's that!?" Kiyoshi asked, looking a little freaked
Ayoko giggled as the dogs tongue tickled her face.
"His Cerberus, the guard dog to the Underworld" Ayoko smiled and sat up
Kiyoshi looked at the strange beast, smiling
"Hey, his got a note tied to him" Kiyoshi pointed to a crumbled up paper hanging from the dogs neck
Ayoko pulled the note off the puppy and slowly read it
You have done well Ayoko, the bond between you and your brother is strong indeed for that I give you my trusted friend, Cerberus.
As for me, I have a feeling we will be meeting very soon
"Who's it from?" Kiyoshi asked, reading the strange note
"My new God" she replied quietly, her heart suddenly began racing as she recalled how weak her body felt when she was near that strange shadow
"That's good isn't it?" Kiyoshi asked
Ayoko turned her head and looked at Kiyoshi; she breathed in and smiled, slowly nodding her head. She looked brave on the surface but inside she felt nothing but terror.
"We should show mum and dad your new puppy" Kiyoshi petted the three headed beast
Ayoko snapped out of thought and smiled, agreeing with her brother. The twins jumped down off the bed, Ayoko holding Cerberus in her arms.
Kiyoshi swung open his parents' bedroom door; Erza was sat at her dressing table, tying up her long scarlet hair while Jellal was sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes.
"Mummy, Daddy look, I have a puppy!" Ayoko smiled, holding up the three headed beast.
A/N: Yay…! Ayoko got a puppy xD Well not just any puppy, the guard dog of the Underworld ;) hehe I'm guessing most of you know who her last God is now, but there is STILL another surprise for you ;) It's not for a while but you will be like O.O OMG…! ;)
I hope there was enough festiveness in this chapter ^_^ hehe. And as some of you may have noticed this is the LONGEST chapter of Heavens Angels :P Yay…! xD Some of you have said my chapters are short, I am sorry about that but it's just my style of writing…
I won't see you guys now until the New Year :( So I'm going to wish you all a very MERRY CHIRSTMAS…! ^_^ I hope you all have a wonderful holiday :D
