Few months pass: December 25th
"Kiyoshi come on!" Ayoko called from the landing, bouncing around in excitement
Today was the twins twelfth birthday and this year their parents had decided to take them skating, the snow had been falling over the last three days which meant the whole forest was covered in a huge white blanket.
"Hurry up!" Ayoko called to her little brother again
The blue haired wizard came hopping out of the bedroom, he was trying to pull on his brown boots but had put his coat on first, which had made it more difficult for him to reach down and put on his footwear.
Ayoko smiled as the bedroom door opened, laughing she went over to Kiyoshi to lend him a hand.
"You're so silly" she teased
"Well you were rushing me" he complained as he pulled his hood back
"You were taking forever, what were you doing?"
"Talking" he mumbled
"Talking to who?"
"The stars"
Kiyoshi pulled back as his foot finally slipped into his boot, he smiled and thanked his sister before wondering off downstairs. Ayoko slowly stood and followed him, she decided not to ask more about why he was talking to the stars, she had a feeling it was something to do with Yori. Kiyoshi had asked her not to question him about that kind of stuff, he had told her that what he had seen and heard was terrifying. Ayoko had been rather stubborn over the matter and had almost demanded he tell her but he had just told her not to worry and to just trust in him. Still she wondered, what had Kiyoshi heard and seen through the stars? Was the Wolfclaw twin's past that horrifying? She could only wondered.
"You're ready" Erza smiled as her children entered the living room where Natsu, Lucy, Jellal, Mira and Lisanna were waiting for them.
"Sorry we took so long" Ayoko apologised "Where are we going to skate?" she asked her father
"The forest" Jellal smiled
"The forest?" Ayoko titled her head, slightly confused
"The lake will be frozen over, it's the perfect place to ice skate" Mira smiled
Ayoko turned and looked at her brother, her heart began beating furiously against her small chest, that was the lake which Kiyoshi had almost lost his life.
"C-Can we not go some place else?" she asked, her voice shaken
"Why? What's wrong with the lake?" Erza asked as she walked to her daughter's side
Ayoko searched for words, her face filled with worry as she bit down on her bottom lip
"Uhm..."
"Nothing is wrong with the lake mum, I think it's a really good idea" Kiyoshi smiled and took a hold of his sister's hand
Erza looked down at the pair, not looking totally convinced.
"Are you sure?" she asked, pulling Ayoko's fluffy white hood back
The purple haired wizard turned and looked at her brother, she nodded her head and looked back at her mum with a small smile.
"I'm sure"
"Great, then let's go" Jellal walked forward, taking a hold of Erza's hand "Let's see who has the best moves" he added, a small grin appearing on his face as he looked down at his son
"Me of course!" Kiyoshi smiled back as he pointed to himself
"No way! It will definitely be the girls, right Ayoko?" Lucy placed her arm around the purple haired wizard
"Yeah...!"
Ayoko's heart was racing and her thoughts were filled with worry. The lake they were going to skate on had been the lake her and her brother had been on all them years ago. Kiyoshi had gone through the ice and had almost drowned because he was unable to swim. He had only been saved because of Ayoko's water God, Posedion. She tried to calm herself down, her brother had assured her that he was alright, she needed to stop worrying and enjoy her twelfth birthday with her family.
"Wow, there's so much snow" Kiyoshi held tightly to his father's hand as he took large strides, his small brown boots leaving little imprints on the frozen ground
"Yeah, there is enough here to make an army of snowmen" Lucy thought aloud
"Something like that would take hours" Jellal laughed
"I'd just melt them all with my fire" Natsu grinned, clenching his hand into a fist
Lucy shook her head, smiling. The dragon slayer was always thinking about using his magic, always fired up for a fight even if it was with an army of frozen snowmen.
"Hey look, we made it" Ayoko pointed forward
Just in the distance was a heavily wooded area, snow lay thick around the large lake. The icy blue water was frozen solid, it was almost like that day, the day which Ayoko's love for her brother had been tested. The young wizard pushed back the memories, she had saved Kiyoshi that day. He was safe now, they were together.
"Wah...!" Kiyoshi cried as his hand slipped from his father's grip, the young wizard went sliding over the ice.
"Kiyoshi...!" Ayoko yelled and ran towards him
The blue haired wizard sat up, laughing he pulled back his hood. Ayoko skidded to a stop, she looked at her brother who slowly stood up on the ice. Jellal went over to him, taking a hold of his hand once more before he began leading Kiyoshi around the large lake.
"Come on" Erza placed her hand on Ayoko's shoulder "Let's show the boy's what we can do" her mother smiled
Ayoko tuned and smiled up at her mother, taking her hand, both slowly skated into the centre of the large lake. Erza kept a hold of her daughter's hand until she had gained her balance.
"Show us what you got then" Jellal came to a skilful stop just in front of the two
Erza raised her eyebrow and grinned playfully, she took Ayoko's other hand. Slowly the mother turned the pair around the ice together, her scarlet hair flowing through the cold, winter wind. Jellal stood watching, his lips slightly parted.
"Dad!" Kiyoshi called
Jellal snapped out of his trance, looking down at his son who had his arms out towards him.
"We can do better than them" he smiled
"Yes we can" Jellal smiled back, confidence in his voice
The father took a hold of his son's hand and guided him around the lake, the pair skated side by side for a while until Jellal pulled Kiyoshi in and lifted him up. Kiyoshi held on to his father as they spun around really fast. Ayoko and Erza had come to a stop to watch the pair.
"I never knew dad could do that..."
"N-Neither did I..." Erza confessed
Mira and Lisanna had begun to skate together. The two glided past the father and son with a smile on their faces, while using their magic to help them skate faster. Lucy sat watching at the side bank with Natsu by her side, both cheering on their teams.
"Go Kiyoshi...!" Natsu cried
"You can do it Mira, show them more Erza!" Lucy cheered
"Hey, using your magic is cheating" Kiyoshi moaned as him as his father came to a slow stop
"We never said magic wasn't allowed" Mira giggled
"Then I'll use my magic to" Kiyoshi stated
Jellal turned and looked at his son, he had not seen Kiyoshi use his magic since he was really small and that was when he had spent the entire day trying to make a rainbow the size of their living room.
"I'm going to use my magic to" Ayoko stated and skated forward away from her mother
Kiyoshi smiled at her as he called upon his magic, Ayoko pulled out the small water bottle which her sea God had given her. She had kept it safe, only using it when she needed it. She knew the little sea horse that lived inside would not be happy with being bothered like this. But it was her birthday, surly the horse wouldn't mind.
Ayoko flipped open the lid, within a moment there was a small bubble floating in front of her with the little yellow sea horse swimming happily inside. He looked at her with an annoyed expression.
"You best have a good reason for summoning me!"
"I do, it's my birthday" Ayoko giggled "So please could you to help me control the water under the lake?" Ayoko asked with a smile as she placed the bottle back into her pocket. The sea horse stared at her, he snorted but agreed
Kiyoshi's pale tattoo was now glowing, he looked over to his sister as she turned and ordered the horse to give her the ability to control the water under them. The blue haired wizard grinned as the lake under them began to move, a small hole appeared within the ice allowing the cold water to escape.
Erza stared in amazement at her children, her hand over her mouth as she stood by Jellal's side, the father was looking at the twin's with just as much surprise as Erza.
"I-I didn't know she could do that"
"Me either..." Jellal mumbled
The twins had got caught up in the moment, no longer aware of their parents presence and the other Fairy Tail wizards as they duelled over the ice.
"You can't doge water" Ayoko grinned confidently as she guided the water towards her brother
"No but I can ride it" Kiyoshi smiled as he jumped into the air, the water missed him by inches but Ayoko quickly guided it back around.
Kiyoshi held out his hand, his palm touched the icy, blue water. He jumped up once more as the water began to freeze under his touch. Still Ayoko guided the water after her brother but each time he would freeze it and slid down off it.
"They've been training really hard" Mira pointed out as she came to stand still beside Erza and Jellal with Lisanna, Natsu and Lucy
"Yeah..." Erza mumbled softly, she hadn't realized how strong her babies had become
"To think we were so worried" Jellal looked over at his love "I think they are more than ready to face the Kingdom Hall Games" he smiled and placed his arm around Erza, pulling her in towards him
Erza's eyes began to tear up as she watched her children on the ice, together they made beautiful magic even if it was against one another. They were beyond what she had imagined, everyday they amazed her, she was truly proud of her babies. Kiyoshi and Ayoko were destined to be wizards after all she thought to herself with a smile.
Ayoko lowered her hands as Kiyoshi came to a skating stop. The pair glanced over at one another, smiling as they caught their breath.
"That was amazing!" Lucy cheered as she clapped
The siblings turned their heads, seeing everyone looking over at them. Kiyoshi's blushed deeply. He had thought everyone was using their magic, he'd got so into the playful battle with his sister he'd forgotten about his surroundings. Ayoko opened the lid to her water bottle, the seahorse came floating down towards her, a plain expression on his face.
"Thank you" she whispered to him
"I am not a toy! Please do not summon me for play time with your brother! I was created for battle, so in future only call upon me when you are in a real fight" the horse hissed angrily before he disappeared back into the bottle
Erza quickly wiped away her falling tears as her children came racing over to her, their arms outstretched. The scarlet haired mother kneeled as both twins came running into her arms, they wrapped their arms around her as she held them tightly.
"That was incredible!" Mira smiled
"You were both really amazing" Natsu added with a grin
The twins slowly pulled away from their mothers arms and went over to Lucy and the others. Erza slowly stood, swallowing down a lump of emotion. She turned to see Jellal looking almost close to tears as well. She reached out to him, placing her head on his chest as he wrapped his arm around her.
"They truly are miracles" Erza whispered
"Our miracles" Jellal added just as quietly
The parents slowly began to follow the rest of the wizards, they walked together closely, side by side. Never could they have imagined that their children, their babies would hold such amazing powers. But still the parents did not know the true extent of the twin's powers, they still had so much more to see.
A/N: Awwwwie the twins are twelve...! I feel so attached to these characters, I don't about you guys but I cannot believe they are twelve, twelve...! Ah, its crazy, time goes so fast...and I've hardly skipped any years o.o
