Author's Note:

Hello everyone and sorry that I've been gone for a while. This chapter has Scotty in it and another appearance of the goose from Rule 13 of 'Unofficial Rules'. Thank you everyone for your continued support and I hope you enjoy the chapter.

I own nothing.

Unexpected Saviour

Scotty had been caught unawares.

He'd been doing an inspection of some of the automated systems of the Enterprise when he suddenly found himself bowled over by a feathered boulder. He was sprawled in a dazed heap on the floor and he slowly recovered to see the goose standing menacingly before him. He suddenly registered that it was approaching him with a dangerous glint in its eye and he tried to get his befuddled brain to start working his limbs. He was to late however and the goose readied itself and sprang upon him.

It never reached him.

As the goose was in the air, its wings flapping, there was a piercing screaming noise and something struck the bird square in the chest sending it flying backwards to land hard upon its back. The thing that had struck it landed in front of Scotty and he saw that it was Bloodcarver. The tribble was making fierce growling sounds apparently at the goose which was picking itself of the ground. As the goose stood up it turned to face its new adversary and hissed angrily at the tribble. Bloodcarver answered with a warning growl and Scotty could have sworn that the goose's eyes narrowed and it began prowling around the tribble. Scotty, who was now apparently forgotten, watched as the goose circled its foe while Bloodcarver remained still somehow giving off an aura of cool calm. The goose came full circle back to its original position and stopped still staring the tribble down, there was a minute tensing and a deathly hush seemed to fall for a second…then the goose dived towards Bloodcarver!

Scotty wasn't sure what happened next but there was whirling mess and a cacophony of shrieks and honks with feathers and fur flying everywhere. The fight only lasted for a few seconds and soon the goose was charging off down the corridor, flapping its wings madly. It suddenly stopped and turned back and gave one angry honk at the tribble before vanishing as Bloodcarver gave what sounded like the tribble equivalent of a howl of victory in answer.

Scotty was still sat where he had fallen utterly bewildered as he gazed at the tribble before him which was now nuzzling him purring contentedly. He managed to gather enough of his wits to say one thing.

"Wha…?"

PS-So Bloodcarver the tribble and the goose have finally met and I may well write chapters on their other explosive meetings. Please let me know what you thought.
