Author's Note: I am so very, very, very sorry for not updating on a regular basis. Quite frankly I'm not that good at multitasking. Just so you know, the long wait for chapters isn't because of writer's block. I have through chapter 10 outlined. My problem is finding the time to sit down and type everything out. Okay, so now that that is out of the way, I wanted to ask what you guys think I should do after I finished this story. This story won't end for a while, but I just thought I'd let some ideas run by you guys. 1) A regular high school fanfiction on PJO and HoO. 2) A Chaos Story (Don't worry, it's nothing like other stories) 3) A PJO/HoO Crossover with HG (Hunger Games). I won't start on these ideas until this story is close to being done. Also this story is going to be a 3 book fanfiction. Book one based off of Order of the Phoenix. Book 2 off of Half-Blood Prince. Book 3 off of Deathly Hallows and the final book. So, tell me what you think via review. Also I FINALLY FINISHED READING BLOOD OF OLYMPUS! I was pretty happy about how the book turned out. I also caught a hint in the book. Okay so Annabeth said that she has an uncle and cousin that she hardly talks to. I remember this because Percy made the comment that the Yankees fan has family in Red Sox territory. Then at the end of the book, Rick put up what the name of his newest series was and when it would come out. I then realized that the person's name was Magnus CHASE and the Gods of ASGARD. Can't wait to read about Thor and Loki. Really psyched about that. Okay enough with my rambling. On to the well awaited story.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Chapter 7
Brad's P.o.V.
Day after Annabeth Drinks Coffee
Okay so I maybe should have thought through my plan a bit more before going through with it. WOW! My brother and I actually have something in common. We don't think through anything.
So after I gave Annabeth the drugged coffee, I had the brilliant idea to start making the potion myself. I mean how hard could it be? Apparently really difficult. It took me two days to look through the potion's room in the Big House for a recipe. Then another day to get all the ingredients I needed. After that I started making the recipe myself.
The first couple of times I made it, it didn't end so well. I was either really singed or pissed off because the potion didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. Eventually, it turned out the way it was supposed to and I felt pretty happy.
That night I decided to try out my working concoction on Annabeth again. It wasn't all that hard to slip it into her drink before dinner. I'm so good at being bad that it's almost a crime. Oh wait! It IS a crime.
I'm going to have so much fun with this new ability. Maybe I can give it to other campers too. No, that would be too much work for me. I'll just stick with Annabeth… for now.
Later that night, I watched as the potion started to kick in. I prayed to every titan I could think of to make the dang thing work properly. I watched as Annabeth turned from her nice, conservative, smart self, into a demon child. Now there's the Annabeth I know and am starting to love.
Two Weeks Later
I was in the middle of making another batch of that split personality potion. Well, I shouldn't say in the middle, I should say adding the last ingredient. Now, hear me out, it's four o' clock in the morning, I'm extremely tired, and not really thinking about what I'm doing. Add a cup of this, add a pinch of that, and five pinches of this, one… two… three,
CRACK.
I knocked a glass off the counter and smashed it into little shards. Great, just what I needed. More to pick up.
I hastily picked up the mess, then returned to my work. Wait, where was I? Oh yeah! Five pinches. How many had I put in? Two? Three? I'm pretty sure it was two. Three… four… five.
Finally I was done. And it's almost time for breakfast. I poured the potion into a vial, then fled from my room to the pavilion. I poured the potion into Annabeth's cup, then returned to my room to finish cleaning my mess and waiting for breakfast to actually start.
Once my mess was cleaned and it was actually time for breakfast, I left for the pavilion. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting the day to go the way it did.
Things started out normal. Everyone had made their sacrifices and the pavilion was filled with chitter chatter of useless things like, how everyone slept and how they think they'll do in a class, and how some stupid elfish looking boy with a tool belt and a really good looking girl came into camp on a fire breathing dragon about a week ago.
Someone at the Athena table was talking to Annabeth. I think it was her brother Malcom or something. He said something funny and the other Athenians started laughing. But non-of them laughed as hard, loud, or long as Annabeth did. It kind of frightened me.
I brushed it off as an extremely funny joke and left to my next class, mythology, with the Athenians. I sat in the second row, behind Annabeth, and listened to the teacher drone on and on about mythology that we had already learned. About half way through the lecture, Annabeth started itching her neck, momentarily blocking my view of the board. I figured she'd itch her itch really quickly, then get back to her notes. Boy was I wrong.
She didn't stop itching that one spot for about ten minutes, then she moved her hand to her side and itched it like crazy. She kept that up for the majority of the class. The swishing sound of her hand itching a clothed area was starting to drive me insane. I wanted to throw something at her. Finally, she stopped itching when the class had ended. I kept thinking that this day couldn't get any worse, when I then left for my sword fighting class.
My class consisted of me, the Ares, and the Athena cabins, again. The class started off with all the newbies sparing and trying to defend themselves against the other newbies when Annabeth started making fighting moves, off in the corner of the arena with her Drakon-bone sword. I thought she was practicing, but when one of her siblings tried to talk to her, Annabeth almost cut their head off, saying that she needed to defend the camp from the hoard of furies.
Everyone stared at her in shock, mainly because there was nothing around her to fight, yet she was doing advanced moves on nothing but air. I was starting to get a bit suspicious to her behavior. Could this have been from my potion? Did I add too little or too much of an ingredient?
Once sword fighting was done, I headed to the archery range to clear my head a bit. You see, unlike my brother, I'm actually pretty good with a bow and arrow. Anyway, apparently Annabeth had the same idea, because she was there too, along with her brother Malcom. Things were going pretty normal. Half of the actual class had gone by and not one outburst from Annabeth.
Then next thing we know, Annabeth had doubled over, taking in really long deep breaths, but seeming to fail. Malcom called for Chiron to come over and help, but by then it was too late. Annabeth collapsed onto the ground, shaking violently. Her eyes had rolled up into her head, and she was foaming at the mouth. Chiron galloped over the scene, picked up Annabeth then hurriedly galloped her to the infirmary.
I rushed back to the Big House and into my room, picking up all the ingredients and putting them, and the recipe, back into the potions room. I then rushed over to the infirmary and paced outside the front door, waiting to see if Chiron knew what had happened.
About a half an hour later Chiron came out of the infirmary in his wheel-chair form and explained what had happened to all of the concerned demigods outside.
"It seems that, someone has been taking ingredients out of the potions room in the Big House, and using them to create a split personality potion. I found traces of said potion in Annabeth's bloodstream."
The demigods erupted into a chorus of, OH's, and So that's why she's been acting weird. I pretend to act concerned about what's just happened, but I started freaking out, on the inside, thinking that I'll be caught. My acting skills must be better than I thought because Chiron and the other demigods bought my act.
"Annabeth, for now, is in a coma. There is no telling when she will come out of it, or what she knows about her drugging. Until then, I'm issuing an investigation to search for the person responsible for drugging one of our most talented and skilled counselors." Said Chiron
I took this as my cue to start spreading mischief. I walked up to Chiron and whispered in his ear.
"I think I know who did it to her Chiron."
"Well if you know then tell me. A partial lead is better than no lead at all." He said
"Okay, so I overheard my brother talking to someone about some plan of his. I don't know who he was talking to but I do remember him saying something about a potion." I said
Now of course I knew Percy was gone. He left a few weeks ago, but I wasn't going to tell Chiron that. I needed to spread as much bad publicity about my brother as I could before someone realizes that he isn't here.
"Very well. We'll tell the other campers your theory and go to the Poseidon cabin and demand he give us some answers." Said Chiron
"That is a great idea" I said with fake enthusiasm. Guess I won't be spreading bad publicity.
Chiron announced my theory to the other campers and I waited patiently for their responses. The majority said to storm the Poseidon Cabin and ask for answers. Others said we should kick him out of camp. The rest just shook their heads and dispersed to their regular activities.
Chiron grabbed my arm and boosted me onto his back. Carrying me over the Poseidon Cabin. The mob of angry demigods trailing behind us. Oh this was going to be fun.
Nico's P.o.V
I was sitting on a chair in my room, sharpening my sword, when I heard a loud commotion coming from outside. Confused about what was going on, I left my cabin and went to investigate.
Turned out it was a mob of angry demigods crowding around the Poseidon Cabin. I was still slightly confused about what was going on, so I decided to move to the front of the crowd to see what was going on. Also to see if I could help.
After pushing my way through the crowd of demigods, I saw Chiron, in horse form, pounding on the Poseidon Cabin door, with Brad in tow, demanding Percy come out and answer some questions.
Was Percy really back, or was Brad planting more seeds of deceit? Instead of asking one of the protesting demigods, I walked up to Chiron and asked him to explain what was going on. His words weren't very kind
"Perseus is accused of drugging Ms. Chase earlier this morning and is refusing to come out of his cabin to answer any questions." Chiron stated
"What do you mean he's being accused?" I asked
"Brad informed me that he overheard Percy talking about a potion yesterday. Then today Ms. Chase is drugged with a personality potion and is now in a coma because of it."
"Wait. So you're telling me, that you're accusing Percy based on an accusation made by one person?" I asked
"Yes, what is wrong with that?" Chiron asked
"Where's your proof?" I asked
"I beg your pardon?" asked Chiron
"PROOF. You know. EVIDENCE. Something that proves he did It." said Nico
"And you don't think he did it?" asked Chiron
"NO. I don't think he did it. Scratch that. I KNOW he didn't do it. I know this because Percy hasn't been here for WEEKS. He left during one of the bonfires and I haven't seen him since." I said
"Okay then. You say he didn't do it. Where's YOUR proof then?" asked Chiron.
I was getting pissed off, fast. I mean Chiron was being totally unreasonable. If he wants proof, he's going to get it. I strolled up to the door of the Poseidon Cabin and turned the handle. I pushed the door open and stepped aside. Letting everyone see the empty cabin.
"THAT is my proof." I told Chiron
"I watched Percy leave weeks ago. He hasn't been back since. If he was here, then where is he staying? Because it sure as hell isn't in the Poseidon Cabin." I said
The great and powerful (note the sarcasm) Brad, decided to open his big fat lying mouth then.
"That's impossible. He was here YESTERDAY. I saw him. If you ask me, I'd say that he fled from the camp while we were all at the infirmary. Come on Chiron, it's the only logical explanation."
Chiron, his face contorted, as if he was in deep thought, was quiet for a few minutes. I was thinking that I had this whole thing in the bag. Apparently not.
"Brad."
"Yes Chiron."
"I want you to put together a search team and track down Mr. Jackson. He can't have gone far." Said Chiron.
"Yes sir" said Brad, turning to me and smirking.
I couldn't believe Chiron didn't believe me. It was outrageous. I wanted to just hit something. How could Chiron be so stupid?
The mob started thinning out, probably going back to their activities. Soon I was the only camper left by the cabins. I ran into my room and slammed the door. I got out a drachma and got ready to tell Dumbledore everything that had just happened.
Hazel's P.o.V.
One Month Later
I still can't believe all that has happened since the Giant War. First Percy goes missing, then Annabeth gets drugged, Frank and I decided to spend some time apart due to his duties as praetor, then a nasty plague spreads around Camp Jupiter. I'm glad I left for Camp Half-Blood when I had the chance. The only good thing that happened would be that Leo came back riding Festus with Calypso in tow.
I was really glad that Leo was able to find her again. It was also really cool to listen to Calypso talk about what she saw and did once she left Ogygia. I can't believe all of the things that the two of them did.
Calypso still wanted to go exploring, but since Leo had heard of the camp division, he decided to stay behind and help. It was sad to watch him see Calypso off, but it was way worse to watch him wave off Festus. I'm just glad he's trying to help.
The main talk of the camp is what happened to Percy Jackson. You see, the whole camp, including the gods, have taken sides. Some believe Percy is innocent and doesn't have the capability to something like drug someone. Others believe Brad's lies and say that 'due to his previous behavior' he's the one who did it.
I think it's a hunk of bull crap. I mean, sure I haven't really known Percy for that long, but he's still my friend. I know he isn't capable of doing anything like this. And a lot of people believe me.
Ever since Percy left, the whole camp has been in chaos. There's no order and I'm not sure what to do about it. I want to help and make things right, but I think the only way to do that would be to bring Percy back and return things back to the way they were.
The only problem with that is getting the whole camp to believe me when I say he's innocent. Some gods and goddesses, and their respective children, believe me. So, Aphrodite, Hades, Hestia, Hephaestus, Artemis, and, surprisingly, Athena, believe that Percy is innocent. The rest think that he is guilty and trying to over throw Olympus.
I've tried convincing other cabins that he's innocent, but I've only gotten Clarisse onboard. Since she's changed her view, she's trying to convince her siblings that Percy's innocent too. It hasn't gone so well.
The Romans are too busy dealing with their widespread plague to help any of us and not that many minor gods even care. Everyone just wants us to shut up or leave.
On the bright side, Annabeth came out of her coma about a week ago. I haven't been in to see her because I'm afraid to see her. I mean what if she's suffering from some side effects or something. Piper has been in to see her, she says that she's fine, but I'm still too scared to see her. I'll never understand that unspoken communication that Piper and Annabeth have.
Anyway, there are still no leads on who did this to Annabeth, besides Percy. Once she did wake up, people tried to ask her if she know who did it to her. She replied that she doesn't remember what happened to her past breakfast. Chiron has tried to get her to dig deeper into her memory, but it has been a futile attempt.
When one of the campers told Annabeth about their lead on Percy, she instantly slugged the guy in the stomach for saying such a lie. Even though we have no new leads and no idea where Percy is, at least Annabeth believes that he's innocent, and if she believes it, then her siblings will believe it. She's a daughter of Athena, she's almost never wrong.
I have a really good feeling something bad was about to happen. I need to figure out what to do. Maybe Leo and Piper can help. And with that thought I took off from my cabin to the Hephaestus cabin, in hopes of talking to Leo.
Leo's P.o.V.
Ever since I got back from my trip with Calypso I can't stop thinking about what all has changed. I figured things would resemble some sort of normalcy, not turn into outright chaos. I guess this camp run right without the Leonator somewhere near-by. At least that's what I thought, before I realized that the divide was over Percy.
Naturally, due to being his friend and knowing first hand that he's not capable of doing such a thing, I believed he was innocent. I've been trying to help out Hazel as much as I can by getting campers to believe he's innocent. Calypso believes us, and is going to spread the word around and try to look for him while she's seeing the world with Festus. I've also managed to get a few of the minor god's children on our side.
I've almost gotten all of the Hypnos cabin on our side, though they aren't much help. All they do is sleep. My cabin is on board, but were having a hard time keeping people with us, with all the bullying going on from the other cabins.
The Hermes Cabin pranks everyone pretty heavily. Most of the weaker campers stopped supporting us afterwards, either because they were extremely embarrassed or extremely hurt.
The Apollo Cabin curses everyone to rhyme. This got a lot of people with a low annoyance tolerance to stop supporting us because they couldn't stand to listen to themselves, or others, anymore.
The Ares Cabin, except for Clarisse, bullies everyone to stop supporting us. They go hard during practices and put the majority of our people in the infirmary with terrible wounds.
Due to the chaos that runs throughout the camp. We need someone to help the camp get back on its feet. Only two people are trying to get this job. One is Jason, who wants to put the camp back the way it was, then step down when Percy comes back. The other is Brad, who is still spreading terrible, untrue, lies about Percy and boosting his own self-importance.
We need to come up with a plan. I was thinking about going to hazel for help, when she burst through the door of my cabin successfully knocking the door off its hinges. I starred at the door in shock. How could she have possibly done that?
She looked up at me and said in an apologetic voice.
"I'm sorry. I thought the door opened in."
"S'Okay. At least it was the door to my cabin. I can probably fix it in a matter of minutes."
"We need to talk." She said
"About what?" I asked
"Percy."
"What about him?" I asked
"We need to find him. I'm done waiting for something to happen. We need to take this into our own hands." She said.
"If we're going to do something then we need to get everyone together." I said
"What, you mean the seven?" she asked.
"No, I mean the five." I said.
"Who's the five?" asked Hazel with a confused look crossing her face.
"You, me, Piper, Jason, and Annabeth." I said matter of factly.
"Okay. I can see Piper and Jason, but why Annabeth? I mean, won't this just hurt her even more?" she asked.
"It may, but she deserves a right to know. I mean, this is Percy we're talking about. She should have a say in what we do in regards to him." I said. She looked at me for a few seconds, thinking deeply
"You know, you've changed since you came from your trip with Calypso." She said. "But in a good way."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well you aren't as… immature as you used to be. You've kind of grown up." She said.
"Oh I can still be immature. I'm just choosing not to with the current subject. You never know. I could bust out a joke at any moment." I said smiling. A large smile spread across her face and she shook her head in amusement.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me up off my bunk. We then took off to the Aphrodite Cabin to find Piper. I was just going to be quiet and follow Hazel, but my 'immaturity' got the better of me.
"Hey Hazel."
"What?" she asked.
"Did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac?" I asked.
"No." she said rather suspiciously
"He stayed up all night wondering if there was a dog."
"You are so bad." She said after she stopped laughing.
Piper's P.o.V.
The subject of where Percy is has come up numerous times in my mind. I've tried to think about other things, but everything just leads back to Percy.
Annabeth is getting better. In fact, she's going to be released from the infirmary today. I'm planning on seeing her out and making sure nothing happens to her. I'm so worried about her and if she'll be okay. Then I think about how different her recovery would be if Percy was here to help support her.
I wonder where he is and why exactly he left. It's all so confusing and I'm worried that Annabeth may never be the same. She's told me about how she feels about what happened. Which was a huge struggle for someone who suppresses their feelings and follows logic. She says that she doesn't know what happened but knows for sure it's not Percy. She also has this weird feeling, a chill like feeling, when she's too close to Brad. In my mind, that can't be a coincidence.
But on the bright side, I'm proud of Jason. He stepped up and is trying to help run the camp. Percy was the person almost every camper looked up to. Now that he's gone, who are the campers supposed to follow? Jason wants the job, but there's just one problem. Brad.
Brad is trying to get people to rise against Jason by saying some nasty things about him. Like the fact that he used to be a Roman Praetor and now he's nothing more than a Cabin Councilor of an empty cabin. That was really harsh of him to say, yet stupid, because he's the Cabin Councilor of an empty cabin as well.
I was about to head out to see how Annabeth was doing when someone knocked on the door. Getting up from my bunk, I headed over and opened the door to see who it was. I stood there and watched as Hazel and Leo jokingly fought about knocking on a door and knocking down a door. After a while I started to get a headache and intervened.
"What are you two doing?" I asked them. They looked at me, as if not realizing that I had opened the door.
"Sorry Pipes. We were just having a heated discussion on the importance of knocking." Said Leo
"Why exactly?" I asked. Confused.
"Because I accidentally knocked the Hephaestus Cabin door off of its hinges and he wanted to make sure that I didn't do it again." Said Hazel, slightly annoyed.
"Okay then. So why are you two here? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you're here, but why are you here?" I asked.
"We need a plan. We need to find Percy. Waiting around isn't going to do anything." Said Leo.
"So what are we going to do?" I asked.
"We think we should find Jason before we start coming up with ideas. It's better that way." Said Hazel.
I thought about what they said for a moment, and it made sense to me. We needed to find Percy before things got out of hand. But shouldn't Annabeth be included in this conversation. It's her right to know. I decided to voice my thoughts
"Shouldn't Annabeth be included in this conversation?"
"Well… I don't know. I'm kind of afraid of what she might do or say." Said Hazel
"Why would you be afraid? She's not going to hurt you or anything. It's not like anything is going to happen. Besides, I'm going over there to see her out of the infirmary." I said
"Wait! She's being let out today?" asked Hazel.
"Yeah. She's fine. There's no reason to keep her there so they're letting her go. Why are you so afraid of that?" I asked
"Because she thinks that she's changed and won't be the same as she used to be." Said Leo
"Well, yes and no. She will be scarred by the fact that she was drugged and might be a lot more cautious, but she hasn't changed all that much really. She still thinks logically. I've been helping her out with her memory by giving her questions to answer and such. The only way I think she would treat any one differently would be if she thinks she found whoever drugged her. She doesn't think it was you or any one of her friends that did it. Especially not Percy. If anything I think Brad did it. And I think Annabeth is starting to think that too." I said, exasperated.
"I'm still not comfortable going to see her just yet." Hazel said in a small voice, looking at her feet.
"Piper is right Hazel. We're a team. We can't be sidetracked by small things like fear. We have a big problem, we need all of us to think through it." said Leo
"Let's just talk to Jason and go from there. Okay." Hazel snapped.
Then we headed off to the rec-room to find Jason. I faintly heard Leo say, 'Well someone has their panties in a bunch.' behind me. I snickered at the glare Hazel shot him for his comment.
Jason's P.o.V.
I was currently sitting in the rec-room, where we normally hold important camp meetings. I was using it as a makeshift office to try and work out all the problems I was facing.
One problem would be the whole camp in chaos thing. I'm trying really hard to manage it and get people on my side. But with Brad spreading bad publicity for me and disregarding Percy, it was kind of difficult to stay on task.
Another problem would be the camp itself. There are so many problems coming in from demigods that needed to be fixed. The Ares, Hermes, and Apollo Cabins were the main problems I needed to deal with. They were causing numerous problems with the safety of the camp and campers.
Then that promise I made to make sure all the Gods and Goddesses need to be recognized. I have the Athenians working on blueprints for even more cabins, and shrines for each god and goddess. It was very strenuous work.
It was times like this that I missed the days on the Argo II. Things were so much simpler back then. All we had to do was fly around the world and make it to a certain place by a certain time and stop some evil force that was rising. Sure it was difficult, but it was also fun. This, this is not fun. I barely even have enough time to train.
I had just finished going through a list of complaints, pushing up my glasses in the process, when Hazel, Leo, and Piper showed up. I was presently surprised by the sight of all of them together. I brought back some of the fonder memories from the Argo II.
"What brings you guys to my makeshift office?" I asked my friends.
"We need help." Said Piper
"Sounds simple. What kind of help?" I asked, rather concerned.
"We need help finding Percy." Said Hazel.
"Okay, so not simple." I said.
"We're tired of waiting for something to happen. If we want to change the camp, we need Percy. Wadding around like sitting ducks isn't going to help us." Said Leo.
"I agree. What do you have in mind?" I asked.
"Well, that's kind of why we came to you. So you could help us come up with a plan." Said Piper.
"Okay, I see your point. But I'm not sure how to go about this. That might be the stress talking though. I haven't been able to relax what with all these complaint and bad publicity to sort through." I said.
"So what should we do?" asked Piper.
"I think, that if you want a good plan, you should go to a good strategist. Otherwise we're pretty much screwed." I said.
"Okay so who's a good strategist?" asked Hazel.
I shared a look with Piper and Leo. We all knew who to go to. I'm not sure why Hazel hasn't thought of it thought. I mean, yeah she's in the infirmary, but she's still the camp's best strategist.
"I know who we can go to." I said.
"Who? Who should we go to?" asked Hazel.
"Hmm, let me think. Oh yeah! Why don't we go to Annabeth?" I asked.
A look of horror crosses Hazel's face. And it confused me to no end. Why was she acting like this? We needed her on board otherwise this would be a futile attempt. Piper seemed to read my mind and started using her charmspeak.
"We are going to go to the infirmary to see Annabeth." Said Piper.
If I wasn't already for the idea of going to see Annabeth, then I was now. Piper's charmspeak has improved drastically since the end of the Giant War. From the look on Hazel's face, she was hooked, and apparently so was Leo. I'm pretty sure we all had a dazed look on our faces as we got up and went to the infirmary.
Once we got to the door leading to the infirmary, I stepped forward and slowly opened the door. What I saw, wasn't what I expected to see. I expected to see Annabeth, really pale, and laying in her bed. But she looked fine. She was sitting cross-legged on her bed with her nose buried in an architecture book. He skin was slightly pale from the weeks she's spent out of the sun's rays, but other than that she looked fine.
When she heard us enter she looked up at us. I swear I had never seen anything so terrible. The look in her eyes was pure terror. For a second at least, she didn't recognize me. once she did, her posture relaxed and the terror left her eyes. She became even more relaxed when she saw Piper, Leo, and Hazel.
"What brings you guys here?" She asked.
"We have a lot to discuss. We figured you should be involved. Well, most of us." I said.
"What do you mean most of you?" she asked, a bit curiously.
"Me. I was a bit scared to see you. I didn't want to see you as anyone but who I knew you as. I was scared that you had changed and that the drug had lasting effects. I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything, I'm just not used to these kinds of things happening. They weren't all that possible when I was first born." Said Hazel.
"It's okay Hazel. I'm fine. Somewhat anyways." She said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"She means that she's afraid that it will happen again and she'll go through all this again."
"Thanks Piper." Said Annabeth
"You're welcome." Said Piper.
"Anyway, aren't you getting out today?" I asked.
"Yeah." She said.
"Are you okay?" I asked, really concerned.
"No, not really. But I can't stay in here forever. I wish Percy was still here. He would have made this a lot easier." She said.
"That brings us to our problem. We need your help. We want to find Percy. The only problem is we don't know how to find him. We hoped you would be able to help us." I told her.
She looked out the window, seeming to be lost in thought. I was about to ask her if she was okay again when she answered.
"Have you tried talking to the last person who saw him?" she asked.
I stood there, shocked. How could we have not thought about trying to find the last person to see Percy? It was simple but brilliant.
"The problem would be finding out who was the last person to see him." Said Piper.
"Actually, no it's not." Said Hazel.
"What do you mean?" asked Annabeth, confused.
"What did Nico say when he was pleading his case to Chiron about a month ago?" asked Hazel.
I was stumped. I couldn't figure it out. I knew Annabeth wouldn't know because she was in a coma, but the rest of us were completely confused. Hazel, smiling, continued.
"Nico said that he watched Percy leave, but that was the last he had seen of him." Said Hazel.
I was still confused. But a hopeful look crossed Annabeth's face and she asked.
"You think Nico knows more than he's letting on?"
"I think it's a possibility. He was the last one to see Percy the night he left. I know Nico, if he sees something suspicious, he checks it out. I bet he followed Percy. No I bet he knows exactly where he is, and is lying about not knowing more." Said Hazel.
"I makes sense." I said. "He did go between Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood without telling either camp about the other. Maybe he's still communicating with him too." I said, getting more hopeful by the second.
We brainstormed and made a plan to talk to Nico and see whether he knows about Percy or not. Once we were done the lunch horn blew. Piper walked over to Annabeth's bed and stuck out her hand. Annabeth took it and was hauled to her feet while Piper said.
"Ready to see the outside world again?"
"You have no idea." She said, walking towards the door.
I opened the door, standing off to the side to let everyone out. Annabeth stopped for a second, getting used to the bright light, and smiled. Then we all headed off to the Pavilion to fill our food deprived stomachs.
Author's Note 2: Okay so I thought I'd say the joke that Leo says, I found on the comedy central website. I found it and thought it would be something that he would say. Please Review, I love hearing your opinions. Including the bad ones. Not sure when I'll post chapter 8 but I'll get around to it. Eventually.
