Author's Note:

Hello everyone and sorry that I've been gone for so long (about two weeks I think). This chapter is quite short but is hopefully amusing and I will try to update again sooner. Thank you for your reviews and I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Hiding in a ditch from a bunch of angry people with Scotty was not the way Hikaru Sulu imagined they'd be spending their shore leave.

They were on a Federation colony and had been having an enjoyable time; they had gone to the local bar and were having a quiet drink together when a large group of particularly raucous men and women had come in. Initially this wasn't a problem but soon the crowd had started to discuss the Enterprise, this was unsurprising as it was a small colony and it would be huge news amongst the colonists that a Starfleet starship was in orbit. Unfortunately it also meant that everyone was also unafraid to give their opinion on it regardless of whether their facts were right or not. So when they began to loudly declare how bad they thought the ship was Scotty and Hikaru decided to defend her, this led to a full blown argument which ended with Scotty giving one particularly vocal guy a hard right hook turning it into a fight.

They defended themselves quite well but since there were ten of them against the engineer and pilot Hikaru decided that discretion was the better part of valour and dragged Scotty away and made an escape. This was why they were now currently in a ditch hiding from at least ten angry people (possibly more since they had effectively ruined the night of some of the bar's other patrons).

A group were searching near their position so they were keeping as quiet as possible so as not to be discovered, unfortunately Hikaru started to feel a familiar sensation in his nose and he tried desperately to smother it. Scotty was speaking quietly in his ear, "Right laddie, we just need tae keep quiet and they should pass us by."

The pilot just nodded and continued to fight what he knew was inevitable.

"When we're in the clear we'll ask tae be beamed back tae the ship, dinnae want tae do it now in case they hear."

Again Sulu just nodded, hoping that the angry mob would move on soon before it was too late. They seemed to be just about to give up and Scotty noticed it and cautiously prepared himself to run, "It looks like we're in luck laddie, they're about tae move off so if we don't make a noise for a few more seconds we'll be in the clear."

At that moment Hikaru lost his fight with his own body and did what was possibly the last thing he wanted to do at that moment.

"ACHOO!"

PS-So a little trouble for Sulu and Scotty and please let me know what you thought. Hopefully the next chapter will be a bit longer.
