At the old haunt was all laughs except Kate, who was still having a hard time staying awake when Lanie tapped her glass.
"Guys we have something to say."
She looked to Esposito and everything went silent.
"We're going to have a baby."
And everyone started congratulating them and castle gave them around of free drinks.
Kate took one sip of her alcoholic mixture and felt sick she put a hand on her upset stomach and passed it to castle. He stared at her worriedly.
"What's wrong?"
Everyone stared at her and she gave him a look telling him to calm down, if he made a big deal out of it everyone was going to tell her to rest and take a break
from work, especially now when captain was there.
"Nothing I just don't like that flavor"
So she ended up eating a salad and drinking pineapple juice. By the time they got home Kate was exhausted, she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the
pillow. Castle stared at her while she slept she wasn't acting like herself, but then again she was probably tired, after all she had been working late nights so
he shrugged it off and went to write.
The next morning he awoke to the flush of a toilet it was 5:00 which meant that she had a case. He walked into his bedroom to see Kate wipe her mouth.
"Going to work?
She nodded her head going to choose her outfit.
"Yep just got a case."
"I'll have dinner ready."
She nodded as he wrapped his arms around her and she turned giving him a peck.
"Looking forward to it "
When she arrived at the crime scene she was actually sort of surprised to see Lanie there stooping over the body, she walked up to Lanie and her stomach
churned with the smell and the sight of the body as she swallowed the bile threatening to escape. Esposito walked up to them "Vic's name is Alli Conchita she's
26 years old"
But before he could finish she was running towards the nearest bush and they were three shadows standing next to her one holding her hair one, rubbing her
back and the other was holding out a bottle of water.
"Girl are you okay? I've never seen you throw up at a body before"
Kate drank three quarters of the water and stood up.
"I,m fine Castle gave me this thing to eat yesterday and I think it's messing up my stomach, I threw up this morning too"
She started to walk away and lanie followed.
"And writer boy let you leave home like that?"
Kate sped up
"He doesen't know does he?"
She tried to focus at work but after throwing up for the third time she was considering going home. When she walked out of the bathroom Lanie was there
pack your things we're leaving. She was about to protest, but she cut her off.
"Don't make me call writer boy"
"Lanie I have a case to solve, I can't just go"
"yes you can Ryan and Esposito said they would cover for you and captain said you weren't looking too well since last night, so come on."
She rose her cell phone in the air showing castle's number.
"Fine lets go".
Lanie smiled that was the easiest Kate ever gave into her. As she grabbed her bags ryan and Esposito were writing up the murder board.
"Get better mom!"
Esposito grinned
"And let dad take care of you."
She rolled her eyes
"Good bye boys. "
And when Kate and Lanie were in the elevator. Lanie looked at her.
"Is anyone at home at your house ?"
She taught before shaking her head
"No."
"Good, don't get angry but when's the last time you had your monthly visitor?"
And when kate tried to remember and couldn't she looked at her in alarm.
"Oh no!"
"We need to get some pregnancy tests."
Laine sat on the coach as kate walked out with the three sticks in her hand, putting them on the table and then starting to paste.
"Girl will you calm down it's not that bad."
Kate stopped and looked at her
"Lanie I can't be a mom"
Lanie rolled her eyes"
"and why not? You have a great husband who loves you and he already has a kid and is a great father and you're a great person, plus you're already a mom to alexis aren't you?"
But before she could answer the alarm rang. She picked up the sticks and looked at them.
Kate you're ...
Well it's weekend so I don't have anything to do, I'll try to get another chapter up tomorrow.
