It was the end of another tough case, and the group including Lanie and Captain.
"you know I hate you guys," Lanie said Giving them all a nasty look, "You guys know I'm not allowed to drink and you guys are drinking right in front of my face.
"Honey that's not true, Kate is drinking juice." Esposito stated, pointing at her.
Castle shot her a look, trying to tell her that now was a good time and she returned the look with an eye roll, but took his suggestion.
"Look guys I have something to tell you" she said nervously playing with her fingers, as all attention turned to her.
"I'm pregnant."
Everything went silent until Montgomery put out his hand "Pay up" he said and Esposito and Ryan took out bills and give him.
"I knew she would never give up coffee." Esposito said clearly upset that he had lost. Then they all congratulated the parents to be.
"Well Kate you're now officially off the team, you will be allowed to crime scenes only if it has been cleared by CSU and by your husband."
"Oh gosh" Esposito exclaimed "Two pregnant women on the team." And Ryan frowned, obviously he was upset too.
Lanie slapped him "What are you trying to say." Castle wisely shut up he had gotten a touch of Kate's misery and he didn't want to get it again.

And at 4 months, Kate's stomach was beginning to grow and she was forced to wearing: Flats, loose jeans and big shirts. They had gone to the doctor and it was confirmed that they were having a girl. She moodily walked into the kitchen.
"I feel huge." She stated plopping herself down on a stool. Castle walked over, wrapping his arms around her.
"You aren't huge you're pregnant, I remember when Meredith was pregnant..."
She pulled away angrily "Are you comparing me to her?" He mentally slapped himself, She didn't even let him say anything else, she just stormed out of the house.
"oh Richard, never compare your wife to you ex wife, but don't worry dear she'll come around." Martha said taking one of the pancakes.
She did come around, until Karpowski smiled and he returned the smile, and when he looked at Kate she was glaring at him "Smile at her again and I will poke out your eye balls."
He stared at her shocked at the outburst and just as the elevator doors closed he saw Ryan give him a knowing look. He was in a lot of trouble.
"Kate I wasn't flirting with her." Castle said, unlocking the door.
"Yes you were" she entered the house "You gave her your flirty smile, excuse me if I'm fat with the child that YOU put in me, but that does not give you the right to smile at other women."
She walked into their room barely telling Alexis hello.
"So I guess that you're getting a touch of the mood swings?" She asked knowingly "Yep, she's been like that all day."
He gave her a few minutes to cool off before looking for her. She was in the bathroom with her shirt lifted up looking at her stomach in the mirror, she didn't even know he was there until he wrapped his arms around her.
"Am I really that fat?" she asked avoiding his eyes.
"No"
"Then why were you looking at her like that, and giving her that charming smile?" She asked dropping her head as a tear fell.
Castle was actually glad for her hormones right now, he knew that Kate sometimes felt that he would get tired and leave her, but she never told him exactly, but sometimes when a chesty woman would flirt with him she would shut down.
"Kate I asked you to marry me because I love you and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you and I will never do anything to put our marriage in trouble." He turned her to face him. "You may be the most maddening, frustrating person I have ever met but I love you, "Kate Castle."
She kissed him, "I love you too Rick."
