Chapter Twelve

Meanwhile, in the past, the five Power Rangers continued to hide in the stables from the colonial soldiers. They had caught their breath and were now waiting for a chance to get away without being seen.

"I'm Marissa," introduced the girl who helped them.

Kimberly almost forgot about the girl and was nearly surprised when… Marissa spoke.

"I'm Adam," Adam said. "There are my friends Billy, Rocky, Kimberly, and Aisha."

"Hey," Aisha greeted.

"Hi," Kimberly said. "Um, why is everybody calling us witches?"

"Because in the olden days, anyone who was considered different or unusual was accused of being a witch," Billy answered.

"Olden days?" Marissa asked confused.

"Uh, um," Aisha said unsure of how to answer. "Marissa, we can explain everything, I think."

"Yeah right," Rocky said. "You try Billy?"

He turned to the smartest Ranger out of them.

Billy cleared his throat and turned to Marissa.

"Alright," he said. "Uh, where should I begin? Have you ever wondered what Angel Grove would be like in the future?"

Kimberly zoned out as Billy began to explain their situation. She was, of course, worried about Tommy. Wondering if the spell that had been placed on him was removed by now. She wondered if he, along with Zordon and Alpha, was trying to find a way to get them home. She wondered if he even know what had happened to them. Given before the spells kept all their memories intact, but it still didn't stop her worry.

It was these thoughts that pushed Kim to near tears. Tears she held back for the rest of the team. Because she did not want to seem weak in a crisis. There was no time for tears, only time to find a way out of the mess they were in.

Back in present day Angel Grove, Tommy was still in the park, standing across from his wicked double. He stared worriedly at his doppelganger. The Green Ranger seemed so sure of himself, while Tommy felt like the complete opposite.

"If you're like me, you can't be evil," the White Ranger tried to reason.

He was feeling weak, tired, and a bit sick. He felt as though something wasn't right with him. Like something was missing, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

"Let's face it," the Green Ranger taunted. "We all have our dark sides."

He sounded proud of his evilness. He held no shame. He showed no fear. The Green Ranger only showed boastful confidence.

"My dark side faded with the Green Ranger's powers," Tommy argued, truly believing what he was saying.

The evil Tommy stared at him mockingly.

"I am the Green Ranger," he proclaimed. "Only I'm more powerful than you, White Ranger."

To the White Ranger this seemed true. The Green Ranger stood tall and strong, while he still felt as if he would pass out at any moment.

"So, you gonna fight against yourself?" The Green Ranger really wanted to prove who was the better Tommy.

Right now, Tommy wasn't so sure white could defeat green and it was a terrifying thought. Tommy knew exactly what his evil counterpart would do if… when… if he won.
